RoboHelp

When I publish small text or pic changes in RoboHelp (v2022.3.93), the changes don't show up in a browser (Firefox, Chrome), even if the page is reloaded. They always show up if I look at the local output. Usually they show up online if I use in-private browsing, sometimes they show up if I delete browser history. Since this doesn't happen when I change a simple (non-RoboHelp) web page, I have to believe it has something to do with how RoboHelp builds the pages. Anyone know what's going on? Any RoboHelp settings that might cause browsers to reload everything?

I tried microcontent in RH 2020 with frameless output and it works very well.Is it not possible to implement microcontent in RH 2020 with Responsive html5 output?

Does RoboHelp support another framework beside JavaHelp?

Hello everyone,I am working on an Adobe RoboHelp project that serves as the documentation for a software application. Our plan is to deploy this documentation on Microsoft Azure to make it available online.Our goal is to enable dynamic navigation from the software to the specific documentation. For this, we have utilized RoboHelp's mapping feature to map all the pages of the documentation. We intend to provide the mapping file to the software so that when a user requests information on a specific topic, they are directed to the appropriate online documentation page.My question is: Is it possible to set this up in such a way that the software can use the mapping file and the base URL of the documentation to generate the complete URL for the specific documentation page? If so, what might this URL look like? Which part of the mapping file would be used in the URL to ensure precise navigation?Any help or examples of similar implementations would be greatly appreciated.Thank you very much f

I am working with a frameless template (skin) in RH2022, and the Adobe help (https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/frameless-skin-editor.html) says, “Add the right panel buttons to the main toolbar in case you want to hide the right panel. ” I do want to hide the right panel, but there are no further instructions provided regarding how to go about adding the Print and Remove Highlight buttons to the main toolbar. Does anyone know how that might be done? Thanks.

Hello, I saw that someone (Alfonso5EAF) asked this question before with no reply.  I recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 11. For work and organization we use a pdf thumbnail view on our files to visually sort through them quicker. The thumbnail images never had a white border around them. With the move to Windows 11, they now have a white border around them, which is very uneasy on the eye and I would like to go back to how it used to look. Does anyone have a way to solve this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated!  Adam I attached a version of a thumbnail that has the white borders, and a correct one without the borders that Alfonso5EAF originally uploaded as reference. 

I have been generating  Microsoft HTML Help (.chm file) and Resposive HTML5 successfully with Robohelp 2020.7.46 for my project. The last succesful .chm file that I generated was 98,611KB. After adding quite a bit of content (with new topics, excel files, images), I attempted to generate a .chm however the file was twice the size (196,792KB) and it will not open with error "Cannot open the file: mk:@MSITStore:C:\file). The Responsive HTML5 generation with the same project is successful without any issues. Has anyone seen this error with the .chm file generation?? After I deleted some of the data that I added, I was succesful in getting the file to generate. However, when I try to add new data (not the same as previous add) to the project, it fails again with the same error listed above. Is there a thereshold that I am not aware of??? Has anyone run into this issue? 

Hi everyone,I'm on RH 2022.3.93 and I'm trying to edit the way my auto-created TOC in my PDF's front matter looks.We have a corporate standard for manuals and I'm trying to copy that to our RH template. However, I cannot find a CSS file for the TOC, so currently I cannot change the appearance of my TOC at all. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Hi guys, I'm having problens on generating a PDF file in a ultra big project that I have.I'm using the version 2022.0.346.When I try to generate it keeps generating for several days, but no file is actually generated. 

Issue: In the published ToC, the file name appears instead of the title.I am working in Rh version 2022.0.346 but have seen this issue happen in prior versions as well.In the project file, the file name is showing instead of the title. If I open the properties and click Apply, the topic updates and shows the title instead of the file name.I have 755 topic pages in my project and publish an update once a month. It is time consuming to check every topic each time to ensure it is publishing correctly.I have read RH-11277 and other postings in the Community like this one. I have not seen any issues with search returning file names instead of topic names.Anyone have any suggestions?

Hello All, When I generate PDF output, the following error message is getting displayed.Please help...

We want the Page title on our html pages to be the H1 or H2 heading of each article. We highlighted the headings created variables and then added them to the title field before exporting. something like {TitleHeading} . However when exporting the page title just shoes the {TitleHeading} not the actual variable and says "Variable not defined" . When we go back and look at the variables in robohelp the name and correct values are there. Is there something additional needed for the HTML export for that to pull correctly?

I need to systematically change the value of every variable in default.var with a script. The problem occurs when I attempt an XLIFF export on topics with the changed variables - for some reason, the XLIFF export uses the old variable value instead of the new one. I've tried clearing the cache, restarting the project, restarting the translation project and so on but nada. My question is, where does the XLIFF get the old values and how can I force it to use the new values? Illustration to make my point clear:1 - I have a topic where two variables, let's call them variable A and B, are used:2 - the values of variable A and B are changed (externally, with a script). In this example, they are changed to 'PLACEHOLDER'.3 - when exporting this illustration topic, I notice the XLIFF export fails to use the new PLACEHOLDER value.  ----------------Q: why does this even matter? Hi,I have come across an issue that occurs when using the Thumbnail option from the Image Content Properties view.If I select this option for an image (which I have done for pretty much all the images in my project), on selecting the Generate Preset option from the Output Presets view (Responsive HTML), all of the images that have thumbnail attributed, are duplicated in the Assets > Images folder. This occurs every time I generate the output, resulting in multiple iterations of the same image, which increase the file size of that folder significantly (see attached).It seems that RoboHelp only uses the latest iteration of the image it has generated for the output.The log file displays a warning – Failed to copy…. (see attached).Has anybody else had this issue?

RH 2019.0.14 New UII'm going through a lot of topics and want to mark items that I have to come back to afterwords for editing, etc.I thought I could just put a bookmark and return to it later, like it says on the Adobe online manual, but I can't figure out how. I was hoping I could flag all the areas in the project that need to be revisited, generate a list and then just link out from the list to the many bookmarks I've inserted in the project.Or ... are bookmarks not the right tool for this?Thanks and take care.

Hi all, i would request to provide a solution on the RoboHelp project output generation errorwhen I try to generate PDF output for my topic in my RoboHelp platform , I keep getting a java installation error even after installing the required java updates for the RoboHelp and also tried uninstalling the RoboHelp butother forms of output are generated without error like HTML and wordany RoboHelp experts or those who work on RoboHelp platforms kindly please provide your valuable suggestions

I have to admit I'm baffled. Maybe I'm expecting too much in this day and age  😉 I thought that RH would work like M$ Word; you create your contents using headings; generate a TOC and it works. Each time you update your Word doc, you just update the TOC and all is fine. Why can't RH work like this? In my short time using RH, I've found that:When I update the TOC, my Contents get rearranged alphabeticallyThis goes against reason; why can't I just lay out the skeleton of my project in Contents and RH maintains the structure?So ... as I'm trying to mimic how Word creates a TOC, without rearranging my content, I think that I have to:Number foldersEnsure the filenames of the Topics are numbered, within the folders, to maintain their proper order when the TOC gets automatically generated.I know I can drag TOC items around, but I want all of this organization to happen automatically. Also, if I have a folder and a Topic, within the same folder, do I have to us

I'm using 20223.93 on Windows.For one of my projects (not all), the output presets are missing from the RH UI. The files are present in the presets folder C:\path\to\RoboHelp Projects\this_project\publish\presets but they don't appear in the Output > Output Presets section: I've tried closing the project and exiting RoboHelp. Any ideas why this happened and how I can fix it? 

My Table of Contents is long enough that it has a scrollbar.  When I output my topics using a frameless template, the last visible entry is not clickable.  It’s there, and I can move the mouse cursor over it, but the cursor does not turn into a hand, and the entry cannot be selected. The problem appears to be with the location and not the entry.  For example, as shown below, when Rollout is at the bottom of the viewable entries, it is not clickable:  But if I scroll down so the entry is not at the very bottom, it is clickable:  The problem is that when I get to the point where the last entry in the TOC is shown, there is no way to select it with the mouse, and I cannot scroll down any further to move it out of this dead zone.  (I am able to get to it by using Tab and the arrow keys.) This seems like a bug, and I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered it.

Hello! I'm trying to generate a PDF output that I routinely generate without much problem. Today it is stuck in "Starting generation" and it never generates. I can't click the x icon to interrupt or stop the process. I updated RH yesterday but generated output successfully afterward. I have tried creating a new PDF output preset and generating that-- no success. I've also tried shutting down RH and restarting it and I've had no success there either. 

How can I update a Robohelp Classic 2019 project with Framemaker 2022?I updated to FM2022. On one workstation, we have no problems generating an RH Classic project with these FM data. On the 2nd workstation Robohelp tries to start FM 2019 and finds no data. What is the difference? Is there a setting? In the Explorer, I have set to start FM 2022  for fm and book files.Who can help?

After upgrading from RH2020 to RH2022.3, the content in mini TOCs now has an extra blank line between each entry.  What used to look like this: Now looks like this:The source code shows there is a <br> where there was not one before.Code from RH2020:Code from RH2022:I can't figure out how to remove the extra blank lines.(I thought maybe it was a CSS issue, because when I open a new project and add a mini TOC, it does not have the extra blank lines, but I don't know what in the CSS could be causing this.)

When I am navigating the Table of Contents and expanding menus, sometimes the menu rolls over the top of other text. Here is an example:   

Hi, Our company has asked us to migrate our Robohelp environment to another URL. To manage the change, we'd like to include a redirection link into each topic. Is it possible to include a variable including the RH file name into an html link? Thank you very much
