In the layout.css which is part of the template that I am using to generate the PDF, I assigned a left margin to the TOC entries. If the TOC entry spills to a second line, the margin is ignored. I tried setting some display options such as block to see if it would make a difference. It did not. Could this be a bug? If not, what setting an I missing? Here is a picture of what I am seeing in my generated TOC. The outlined area shows where it is ignoring the left margin. Thanks, in advance for your help.
I need to export all my manual content without headers, footers, images, hyperlinks as text only.Does RoboHelp have anything in-built for this, or should I look at custom solutions?
Hi, I was wondering if there's a way for deleting the Glossary button from the sidebar. I am using a HTML5 preset and Version 2022.1.188 of RoboHelp. I deleted the Glossary from the Glossary section (so it is empty at the moment)I deleted the icon from Templates > Sidebar Still, the Glossary icon is displayed in the Sidebar and I don't have a clue about what to do next.
I've just added a Topic and want to add it to the TOC. I do not want to Auto-generate the TOC and start organizing the TOC again. I should be able to just drag the Topic tab into the TOC? When I drop the Topic, nothing happens. How can I manually add this Topic to my existing TOC?Thanks and take care
Hi all, I'm using RoboHelp 2022.3.93 and having trouble publishing via SFTP. We've recently changed our hosting service to Azure, so I have to publish via SFTP now. When we were on the old servers I used to use File System, publish locally and then copy over to our servers because that was quicker. I was hoping to take advantage of the SFTP functions of Azure and publish directly to the server from RoboHelp. I get the following error, though:Error: connect: Timed out while waiting for handshake after 1 attemptI've set the publish profile up using exactly the same credentials I use with FileZilla. It works fine in FileZilla but just doesn't seem to be able to get past the first file with RoboHelp. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction? I'm using port 22 in RH, as I believe this is the default SFTP port in FileZilla. I've also tried 443 which is the port used to call Azure but that doesn't work either. Thanks in advance! 🙂&nbs
Hello everyone,I'm on RH 2022.3.93 and am working on our PDF output.I think my two issues might be related, so I'm posting them together:The manual I am creating is about 150 pages long. 1. It contains a lot of screenshots (png) - they appear fine. It also contains a bunch of svg files. While some of them appear correctly, others (especially towards the end of the document) are simply missing. Within RH, they are displayed correctly. <figure> <figcaption>802.1X RADIUS-Prozess (vereinfacht)</figcaption> <img class="framed-screenshot_125mm" src="../../../assets/images/Zeichnungen/WLAN/00108491_RADIUS-Prozess.svg" /> </figure> 2. I have created a <h5> style. No class, just h5. It is supposed to be bold, font-size 9 and margin-left is 45mm. Within the document, I get different results for my code: No further styles, just this code:In one case, it is displayed correctly (bold, with margin-left).<h5>Voraussetzung</h5
Robohelp Suggestions, RH-2022 context:Add a Preferences or a right-click to set default for #1 and #2: Allow a user to set a default output preset generate Allow a user to set a default for Content Properties: Collapsed or Expanded .rh folder: Provide an option to Delete or Purge .rh when doing Generate Frameless or provide a checkbox in Output Sidebar to purge .rh; (For Frameless it regularly introduces output bugs - one example is that the generated help shows the help FILE name in the generated help's topic name, including the underscores). The fix is to delete the .rh folder. Hint: it doesn't take long for the buggy output to crop up. At release time I am at risk of forgetting to delete the .rh folder so it would be very helpful to have a default option to delete .rh at generate time. Image Height and Width - Does not work consistently, is buggy. Fix UI so that if you click in one of the fields, the existing entry is cleared, and user can easily enter new number (or revert). With
In my PDF output preset, I have defined title and author in the Metadata section: I wish to also use this value in the front cover, which I assume is possible because there's a Metadata section when inserting Fields: However, outputting it results in an empty value in the output: Note: title gets passed to document properties, author did not: Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Hi, I wonder if some kind soul may be able to help me. I've generated content from RoboHelp 2022.3. I have a table of contents that has sections. For some of the sections, when I click an item in the TOC in the generated content it shows that page, however, it also expands another completely unrelated section in the table of contents. It happens with every page within a section, but not every section does this. I've checked the table of contents in RoboHelp multiple times and can find nothing that would cause this. I've been told that it may be a bug in RoboHelp, but I wondered whether anyone else had experienced this issue and if so whether they had found a way to stop it from happening. Thanks!
Hi everyone, I'm creating a welcome page for introducing the web-help that I wrote, I was wondering if it is possible to add buttons linked to topics / sections. Those button are not to be displayed in the toolbar but in the page itself. I'm using Version 2022.1.188 and a HTML5 template. Thanks!
Ever since I upgraded RoboHelp to version 2022, I can no longer import / link to a .csv, .json, .xml, or .zip file. In the older RoboHelp 2015 version, these files resided in the same main Project Files folder as the .docx, .pdf, and .xlsx files that were also in my project. During the upgrade of the project, the .csv, .json, .xml, and .zip files were moved to the \assets\misc folder while the .docx, .pdf, and .xlsx files were moved to the \assets\docs folder. When using the Hyperlink functionality, whether using the Project Files or Local Files radio options, the \assets\misc folder is not available to link from. Only the \assets\docs folder is available. Is this a bug with version 2022? Or is there a workaround that I've not thought of?
Hi,I'm using RH2022.3 and the Azure Blue responsive template. It appears to work well on an iPad, but when I view on a phone, any graphics are tiny. For example, on an iPad, I see:While on a phone, it is tiny.I realise they'll be small on a phone, but I need them to be a little larger than this. Is there a setting I've missed, or something I need to add to get the graphics to show as more than a tiny box on a phone? When I've had this problem on a website I coded myself, I needed to add the following code, but that doesn't seem to make any difference here.<metaname="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> Thanks.
- Are Java licenses provided as part of the contract/purchase from Adobe?- If not, which specific OpenJDK version is best supported?
When I publish small text or pic changes in RoboHelp (v2022.3.93), the changes don't show up in a browser (Firefox, Chrome), even if the page is reloaded. They always show up if I look at the local output. Usually they show up online if I use in-private browsing, sometimes they show up if I delete browser history. Since this doesn't happen when I change a simple (non-RoboHelp) web page, I have to believe it has something to do with how RoboHelp builds the pages. Anyone know what's going on? Any RoboHelp settings that might cause browsers to reload everything?
I tried microcontent in RH 2020 with frameless output and it works very well.Is it not possible to implement microcontent in RH 2020 with Responsive html5 output?
Does RoboHelp support another framework beside JavaHelp?
Hello everyone,I am working on an Adobe RoboHelp project that serves as the documentation for a software application. Our plan is to deploy this documentation on Microsoft Azure to make it available online. Our goal is to enable dynamic navigation from the software to the specific documentation. For this, we have utilized RoboHelp's mapping feature to map all the pages of the documentation. We intend to provide the mapping file to the software so that when a user requests information on a specific topic, they are directed to the appropriate online documentation page.My question is: Is it possible to set this up in such a way that the software can use the mapping file and the base URL of the documentation to generate the complete URL for the specific documentation page? If so, what might this URL look like? Which part of the mapping file would be used in the URL to ensure precise navigation?Any help or examples of similar implementations would be greatly appreciated.Thank you very much f
I am working with a frameless template (skin) in RH2022, and the Adobe help (https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/frameless-skin-editor.html) says, “Add the right panel buttons to the main toolbar in case you want to hide the right panel. ” I do want to hide the right panel, but there are no further instructions provided regarding how to go about adding the Print and Remove Highlight buttons to the main toolbar. Does anyone know how that might be done? Thanks.
Hello, I saw that someone (Alfonso5EAF) asked this question before with no reply. I recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 11. For work and organization we use a pdf thumbnail view on our files to visually sort through them quicker. The thumbnail images never had a white border around them. With the move to Windows 11, they now have a white border around them, which is very uneasy on the eye and I would like to go back to how it used to look. Does anyone have a way to solve this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Adam I attached a version of a thumbnail that has the white borders, and a correct one without the borders that Alfonso5EAF originally uploaded as reference.
I have been generating Microsoft HTML Help (.chm file) and Resposive HTML5 successfully with Robohelp 2020.7.46 for my project. The last succesful .chm file that I generated was 98,611KB. After adding quite a bit of content (with new topics, excel files, images), I attempted to generate a .chm however the file was twice the size (196,792KB) and it will not open with error "Cannot open the file: mk:@MSITStore:C:\file). The Responsive HTML5 generation with the same project is successful without any issues. Has anyone seen this error with the .chm file generation?? After I deleted some of the data that I added, I was succesful in getting the file to generate. However, when I try to add new data (not the same as previous add) to the project, it fails again with the same error listed above. Is there a thereshold that I am not aware of??? Has anyone run into this issue?
Hi everyone,I'm on RH 2022.3.93 and I'm trying to edit the way my auto-created TOC in my PDF's front matter looks. We have a corporate standard for manuals and I'm trying to copy that to our RH template. However, I cannot find a CSS file for the TOC, so currently I cannot change the appearance of my TOC at all. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Hi guys, I'm having problens on generating a PDF file in a ultra big project that I have.I'm using the version 2022.0.346.When I try to generate it keeps generating for several days, but no file is actually generated.
Issue: In the published ToC, the file name appears instead of the title.I am working in Rh version 2022.0.346 but have seen this issue happen in prior versions as well.In the project file, the file name is showing instead of the title. If I open the properties and click Apply, the topic updates and shows the title instead of the file name.I have 755 topic pages in my project and publish an update once a month. It is time consuming to check every topic each time to ensure it is publishing correctly.I have read RH-11277 and other postings in the Community like this one. I have not seen any issues with search returning file names instead of topic names.Anyone have any suggestions?
Hello All, When I generate PDF output, the following error message is getting displayed. Please help...
We want the Page title on our html pages to be the H1 or H2 heading of each article. We highlighted the headings created variables and then added them to the title field before exporting. something like {TitleHeading} . However when exporting the page title just shoes the {TitleHeading} not the actual variable and says "Variable not defined" . When we go back and look at the variables in robohelp the name and correct values are there. Is there something additional needed for the HTML export for that to pull correctly?
