When linking Premiere with After Effects, the screen goes black in After Effects, and Premiere displays a red layer, indicating image loss.

After two years since Spectrum 2 was announced, I expected to see something at the recent Adobe MAX, but that wasn't the case.A year ago some minor changes were introduced to AE, but I was wondering if in the coming months we will actually see a redesign based on Spectrum 2. Thanks team.

It's a minor thing, but often I have longer filenames and have been using comments to keep track of some things as well. However, if the text is too long, the source / file name gets an ellipsis at some point in the middle of the text, and comments are simply truncated (and sometimes it is not even obvious that this is happening). Making the columns wider helps, but then takes up valuable screen real estate.  Would be great to show a tooltip with the full text when the mouse hovers over these. It honestly is a feature that seems standard in many UIs, and I was expecting one to appear initially when I first started messing with After Effects.

On MacOS, After Effects Beta 25.5, After Effects 25.4, After Effects 25.3, 25.1 this issue seeems universal on my device. Downgrading to AE 24 or AE 25.0 seems to fix this problem.All settings are default. All plugins uninstalled. Shutter speed is 180 and -90. So this is not the issue at hand.No matter what I try, when in a composition, on any image file format (gif, jpeg, png, webp), after a keyframe is put down with motion blur, the motion blur persists and remains a constant. When clearing the cache, the issue goes away. The video renders without this motion blur error, so the error is unique to preview/cache.

We are excited to announce the public beta release of Windows on ARM native support in After Effects 25.6 build 7! We expect After Effects to run on all Qualcomm Snapdragon X-based laptops and tablets.We do have some known issues that differ from those in the emulated beta, and we will update as we resolve them: Lack of format support, mostly notably ProRes (supported as of 25.6 build 34), but also including ARRIRAW, SWF, GoPro CinePro, JPEG20000 in MXF, and WMV. These formats cannot be imported or exported. This means that the High Quality and High Quality with Alpha settings will default (with a helpful warning) to the uncompressed QuickTime codec. No import of MotionJPEG and MKV. No hardware accelerated playback & export of H.264 and HEVC in MP4. (Playback supported as of 25.6 build 66) Keylight and Mocha are not yet available (there is a warning about them being missing on launch). After replacing a sequence with an After Effects composition, the clip is not visible.

We’re thrilled to introduce Lossless Compressed Playback, now available in After Effects beta (starting with version 26.0x8).  This new feature takes composition playback to the next level — letting you preview longer durations while using significantly less disk space. The links added refer to my old discussion and ideas posts on those topics.   I'd like to see OCIO platform being updated to the latest version which includes built-in ACES 2.0 configs. I also want to stress again that ACES 1.2 should really be removed. By the time OCIO support was released it was already superseeded by ACES 1.3 which uses formula based transforms and there is no reason to keep these dependencies (430Mb of LUT files) in the installation and the config exposed to the user.  If users for whatever reason still want to use a legacy config they can download it themselves. LINK   Especially with ACES 2.0 it would be quite stupid to have 3 configs of ACES 1 still in the software making it a list of 5 configs... LINK   Also the ACES 1.3 configs should be updated to from config-v1.0.0_aces-v1.3_ocio-v2.1 to config-v2.2.0_aces-v1.3_ocio-v2.4   It would be nice in general to see more love for OCIO support in AE. Is there a way to access the "Mesh type" property(?) of the new ParametricMeshLayer (Cube, Sphere, Plane etc)? I tried but can't find a way.

We’re excited to announce a new feature in After Effects: you can now Alt/Option-drag layers in the Composition panel to instantly duplicate them. This works in both 2D and 3D compositions and is a first step toward the broader “Alt/Option duplicate all the things” workflow the community has requested. With this update, we’ve also addressed the overlap between Alt/Option-drag for duplicating layers and its previous uses: In 3D compositions, Alt/Option-drag can either duplicate layers or activate camera navigation tools. You can choose your preferred behavior in Preferences, and a one-time dialog will help you set this up the first time you use it. Alt/Option-drag previously activated wireframe mode to prevent rendering while held. Releasing Alt/Option now renders the newly duplicated layers. Steps to reproduce:    1. During tracking operations, as soon as an error message pops up - tracking layer "later 1 terminited prematurely" the software crashes and cannot be worked with. Result: the software crashes You need to do a force quit to crash the Mocha software.Expected: After you click OK on the message, the software will continue to work as usual.This problem does not exist. System info    Application: After Effects (Beta) v26.0.0.8    OS: macOS v15.6.0, RAM: 96.00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 24

Hello, i'm having this same issue: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta-discussions/rotobrush-2-selection-expansion-issue/td-p/11641878 only, literally nothing will fix it. i've used rotobrush many times for years, on this same laptop/version of ae (completely updated)  and I have never had this issue before. it has always worked fine until now. im using the same settings on my footage that I always do. I tried everything suggested in the linked discussion, and nothing has fixed it so far. this happens when i try both rotobrush 2.0 and 3.0, and im not interested in using 1.0... any help would be greatly appreciated.

While test driving the latest beta I realized the orientation of Environment Light env maps is incorrect. Here is an example of a simple scene with a metal and rough ball so it's clear.   Would also love to have the ability to use effects on an environment map assigned layer source (.exr/.hdr) so we do not have to precomp it. The reason is for doing things like this but also potentially grading your HDR map.   I think most of this annoyance can be solved by implementing environment map rotation controls for all axes in the Environment Light.

Starting with After Effects Beta build 26.0x8, we are introducing 3 new built-in audio effects, the first time in more than 20 years that new audio effects have been added to After Effects.   Gate - Your Audio Noise Door The Gate effect silences audio that falls below a certain volume threshold. It's perfect for cleaning up noisy recordings, removing background hiss, or creating dramatic audio cuts.     Key Parameters: Threshold (dB): Range -60dB to 0dB (default: -60dB). Audio below this level gets muted. Set it just above your background noise level. Attack (ms): Range 0-1000ms (default: 10ms). How quickly the gate opens when audio exceeds the threshold. Fast attack = immediate opening, slow attack = gradual fade-in. Hold (ms): Range 0-2500ms (default: 40ms). How long the gate stays open after audio drops below threshold. Prevents rapid on/off switching. Release (ms): Range 5-4000ms (default: 220ms). How quickly the gate closes once the hold time expires. Fast release

I get this error when I try to render anything from the render queue. Hey everyone,I’m running into a strange issue. When I select a clip in Premiere Pro and use “Replace with After Effects Composition,” it opens After Effects but creates an empty comp,no media, no layers, nothing.I’ve already tried restarting both apps, saving my Premiere project before linking, and making sure I’m selecting an actual video clip (not an adjustment layer or nested sequence). Still the same result.Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what could be causing it?Specs:Premiere Pro version: Latest BetaAfter Effects version: Latest BetaOS: Win 11Thanks in advance!

I tried to increase the volume of my system (volume icon, "taskbar") my screen froze and went black and then that error came out! my GPU is a Gtx 1660 (driver studio last update "yesterday") this problem already It even comes from 2023 but before it did not give this message... it only turned the screen black and in the worst case the video was not given again but rather I restarted the pc

 While working, the screen suddenly goes black and then this error appears... I'm using a 2060 Super. I updated the driver, but the problem still happens. How can I fix this problem?

When exporting an AE project via AME it tells me that hardware exporting is not available.  Newest nVidia 5080 is in place. AE 25.6.0 Build 88i7 11700K processornVidia 5080 with Studio Driver 

I'm using Mesh Warp a lot on my current project, and it's infuriating how every time I drag one of the Mesh Warp points, after about 1 second of successful dragging, the point gets "dropped" and just stops moving, as if AE has said "you've had long enough to position this point, THIS is where it's going". Obviously the point should remain "live" for as long as I'm dragging it around. (And I'm not dragging anything weird - I have a 2 x 3 grid on a 1080x1920 comp which has 2 layers, both of which are reasonably sized). This bug exists on both the Beta version and the latest public release. System info    Application: After Effects (Beta) v24.5.0.32    OS: Windows v10.0.19045, RAM: 127.91 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 32
