Hi. I was manually adjusting the gain of my two tracks, but then tried dragging them into Match Loudness after the fact. When Match Loudness is applying itself, is it calculating True Peak, etc based on my original audio (it seems that way) or is it making its calculations based on the gain changes I've already applied? I actually do not like the sound that Match Loudness creates, but would like to use that panel to measure Perceived Loudness of my tracks so I can manually adjust accordingly. Thank you for your thoughts and any ideas on best practices for adjusting audio based on perceived loudness are most welcome.
If I change anything in the waveform view, when I save, it just freezes. On the bottom right corner, it shows this: Most recently it happened when trying to save after converting a sample type. I use Windows 10 on a year-old HP Spectre x360. Saving to a brand new external hard drive via usb c.
Does anyone know how to fix a problem with Audition CC? When I choose Generate - Speech, and then type in the text; it repeats phrases which I have to manually remove in the finished audio file. Thanks for your help.
Hi There, I'm new to Audition CC and I'm working on a project with two audio tracks.I record a conversation with two people with two different mics, so I got two different audio tracks. Now I would like to sync them together but also I want to cut out some audio and keep them in sync. But I can't find how to do this.
I have a lot of cassettes I have to convert. Best setup for these that are of 1 person talking? No singing just talking.

I have a session in which I recorded vocals and mixed an entire song, and when I attempt to export the song, I get an error message, and the program crashes. I looked around and noticed that for some reason, the session was recorded in 32 bit floating format, I changed the sample rate in the waveform editor, but when I attempt to export the project again, it's not allowing me to choose any rate under 3s bit; I'm guessing that this is the problem - as other sessions aren't having this issue; I went to another session (that wasn't mixed), and the mixdown was successful. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Audition, and a still encountering this issue. Anyone have any idea as to what is casuing this, and how to prevent/an alternative to exporting the music? I also attempted to copy/paste the project into a separate session I opened inside the same project, and it crashed again.
I am trying to remaster a commercial album. I am editing WAVs of the songs. The album was mixed and mastered loud and shrill. I would describe the sound as ear grating. Before I’m half way through the album I experience ear fatigue. My goal is to remove the harsh edge to the sound but I am not technical and really have no idea what I’m doing, working off a couple YouTube videos and google attempts. Here is a sample of the original waveforms. First I applied light declipper, with gain between -4 and -8db. Everything else default. Then I apply FTT and tried to identify the frequencies causing the grating sound. They seem to be in the range of 10-24KHz, so I created a very basic curve that follows a more natural frequency response. Overdoing can make the album sound muffled, but somewhere in the -12 to -18 range seems to be the right area to still retain the tone but remove that sharp edge. I’m not trying to completely remix the album, just make it a little more ear fri
I've got a piece of audio that was captured outdoors in a barnyard area. It's an interview with a farmer and in a couple places, the birds (chickens & geese) get a bit excited and make quite a bit of noise. Enough that it interferes with the dialogue. Doesn't completely obscure the dialogue, but does compete with it. I want to try to pull down the level of the birds and am wondering what the best way to do that may be.I've opened the Spectral Frequency Display and I can see, where the birds are most evident, the frequencies bump up into the 7k to 15k range. This is as I would expect. Would I be best to try to use a graphic equalizer and pull those frequencies down? Or might I be better to split the stream using the Frequency Band Splitter and work on the specific frequencies that way? Or is there another approach that may be better?I'm not looking to eliminate the birds. This isn't TV cop drama where anything is possible. I just
Dear All,I would like to get in touch with someone knowledgeable on license policies for obsolete versions of Adobe Audition.I'm fond of bioacoustics, and in recent years I've been publishing a few scientific papers with spectrograms and frequency analyses based on Adobe Audition 1.0 (a regular license that I obtained by upgrading from Cool Edit Pro). Now I have a one-day bioacoustics workshop to organize, and I've been asked to install on the Windows PC's of the participants the same tool (Adobe Audition 1.0) that I'm using.I don't understand whether I may release to other users my license key on those PC's with impunity.Does Adobe actively pursue that kind of violation related with such an old release of Adobe Audition? In other words: may I duplicate my installation on other similar PC's (Windows 7) without risking a legal action by Adobe? After all, several websites offer cracked keys of more recent versions of the same software - but I would prefer sort of an authorizatio
I haven't the foggiest clue as to what has happened to my audio. I had to dismantle my mic for a trip along with my mixer board, and now that I'm back home and on my computer, the audio can't even get past 10hz. Any advice on how I can remedy this? How it normally looks: How it looks now:
Hi all, following on from a previous thread (Re: Editing - faster selection of audio segments ) ...Now that i am able to isolate areas of speech from "silent" areas using markers, i'm wondering if there is a way to apply the "sound removal" process to JUST the areas defined as silent, i.e. the areas outside the markers? if you look closely at the "silent" area in the screenshot, you will see a slight blip around 15:01.2I'm producing audiobooks and have an annoying, involuntary "flap" sound that my throat makes from time to time before taking a breath. It only registers about -43.5db, but still, i'd like to be able to clean it up! I have captured the sound and can remove it very effectively if i only apply the process to the silent area, but if i apply it to the whole file it totally destroys the main audio of my voice.I want to be able to apply the process to the whole file in one go. At the moment, i'm taking them out manually as i go and it's fiddly and time-consuming.Any ideas? Chee
This Morning I was ready to start adding effects to all my laid out sounds in Audition only to open the file and receive the following error:Error: Invalid plugin import settings provided.Everything I did the day before yesterday was there except the work done yesterday. I have checked my auto-saves to see if there is any session I could recover but even the auto-saves for yesterday was not updated. I imported a Premiere Pro file to use the video as reference but even the information from there is not showing up. Has this happened to anyone before? Is it even remotely possible to recover?I use Audition CC 2018.
Hi,I like to create with Loop samples. Let's say I import a drum loop that is 126 BPM to start with. Then I want to import a SYNTH sample that is at 120 BPM. Assume I want to keep the song at 126.How do I set the SYNTH at 120 to be exactly 126 BPM?Is there an easy process? I've worked in CUBASE before and it has a very user friendly function for this 'beat matching' process. Help Ian
Hi all, I produce audiobooks and have been looking for ways to streamline my editing process. I use keyboard shortcuts 99% of the time. I use mostly arrow keys and ctrl+shift to select regions of audio that i need to delete or otherwise manipulate. What i'm looking for is a way to skip the selection forward or backward to the next or previous significant slice of audio quickly without having to hold down the arrow key, which is a hit and miss affair anyway.I've investigated using zero crossings, but this doesnt seem to work very well as it is far too fine a method of adjustment, it seems to see zero crossing everywhere, even in apparently empty sections. I've also seen in the pdf manual i have that it mentions "find beats" which sounds like it might work for me but my version of audition doesn't seem to have it.Does anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks.
I am trying to load a .mp4 video into Adobe Audition CC and it won't preview. All I am getting is a green screen. I tried using a .mov file as well, and then it turned white. Audio plays fine, but the video won't show. Both files were not corrupted and imported without any problems into Premiere. I updated audition and then it worked. I started working on the project, saved and exited. When I open the project again the problem is back. And yes, I tried restarting my computer, and I tried googling the problem. No one seems to have the same issue...
I would like to copy 3D data (time, frequency and level) of the "Spectral View " in Adobe Audition in order to post-process these data for exemple in a spreadsheet is it possible ?is there someone able to develop an add-on for me?edmond
I have a multitrack edit session with a variety of audio files and realtime FX applied. I would like to save it as I have always been able to do as sesx file. The options to save and save as are greyed out and I am stumped. I was able to mixdown to a new wave file and use the result, but if I close Audition I will never be able to edit it again as it will be gone. Not cool.Has anyone else run into this?
I have to convert a number of audio files to joint stereo, but I don't see this option under Convert Sample Type.If someone can tell me how to do this in Audition I would be most grateful.
Hi everyone,I've been having this issue for the past month, trying to find an answer/workaround. I am doing the sound mix for a feature that came out of Premiere (selected edit, edit in audition, entire sequence, export video, no dynamic link) and every time Audition needs to restart for whatever reason, the clips are "loading" for what is most likely 12 hours. This is an approximate because I've been opening it in the morning before I go to work and editing/mixing when I get home. The load time is definitely not fast enough considering premiere could load the whole project in just under 5 minutes including all the audio and video clips. There's only one very small video file in this Audition projet. There is no specific error message, just a ridiculous amount of greyed out clips with a "loading" circle on them.My computer specs:OS X El Capitan v 10.11.64 GHz Intel Core i724GB memory, 1600 MHz DDR3Audition specs:2017.1 releaseBuild 10.1.0.174I am using an external hard drive which hous
Why I can not record a stereo? My adobe AU only records mono, although the settings I made for stereo. Please help me. Thank you.Hello !!!I do not know for what reasons my Adobe Audition 2018 writing only in one channel, i.e. mono. Could you help me deal with this technical riddle? I need a stereo recording. I have synced two mic sources from a two camera shoot, one mic on each camera. When synced they sound like an echo, but separate they sound just fine. One clip has 48000Hz - 16 bit - 4 channelsSecond clip has 48000Hz - 24bit - 8 channelsCan this be fixed in Audition somehow? Thanks!
Hi, expert user here with, not a critical, but an annoying problem that's started occurring; As an auditioning Voice actor, I record and save heaps of mp3s per day. As regular Audition users know - any new file defaults to being saved as a wave file.I used to be able to switch to mp3 format, enter the filename and save. bang - done! But a few weeks ago, to experiment, I decided to type in a random sample rate - like 37,789 hz - to see if you could actually save to truly custom sample rates (as the dialog box seems to allow). But when I went to save it told be that mp3 only supports 44,100 hz - fair enough. And the system then took me to the box to convert and then save. But ever since I did that Audition has by default rejected any sample rate in the box for mp3 files, including 44100 (as shown in this screenshot by the warning triangle). All I have to do to reset it and make it work is to click the change next to the triangle, accept this dialog, and then save, but I'm adding clicks and m
