InDesign

インデザイン2024（19.5.5)を使用しています。オブジェクトが分断されるバグがあるのですが、同じようなバグが起きている報告を見かけません。一時的なものなので、拡大縮小をすれば解決します。 また、スクロールしても画面が変わらないバグも起きます。こちらはファイルを開き直せば解決します。 これは使用しているパソコンが古いのが原因なのでしょうか？インデザインが原因であれば解決法を知りたいです。 使用しているiMacはiMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)です。

I updated to InD 2026 today (on 12/17/25) and am already ready to go back to InD 2025.  So far ... Even though I properly save and close a document before exiting InD, the next time I open InD, I get a message that says that the same document is damaged and would I like to open anyway.InD 2026 is not remembering my choices.  I have to reset to my preferred workspace each time I open. When I save and close a document only using the keyboard, the whole program closes instead.InD also won't hold my View setting. I like to work with Overprint Preview on all the time (I have plenty of RAM), but it won't stick. These are things I've noticed just in one day. Anyone else having trouble? Is it worth sticking it out? Does it get any better? 

Ciao a tutti, dopo aver effettuato l'aggionramento all'ultima versione di Indesign noto un comportamento anomalo della finestra del programma. Se richiamo per esempio la finestra del browser in primo piano, poi clicco nuovamente sulla finestra di Indesign per richiamarla e spostarla, questa sparisce sotto e non c'è modo di riportarla in primo piano. Per fare questo non devo cliccare tipo due volte ma premere una volta sola con il puntatore e trascinarla. È normale questo comportamento?

Seit dem neuesten InDesign Update kann ich innerhalb des Dokuments kein abweichendes Seitenformat mehr anlegen - endlose Auswahlliste, die nicht funktioniert.Offenbar nicht kompatibel mit Windows 11, das ist nicht der einzige Fehler, strg "Z" funktioniert nur noch für einen Schritt, katastrophal, Schriftkasten wird ständig weiß und die Schrift unsichtbar.Kostet mich abartig viel Zeit. Ältere Versionen sind nicht mehr verfügbar, ich würde sofort deinstallieren.Arbeite seit mehr als 20 Jahren in InDesign, so fehlerbehaftet war noch nie ein Update. Hoffentlich ist das bald behoben.

This is the 2nd page of a table with 1 header row. On the first page the columns align, but not here and not elsewhere in the table. Is there a way to adjust column widths of only some rows? Thanks

• If I click on the slider for a tint, it just collapses the slider. I have to type in manually• Same with choosing a stroke thickness• Lost ability to add an arrowhead to a stroke, start or end Will restart but Mac was off all weekend. Brutal V20.5MacBookPro Sequoia 15.6.1 

Hi team, I’m currently facing a problem. This is the second time my InDesign file has encountered Error Code 6 and become damaged. I’m unable to open the file. I urgently need this file at the moment, so I would really appreciate your help in fixing it. Thank you.

aqui no brasil, temos uma meta de no máximo 1/3 da página para o uso da nota de rodapé, quando é muito grande, no entanto isso é impossível com o indesign que parece não ter limite para o tamanho da altura da nota do rodapé.Atualmente, o algoritmo de notas de rodapé do InDesign é agressivo demais. Mesmo com "Allow Split Footnotes" ativado, o programa prioriza manter a nota na mesma página da referência até atingir a margem inferior. I found a posting that was a couple of years old for this same issue but there was no resolution, so I figured I'd try a new post.  We just upgraded to the latest version of InDesign, and on this current version, the windows file permissions are not getting assigned correctly on new files created from within InDesign.  It is not inheriting the permissions from the windows folder, and that folder is being shared to another computer, so any files created that way are not visible to the other computer.  This did work correctly with the old version of InDesign (which was 2020).  Any files created in the folder outside of InDesign are getting the correct permissions.  Both computers are Windows 11 Pro computers.  Resetting the preferences did not fix the issue. Thanks for any help!

All week I have been receiving the "there was an error updating the artifact" message when trying to update content on my share for review link. I have tried creating a new link (and then transferring all comments over) and am still getting the same error. We rely heavily on this for team collaboration on a tight deadline, and this has been a big problem. Please advise for a quick resolution.

Currently, InDesign’s footnote algorithm is too aggressive. Even with "Allow Split Footnotes" enabled, the program prioritizes keeping the footnote text on the same page as the reference until it hits the bottom margin. This often results in the footnote occupying 80-90% of the page, leaving only one or two lines of the main body text at the top.We need a way to constrain the footnote area, such as:A "Maximum Height" field (in mm/pt) for the footnote container per page.A "Maximum Page Percentage" option (e.g., limit footnotes to 25% of the text frame).When this limit is reached, the footnote should automatically split and continue on the next page, regardless of how much space is left in the current frame. The current workarounds (changing Keep Options or adjusting Bottom Insets manually) are inefficient for long documents and prone to errors during reflow.

Yet, illustrator 2026, Photoshop 2026, LrC etc are good with it. 

Has anyone placed a text border on a Hello Bloomie font in InDesign? All of the "brush" fonts have a ragged border, but Hello Bloomie letters seems to have some kind of hidden frame which scatters little dots around the area marking the frame of each letter. I thought it was the text frame, but it wasn't. This seems to happen only with contrasting colors, not black on white (paper). None of the Script/Brush fonts I tried had this problem. I ended up using a similar Adobe font (Tough Love) but need to learn more about the behavior of Adobe fonts--fills, borders and effects. Thank you for your attention.

Instalei a última versão do InDesign e, desde então, tenho tido alguns problemas. Por exemplo, não consigo exportar o documento em PDF. Aparece a mensagem a dar erro e o programa fecha automaticamente. O que poderá estar a a acontecer? Obrigada.

HiI work for a large orgisation with multiply Creative Cloud licences under one umbrella. If I was to create an intractive indesign URL file and share to clients would this url still work if I left the originastion? is the file linked to my creative cloud account or is it linked to the overall account and therefore still work? Thanks

I want to know if the revision option can be updated for adobe indesign, as the option is turning as a boon for all designers who want to revert for the version which they had done before saving the latest edition, which was problematic.

I tried to open my InDesign file and opened partially but I got the prompt "Could not complete your request because of a database error. The file "03_3話_F190701A_HP" is damaged (Error code:6)." From CC Fonts I installed Wingdings 3, not realizing Wingdings 1 was already being used. The Type panel gave an error message about Duplicate font. I uninstalled all Wingdings, but since then I am unable to load any Glyphs from the panel. No matter which Font I select, when I open the Type>Glyph Panel I get a Report Error message and after I send report InDesign shuts down.The only clue I have is in another instance I saved a font to a "Library" which I named. After that, when I opened indd files, versions of that font went missing. Once I deleted those libraries, everything came back.This time, however, I haven't touched the installed font families.

Could someone please advise me on what I’m doing wrong? Every time I add a table of contents and tick the Balance Ranged Lines feature it doesn’t work inside the table. I end up having to force return which isn’t ideal as I copy and paste this into my mailing. This issue is consistent across all six newsletters. Please help.In normal text this works perfectly. 

Hi. Very much an InDesign newbie and I'm standing in a painful medical boot or a maybe stress fracture, so be kind. I've skimmed many posts here, watched relevant YouTube videos, and spent a few hours with Google's AI which appears to know InDesign well.  So pardon me if I repeat others' posts. I signed on for a year of InD in order to selfPub two novels based on my first selfPub that was formatted by pros at Booknook. Despite minor stumbling blocks (I failed to get my indb book's add-chapter plus sign to let me navigate to my indd chapters in Creative Cloud so I had to resave them to my computer where they don't have autosave; and styles looked like too much to learn [I've never used them in Word] so I did a lot manually), I've set up my book Double Time as an indb book with all 43 chapters formatted manually. Hi there I am working on a large size document. Each page has a mxitures of elements, tables, text boxes and images. When I go about moving pages around. The elements on a lot of the pages move completely around and overlap each other. It is a disaster It takes me hours to fix each pages again  I am not sure why this is happening. It is happening a lot.  Would anyone know why?

My CC Library locks up and becomes unusable without fully relaunching InDesign when I close one file and open the next. I have tried clearing the cache, deleting and recreating the library, and even checked the host files. I am also running a fully up to date InDesign on a Mac using Sequoia. Is anyone else having this issue or does anyone have a solution? I work on upwards of 50 InDesign documents a day and it is a real time suck to  have to relaunch the software with each file.  This issue has also slowly gotten worse because it used to only lock up once a day.

Hi, I originally created a cover design in Illustrator and placed that in Indesign for my project. When previewed in Indesign it looks as desired (image 1) when exported to PDF the black of the foreground shape changes and doesn't match the illustration in the background (image 2). I've tried changing the format of the file that I place in Indesign (Ai file, tiff file) and the same thing happens. I'm unsure if its just a crappy print preview on the PDF and it will actually print as desired or if it will print like the PDF displays. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt
