Hey, since the recent update, I'm getting a lot of complaints from my writers that they can no longer proof from mobile, using the Share For Review links I send them. They can pinch to zoom, but they are unable to scroll around the page.On iPhone the situation is even worse. Tapping the page icon at the bottom of the screen brings up a navigation system, however this frequently fails to update the page viewer. Tapping on the desired page in the navigation bar, will frequently see the selected page revert to the previous one when the user taps on the updated page in the viewer space.Having tested it all myself on both Android and iPhone, I can confirm that the system is very broken from what it once was. I hope this is on your radar to fix as soon as possible. Thanks.

I'm wanting to show one word in my autocloseAlert message (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/autoclosealert-customconfirm-and-customprompt-messages/td-p/15255213) in bold for emphasis (specifically in FrameMaker, but it's more a ScriptUI question). Standard ideas don't work. For example:AutocloseAlert("This is a <b>test</b>.)Displays literally "This is a <b> test </b>."Other variations like assingning test to a variable and then using variable.bold do the same thing.Is this not supported by ScriptUI, or is there a workaround that I haven't found?Thanks!

Hi,I’m having an issue with Illustrator patterns when exporting an InDesign file to PDF version 1.3.During export, the pattern from one artboard extends onto all the remaining artboards and continues seamlessly, instead of repeating independently on each artboard. For comparison, there are two files: “ark.pdf” and “ark-no_transparent.pdf”, where the latter exports correctly.The file Master.pdf is linked to ark.indd, from which ark.pdf is exported.The same setup applies to the files with the “-no_transparent” suffix.The file with patterns exports incorrectly when transparency is used.I’m attaching the files.

I noticed that InDesign has the option in my Preferences ► "GPU Performance" greyed out, so it cannot be selected. It also says "Compatible GPU and Monitor not detected". Underneath in the section "GPU Details", it recognises the RTX 3070 Ti correctly. Since Windows 11 now handles GPU Performance (not Nvidia), I did select "High Performance" for the correct indesign.exe file within the Windows 11 Graphics settings.   - I am using InDesign Version 21.0.2- I reset the InDesign preferences- GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX070 Ti with 8GB- Windows 11 Pro- Nvidia Studio Driver latest (updated today). In all other Adobe apps this is not a problem. It's only in InDesign (all versions). Any ideas?

For the past few months I’ve been experiencing extreme slowness when changing the settings of a paragraph. For example, when I click on the drop-down menu to choose the font size, the list of sizes opens after 2–3 seconds. After I click on a size, the drop-down menu takes the same amount of time to close. This slowness affects almost all paragraph options. I also tried disabling the “Preview” checkbox at the bottom left, but this does not solve the problem.Note: The issue does not depend on the file size (it also happens with virtually empty files with a single page).

Like the title says, I am looking for a GREP command that would allow me to find and replace bullet styles that come right before my body styles. Ideally I would be able to find all bullets that come right before body text and replace them with a style that has more spacing after it. This is so I can have a little extra space between bullets and Body – while keeping normal spacing between different tiers of bullets. (Using the "space between same style" creates awkward spacing between bullets of different tiers.) I hope this makes sense!  - and if this does not exist, it would be a great feature to add. That, or an option within paragraph styles that allows for the styles to behave differently when followed by another, specific, style. Thanks!

Hi everybody, I have an script running in InDesign CC 2024 and I'm using idle functionalitiy to run some stuff in background. That workes fine when InDesign is the active application. But when I put another app in foreground and InDesign is not the active application the script stops working.Is there a awy to change that? The script should continue even if InDesign is in background or minimized. Thanks for any advice.Klaus

Hi, when I merge an InDesign document to pdf, old data populates the merge fields in the newly created pdf. However, the correct .csv file has been selected and in Preview mode the correct data is showing. Can anyone assist?

There's a book I'm working on that I want to have printed on multiple paper stocks. Most of the book will be printed on white paper, but parts of it will be printed on black paper. So far I can only figure out how to change the paper color of all the document's pages, not just some of them. Is there a way to change the paper color for just some pages? And, how do I know what pages the other side of the piece of black paper will be on when InDesign? I plan on printing 2-up Saddle Stitch and it'd be nice if InDesign could calculate where the other half of the black paper will be so that I can factor that into how I design the book. Also, it's important that the pages be printed on different stocks because there's a textural difference in addition to the color difference, so printing a black background with bleed and then trimming the paper isn't a viable option for me.

I'm using InDesign 21 on Windows 11.I have a large document set up in a book file and divided into chapters. The Title page plus TOC file is 11 pages long. Chapter 1 starts on page 12.In the TOC, Chapter 1 is listed as starting on page 4, and all the subsequent page numbers in the TOC are off by 8 pages. I have updated the page numbers in the book file and updated the TOC.Here's the start of the TOC:In the chapter 1 file, the page number is showing (correctly) as page 12.It seems like the TOC is generating the page numbers based on a one-page TOC.

In my workplace I use PC and when I try to use the Keyboard Shortcuts for 'Create Outline' it is not possible. Nothing happened. I have to use the Type menu and schroll down. Why does it not work?In my home I use an MacBook Pro and there is no problem.Br.Carsten Bøwig

Hello. I want the dot (leader?) in my contents page to have wider spacing. That is to say the page name, dots then page number. The dots are always the same spacing. I have tried adjusting the tabs section of the relevant paragraph style but this makes no difference?

I’m tryng to achieve the “perfect” left aligned text as you see in the picture. I can kern and track the text myself, but for magazines it takes way to much time. I’ve tried looking for a script with not much luck and the scripts I made myself are not super useful. does anybody know if there are scripts for InDesign to achieve this effect?IMG_3431.jpeg 

I’ve created an InDesign document with multiple pages, where each page begins a new section and the text frames are not linked across pages. Is there a way to import a Word document so the text flows seamlessly throughout the InDesign file? Do I need to set up continuous, linked text frames beforehand, or is there a quicker method to achieve this?

Hello, I have a script that worked very nicely until I started using a table. The table is in multiple linked text frames. My script successfully removes table rows that are empty, but then I am left with some empty pages. My function to remove these empty pages is not working anymore, because it is now a table instead of plain text. It used to work by identifying whether all text frames on the page were empty, and then delete the page. However, when I find the contents of the table in the text frame, it will give me the full contents of the table for the first page, and then claim that the (linked) text frame on the next page is empty.It also claims there is no table on the second and third pages (I assume due to the linking of text frames). My question, then, how I can obtain the information that there is, in fact, a table inside the text frames on the subsequent pages? E.g.: app.activeDocument.pages[2].textFrames.everyItem().tables.everyItem().contents;retur

Hello, I’m having an issue with generating an index in InDesign. I received a Word file from the editor that contains all the index topics, but some of them appear in InDesign without a reference to the text. As a result, the index doesn’t generate completely.Do you know where the problem might be? The advice on the Adobe website didn’t help me.Thank you.

Hi, can anyone help me with the tables? I'm creating a spare parts catalog, so I have an Excel file with data sorted in ascending order from bottom to top in column A. In my InDesign spreadsheet, I'd like the data to start from the bottom left and continue in the same table on the right, always starting from the bottom. I'm trying to set text frame options with 2 columns and vertical justification from the bottom, but unfortunately I can't get this result (which I created manually by moving the cells in Excel).
