Photoshop

On occasion when trying to use a tool from the toolbar, a hand appears where the curser for the tool should be, making that edit impossible. Tried the following with no sucess: flattened image and made a duplicate background layer, duplicated the image and tried to work on the copy, quit PS and reopened it, restarted the computer. Other times everything works normally. Updated to the latested Mac OS and latest version of PS and still the problem persists.  Any thoughts???

Hi, My system configWin 11 24h2 (26100.4351)8 GB Nvida 305032 GB RamPhotoshop 26.8.0 The Eyedropper Tool measures the points differently when they are layered and when they are flat. However, the final output values ​​​​appear to be correct as false. As you can see in the video, no opacity or fill value is low in the layers, but as you can see, it reads differently. Hello!I have a weird problem with my favourite brushes (Kyle’s megapack) - all of a sudden they do not look quite as they are supposed to and used to look. Every brush is just a little off and especially the pencils are way too grainy and kind of fuzzy.- see screenshot: on the left, zoomed in - how it should and used to paint/draw - on the right how they are drawing now.I did not change the brush settings !The mode (dt: Modus) is set to normal, opacity (Deckkraft), flow (Fluss), noise (Glättung)… everything normal, can’t find anything wrong. And I am going slightly mad. 🙂 - See 2nd screenshot - The documents are 300 dpi, 2480 x 3508 pixels (DIN A4) - so it is not a resolution issue. Hard&Software info: new MacBook Pro, sequoia, PS 2025 - brushes seemed to be working fine… until yesterday.Deleted and re-uploaded the brush set twice - no difference.Maybe I hit a weird key-combination or something. But could not find anything helpful browsing the forums and the

Displacement Map have very problems because After Save Image and Apply Displacement and Upload that Image then Done... That's Very Long and Confus Feature... Change This Displacement Map Feature to Without Save and Apply... Change to Directly Apply From Open Image and Technics

    Hi. I'm brand-new to Photoshop. I've never used it in my life. I have to scan quite a few Kodak color slides. I'm using an Epson 12000XL scanner to do this. They're being scanned as TIFFs, 3000dpi, 24-bit color. When I open them up in Photoshop, they could be a lot sharper. How can I make the images sharper in Photoshop? I've attached one sample slide below (as JPG, 3000dpi, 24-bit color). Notice that the edges of everything are kind of blurry. I'm using Photoshop CC 2017, and I'm on a PC. The images will not be printed out; they will be used on a PowerPoint presentation. The person in charge of the project wants them to be at 3000dpi.Please be kind. I am brand new to this. I was asked by a family, if I could colourise a photo of this young lady when she was young.  I'm reasonably happy with everything but the hair.  In the BW photo, it shows black and yet the hair is a very light auburn.  I keep trying but getting nowhere.  Has anyone any suggestions please?  The last photo is of her natural hair colour that I am trying to match.  Very many thanks 

hallo, Ich bin ein neuer nutzer, und wollte mit photoshop ein paar sachen machen. Aber immer wenn ich es öffne kommt dieser Fehler.Ich hatte schon mit dem support geschrieben und auch einen Mitarbeiter gehabt der auf meinen pc zugegriffen hatt, aber nichts hatt geholfen. In letzter Hoffnung wende ich mich nun an die community und hoffe das schonmal jemand diesen fehler hatte und eine lösung kennt. Bin über jeden Hilfreichen tipp dankbar 🙂 

I'm running into an issue with the improved Gradients when exporting a jpg through the export panel when using multiple gradients and artboards.The preview and the exported image is not reflective of the gradient in the actual photoshop file.I haven't been able to pinpoint the problem yet, but it seems that the gradient handles align themselves with the edges of all artboards, rather than just the artboard they are placed on.  Since another bug report was marked as "solved" despite there not being a solution, I am opening this new report to keep the communication channels open.Currently tested version: PS 25.3.1 as of Jan 23, 2024. This has been the case since the introduction of the improved Gradients in 2023.Reproduction steps: At least 2 artboards, at least 1 improved gradient, export as jpg or PNG.

Auto show home screen unchecked, home still comes up --- no idea why. In old days, you could just have an elegant white page come up. 

I'm creating a file in Photoshop to export as PDF. The font is embeddable (I've done it for another book cover similar to this, and can't figure out how to fix it this time around). I've merged the image layers and left text layers as is. I've double clicked all of them and tried again. Attaching a photo - a couple of the characters are missing pieces of the letter, and it's showing as white. What is going on!? Thank you in advance!

Why I paid monly for this but still can't use this action? Very annoying

I would love some clarity on this... do you need an extended license to use an adobe stock photo on physical products you want to sell, regardless of how much you change it ?  for example if you were to use a stock photo of a realistic colored skull and you convert it into a black & white threshhold/ dithertone or use the "create outlines" tool in illustrator and its not the only point of intererst on the piece (poster, shirt, ect.) , would you still need an extended license?   also if you are doing freelance and are paid to create art for a product of another persons brand, would the brand your making it for be the one responsible to buy the extended license? or could I buy the license on their behalf to create the art for the product?  anyone who could help clarify it would be much appreciated. How to keep paragraph text always horizontally centered? No matter how many lines the text has, it should always remain horizontally centered. In my image, there are three text paragraphs. If there are four or two paragraphs, I'm not sure how to implement this using JSX code.

Hello Adobe team,I'm using the Photography Plan (20 GB), and Generative Expand in Photoshop is currently unavailable because my Firefly generative credits are exhausted.However, according to Adobe documentation, this feature is supposed to be included in the standard plan and should not require credits. I've already signed out and back in, but the issue persists.Please investigate and fix this, as many users — including myself — rely on Generative Expand as a core feature of our workflow.Thank you!Olga Kalacheva

I'd be interested on hearing workflow suggestions for sharpening.  The 1st image below is a composite of 30 photographs.  The areas in yellow rectangles are a bit soft.  The second screenshot shows one of these areas at 100% with the soft area on the left of the yellow line and the sharp area to the right.  In an exchange back in 2022, @c.pfaffenbichler recommended using the Mask of the Smart Filter or multiple instances of the Smart Object, applying different Filters/Settings and Layer Masks to them.  I am curious if anyone uses a workflow without Smart Objects to get similar results.  I tend not to work with Smart Objects because of the increased file size and the complications they create for pixel edits.  It may also be a matter of a workflow that I have gotten used to working with Adjustment Layers, which I feel work well for me and are quite flexible.  Anyway, if anyone has thoughts I'd appreciate hearing them.  Thanks.&

For decades now I have started and quit organizing my Photoshop & InDesign files. I am selling my business and cannot give this hot mess of files to the delightful young woman to dig through. I know if I could just get started I can do it...I'm just not sure where to start. I've watched a LOT of Adobe videos, and creator videos and takes a couple of classes, but I don't feel I ahve a handle on how I should get started. I went to Fiverr and a couple of other places to try and hire someone to get me started, but didn't have enough caffeine in me. It is about 8-9 TB of images and Indesign files with a fair amount of duplicates, I am sure. Where do I start? Does anyone have any ideas? Or can you point me to somewhere that has Adobe folks for hire? I considered contacting our local college, we are in a very rural area, but there is a college 45 minutes or so away. If it helps anyone wrap their brain around it. Hi trying to add a gradient to each end of various images to use in banners on a website.  Ie if I have a block colour #0b79b2 on each end of the banner container and the image sides blend into block colour of the container. I tried using feather but this of course feathers all around the image not just the ends. I also tried with gradients and layer masks.  I added the blue to the ends and black to the centre and applied it to the layer mask but only a very thin layer of the blue colour was applied which doesnt then blend in with the block colour at either side of the image.  I hope I have explained myself well enough.  Sometimes its clear in your head but not to others.  I have attached a couple of screenshots to help. I hope I have posted in the right forum .. it was the only one that mentioned photoshop.

I am using an arm64 laptop (Surface Pro 11). After installing Photoshop program, when I do 'open-on your computer', the PC freezes. What should I do?  

Hi, I am using the Automate > Batch command and an Action to batch convert a number of images.  Is there ANY WAY to get it to save in the output folder with the original file name?  With so many images to batch convert, going in and renaming the output files back to the original file name is a PITA!   I tried to google search but didn't find a definitive answer.  My current action uses the SAVE command I beleive, and I have read that if you use Save As or Save for Web you can achieve original file naming but haven't seen it confirmed.   Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.  I have attached a copy of the action steps if that is helpful.  

I'm trying to get the installed Photoshop files (over 10GB of space) off my pc. 

Hello! I am new to using photoshop, been learning it for the past month. Recently, while exploring the default fonts that come with it pre installed (I am yet to download/add any font to photoshop) I noticed 2 fonts in the decorative section, namely  "ROG Fonts Regular" and "ROG Fonts STRIX SCAR Regular" make my photshop freeze and crash without fail whenever i select them, and if i hover over them (without selecting) the font selection dialog box closes to show a message saying "Selected font failed during last operation. If problem persists, please disable the font."  I dont know if these 2 fonts are default fonts for everyone or just users like me (who own an Asus/ROG Laptop) but I would like to know if this is a kind of problem faced by others in the latest update (I never checked this in older versions) and/or how can I remove or disable those 2 fonts.  Any advice appreciated. Thank You!
