Photoshop

Photoshop crashes. Photoshop was running fine until it said the scratch drive wasn’t big enough so I followed advice on forums and cleaned up some files in the c:drive to make more space. I also at this time opened the old gradients and followed advice to move them on my computer somewhere in the app data roaming. I have since checked the following: reset preferences, reset windows font cashe, manually deleted CT font cashe and roaming data, disabled GPU in preferences, reinstalled creative cloud and photoshop many times, ran a windows system repairs (sfc\scannow)  tried with a different local account on same laptop, used Adobe cloud cleaner tool,, checked read write access to folders (but could not do spool\drivers\colour). The problem started when I tried to fix the scratch drive and when I was at same time tried to restore the old legacy photoshop gradient tools. I’m using Photoshop CS6.Someone else created a lovely intersecting double ellipse in Photoshop to use as a banner border, which I “stole” from one of their PSD files - but I can’t work out how they created it - or how to modify it, other than by using the transform tool.I’ve uploaded it to double ellipse.psd. Their banner is visible when you open the file, and is in the layer group “Elipse Banner”. My attempt is in the hidden layer group “My attempt”. If you hide the “Elipse Banner” group and unhide the other group, you’ll see my attempt.How can I create a double ellipse banner like theirs from scratch? Theirs has an almost rectangular shape (but with smooth curves, not straight lines), whereas my attempt is much more elliptical. I managed to make the tops of my ellipses meet, like theirs does, using the direct selection tool - but I can’t work out for the life of me how to get that almost rectangular shape, wihich is vital in a mult-line banner, as otherwise the text will overlap the

I got a ACE for Photoshop 5.5 back in the 2000s. Took the test through Pearsons in Denver and did pass. I have been using the ACE logo on my website and resumes but I am appling for an adjunct teaching postion at a private university and they would like to see some documation for this and for my Adobe Digital instuctor award too. Does Adobe keep any records for these?

I'm a seasoned Photoshop/Bridge CS5 user who recently upgraded to CS6.  In Bridge I just ran my first Image Processor batch, trying to convert a set of RAW .NEF files to .PSD files with a basic editing action I created applied to them.  Photoshop CS6 opens the files from Bridge and applies the actions, but then I get the "Script alert" error message "Sorry I could not process the following files" and a list of all of the files in the batch I was trying to run the script on.  The files all remain open and are saved on my hard drive in a folder created by the Image Processor script, but do not close unless I manually close them.  I never had this problem in CS5 where the image processor would apply the desired actions to the batch of photos one at a time, then save and close.  Thoughts on how I can fix this bug?

This version has so many bugs, I don’t even want to use it any more and am switching back to 2025. Just to name a few, it crashes every time you try to print directly from the program. The last month alone, it has cleared my actions 3 times without an app update. It crashed randomly when our workflow is always the same. I have files that work just fine with older versions, but with 2026 it acts like my files are corrupt. Updates clearly aren’t helping either and I have my workspace and preferences the way I like, but even with syncing the actions continuously get cleared. If this ever gets fixed I’ll consider switching, but in the meantime until 2027 comes out, I will be sticking with 2025.

it is becoming entirely too long for pictures to open up in Photoshop by way of Lightroom. I have seen others have the same issue and I have checked the space on my computer as well as updated both programs and nothing has changed. It is increasing the timeframe of me editing some of the most simplest photo shoots by adding hours. Any help with this issue? 

I use a psd file on a transparent background wor watermarking. I layer this onto the photograph - right click the psd layer and select blending options - that has always then allowed me to control not only the opacity, but the volume / depth of that watermark. I ran a batch process yesterday where it did about 800 of these without error. The next time I went to do one - manually now, blending options would not respond so far as ant of the depth commands would go. All it would do was allow the layer to be flat - it would no longer create that illusion of being embosssed. etc. Nothing has changed to the best of my knowledge and I have assures that nothing is set on 32 bit, no opacity is set to 0, I have no idea why that function has suddenly come up lame. I have reset the styles in that menu, restarted the program, restarted the computer, but cannot get blending options to - Bevel and Emboss. I am trying to use transform/warp with split points.  I am able to add the points needed however when I try to select multiple with the shift key Photoshop exits without any error.  I see this in 27.9.1 and 28.0.  I am on a Mac mini running an M4 processor, Tahoe 26.5.1, 24GB of memory.  I have tried to disable the GPU which made no difference.

I’m not sure if resetting starting point of Erase tool is a bug or lack of feature.

The previous version of Photoshop crashed, so I restarted my Mac and reinstalled Photoshop; after that, all my personal settings were gone; how can I restore them?

How to disable/hide this thing in home screen of photoshop? 

I’ve reported this already in “Bug Reports” and my post was deleted with no resolution and no communication. I’ve reposted there and now looking for help here!When “opening as layers in photoshop” the images are very slow to load in PS 27.8 vs. 27.7. This problem is confirmed by several other users I know. What used to take 11 seconds now takes 17 seconds. There’s a new behavior where each of the layers “flashes” up on screen for a split second before the loading actually starts and it takes significantly longer than it used. Downgrading to 27.7 restores correct (fast) functionality. Why would my bug report get deleted and if there’s a bug then, how are we supposed to report it so that Adobe will address it? Thanks

Using Save As Photoshop PDF, I was able to save PDFs above 50,000 pixels wide yesterday using 27.8.After updating to 27.9.1 this morning I could no longer save a Photoshop PDF above approximately30,000 pixels wide  (Photoshop PDF was no longer an option in the dropdown). After reverting back to 27.8 I can now save PDFs from files over 50,000 pixels wide again.

I just switched from Photopea to test Photoshop (again after few years). Rectangular Marquee tool:I’m working on sprite sheets with pixel precision. I need to select some things and I need to be pixel-perfect. In Photopea I can just start selection zoom out and zoom in the different part of canvas and just end selection there. In Photoshop when I zoom out tool already lost my selection starting point because CTRL+ALT+scroll down moves my selection in different places. I can’t even zoom in somewhere else because with this tool I can zoom in and zoom out in the same place without moving.Brush/Erase tool:When I click brush/erase in one place and zoom out and zoom in somewhere else and I click with shift - there is no straight line, just another brush/erase point. Why?In my workflow dynamic zooming in and out is very important and it makes my work much faster.I just installed Photoshop and I have default settings.

I never encountered this issue as bad until updating to the 2025 version. I have been trying to edit wedding clients, ELDERY CLIENTS, peoples selfies. GenFill Community guidelines instantly deny any single photo involving a woman. All of these would have been do-able prior to the upgrade. It could be her face; none of my shoots have been anything remotely NSFW. Yet every single photo gets declined, even removing an eye bag. It's ridiculous, as the 2024 version never gave me this issue. It's now making my job twice as hard and it is impossible to edit 90% of my clients now. I feel like I'm paying for a service that downgraded its quality and instead of being a tool that helps me is now costing me more time and money?

One thing that really stands out to me with Adobe’s Firefly-powered features, especially the new Harmonize feature in Photoshop, is that it’s trained only on licensed or public-domain data, never on our personal projects.  This means the native Adobe AI model in Photoshop (Firefly) is designed to work for you, not from you. In other words, it helps you create without using your personal projects as training data.  By contrast, other AI models may use different methods and don’t always provide the same clarity, leaving the consent process less transparent.   So here are my questions for the community: Do you think an ethical approach to training data changes how much you trust AI tools? Computer 1: Mac Tahoe 26.5.2, PS 27.8.0Computer 2: Mac, Tahoe 26.5.2, PS 27.3.1Computer 3: windows 11, PS 27.4.0  Save As to Original Folder does not work correctly for PDF files. Repro: Ensure “save as to original folder” is checked in preferences->file handling open a pdf file from a folder save as tiff (or anything)Expected: default folder for the save will be the same as original fileActual: default folder is the last folder where PS did a save. PS 27.3.1 does the same thing. Question: How can I get PS to save to the original folder when I’m saving PDF files as TIFF? 

I have reached a breaking point with Adobe software. It is now using so much memory any time that any time I launch an application I can barely get any work done at all. The apps are slow, they lag, they stop responding. I can’t have more than one Adobe app open at a time.Even now, with InDesign sitting idle it is using 2.09 GB. And Photoshop with a file open that is 181 mb is using over 30 GB!!This started when I upgraded to Tahoe. The memory problems and slow downs were unbelieveble so I switched back to Sequoia. That seemed to ersolve the problem for a short while but it is now worse than it has ever been.Please let me know what kind f info you need from me to help with this issue.
