Every once in a while I open photoshop to play around with animating frame by frame in there instead of Animate. But the timeline is so confusing and frustrating that I can never get myself to continue. By reforming the timeline closer to Animate, which is calm and easy to use, you will loose less frame-by-frame animators. Because AE is not quite right for it.What makes the Animate timeline so nice is that you can group it, it is organised and most of all; the singel keyframes makes it way clearer what you are working with. You can be way more precise. With the current layout it is very specific how to even start an animation, every singel drawing (frame) is visible in the layers tab, when you first finally manage to get the first video setup every frame is 5 seconds long. So you need to first shorten it, then copy paste very singel layer a 100 times (hopefully that is enough) and then place them behind each other. This workflow takes way too much time. Thank you for reading my rant, I

It functions better locally than via the cloud and that should not be happening. Also, the generate background is also below expectation. Previous versions results were far superior to current results
With Animate discontinued, Creative Cloud no longer properly supports hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation. Photoshop’s video layers are too limited for this workflow.Incorporating Animate’s timeline features into Photoshop would make it comparable to apps like Procreate Dreams or TVPaint.
What’s the difference between Device vs Cloud when using Remove Background? Comment on what they mean, and how they work, and then watch this video from Deke McClelland
Considering the rate of innovation in the generative AI space, most people choose one or two paths. Either try and consume as much AI news as possible… or just try to ignore it entirely. I've found for myself that a nice spot between these two extremes works best for me. Keeping up with everything AI is a full-time job… while pretending there is nothing interesting or beneficial for creatives will leave you at a disadvantage. Knowing enough to be selective around which innovations and spaces to keep an eye on - and maintaining awareness of those areas which can be helpful in your own workflows can be very beneficial. You don't have to waste your time on slop…. or even things that might be a memory tomorrow. Instead, you make choices as to which innovations can be useful to you and you focus on these bits - and how to best integrate them within your own processes as part of your day-to-day creative output. Features like Harmonize in Photoshop fit perfectly within th

Intermittent bug:After making adjustments in Camera Raw to a .ARW file, when I click Open to continue to Photoshop, the workspace in Photoshop is blank (except for my file). The toolbars, panels etc have disappeared. This can be corrected by clicking Window > Workspace > Photography to reset the workspace back to Photography, and then loading up a custom toolbar preset with Edit > Toolbars > Load Preset but it’s pretty annoying as it happens fairly frequently, but not every time. Please note that I have raised this bug before, shortly prior to the community forum update, but the post appears to have disappeared. I have tried all the suggestions given by @Noel Orridge and @Sameer K including:1) Navigate to C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe.- Right-click the Adobe Photoshop 2026 folder and select Properties.- At the bottom, uncheck the Read-only box if it is checked (it might show a square; try to clear it).- Go to the Security tab.- Click Edit, then ensure yo
It has recently come to my attention that dpi isn’t preserved when using ‘export as’ (it’s changed to 72/ 96dpi) and I think an update to it is warranted.I work with a lot of artboards for my print files (300dpi) and often need to export multiple layers to send to the printer. Export as is an incredible feature that makes saving out a batch of files from different artboards, or groups of layers efficient and painless; it’s one of my favorite features in modern Ps. If it’s not preserving dpi properly though, it’s functionality is almost nil for print projects, which seems absurd.‘Save as’ is slow and clunky for saving multiple files, and horrible if you have multiple artboards. If I could keep the dpi of my files in tact, and have the option to change to 72/ 96dpi, it would preserve the amazing functionality that is export as, improve my workflow, and make sure that professional print designers have effective tools that make Photoshop great to work with. ‘Export as’ is too good of a too
A weird thing that logically shouldn’t happen is happening. I’ve been told that Windows natively has no ability to display Photoshop thumbnails when viewing PSD files in the file browser. Most of my PSD's accordingly when viewed display as the blue Photoshop PS icon, however randomly in my sync’d OneDrive folder some (not all) PSD’s display thumbnail previews of the actual PSD's contents. They display the same as a jpg thumbnail preview.I never installed anything special to make that happen. I don’t have an third party PSD thumbnail viewing programs/apps installed. So something else must be going on here. Is it something to do with the fact it’s a OneDrive folder? But if that’s the case why doesn’t it display thumbnails for all the PSD’s? The file type is exactly the same between PSD’s that do display thumbnails and PSD’s that don’t.Wondering if anyone has any clue what’s going on here.
The checkered transparency grid appears in chunks of my brush strokes when using the basic round with opacity pressure enabled. I thought it might be my GPU, I wiped it clean and reinstalled drivers–nothing. I’ve re-installed Photoshop, and even downgraded to the 2021 versions, still nothing. It can’t be my monitor because I am able to screenshot the checkers, and others are able to see it. When exporting what’s on screen as an image, the checkers disappear. I’ve tried other basic things such as a new canvas, copy pasting the background color on a layer above, and so on. It seems to be something with the viewer itself and it or some aspect of Photoshop’s relation with my GPU. There are two workarounds I have found but neither seem to solve the actual problem. The first and most digestible solution is disabling the grid altogether. It’s not ideal but in my limited use of the toggle, I can paint without the visual disruption. As further proof of it truly being the grid, it scales with my
I’m having an issue with Photoshop 2026 showing a “Time Limit” prompt. I have an active Photography Subscription (Lightroom + Photoshop), and my payments are up to date. I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop, but the Time Limit warning still appears.
It seems to be taking a really long time for Photoshop to finish saving a photo with actions applied. It never used to take more than a few seconds to save, but recently it is taking several minutes or longer to save back to Lightroom and gets stuck at like 98% saved. Would it be best to just re-install photoshop? {Thread renamed by moderator}
I’m trying to export multiple images based on 2 groups that have clipping masks. Essentially it’s for sports broadcast, with 1 team on each side of the mask. My problem is that I have 100+ teams/images in each group, so potentially 10,000 combos. Is there a script available that would allow me to batch export every possible combo so I don’t ya e to do 1 at a time as the season goes on?? TIA
Hello,I have a "problem" opening my 16 bits Tiff files in Photoshop, exported from Hasselblad .3f files in Phocus software. If I export my files in Phocus, in a large color profile like Prophoto RGB, open this 16 bits TIFF in photoshop, this images have much less contrast then in Phocus. Colors look the same but contrast is very different. But if I export in Adobe RGB in Phocus, I can see my images in Photoshop exactly like I can see in Phocus, no problem, as if I open in others applications like Preview (non color manage apps), same image as in Phocus. My monitor is calibrated, and I tried with other monitor profiles but still the same loss of contrast. I have turn off “precise color management for HDR displays” in Technology Previews and use an iMac 27”, latest Photoshop. Same thing happen in my laptop (MacBook Air) with older Photoshop version. I am doing something wrong?Thank you!Tiago Garcia
I have the most recent updated version of Adobe Photoshop as of January 29th 2026 ( Version 27.3.0 release) I created a file and save a copy as Photoshop EPS. I’ve sent it to a printing company to print and they can't open it. So I tried to open it right after I saved it in photo shop and I get the error Could not open “WinnerBackdrop copy.EPS” because Photoshop was unable to parse the PostScript. Something is wrong when I save a file in photo shop and it can’t open it back up? Please help!

Using the new AI Object Masking/Tracking function, can I lift the foreground masked object to its own layer, and have AI fill the background on the layer below, and disable viewing the masked area layer, as if nothing was in the foreground? Like moving an undesired figure from a photo, except in motion?Best as always,Loren
Hello allI have 2 questions pleaseFirst is that in Photoshop CS 5, I have NO problem copying half top of a screenshot and pasting it on SELECTED area of the bottom of screenshot, flipping it, and use opacity to fade it out and then using combo of ripple and ocean ripple to create realistic reflection . I have been told many times by experts that Photoshop Elements 2023 can do precisely same job as more powerful Photoshop CS 5.0 so I did the same thing in the Elements 2023. It works well EXCEPT opacity does NOT work. When I use it, it creates black and white checkerboard instead of fading out. It can work with opacity if I paste normally on bottom of the screenshot and flip it and use opacity to fade out BUT BUT opacity NEVER NEVER works if I paste onto selection as seen on my screenshot. Please advise?? Second question is that because Adobe refuses to allow me to install Photoshop CS 5.0 into my new laptop so that I can retire 10 year old laptop even though I gave the valid seria
When using the healing brush or patch tool it creates workflow friction to have to change the diffusion by having to select it in the option bar and drag the slider or select the number. This could be alleviated by changing the keyboard number pad behavior in these instances from master opacity change to diffusion. This would bring the healing brush more in line with its siblings and cousins (clone tool, brush, history brush) where keypad input changes the parameters of the tool rather than the master opacity while the tool is active.Master opacity change is rarely needed in this instance and is often the source of accidental input that is potentially destructive and not noticed until later. This seems like a change had it been implemeted from the start would never have been questioned. I think no one is clamoring for the healing brush to be the only brush tool where master opacity remains accessible in the keypad.
I'm trying to uninstall Photoshop but I need to log into my account in order to uninstall. I'm not sure why but it doesn't give me an alternative option. When I log in it forces me to download an update to creative cloud in order to proceed with the uninstall. Then I get an error that I don't have enough space remaining to install the update. I can't uninstall photoshop to make space. The AI told me to download the Creative Cloud Cleanup tool to address the issue. But I don’t have enough disk space to download the Creative Cloud Cleanup tool either. Please help me uninstall the application. Is there a way besides figuring out other stuff I can delete and reinstall?
I have noticed that after certain Adobe updates, some tools (like selection, brushes, or shortcuts) don’t behave exactly the same as before even though my preferences and workspace settings look unchanged. Is this due to under-the-hood improvements, performance optimizations, or compatibility adjustments?I am curious how other users handle this and whether there is a recommended way to keep workflows consistent after updates.Has anyone else experienced this, and how do you usually adapt or troubleshoot it?
It crashes at apparent random moments, only on bigger files.
