You already have a rectangle, but you don’t know how much it has been rotated. Now you want to insert text into this field at exactly the same angle. How do you do that?

Illustrator has become extremely slow recently overall, but it is especially noticeable when working with text.General UI actions feel sluggish, and anything related to text is much worse:- Opening the Character panel takes several seconds- Selecting text has delay- Changing text parameters is slow- Text-related panels respond very lateIn addition, Illustrator itself takes a very long time to launch and fully load.My PC is strong (RTX 4060, lots of free SSD space, updated drivers, latest Illustrator version), so this does not seem hardware-related.What I already tried:- Updated GPU drivers- Cleared temp/cache files- Reset Illustrator settings/preferences- Disabled GPU Performance- Tested on new empty documentsHas anyone else experienced this recently?Could this be related to fonts, Adobe Fonts sync, recent Illustrator updates, or some known bug?

Without any noticeable reason, typing Polish letters (Right Alt + a/e/c/o/l/n/s/z) in Type tool text editing mode has stopped working.THIS IS NOT A SYSTEM KEYBOARD LAYOUT ISSUE.I am able to type Polish letters in several Illustrator input fields (e.g., Search), but it does not work when using the Type tool. When I try to type Polish letters while editing text with the Type tool, different options/shortcuts are triggered instead.This happened to me once a few years ago, and now I’m experiencing it again. The problem has clearly existed for a long time, and as far as I can see, there is still no fix. In my case, resetting preferences and even reinstalling Illustrator did not help. It seems like the Adobe team does not care.

Hi there,I have a vertical textbox, and I need to use a specific font to type text. As you can see below, this particular font creates extra padding on certain characters, which makes the text looks uneven.I was playing around with different options to see if I can make this gap smaller like so:After some digging online, I saw suggestions about tweaking kerning or tracking, so I tried both but none of them is doing what I want it to do.Changing tracking value simply changed padding under the text:Yes, it looks symmetric now, but the spacing between the numbers and number to + sign is still quite different. Then I tried to use baseline shifting, but that moved the text horizontally.. After playing around for a little bit, I found that you can use Touch Type tool to modify the position of individual characters like so:This achieves what I want to do, so that’s great. Hello everyone.With the latest update, thumbnails of my recent files are no longer visible on the opening home screen/opening screen of Illustrator. The My Files/Open Recent Files list shows the 30 most recent files  - nothing has changed here and it works. Resetting illustrator settings doesn't help. Turning the GPU on/off does not help. Deleting older version settings/resetting current ones doesn't help either. All methods indicated on this forum since 2019 do not work 😕😕 Some program bug - nothing can be done about it. Has this happened to anyone else? macOS 15.0.1 SequoiaIllustrator 29.0Thx Tom

Hi everyone,I create printable coloring pages for kids and usually export them as PDFs from Adobe Illustrator for my website: [Link removed]Recently, I noticed that some line art becomes slightly blurry or thinner after exporting the file, especially when users print the pages from mobile devices or lower-end printers. The original vector artwork looks perfectly sharp inside Illustrator.I already tried:Exporting with High Quality Print preset Saving as vector PDF Increasing stroke width slightly Testing RGB vs CMYKbut some pages still lose clarity after download or printing.Does anyone know the best Illustrator export settings for printable black-and-white coloring pages so the outlines remain crisp on all devices and printers?Would appreciate any workflow suggestions from people who prepare printable PDFs professionally.

When I import a .psd image in greyscale plus spot colours, only the black appears. The Pantone colours don’t even show up in the list. Is this happening to you too?  This isn’t the case for- CMYK+Spot- Greyscale with a layer- Greyscale with an alpha channel- .TIF Thanks in advance !

Computer didn't crash I just closed an illustrator file without saving it*. Autosave is set up for every 2 minutes and I can see the autosaved version .aid but can't figure how to open it. Thanks for any help on this. (*I accidentally closed it because there is some key combination which I inadvertently do which changes my keyboard from English to French and then  the Z becomes X - so when I do control Z I've actually done control X - wish I knew how I did that).

This continues to happen randomly since upgrading to os Sequioa and it requires a full hard restart.  Wasting hours on restarts and losing work. Illustrator 29.2.1 Macos Sequioa 15.2Mac StudioM2 MAx64GB 

Hi,When i open a PDF in Illustrator the characters become corrupted. It looks like "#D)9! etc.Apples preview and Acrobat shows the text right. But when opened in illustrator everything is wrong. The font I use is plain Arial.Viktor

So I am trying to CNC awards for the end of my robotics season and this one part of one of the awards I am trying to make is having trouble in the CNC router so I need to fix it in Illustrator. The issue is that I have parts of circles joined with most of the award but then there are a few parts that aren’t joined and that is where I am struggling.Here is what I am trying to CNC and the blue that is highlighted is all one path but for some of the circles it stops at half way and leaves the other half not included if that makes any senseHere the semi circles are sitting on the outside circle but I want them to be all one path and not just sitting on top of each other.I know this is probably hard to understand and I am willing to answer all question that will help people understand what I am trying to do. I also attached the file so people can mess around and try to fix it on there own. Thanks in advance for the help. :)

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019)2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i916GB 240 MHz DDR4MacOS Big Sur 11.6.1Adobe Illustrator 26.0 When I try to copy and paste elements, all of the formatting is lost. Images will not copy and paste at all, text coverts to my default font and color (black Myriad Pro Regular).  I have tried resetting Illustrator preferences. I have restarted the laptop several times. I have tried it on multiple files and between files, some of which are saved to the cloud, some of which are on my local machine. Same results. This is not a problem in other applications, just Illustrator. Seems to have only just started this morning. I literally cannot do any work. Please help!

I have not had luck at all lately with my work IT solving this issue. I'm just going to take this matter into my own hands. I get the, 'Verifying access to '__________'' and apparently it is a drive that is no longer existing within the company i work for. All of my assests for my file are on my internal E drive, and any time i click stop. it just goes to save it like normal. this pop up occasionally freezes my Ai.  I just want this fixed. Below are just screenshots of what has happened

I’ve run into an issue where file sizes are increasing dramatically between Illustrator 2025 to 2026. I recently updated my software but am running into the same issues. I'm making a sign for someone and the naming convention is first initial last name. For example John Smith would be written J. Smith. The problem is that whenever someone's name begins with an A and I write "A. Name" it changes the formatting to a numbered list which has a larger space between the initial and last name.  When I turn off numbered list, the "A." disappears. What can I do to turn this off?

So, I am on windows ten and don’t have Illustrator installed on my computer. I have found that on the beta web version of Illustrator the Color Picker is not accurate at all. My main issue is with dark shades of brown when you pick a color it will have a distinctly green hue and isn’t really brown. I have attached images of the discrepancy between the Color Picker’s color and my what my eyes say match.here is the actual image 

Since the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator, I’ve increasingly felt that I can no longer work productively.In complex documents, the selection and layer behavior has apparently changed. Locked layers sometimes behave unpredictably, objects beneath them are harder to select, and the selection often prioritizes outlines over actual areas.This significantly disrupts the usual workflow, especially with large files containing many layers. Many actions now require significantly more clicks and manual intervention than before.I have since reinstalled an older version, as the workflow still functions reliably there.As a long-time user, I am now seriously wondering whether experienced production and power users are even being considered in the development process anymore.(Sorry...the title is wrong...but I have no idea how to chage it. I have an issue when opening Illustrator files that contain linked images or PNGs. I get a message that says "Some of the linked objects in this document have been updated." Even if I replace the image or update the link, it still doesn't appear. However, it does appear when I export the file. I have already restarted Illustrator, my computer, and updated Illustrator, but I still have the same problem.

Hi, I've just updated to MacOs Tahoe 26. MacBook Air M2. I can't launch Illustrator. Reinstalling the app from Creative Cloud didn't work 😕😕 There's clearly some problem (the question mark thing). What can I do please? Thank you so much! 🙂

What is going on. with Ilustrator? I'm on the latest version of Illustrator and the Mac OS, on a barnd new M4 Mac MIni and apparantly Illustrator is using 149GB of memory! This is happening all the time. Does anyone know what I can do about this?
