It may be a stupid question for all you proffessionals, but I only use Illustrator to fix up dimensional drawings that I import from a pdf. So no drawing, just fixing up. If I (or the person who created the pdf) stretch text (to make it smaller in width), how do I reset it to standard width? I haven't found anywhere where I can see in % how much the text is stretched. When I see a text today that I want to have in normal size, I have to re-write it as I don't know how to reset it...Lena

2 days back, I bought Logo Grid Generator from https://www.akrivi.io/ Installed the .pkg file I received and while activating the key in Illustrator, I am getting this error pop up: JavaScript Alert - file:///Library/ Application%20Support/Adobe/ CEP/extensions/ com.LogoGridGeneratorV2.2-AS/ client/index.html Something failed! 1: 1Tried connecting with Akrivi support, but they are lazy people who decided not to respond to the solution. Can anybody help me fix this issue?  (I tried installing the extension by .pkg and ZXP both. Same error)

I understand the basics, but I'm having difficulty creating the right angles in the gaps between the squares, any help please? 

I updated Illustrator and now it labels all of my links as <clip group> <image>. WHY? How do we fix this? It is happening with my co-workers too and it has nothing to do with the cloud. I am working off of my desktop. I go to place a .pdf and this happens rather than leaving the link name.

Hello there,I like the touch mode a lot,as I am using a tablet monitor with a pen for handlettering...Well, there seems to be no possibility to switch brushes,once touch mode is active, even if I select the brush before touch mode.It switches directly to this one brush, is this correct?!Am I missing something?Thank youp.s.can I at least enlarge the interface, so my fingers will tab more accurate?{Renamed by MOD}

My illustrator won't open a cloud file and I can't download it. The message comes up saying this cloud document contains objects that are not compatible with the current illustrator version. Does anyone know how to access this type of document ?? Really need help it's got important uni work on 😞

I have an incredibly annoying project, and I KNOW I must be missing something. I'm creating packaging for a growing line of products. The boss changes his mind on the formatting constantly (small business problems), so I have edited the same exact labels at least 6x over the past 2 years. Every time, he says it's perfect. Then a few weeks/months later, he wants fresh edits to include new spacing that is finicky to implement, new ingredients or amounts for the Nutrition Facts box (originally indd files to get spacing, but still editable in ai), and new font styles for a bunch of different sections. I am so sick of redoing this project x1000. It was easy enough to go through with a checklist and fine-toothed comb when there were 4 products, but we're now at 12 and about to expand to 17 and I am losing my mind. I can't keep doing this, I am going crazy. Is there a way to create a template that can be used as a base for many other files, where the text content is fully edita

How do I setup Illustrator CS2 from a CD?

I created new swatch libraries and symbols libraries and saved them in the appropriate place.  For months I've been using them successfully from the "User Defined" menu.  Today that menu is grayed out and the libraries are somehow deleted from my hard-drive.  HELP! I've searched my harddrive thinking they were moved but they're just gone. Has anyone else experienced this? 

I am having error while saving any file again after some changes. Error is "Some of the specified files already exists in target location". Even though there is no previous or existing file in the same directory. Can someone help me in this?

Hi I've been working on making fliers in Adobe Illustrator, but the last time I was working it I accidentally reset my computer before or while saving. Since then I can't open it again. I get two errors:1) Illustrator could partially read the file. We recovered as much as possible....(etc)2) Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. Expected a dict object.I'm confused by this since I didn't do anything regarding making or importing a pdf..... is there any way to rescue my art and text for this corrupted file??

Red line is tangent to big circle. Small circle is there to identify center point easily. Two circles and red line are not in a group. I want red tangent line around the big circle. Therefore I activated the Rotate tool and Alt+Click at center of the circle but Pop-up Window doesn't appear. How to fix it? File & Video also uploaded.Pop-up Window doesn't appear       

Hello everyone, I had  a question regarding pattern brushes, and I'm hoping someone can clarify something for me. I'm working on a custom world map with multiple projections (a flat 2d "mercartor" style which is then projected on a 3d globe). I'm having issues figuring out what the 2d projection of the polar landmass would look like, so I made a test using a real world map, which you can see in the pic attached with this post. I drew the outline of Antarctica, and turned the outline into a pattern brush. I then used the pattern brush on a circular path to see if it would assemble to the correct shape, and it did so beautifully.  The issue now, is to do this process in reverse: Take the outline of a custom landmass, make that into a brush pattern and apply it to a straight line. Anytime I've tried, it just uses the whole landmass as a repeating pattern. I also made sure that the shape is not fully closed, but I get the same end result each time. Is there an

Hi, I had an idea for creating a vector art brush for use in Adobe Fresco, I so I built one in Illustrator and I went to save it in the CC Libraries and intially I tried dragging and dropping it from the brushes pallette into the CC Libraries Window and it did not work. So I used it to draw a vector line and drop it into the CC Libraries Window. It would not save: only recognized the color and the graphic I drew with it.Help!

Hello Everyone,I am writing a C++ plugin using the latest SDK (v1-Aug 2025) for Adobe Illustrator 2025 (version 29.8.1). My requirement is to display a Qt UI inside an AI Panel. I have taken the EmptyPanel sample as a reference and added my Qt widgets to the panel.I am able to see the Qt widget in the panel, and it resizes when the panel resizes. However, the Qt widget is not fully occupying the panel space, even though I set the widget size to match the AI Panel size using the sAIPanel->GetSize API. I am also updating the size when the window size changes through PanelSizeChangedNotifyProc. To isolate the issue, I created a simple QWidget and explicitly set its geometry to the panel size, but I still see the same problem.Below is the code snippet. Hi all,I’m running into a really frustrating issue in Illustrator and hoping someone can help or confirm if this is a bug.Whenever I copy text from a Point Type object and paste it into an Area Type text box, Illustrator pastes the correct text but also includes a chunk of old text from something I copied dozens of attempts ago. This old text repeats infinitely inside the Area Type box. Hello everyone,I am trying to build Adobe Illustrator plugins using the C++ SDK on macOS. I have downloaded the latest SDK (v1-Aug2025) for Mac and installed Qt 6.9.2 using the online installer. Artboard is not copied when alt-dragged as I said before. Then sometimes it is being copied, seems sporadic, did not find any reasons for it. Artboards with some content, that is raster and vector objects, say a flier A4. When you want to replicate it by selecting it in document setup tab, alt-dragging it sometimes works, sometimes not, frustrating. It just moves to a dragged location and not being replicated. Sometimes. But often enough to cause frustration and mild pain. I have the latest version of Illustrator with all latest updates, on the latest Imac runnins OSX with all latest updates. Please fix it, I will pray that you will.

Adobe illustrator doesn't open at all, just try to load the welcome screen and then crashes. Some versions show message that it needs to close other versions do not. I use HP core I7 new. 

Dear all,I have a two-fold question:1. what is the name of the shape/path/object shown in the picture below? This was handwritten by the composer and I need to create something similar but obviously much cleaner. Linked spiral? Linked sinusoid? 2.  How do I create this in Illustrator?I've already tried (also badly advised by ChatGPT):a) simple line with Zig-zag tool (only regular sine-wave)b) curvature tool but I cannot get where I wantc) curvature + transform repeating but I cannot get the basic curve right to then repeat it. Can you help, please? Not knowing how to call this object I am also having trouble looking for possible solutions online. Thanks!
