Bonjour à tous, Je rencontre un problème inédit sur l'édition InDesign que je n'ai pas pu solutionner. Lors de la création de page (pour héberger des articles), la plupart des pages répondent correctement à la police demandée (standard sur tout le document) - Ex : Source sans pro - Light - police 9 - noir. Toutefois, lors d'une duplication de page ou même une création, le texte courant s'affiche en "gris", alors qu'il présente les mêmes standards. J'ai tout checké. Cela se produit à l'édition et non à l'impression. Ci-joint une partie du document, avec un article qui apparait "normal", et le suivant en grisé, avec les mêmes styles. Un diagnostic ? Merci !!! 

This latest update 20.4.1 keeps crashing for no particular reason.Building a 100 page magazine and have been doing so using InDesign for over 10 years.Notice that "file may be damaged" always shows as a warning when re-opening the file.It's scary to work in such environment and paying good money for this tool. Every update adds stuff bloating the app with features I will most likely never use. Could you develop a version without all the AI and additional stuffs for people who just would want a working app? Since these frequent updates, crashes have been constant. Maybe you should survey the community and ask what they want in their app, what's important. Have tools that are pretty but don't do the job is frustrating. Sorry for the rant, but my job is on the line. Ideas? FYI computer has more than enough ressources, drivers are up to date, running windows 11 pro     

Will there be some sort of AI assistant to InDesign to help with setting »perfectly« justified type in the near future?

Ces options existent sur Photoshop, Illustrator, j'étais sûr que c'était possible sur InDesign mais impossible d'accéder / voir le champ où l'on précise l'opacité dans le panneau dégradé.Quelqu'un a-t-il déjà eu ce soucis ?Merci,

Hey everyone, For the last weeks I have checked the hyphenation/ justified type from different top book publishers/Bestsellers on Amazon, specifically Novels. Their pages generally just look beautiful. They have few Hyphens but still an overall good looking Page without too much or too little of a Gap - it just seems perfectly balanced. Now, i tried to replicate that/ achieve a similar result (For the last weeks), but for some reason it doesn't work. I played with the sliders/Percentage within Indesign both within Hyphenation and Justification, watched different Tutorials on that, read through different articles, but I still get too much Hyphens - and if I configure it specifically for less Hyphens, the Gap just looks unbalanced...  Just to give an example. You can find online a Tutorial from Charles Nix, the Creative Type Director from Monotype, where he does a very simple Video speficially on that. indesign is not launching, i click run- the artwork pops up- then opens the indesign menu. I can't interact with anything on this menu, i can't even close indesign and have to close it through the task manager. I've tried deleting indesign files that are show on app freeze/crash on launch https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/crash-on-launch.html#DLL and reinstalling but the issue continues. I'm on windows 11 and the version of indesign is 19.2, would love some help asap thank you in advance. can an employee connect to my device and fix this issue please? i have already made a similar post in the past and tried all the recommendations, still have the same problem.

I am new-ish to CC, and I noticed that I now have dozens of irrelevant fonts in my menu bar. Fonts I will never ever use. They only clutter up the menu.In my work I use only 3-4 type families, and have no need for all these other fonts that seem to have been installed on my system since upgrading from CS3 to CC, and from OSX to Monterey. Is there any way to get rid of all these fonts I will never use, so that my font menu will only show the ones that I need? Thank you for any help. 

Hi,How do I clear disk space in Indesign in a simple and safe way? I don't understand why I keep running out of space on Indesign. I have a new iMac and keep most large files on an external hard drive. Help!

Estou digramando um livro, importei um arquivo do word e já estou nas últimas páginas. Mas agora, ao abrir uma caixa de texto em uma página nova subsequente o Indesign simplesmente fecha. Já tentei de tudo, copiar e colar o texto desse trecho manualmente, salvar esse trecho em um arquivo novo do word e importar sem formatação nenhuma, mas sempre fecha inesperadamente. Alguém poderia ajudar?

I`ve been exportings these books i'm trying to make, but for some reason when I export it, it appears me these type of errors:But on other page it appears correctly, how it should be:   So my question is: ¿How can I fix the error? ¿Should I duplicate the main document and do the work again? ¿ or what way can it be fixed?

I’m working on a multi-page document in InDesign and want to keep my layouts consistent across different sections. I’ve heard master pages are the best way to handle this, but I’m not fully sure how to use them effectively. Can anyone explain best practices or tips for setting up and managing master pages?

Hello everyone!The Math Expression feature in InDesign could be of some help writting math equations in InDesign, but I haven't found a way to change its default RGB color to 100% black in CMYK mode.I have tried editing the Math expression and changing themathcolor="#000000" to another color, but the color is converted to RGB.I tried changing the Fill Color form the Typeface Properties in Math Expression panel, but still nothing. No matter what color or method I try to use, when I export it to pdf, it converts it to RGB. I want to export the whole book to CMYK, with only black/grayscale colors.I don't want to use the Preflight option in Acrobat to convert all colors to Black/Grayscale. If the Math Expressions tool does not support CMYk colors, then, I believe, it is useless!! Any help, would be appreciated! Thanks!Nikos

Hello I saw this in an unanswered forum discussion from 2016-2018 but it seems closed for posts .I need URGENT help please!worked all day yesterday with clients on a book design. noticed the undo buttons weren't working but with them here i couldnt take time to figure it out, i thought it was just a keyboard shortcut problem.When time to save comes along i cannot save, at all.So i try to package the file in order to make a copy. IN DESIGN CRASHED AND I LOST EVERYHTING!!!!!!My clients are due back this morning to continue but the file opens with none of the work we did yesterday. I was hitting control s throughout the day but no error message came up and so i thought all was ok.Please please please, someone. Is there any hidden place indesign could have saved my work yesterday or some sort of recovery file?I am really very close to tears! Its a 300 page book and i just cannot imagine having to do all of this again...

Can this be achieved with a script? If you can determine that the key object has been selected, anything becomes possible.This is a practical feature.In our work, we often adjust the size of one image, and then other images need to match it. 

Hello,we are experiencing constant freezes while using Indesign 20.4 or 20.5 on multiple devices.Indesign itself and files can be opened without any problems but after 5-10 Minutes the application freezes. There is no Crash-Report or something like that it's just not responding. If this happens we can either wait 10 minutes or close the application via Task-Manager. The issues first appeared in June and as a workaround we started to reinstall Indesign 20.0 this version works fine.We discovered that the Problem is caused by our Proxy Settings. We run our Proxy as an explicit Proxy with required authentification. The settings are distributed to our users via GPO which will store the Proxy pac script in the Internet Settings.It seems like InDesign ignores this settings in the versions 20.4 and above. We tried to set our Proxy using "Netsh winhttp set Proxy" - in this case the application works fine. As soon as we reset the winhttp proxy the issue reappears. Is there a way to con

The hide spread notification is not skipping on my screen and its stuck although restarting pc and reinstalling the app still no fix. HELP ITS ANNOYING!!!! 

My InDesign epub is exporting with spaces between some paras throughout the document that are not in the InDesign document. In the para style, there is no space before or after. If it helps pinpoint the problem, when I export the document  with Multi Level TOC style the spaces appear between different paragraphs compared to if I export the then with Navigation TOC set to default. I have exhausted every single option available via Google search, YouTube and hiring a professional graphic designer to try to fix it.

Hello,I have A4 papers and I want to create my own A5 saddle-stitched notebooks. I use InDesign 2024 on windows.I'm trying to learn export settings for printing. This is the first time I use them. So I created a page to understand its basics. I followed a tutorial however I cannot make the spreads work as they are greyed out.I tried both checking and not unchecking the facing pages options on document setup.I tried to choose postscript, adobe pdf and all the other options on print booklet > print settings > GeneralI tried to both Adobe PDF and Device Independent on PPDI don't quite understand what is the issue here. Could you please help me? 

Images display weirdly on one Mac device whereas the exact same file displays normally on a different Mac device. I've noticed this behavior on multiple files.  I've also noted that when I try to export the file into a PDF, I get the following error:  Which roughly translates to "This document contains links with Files/URLs, that cannot be accessed."However, when I go to the link overview, everything seems fine and I'm able to open the individual links in their respective location in finder. I've been struggling with a problem for some while now. I bought a new b/w laser printer (Brother DCP-L2530DW) and every time I print from an Adobe application (ID, AI, Acrobat....) all the type gets printed very fuzzy (see attached image).So far, neither Brother’s nor Adobe’s support could help me resolve this issue. Maybe anyone had the same problem before?macOS 10.12.6CC 2019
