I am unable to start indesign because this message pops up "Adobe InDesign is missing required system fonts or CMap files. Please reinstall InDesign". I have uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled the InDesign App to no avail. Any advice on how to fix the problem?

tengo un problema recurrente con InDesign. Creo un archivo y enlazo varias imágenes sin problema. Cuando cierro el proyecto y lo vuelvo a abrir después de un par de días, las imágenes aparecen rotas en el documento.Lo extraño es que los enlaces no parecen estar perdidos: en el panel de Enlaces no me aparece el icono de error rojo, y las imágenes siguen en la misma carpeta, sin cambios de nombre ni ubicación. Creo que podría ser un problema de caché o de visualización, porque al actualizar manualmente un enlace a veces se soluciona.El problema es que esto me ha afectado a todos mis documentos de InDesign, no solo a uno en particular, lo que está poniendo en riesgo mi trabajo.¿A alguien más le ha pasado?

For example, my current column width is 81mm.I want this image to scale proportionally while preserving the cropping state.Rather than reverting to the uncropped state and then resizing to fit the column width. Following the traditional approach:item.fit(FitOptions.PROPORTIONALLY);item.fit(FitOptions.FRAME_TO_CONTENT);This appears to restore the image to its original state before scaling it to a width of 81mm. 

Hi can we please fix two things for the next update. - Export to pdf .. currently settings defaults to last previous file you were working on. So if last week i worked on a file exported page 1 of all. next week i may go to work on a diferrent file and that setting is still to export page 1 of all. - Solution is to have it default to the previous setting used of that same document.  not whatever last document.  (This has caught me out several times when I send a pdf off to someone and it only has one page in it which was puled in from as setting I may have alloctaed on a different project weeks ago). - Shift plus direct selection tool. (a) - when selecting multiple objects in this mode + holding shift.. some dissapear out of the selection.  

My mac mini M2 running MacOS Sequoia 15.5 won't voice read text I've typed into an Indesign document. All it says is "Adobe stock 2025" whether I have the cursor in the text box or have text highlighted to be voice read. How do I get my Mac mini M2 running MacOS Sequoia 15.5 to voice read the text I've typed with a True Type font in Indesign. I've  retyped in Indesign using an Open Type and the same thing happens.

Hallo, ich habe noch CS6 auf meinem Rechner installiert und kein Adobe-Abo. Ich würde gern für einen kommerziellen Auftrag die Schrift Myriad Pro nutzen. Ist dies erlaubt? Meines Wissens war diese Schrift bei der Creative Suite 6 damals dabei. Oder muss ich dafür eine extra Lizenz kaufen? Vielen Dank vorab. 

Hi there,   I've been experiencing an issue for quite some time now, and with each update, I hope it gets resolved. It could be something on my end, but this problem always seems to occur unexpectedly, without any changes to my settings.   The issue mainly arises when I return to InDesign after working on something else on my laptop. When I revisit my designs, everything is greyed out, including other open files. Although I can still select individual items, that’s all I can do (I’ve attached a screenshot with everything selected). The only way to fix it is to save, close the file, and reopen it, which is quite frustrating as it disrupts my workflow.   Has anyone else encountered this? On any document open with v.14.0.3,when i select facing pages, one page, or a Master page andgo to Layout>Margins&Columns, if a change the number of columns,the Adjust Layout checkbox is not available andshows a warning message, it is not working?

Trouble with figures called T3Font_0 and T3Font_1 while exporting texte from indesign to pdf. All the polices are included exept these T3Font. Someone knows about that and how to figure it out ?Thanks a lot 🙂 

Hi all, i have very long document made with multipal text anchors added.is there a list shows all the text anchors i created? i don't rememer  those words applied that anchors, is there a list i can look up those  text anchors i created?Thank you.

Can anyone help me with a GREP for making dashes consistent? I want all dashes to be sixth space, Em dash, sixth space:  

I work in book publishing so changing the size of a document is rarely done, but applying a master page with a different margin is a given to almost every project.Is there a way to still perform the function of Enable Layout Adjustment or is that gone to the wayside? For example, I could apply a master to a page and the objects adjacent to the margins would automatically snap to the size of the master. Items that were not touching the margins like ornaments or other text boxes would remain in place.Using the new Layout Adjustment feature, it does too much work and adjusts every object on the page, so it seems more problematic than helpful. Moreover, applying a different master to a page no longer automatically adjusts the boxes sizes to my margins.

When the Drop Cap to a paragrah starts with the letter "A" how do i adjust the tracking so the bottom of the "A" is not touching the other word? Basicly i want more space between the Drop Cap "A" and other words. Thoughts? 

I'm an editor/publisher working on a historically significant architecture book with 240 mostly B&W images requiring art book-quality reproduction. Photo editing and pre-press for others' work isn't my usual role. I'm completing one critical project to high standards, getting a scatter proof soon (16 pages on one 900x640mm sheet) from our European offset printer, with which we can also validate our RGB soft proofing workflow using PSO Coated v3.How about an approach where once we receive the scatter proof, we adjust our monitors to match the scatter proof closely in order to use it as a baseline reference for the rest of the job's images? Why or why not? We're not concerned about other projects. This is intended as a job-specific solution/workflow. Dear Adobe-Community,I am having repeated issues when trying to import PDF files into InDesign.The error message I receive is: “Trim box is missing or empty.”I have tried to edit the PDF and redefine the page frame in Acrobat, but this was not possible and the error message still appeared. As a workaround, I imported the file into Photoshop and exported it as a TIFF, which worked, but this is not a proper solution.This problem has occurred several times already, especially with PDF files that I did not create myself. We're asking if the following workflow and division of labor is advisable, as it's our most readily available option: Can we execute all needed image aesthetics editing in RGB (mostly B&W architectural images) under our careful eye with our retoucher first, then send the image files to a color corrections color space conversion expert (RGB to CMYK, manual conversions/separations) to manually convert and translate that work accurately to CMYK for high-end offset printing? This is as opposed to having one vendor do it all. We'd place the manual color space convertor's work back into our ID doc and export to pdf using the printer's Fogra 51 profile.Is this division of labor between two parties (a retoucher, and then a color correctionist/separator) before printing not advisable? Ask any clarifying questions.

Using a frame to fit the content seems to only shrink the bottom.I just ran into this problem again today.Double-clicking the box on the right will definitely work.

I only want to shrink the bottom frame without affecting the cropped section on the right. sel.fit(FitOptions.FRAME_TO_CONTENT); sel.fit(FitOptions.FILL_PROPORTIONALLY);Neither seems to work. Is there a better solution?  

Hello, Sorry if it's not the right place to report what I found to be an issue.I'm working to create a book from a 212 pages PDF PowerPoint presentation. The import work flawlessy. However, not a single image boundy box has the Blue Square to anchor the image in a text. Here in attachment are 4 objects. I've collated 4 screen captures to demonstrate the issue. The bottom one is the one coming from the PDF import. See its bounding box !?!  The there others are tests I made to try understanding the situation.   If I group two PDF imported images together, the grouping becomes normal again. As a work around, I have to "reveal in Finder" the image object I want to anchor in a text, delete it an drop it again into my project. Then all is normal.Any help, advice ?Best regards,Thierry

Hello everyone. I installed InDesign v. 20.3.1 on macOS Sequoia 15.5, and until recently I also had version ID 19.5.4 installed. Ever since I uninstalled the older version (ID 19.5.4), macOS Quick Look with the spacebar stopped working. I tried reinstalling ID v. 20.3.1, but it didn’t fix the issue. Only after reinstalling version ID 19.5.4 did Quick Look start working again. Maybe this can be helpful to someone.P.S. It wasn’t easy to figure out.       <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi -- I am having a problem with adding pages to a document which has vertical running heads, in the outside margin of a spread. I've set this up in Master Pages, as a facing page spread. When I add a page, SOMETIMES the spread behaves and keeps the running head on the outside of the new configuration. Other times it puts the running head in the gutter, and I have to go through the whole book and correct it. I'm wondering if this has something to do with whether I've changed an element (i.e. unlocked it) that was on the original master spread, and once that was done, the element somehow disconnects from the master spread? And is there a way of telling the master spread that I want this element to still behave properly? Or maybe that's not the problem and there is another reason that it's happening.  Thanks so much for any insight into this! 

In Keyboard Shortcuts Settings > Object Editing:Ctrl+Alt+arrow keys (↑↓←→): The system defaults to “Snap to Edge(Pin to edge?),” but pressing them yields no response.How do I use this?
