As noted, I can’t actually sort links by Effective PPI. Here’s what I get (right column): Is there something I’m missing in getting this to work?It looks like it might be ignoring content that appears more than once, i.e. in a folder in the Links list.Thanks!

This is happening all the time i’m running the most up to date version and most up to date version of windows. I acces files on drop box could this be causing the issue?

When I go to update a review link in InDesign, I keep getting this error message "there was an error updating the artifact". After that, the link does not work for most people. I am signed in to Adobe. Everything is up-to-date.... But this issue still persists. Can Adobe please fix this issue? It's emarassing when I go to send the review link to my leaders and they just get an error message when they try opening it.   <Title renamed by moderator>

Hi all. I’m presently using a GREP within a style to automatically put words in Title Case. Here’s the GREP:Apply Style: UPPERCASE to text: \b[\u\l]However this also puts characters immediately after an apostrophe (ie in the same word) in uppercase, for example UK’S and They’Re. Any way of creating an exemption within my GREP to keep characters immediately after an apostrophe in lower case?

I used to be an InDesign expert but only use it occasionally now. I’m using it today and I have noticed an awful new thing: whenever the cursor is in a text window, the interface in the background flashes!!! This is intolerable, I have a vestibular disorder and this is hell.Do you know how I can turn this flickering off? I've looked in the preferences but I'm not sure I see anything there.It literally makes me puke and it’s 100% a WCAG violation (Success Criterion 2.3.3 Animation from Interactions, and others).I’m on 21.3 if it helps. I want to set Indesign keyboard shortcuts to conform to macOS conventions. alt-arrow : move by words  shift-alt-arrow : select by words alt-delete : remove words backwards command-arrow : move to the line extremitiesThose shortcuts are set but I can’t find a way to set the deletion to the end or the beginning of the line. Do you know where it’s located in the shortcuts table ?

I’m working on a book, 288 pages. Plenty of images, all .eps files as I’m working with spot colours for risograph printing. I’ve been working with this set up for years and I never had this issue. When I try to export the file, the app crashes, and as it took some 30 seconds before the crash I thought that the file was too heavy for my machine (Apple Silicon M1, 2021, 16BG running Tahoe 26.2 with >1TB memory available). So I started splitting the export in smaller parts. It all went ok for pages 1-49 and pages 50-99, but when I went to export pages 100-149 the app crashes, sometimes immediately, sometimes after some 10-20 seconds of exporting. I found it consistent with the first export attempts of the whole file, which occurred after some 30 seconds—maybe some file is corrupted around mid book and if I skip that batch and proceed to export pages 150-199 I might be able to isolate the error and keep exporting the book. The new feature auto generates pornographic alt text in pictures it cannot seem to identify. It does seems to work ok on real photos but all complex icons have nude people and body parts described. It seems to me instead of giving a warning that it can’t identify a content it correlaties it to pornographic content. I don’t know if there was no introduction/pop-up to this new feature or if I simply missed it, but auto generating nsfw text is not okay. Why is there no filter that stops it from doing so?   

InDesign 2026, exporting to a small PDF file doesn't work!!!! The PDF is way too large.  

So, Adobe quietly stopped supporting the stand-alone distiller app I’ve relied on for 20 years to prepare printer spreads (vs. reader spreads.) This is something I do on a daily basis but distiller continually errors out with the latest rounds of Adobe updates. I have no way to easily convert my postscript files to pdf any more within the Adobe ecosystem. This is a GREATLY OVERLOOKED issue. What is everyone using as a workaround? Are you sending your files to the printer as single pages or reader spreads and letting them deal with? Is there a script you use to impose page layout within InDesign or are you finding ways to distill .ps files outside of Adobe? Thanks for your help!

I have an indesign document with a ton of different images, 1 on each page of the doc. I’ve updated a few of these links today and the newly linked updated images have this icon on the bottom left corner which I’ve never seen before. Any idea what this is or what it means? These are not text boxes, there are no primary text frames in this document and no threaded text.It is definitely attached to the linked image and nothing else, as it moves around with the image when I move the image.   

Hi AllAgain, with a version update glitch that hasn’t been fixed in a few updates.My team uses placed InDesign files in InDesign as a way to use the same content across multiple projects eg. a layout of logos, etc. It’s an ideal way with our workflow and we’ve been doing it for years, we’re not on here to look for a solution for that as everyone’s documents and workflows are different and there’s so many other uses we do this for.Recently, we’re exporting .pdfs and the vector logos that are placed onto pages are exporting as blank shapes where the logos should be. They look fine on the InDesign document before we export, but the .pdf is wrong. A fix each time we encounter it is that we edit the original by putting a blank frame on the page, deleting it and saving the file. We’ve discovered the files are always saved in the most recent version of InDesign, but before that didn’t matter.Any help (or a bug fix) would be greatly appreciated. Windows 11 x64 bit, saving files on OneDrive, In

I’m working on a file with ~350 pages all linking to individual TIFF files, which is typical for my work and I’ve done this before. I worked on the file last night and it opened just fine. Today I opened the file and right after I chose update links the file crashed and closed InDesign immediately. If I choose not to update links, I get the same outcome. I thought this file might be corrupted so I opened some other much smaller files, some that don’t even have any links, and they all crashed before they were able to open. Same thing happens with IDML files. Even if I choose to create an entirely new document, InDesign loads for a moment and then crashes. There is no error message when it crashes, it just closes, but when I reopen ID it asks if I want to recover the previous files (if I say yes the crash happens again). I’m loading these files locally, not from Adobe cloud. I’m on a deadline and have no clue what to do about this. I just updated to InDesign 2026 and I'm struggling with the change to resizing split windows. When I'm in the 2-up vertical view (which I use all the time to compare documents), I used to be able to click on the space where the tabs of the windows met at the top and just drag left and right to resize.It looks like I can't do that anymore—I have to click down at the bottom of the windows and hit just the right place in order to resize them (and then it does some automatic resizing first, which is incredibly annoying). Does anyone know if it's possible to get the previous resizing ability back? The new way takes longer and is much clumsier, especially as I am constantly resizing back and forth.

Just clean installed on a new Mac. I used to be able to use my Microsoft bluetooth numpad keyboard to bind shortcuts to paragraph/character styles, but InDesign doesn't want that anymore. The field will stay blank, but the shortcut still works… 

So I have sets of illustration in separated artboard (same layer) in Illustrator. But when I am importing it to InDesign, some parts of the illustration is missing. It occurs on some illustration, especially reused graphic asset from Freepik. Funny enough, this isn't happening using the previous version of Indesign. Right now I am using the current latest 21.0 (not beta). What I have done for the workaround;saved into a new file, only the error artboard. not working.saved the error artboard into EPS, works. But I wish everything works in native format.  

I can’t figure out if it’s possible to recreate this text style. Specifically the rounded corners. I tried the Underline hack. It will highlight the text but only with a square shape. I can also create a pill shape. I would like to use a square with rounded corners.Any ideas?  

I’ve cleared preferences through library, and when starting indesign.It has several bugs randomly appearing. eg. Suddenly can’t undo, takes ages to quit, there’s a slight delay importing images...
