Hi everyone,I’m dealing with a critical issue in Premiere Pro that completely blocks my editing workflow.Problem:Clips from my Sony A6700 (MP4) randomly show a frozen frame in the timeline, while audio continues normally. The playback is unusable.Details:• Camera: Sony A6700• Format: MP4 (XAVC S / XAVC HS)• Freeze frame occurs during playback in timeline• Audio plays fine, video is stuck or updates inconsistentlyImportant observations:• The issue persists even when using proxies (ProRes Proxy)• Exported video is completely fine → this seems to be playback-only• If I re-encode the source file and use “Replace Footage”, the clip in timeline turns black (no video at all, audio remains)What makes this worse:• This started in the middle of editing a large project• Replace Footage doesn’t work → I can’t relink properly• I basically can’t continue editingWhat I’ve tried:• Clearing media cache• Restarting Premiere• Re-importing files• Using proxies (ProRes Proxy)• Updating Premiere and systemA
So I'm going to preface this by saying that I do multi track editing in a weird way; I layer all the video files, and then cut down through the layers to show different camera angles. On a project I'm currently working on I have an .mts file as the bottom layer (avchd), and 3 mp4 files above that. Recently Premiere pro has started exhibiting strange behaviour when playing back the long mts / avchd file. If I make a cut or make any change to the mts video file, premiere hangs and appears to be reindexing the video file. During this time the play button doesn't work - and worse, if playback is mid progress, I'm then unable to stop playback until it's finished reindexing the file. This slow down results in very lengthy edit times. This wasn't a problem until one of the more recent updates. Using disk management, you can see premiere pro maxing out the USB hard drive's transfer speed trying to re-read the entire video file which I'm trying to work on. Toggling visibility on the layer
premiere 2026 version 26 dosent acurate mask tool in elipse mask tool and rectangle mask tool . if we select layer than select mask tool nothing happens . It is not worth any mask no use of it if this . and so as opacity line not showing in video layer by default.
Every time I select an audio track that has a compressor on it the panel to edit that effect pops up and covers the timeline. Records indicate that at one point there was a setting to disable this annoying nuisance but now according to interenet searches that is no longer possible and I appear to be stuck with this workflow blocker. Can you help? If not please fix this bug. I can either click on the track with a cursor or if I highlight the track attempting to move it, this occurs.

After updating to Adobe Premiere Pro 25.5, I encountered an issue with the film impact transitions. When I apply them to my videos, I sometimes get an error message that seems to be limited to the event section, while the video itself appears fine. The main problem is that the screen automatically goes black after the error appears. Restarting Premiere Pro only provides a temporary fix, as the same error and black screen issue reappear after a few hours. I have to completely shut down the software to resolve this problem, but the issue keeps recurring.
In my Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 there are constant unwanted random focus jumps from the Timeline to the Source monitor, and the Program monitor regularly shows a different clip than the one selected on the Timeline. I’m not using complicated edits with lots of layers, just basic editing. This has happened on Adobe Premiere Pro 2025, on different Macs, on a brand new computer, and always with the latest OS.I would appreciate a solution to this problem and to get this bug to be fixed as soon as possible.
Upgraded to 26.0.0 a few weeks ago. And set up my Auto Save location at that time. Finally had a lockup due to an issue I haven’t seen before, something about XMP Processing that spun for over 15 minutes while trying to export a short sequence. I Ctl/Alt/Del to End Task, PP closed, and went to re-open from the Auto Save only to find that it has not EVER auto saved anything I’ve worked on since switching to ‘26.
I have been working on projects that contain a lot of edits and content. However, when I close the project and reopen it later, I find that all or most of my work has disappeared, and the project appears almost empty, even though it was previously saved with all changes.
Tried it on 2 computers. When UA 1176 is used in the track mixer, I'm not able to render a Clip with audio.turn audio off worked, render to a file sequence worked.Crashed when export Media from Premiere as well as export via Media Encoder.Took me a long time to nail that sucker down!Leave the 1176 in, but turn it off and do compression via the build in "dynamics" renders worked without problems. The funny thing is, the plugin does, who it should during editing, but render, it won't! bestMichael
When adding warp stabilizer to clips in premiere pro 25.1.0 it sometimes hallucinates black frames one frame after the start of the clip. when I adjust the clip start to a different frame, the black frame still shows up. This is pure junk
When I place text on the timeline and use the text animation transition, it works fine. However, when I add a shadow or stroke to the text, it disables the transition effect or disrupts the appearance of it.
Hi everyone,I'm experiencing a reproducible and project-specific issue with Adobe Premiere (latest version) on a MacBook Pro with Apple M2 Max running the latest macOS.**Setup**All project files and media (MXF and MP4) are stored on an external SSD, which I've been using this way for years without any issues.**What happens**The project works perfectly during a session – playback, rendering, everything functions normally. But after saving, closing Premiere, and reopening the project, the following symptoms appear:- The Program Monitor shows no video during playback- Audio plays correctly and the playhead moves- Scrubbing the timeline produces no image- The Source Monitor is also mostly black, occasionally showing a brief flash of image during playback before going black again- Behavior is inconsistent: image sometimes appears momentarily, or only at reduced playback resolution (e.g. 1/2)- Rendering either doesn't start at all or behaves unreliably- The issue affects all clips in the seq
Hi, I am a french user for Premiere, the auto corrector not seem to work at all with the new version.
Were still having a lot of issues when exporting h.265 footage from DJI drones. First saw this issue in 2018, and I am still experiencing it in 2025. Often in an exported video, the h.265 drone shots will appear as a frozen still while the rest of the video is normal. This issue is fixed termporarily if I clear all my cache (Full clear with reset) and export again. This issue is still present since I first saw it in 2018, Its a bit ridiculous that we're still seeing this issue. I switched to h.264 on my drones in order to circumvent it, but 7 years later this bug still is not fixed. Premiere should be able to handle h.265 footage flawlessly by now. Adobe please fix this issue it has been going on for too too long. You cannot expect us to do a full wipe of our media cache at the start of every single session in order to circumvent this issue. 7 years, it has been 7 years, please do not let it go on to 8 years that we have to live with this. Many forum posts offer home made fi
I'm not sure if this is technically a bug, but it is an issue that needs to be reported. Adobe Premiere's auto caption feature generated a slur in a short video of mine. The words spoken were "link up", and the caption generated is in the screenshot below. At no point in the sequence do the two speakers use the word. I think a more stringent review of the transcription feature's accuracy and sensitivity is called for.
A while back I had several issues with clips not trimming properly during the Consolidate and Transcode process. I reached out to Adobe support and was given this fairly comprehensive list of when and why clips will fail. For some reason, this list is not posted publicly anywhere. I've copied it in it's entirely below. I've bolded several line items I feel are fairly important. There are now essential features in Premiere that I skip using (such as the Master Clip Effect layer) since it breaks the archive process. These issues affect all versions of Premiere, including the current CC2017 version - 11.1.2 (22) Hopefully this will help some people with project management. If any one of the 4 major video parameters (frame size, frame rate, fielding, PAR) do not match or are not supported by Preset/codec, then entire clip will copy. If the clip has multiple stereo channels of audio. These can only transcode to QuickTime, all other formats(e.g.: DNxHD) will fail and copy, sin
Using Premiere 25.1.0, build 73. (Mac Studio M1 Pro) I have a 4k timeline, doing some Picture in Picture, with a presenter overtop their slides. I scaled the video to 50%. When I hit play, the video jumps to 100% size. When I try to move the position, the video jumps to 100% size. When playback stops, the video returns to it's smaller 50% size. (On a whim I changed my playback resolution to 1/2, and the video stays the correct size. I changed ti to 1/4 and the video actually gets smaler when it plays.)
Issue – markers are not coming into Premiere through from Audition in version 25.3.0 but they do show in version Premiere 24 version. this has started happening just these last few days. Operating system – we are on Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise Its happening in all the new projects I’m creating. If I create new markers in Premiere then these ‘stick’ my current fix is having to open premeire 24, not Premiere 25. then add markers in Premeier that line up with the audition markers, save this and then reopen premiere25 version to keep working on.
Issue – Premiere projects exporting with audio errors, and twice now I have had videos export with 30 seconds completely frozen and missing Steps to reproduce – Export Expected result – It’s a game of dice now - sometimes it works but mostly there are errors Adobe Premiere Pro version – 26.0.1 Operating system – MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2 Video format – H.264 Comparative information Affecting most projects after 3/10.
When trying to publish video to YouTube, I get an error. AI is stating that this is an Adobe issue with their API. How/when can this be fixed?
If you select a clip / multiple and merge them into a nested clip in your timeline, the selection of the audio clip stays active. Since they aren't merged and replaced by the synced sequence audio track like what happens if you just have one audio track. This is just a minor visual "glitch", but annoying nonetheless. The selection fixes itself when you select the clip and deselect it again but doesn't if you select another audio clip in the same audio track. This was introduced with the timeline rework and worked as expected pre Premiere 25. This happens in both latest Premiere Pro (25.5.0 Build 13 in my case - I don't get 25.6.1 yet) and Beta. I attached a video which shows what happens.Basically it is:Select a clip with at least 2 audio clipsNest themThe audio sources are still selected, when they should be deselected in the timeline
To test, drag an apng into a v25 timeline and the same into a v26 timeline. One will show corrupted, and the other will be fine. The apngs in question work fine in all other settings and in this instance are generated from png seqs using ffmpeg.
The Track Mate Key plugin uses the alpha or luminance information of one clip to key or matte another clip in the same position in the timeline. In previous versions of PP the key clip’s position, size or rotation etc could be animated, and this would flow through to affect the matte for the other clip. The key clip could be trimmed and this had no bearing on the keyframes. Now in 2026.0.1 the Track Matte key plug-in does not recognise that the source clip has been trimmed and offsets the keys as if the clip is untrimmed. This shifts the values of the keyframes out of sync with the timeline, making keyframing the matte clip with Track Matte Key unusable. Please can this be fixed for the next PP update. Thanks, Tom
macOS (M2 Ultra). Same behavior observed on other systems as well.Adobe Premiere Pro (latest).Media: single 3840×1080 clip split into two 1920×1080 sources; also happens with two native 1920×1080 tracks.Codecs tested: H.265 (HEVC) and H.264 (AVC).IssuePremiere becomes progressively sluggish and starts stuttering badly when working with long clips (around 40 minutes). After a restart, playback is smooth for a few minutes, then the stutter and UI lag return. This makes editing unreliable and breaks focus.Steps to Reproduce:Create a sequence at 1920×1080.Import a ~40-minute clip (tested with 3840×1080 HEVC/H.264).Split the 3840×1080 clip into two 1920×1080 halves (or use two separate 1920×1080 tracks).Play, scrub, and make basic edits for several minutes.ExpectedConsistent, smooth playback and responsive UI throughout the session.ActualPlayback begins to stutter heavily after a few minutes. The entire application feels sluggish (laggy UI, delayed responses).Restarting Premiere tempor
