For the past couple of months I've been getting this error: "this is not a valid Portable Document File (PDF) document. It cannot be opened." error when I'm NOT trying to open anything. I'd say it's happened maybe 10 times over the last couple of months and 9 of those times, it's happened when I'm waking the computer from sleep. I can't seem to figure out any pattern to it. It's like it's trying to open a file on it's own but it doesn't show in the recent list and I'm not seeing any action that could be doing this. Any ideas? {Thread renamed by moderator}
Sometimes when I resize image with mask, there is slightly visible border caused by feathering border of mask and it could be printed if not carefully reviewed.I still don't know why it happens, because it doesn't happen in every image. Does anyone know how do I prevent this? What is the reason?
Hi. Once found a script and modified it to suit my needs. It works fine, but it's slow.I use it for batch processing. When I manually save for web, I don't notice such delays. Maybe the script itself is a bit crooked? The goal is to save a file with an existing color profile, jpg, up to 500kb, in the same folder, with the same name. The file height and width are already correct before saving, the script should only save with the requirements above.(Analogous to the "save for web" function, which the action doesn't see)var docRef = activeDocument; var outputFolder = docRef.path; var currentNameWithoutExtension = docRef.name.split(".")[0]; NamesaveRef = new File( outputFolder + "/" + currentNameWithoutExtension + ".jpg" ); var NewfileRef = new File( NamesaveRef ) // quality/size constraints var MaxSz = 500000; // max. 500Kb var Qlt = 100; // initial quality 100 var x = 1; // decreasing step // Perform the first SaveForWeb Operation ExpWeb(NewfileRef, Qlt); // Keep trying to save the fi
Since Photoshop 27.x, painting or erasing beneath a semi-transparent group produces temporary viewport compositing artifacts when Foreground composite caching (found under the Performance menu) is enabled. The problem is completely reproducible and was not present in Photoshop 26.x.Disabling Foreground composite caching immediately resolves both the artifacts and, on my system, actually improves responsiveness. I would like to have some of the bushes that are automatically installed on PS for iOS also installed on my PC considering that I will sometimes work on a single illustration on both devices. Through my searching, it doesn’t seem as though I can export brushes from the iOS PS (why?) and I haven’t found a place to download them. So if someone knows a way to get these files in one way or another, that would be greatly appreciated. For reference, here’s a screenshot of some of the brushes I’m talking about
When inserting a high resolution image into another one and scaling the former down to a required size, it loses all sharpness and becomes super blurry, why? Also when trying to seize it back up to its original size it remains blurry .
Sorry, I can’t think of a simple way to word this question. Basically, you know how with Lightroom classic you can edit a photo in Photoshop, ctrl/cmd save, and then it will update the changes you made in Lightroom? How do I do that with Lightroom and Photoshop for iPad?
I currently have an AMD desktop with AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor, 64GB memory and NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 6gb graphics card. What do I need to add to use the AI Sharpen tool?
What is the best way to resize an image in photoshop
Many people were disappointed when Photoshop removed its 3D panorama features.I've stitched and retouched over 10,000 panoramas, and honestly... I never used those features once. Not because they weren't interesting, but because my workflow needed something entirely different: efficient batch processing.Photoshop has always been an incredible image editor, while panorama-specific tasks such as projection conversion have traditionally been handled by specialized plugins. For years, my workflow relied on Photoshop plugins. Each of them solved part of the problem, but none covered the entire workflow. Some offered more flexibility but compromised on reprojection quality or introduced subtle brightness shifts after a round trip. Others produced excellent reprojections but were limited to standard cube faces or lacked panorama alignment tools. As my projects became larger, three priorities gradually emerged.First, I wanted the highest possible reprojection quality—with pixel-accurate round trip
When I used the remove tool to remove a cable that was in front of my subject, the tool added tusks to the baby elephant. Needless to say, baby elephants do not have tusks and since this is an Asian female, she would not have tusks of this size - even as an adult
I have hidden the Options bar in Photoshop. When I select a portion of the image and press the C key (the shortcut for the crop tool), followed by the Enter key, the crop tool displays the Options bar. Is there a way to disable this behaviour and have the crop tool simply crop the selected area when I press Enter, without first showing a crop area preview?
even though we pay for subscription. It worked until last week. Now its blank when we try to open an image to edit. Everything else is working.
So, I’ve recently encountered the following problem: Whenever I try to open a RAW photo—whether from the Sony 7CII or an Olympus OMD-5 Mark II—I get this message:"The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile is invalid. The profile will be ignored."In the meantime, I’ve updated my MacBook Pro with the M3 Pro chip to the latest operating system. Photoshop is also up to date, as well as the RAW Converter. After the updates, everything worked fine at first. However, I then switched to HDR mode in the RAW development process (within Photoshop's RAW module). After turning HDR off again, I attempted to open the image in Photoshop, and now I’m getting the same error message again. What could be causing this?
Clients are using FREE AI tools to remove their watermarks from my online galleries and aren't ordering finals (and thereofre aren't paying for them and are color correcitng or worse- Not color corrrecting and sing/posting. Pixieset to showcase images inhgi res no mater how small I make them. I'm thinkin low res proof sheets would resolve this- But how do I get my watermark and the proof sheet done in photoshop without hours of extra work? Also, how would you deliver the proof sheets? (gmail? dropbox?). Quite upsetting- it feels like I've been stolen from - ouch! And I'm concerned about how time consuming this newprocess could be! I can't charge more and include- in my market, noone would pay more and i'm already doing too much for too little (modeling industry, kids fashion, etc)
This is shown first when I type in a text layer and it replaces some characters with others (such as ‘ with û) or making all of the typing “dddddd.” If I close the file and reopen it, then try restarting the app, and then the computer, the file opens but causes Photoshop to respond very slowly and the text problems continue. The only way to fix this is to discard the new file and reopen an older version (and lose many changes!).
Hello. As I try to use the new Generative Expand function, I get the following message (attached): "To use this feature, first drag the canvas to expand." I'm calling this a "bug" because 1.- it makes no sense at all "first drag the canvas to expand" what does that even mean? – and 2.- because there is no further explanation, tutorial, click here to see more", etc. I tried dragging the canvas (the way I understand that) but the nonesense message keeps popping up (please consider getting some English Major to create these pop-up messages. Software Engineers... well, only they can understand themselves.) Ideas? Guidance? Thank you in advance. A.C.
Generative Expand. error code 1200 description Line: 13 -> var g_StackScriptFolderPath = app.path + "/"+ localize("$$$/ScriptingSupport/InstalledScripts=Presets/Scripts") any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
I would like to change the canvas size via action in Photoshop 27.4. I’ve tried to record changing canvas size but I doesn’t work correctly. The dimensions wasn’t saved. Steps to reproduce Open a document. Create a new action in the “Action” panel. The recording starts automatically Go to Image → Canvas Size… Let the units as it is. Switch the size mode from to Relative. Enter values for Width and Height Click OK to apply. Stop recording the action. In the action the appropriate parameter for Width and Height are empty. The same steps in Photoshop 27.2 working correctly. The same issue was reported for the Photoshop Beta here. P: Canvas Size relative Width/Height not recorded in Actions (values saved as blank) | Adobe DME A temporarly workaround is to deactivate “Enable Modern User Interface” option. After a restart of Photoshop it worked.
Hi Previously I had been able to use the ‘remove reflections’ tool in Camera Raw through photoshop...until it recently just randomly stopped working. All the other Ai tools still work for me, just this one fails and I get an ‘unknown error - unable to remove reflections’ message,Restarted photoshop, upgraded to the latest version of photoshop and camera raw...nothing helps. Even uninstalling and then reinstalling photoshop hasn’t helped.Mac OS, Ventura 13.6.5Mac mini - chip Apple M216 gb memoryThe error still occurs even when I have no other adobe products open.Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated…Thanks
I noticed that in Photoshop 26.9.0 the Build‑up option is always active, even when it is unchecked in Brush Settings. This makes it impossible to paint without build‑up.The issue also occurs in the Photoshop Beta 26.10.0.System: Mac mini M1, macOS Sonoma 14.7.6Video attachedhttps://youtube.com/shorts/0WhFV-f1lls
Hello,I am preparing service and before-and-after images for my website:[Link removed by mod]The images look sharp inside Photoshop, but after exporting and uploading them, some appear slightly blurred or have large file sizes. What Photoshop workflow would you recommend for website images?I would particularly like advice on:- Recommended image dimensions- JPEG, PNG, or WebP format- Export quality settings- Converting images to sRGB- Sharpening before export- Keeping the file size low without noticeable quality lossThank you.
I have been using Topaz Photo Ai for a couple of years, and was super impressed right from the start. At the end of the first year I was asked to pay for another year of updates, and decided to wait till some real changes in the app’s quality. When I saw the Wonder model examples I thought the time to pay out had come, only to find they had switched to a subscription only payment model, with a commitment to a full year at significant cost!I have found DXO PureRaw which gets good reviews and is attractively priced. I have also seen mention of OnOne NoNoise, and I know I can get similar sharp images from blurred originals with NB Gemini 3 so I love to hear if other people are in a similar position, or have experience with DXO Pure Raw or alternatives?
Photoshop intermittently behaves as if the Shift key is being held downFor nearly five years, I have occasionally experienced an issue where Photoshop suddenly behaves as though the Shift key is being held down, even when I am not pressing it.For example, when I use a transform shortcut, Photoshop repeats the transformation as if Shift were pressed. When I merge layers, it sometimes merges all layers as though I were holding Shift. This happens despite the Shift key not being physically pressed.Pressing the right Shift key once temporarily restores normal behavior, but the issue eventually returns. I have been dealing with this problem for about five years.I have also found several older posts describing the same issue. Is the Photoshop team aware of this bug? Is there any permanent solution or workaround?*This post has been moved by a moderator.
