Photoshop

I'm running v.22.4.2. on an iMac. When I open a particular file, the area is black, with no image visible. I have tried re-saving the file in various formats, and have the same issue. What am I doing wrong?     {Thread title edited by moderator}

 

My generative fill on photoshop net is not working. When i use the tool, it says: Something went wrong, try again. How do i fix this?

i want to remove  scanlines in this photo. How do I do it? 

I have PS24. I use the curves adjustments layers dodge and burn method. Dodging always works properly. But when I craete a burn curve, nothing. and yes I change the brush to black. Ive tried everything even reinstalled PS24. Its very frustrating. Any ideas are appreciated. 

If two objects are close together, it's impossible to shift select both of them. It drives me mad having to go to the layers panel to select multiple objects. Is there a way to at least disable the rotation trigger?  PS Beta 26.0.0Mac Sequoia 15.3.2

I must have turned on some aspect in Photoshop Beta recently but every photo opened in it has grid lines over the entire photo.  I have searched for a reason but have not found a way to remove these overlying grid lines.  I have removed the version and then reinstalled but this did not change anything.  This is quite anoying and would like to eliminate the problemAny suggestions are welcome.Thank you in advance,Bob Keller

I have version 25.7 of photoshop ... but this has been going on before my last update... the recent files on my home screen are from years ago and will not update to match my recent files.... under file menu .... I do not use cloud to save my files, but I have a slight inkling these may have been saved there by accident ... but not the files I want to see

I have a Photoshop only subscription, and I've been happily running the 2018 version of Photoshop on my late 2015 Mac Mini for a while now. I've just bought a secondhand Macbook (also 2015) and I want to install Photoshop on that, but the Creative Cloud Desktop App tells me it is not compatible, and therefore doesn't give me the dropdown menu from which I could access older versions. I am running El Capitan (10.11) on both machines, so I don't see why I shouldn't be able to run the same version of Photoshop on both. Yes, I know El Capitan is ancient but please don't tell me to upgrade because there are other reasons why I can't. Does anyone know of a workaround? I tried just copying the files from my Mac Mini's Application folder over to my Macbook, but unsurprisingly that didn't work. Thanks.

When I export a document into a PDF or try to save the PSD file the threshold from the original document stops working and it only shows on PSD files. Is there a fix for this?

Help! As shown in the picture: I am making a script to align groups to the same layer as the group shape. Some groups are even 180°. What logic should I use to achieve this step? (All group and layer names are randomized)

Adobe CC forced me to update to Photoshop 2025 recently and then Print Studio Pro vanished. I tried every single thing mentioned on Canon community boards, right down to re-installing Photoshop 2023 from Time Machine, re-downloading fresh PSP software for my specific OS from the Canon website, dragging the PSP files from one folder to another in Photoshop (based on various suggestions of which folder they actually belong in), and nothing works. I did get PSP to work for one print only when I first moved the PSP files into the "Plug-In" folder, but the next day, upon loading, Adobe gave me a pop-up window asking if I "wanted" to re-install plug-ins and when I clicked "yes," it deleted them instead. Now, after reinstalling the fresh PSP software for my particular OS (Ventura 13.1) on my computer and then dragging those files into "Plug-ins" (I tried both Photoshop 2023 and 2025) and (based on one suggestion here) trying to drag them into the "Generator" file under "Plug-ins," P

I run Ps 2024 on a Win 11 Pro desktop PC.   All my Ps keyboard shortcut key combos work except for Inverse Selection (Shift+Ctrl+I). This has been the case through several releases of Ps.   When I say it doesn't work, I mean that if I make a selection, see the marching ants, then try to use the Inverse Selection keyboard shortcut, the marching ants selection does not change from the original selection - it remains the same - and doesn't invert. If I go (small violin sounds...) all the way up to the Select Menu and click on 'Inverse Selection', my selection does invert. So the functionality of inverting can be handled in my installation (more slowly for having to cross the UI), but not quickly/conveniently with the keyboard shortcut.   I've already done the following: - Checked - Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts to ensure no conflicting shortcuts (I didn't modify any of the shortcut defaults nor create any custom shortcuts during my ~ 12 yrs use of Ps). I'm using Photoshop 24.5 on an Intel iMac running macOS Ventura. I work in multi-channel everyday for my work in commercial print design. Since updating to the latest version of Photoshop, I'm experiencing an issue causing black to display instead of the colors in the art. Sometimes the issue is not there; sometimes the images are all black; sometimes a part of the image is solid black. This can changed depending on my zoom level. Sometimes it goes away when I restart. Sometimes it doesn't. I've also been seeing the issue across different files, but I think I've only seen it while working in channels. Below is a screen recording of the issue.

When I place a photo (default as a smart object) into a master file 800px wide, it is showing the wrong dimensions when I try to transform it (it's showing 242px wide).   If I rasterize the smart object it will show the correct dimensions at 800px wide.  The smart object and rasterized images are exactly the same size. NOTE:  the dimensions that show up when you drag the transform boundaries are showing the correct dimensions (on both the smart object and rasterized image)I've never seen this until today (and I do this dozens of times a day).    What am I missing?  

Hello, everybody! I am... and I'm many years old. I am far from being good with Photoshop, but I am even further than being a beginner. Having that said, I've been occasionally working on Photoshop for several years, now, and it's was only two weeks ago when I found out what "smart objects" are, and how great they are.   ... so, yeah!, I am basically here thinking that my features suggestions are cool, but... who knows!... they might already exist. Although I doubt it.   Who should I talk to about submitting 3 such suggestions at the price of 2? Kidding. I just have 3 ideas, and I'd like to submit them. Maybe Adobe will give me a free licence for Photoshop, as a reward. Who knows! One never knows.   Lookin' forward to hearing from you, people.   Regards.

Bonjour, je suis autodidacte assez moyen avec PS, mais depuis plusieurs années de pratique  je connais les essentiels pour obtenir/présenter des images correctes.Dernièrement, j'ai découvert le sous-menu "opérations". Je m'en sers pour modifier le rendu de contraste de mes photos N&B à partir de DNG ou à partir d'enregistrements préalables en .jpg.  (Cette option ne sert peut-être pas à faire ça, mais...)Je précise que je travaille sur MAC.Jusqu'à maintenant, lorsque j'utilisais cette option, je pouvais faire directement l'enregistrement de mes photos en .jpg. Or, depuis quelques jours, la modification n'est plus enregistrée, je me retrouve avec un Jpg N&B "standard". A force d'essais, j'arrive à enregister un .psd qui ne porte plus le nom de mon fichier d'origine (genre L112354.jpg) mais un fichier grisé qui porte parfois "alpha1" ajouté au titre de mon fichier. Et lorsque je l'ouvre : la correction "Opérations" n'apparaît plus non plus.Je suis d'autant plus troublé

Mac OS  I'm on the PS April 2025 edition. When I open an image, I get the contextual task bar but no adjust colors.Anyone know why? Any help appreciated.
