Photoshop

New to PS and need some help after getting an error: "could not make a new layer from the selection because the selected area is empty." In the image below I am trying to copy the stone in the middle of the house to the right side of the house below the gable end, around the two windows. I tried to copy the selection and paste but i am getting the error i mentioned. I also tried to use the stamp tool and nothing works. 

Hello, am I the only one having a problem with Photoshop 26.3 and Camera Raw 17.1? It doesn't want to open my .raf and is blocked but when I put Camera Raw 14.5 it works.

Hi so my PC recently crashed and I believe it has corrupted a file that I was working on.  Whenever I try to open the document it gives me first: "This file contains one or more layers whcih appear to be corrupt. Continue reading layers?" No matter whether I choose "OK" or "Flatten",  the following pop up apears afterwards: "Could not open "filename.psd" because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered." I tried a bunch of things:- Multiple recovery programs, but I ended up with an empty file (all layers were present and named correctly however each layer was empty.)- changing the extention- opening in illustrator Sadly nothing seems to work. Its the only file that I ever encountered like this, and similar files within the same folder on my PC do not show any issues. Hopefully somebody can be my saving angel. I cannot add the file itself, given its more than 47 mb, however if somebody is willing to help please get into contact with me so ho

Is there a way to get Photoshop to stop asking to merge or don't merge when chaging color modes?

I'm making a grid by gridline every 12.5 and 12.5 subdivisions but Photoshop keeps rounding the 12.5 subdivisions to 13 inches. Is there a way for me to fix this? 

Yes, I know bug fixes are important. Yes, I want the latest features. Yes, I appreciate all Photoshop has to offer.Just curious. Is anyone else irritated with constant notifications to update Photoshop? I suppose I have my updates set to manual and not auto. With any software manual updates can save you if a new release has major bugs or quietly removes a feature you use. I know there are ways to rollback. Plus depending on your internet these are usually really big downloads and can impact other things you are doing like video conferencing or file sharing in the cloud possibly without you knowing why. And then there is security. Not saying Adobe has any security issues but automatic or early adopters of any software are more vulnerable if something nefarious is initially undetected. And I think users are gettng more suspicious or worried about EULAs that might state something like, "By downloading our software you agree to our latest terms." (Not saying Adobe does that.)It just feels

I have a PSD file with multiple artboards on. In each artboard is a duplicated smart object that is on all the other artboards. It's for quickly creating product mock ups with new designs. I have made dozens of similar PSD files using the same techniques. All was well until I tried to open the file recently and got this message..."selected font failed during last operation. If problem persists, please disable the font." I got someone else to open the file on their PC and it worked fine. They identified the fonts that were in the PSD file and I uninstalled them in the CC desktop app on my pc. The PSD file will still not open and I get the same message. Also all the fonts in that file are on many other PSD files and have no problem opening or editing those. Literally days of work gone unless I can fix this. I NEED help. 

Hi i have two bumpers one without parking holes blues bumper and second with parking holes silver bumper. Could you teach me some fast method to add holes from silver bumper to blue bumper?    Here are 2 Photos of each bumpers. Renewing the topic. Very easy (in previous Photoshops) to save a file as jpgs. Now impossible to do it FAST. I want JPG 12 (the biggest quality). Action for it. Actions gone totally stupid, they are not able to memorize the name! So it takes the name from different pictures! Unusable! I must save many (hundreds) files as jpgs. Once easy task, now for ages. Actions won't help. How to do it and safe the highest possible quality (12)? Export enables only 7. Thanks for any tip and thanks Adobe for ruining the possibilites of standard work!!!! 😞  😞 😞 

Hello, I just bought a brand new 17 inch Alienware laptop. I am unable to use the "Two-Finger Pan and Zoom" feature in Photoshop. This feature should allow me to zoom in and out of a artboard, but instead just scrolls from side to side. I do not believe this is a driver issue because I have tried the same gesture in chrome and it works. Also, I have looked over several support pages about this and they mention turning on the gesture feature in "tools" (which are already selected) and to turn on GPU acceleration (which is also selected). I have the current version of Photoshop CC and all drivers are up to date. I am not using a PC with a touch screen (which comes up in several forums).

Hi,I have 4 photos forming a panorama first two have same colour balance, light levels a bit dull,  but then the next two are notably different , duller still with a notable purple hue or tint ?scans from 35mm negs. all taken within minutes if not seconds of each other. , swinging round into the light more.so I could take hours fiddling with sliders trying to match all four up, or can clever photoshop do this whilst knitting them together?I was hoping 30 yrs of evolution saw to it that such often needed tasks are solved and it knows photos in a panorama have to match. Has it ? Merlin

macOS, Photoshop 26.2 and 26.3 (maybe that's also exists in Windows versions of Photoshop) both have same issues when Russian interface language used.1. In the preferences «Установки» -> «Основные» (see Screenshot 1.png) selected text must be «Использовать прежнее свободное трансформирование».2. In the Neural filters list for «Восстановление фото» description is on Slovak language instead of Russian (see Screenshot 2.png).3. In the Neural filters list for «Колоризация» in the description there are extra «\» symbols before quotes in selected area (see Screenshot 3.png).

I saw the captioned update in the creative cloud but it comes with "Not Compatible". New release of Bridge is also not compatible. My config is: Win 10 Home 16GB Ram i7-3770K CPU Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB   I have just renewed my subscription and have never read any news about hardware requirement changes. Any input?  

Most results we're getting with an empty prompt are wild: misshapen human monsters being added randomly, text where there's no "need" or precedence etc. Even when we do describe what the space should be filled with, we're missing the option to specifically exclude aspects (i.e. --no people, --no text etc.). It's being ignored and we frequently end up with unusable extended canvases.How can we improve the results and make sure unwanted elements are not generated?

I am encountering an issue with saving a file in two different formats (PNG and JPG) in Photoshop. While the action recording feature allows me to record the process, the problem arises after I save the file as a JPG. The tab closes automatically, which prevents the subsequent action of saving the same file as a PNG from executing.Alternatively, I considered using batch automation to save the file in both formats. However, I keep encountering the error message, "The command 'Feather' is not currently available," even though I haven't used the Feather command—I'm simply exporting an image.

When I try to update to the latest version of Photoshop, it always fails at about 46%. I tried searching for the error code and looking for fixes. It appears that it is trying to create a key in the registry. I tried following the Adobe fix for this error code. When I find photoshop.exe in the registry key, the permission boxes are grey. I click on advanced and it shows that Administrator aleady has full access. Photoshop does appear to run after the failure and is the latest version. But the link to start it is missing from the start menu. I had to creat my own short cut. My special wish is to export the distortion coefficients for the use with OpenCV python library. The format is discribed here: https://docs.opencv.org/4.x/d9/d0c/group__calib3d.html, so I want (k1, k2, p1, p2, k3, k4, k5, k6, ...). I have seen that in filter/lens corrections one can export a .lcs file as a distortion preset. But after an online viewer I saw no parameters listed there directly.The idea is to distort the image in photoshop to get an estimation of the image distortion that I have to know for data preprocessing in python. The problem is that I cannot put a chessboard infront of the webcams as it would be normally done.So is this possible somehow? With warping and or with a plugin?

Hello, I cannot use the Generative AI features in Photoshop. Is there anything I am missing? Why are these options greyed out? I've seen it could be related to the DoB but I can't find where to update my DoB, although I believe it should be the correct one anyway. Any help is welcome. Thank you,Simon.

Anyone else having this issue? I made sure the drive the files are in is checked ON in the scratch disk preferences but it still keeps happening. What is going on here?

Hallo, ich schlage mich seit gestern mit dem Bot von Adobe rum, der mir in Dauerschleife dieselbe Frage stellt und keine Lösung für mein Problem findet. Ich arbeite meistens mit der Beta Version, aber auch die normale funktioniert nicht. Meine Credits für das generative Füllen waren aufgebraucht und ich habe gestern zusätzlich 100 gekauft. Angefangen haben die Probleme nach dem Update. Das erste Problem ist jetzt, dass die neuen Credits angezeigt werden, aber das generative Füllen trotzdem nicht funktioniert. Es klappt immer dasselbe Bild auf mit dem Hinweis zu den Richtlinien. Ich arbeite mit dieser Funktion, seit sie verfügbar ist, und ich weiß inzwischen sehr genau, wenn etwas gegen die Richtlinien verstößt. Jetzt bekomme ich das Fenster bei jedem Versuch, egal was es ist. Das zweite Problem: auch die nichtfunktionierenen Füllungen werden gezählt. Ich habe jetzt weitere 10 verbraucht und kein Ergebnis erzielt. Ich brauche diese Funktion für meine Arbeit und finde keine Möglichkeit,

So, while idly clicking around the interface, I saw there was a little drop-down option on the contextual bar, with one option that said "More properties", so of course I clicked it. A couple extra icons appeared, that's fine, I guess, but I can't figure out how to re-hide them! I know it's just a couple icons, but for some reason, it's really bothering me. I don't really want to wipe my configuration or anything, is there an option to shrink it back?

Ok this one makes no sense. My son and I share a computer. We each have our own hardrives with OS's on them. My drive runs CS and lightroom with no issues. When he tries to download either program or the creative cloud app on his it says that his system is not compatabile. Both Os's are the exact same. I'm really baffled by what the issue is here. Anyone have any thoughts on this?  

I use Photoshop Version 26.2 on Windows 10 Surface and Windows 11 on desktop. When I open a RAW file on either I go into remove distractions, tick reflections and a blue progress line appears It moves about a centimeter and stops, and this error message appears. The Technology Previews box is ticked. Any help would be appreciated. Many Thanks Jeff Brokenshire
