Photoshop

I often need the lowest ratio of a rectangle (or sometimes the document size). Sometimes that is because i need to make a matching selection and I'm limited to using only numbers < 1000, so I need to reduce the ratio. I'm wondering if there is a quick way to do this that I am missing. Simple example, I have a rectangle that is 1869 x 4361. That is the exact equivalent ratio of 3 x 7. Is there a quick way to see that reduction without having to manually find the greatest common denominator of 623 (in this case)?To be clear, this is not to hit a certain ratio. This would be to find the existing lowest ratio of something that already exists.Thanks!

Hi, I'm trying to clean up my hard drive by deleting unnecessary files. i've notice there are a lot of camera profiles & camera raw files in the Application support libray and i don't really use a camera. are they associated with photoshop? can these be deleted without harm. are there any other unnecessary adobe camera centric files that can be deleted?

Creo un archivo nuevo en photoshop y cuando voy a guardarlo, tanto en "guardar como", como en "guardar como copia" o simplemente "guardar", aparece una pantalla negra sin ninguna opcion.Me tiene ya un poco desesperado.Tengo tanto el ordenador, un imac de 27", actualizado a la ultima version, y Photoshop tambien actualizado a su ultima version, pero no hay manera. Y solo me pasa si el archivo es de nueva creacion. Cuando abro una foto y la intento guardar, no hay problema.Pongo una captura de pantalla. 

Under Windows 11, I recently upgraded to Photoshop 2025 (version 26.2.0) from Photoshop 2024 (version 25.12.1 ).  I noticed that raw files are displayed differently in Photoshop than in Adobe Camera Raw.  Photoshop 2025 ( but not Photoshop 2024) displays the image with an overall blue tint even though it looked correct in Adobe Camera Raw. By chance I found an earlier thread on this community that suggested changing the Properties of the Windows executable to enable the compatibility setting "Use legacy display ICC color management".  This fixed the problem.  I noticed that Photoshop 2024 already had this setting switched on but I don't remember doing it myself.

When I use the Remove Tool it now creates an outline around my subject (my image consists of a subject with a transparent background) in the colors of the image. It doesnt matter where i use the tool on the image or what I remove, even if it is just a tiny spec, it creates this outline.  As you can see on my file I was using the remove tool to correct strands of hair and it created an entire outline around the subject.  I have been using Photoshop for over 2 years and never had this issue before but it has been ongoing for a few weeks now. Photoshop Version 26.2 on Windows 11. Any ideas of where to start trying to find answers? Thanks for any help

HiSince i've installed Adobe CC on my new imac (there is no previous version af any adobe program on this computer) i'm not able to set Photoshop as a default to open any kind of file type. I've attached a printscreen of the settings. (Sorry its in Dutch but i'll translate it).It recognizes the file extension .psd in this example. At "soort" (kind of image) it also shows Adobe photoshop. But as a default it opens this file for some reason in Adobe Illustrator.I already tried to change that to Photoshop. If I open the dropdown menu in the section "open with" I'm not able to choose Adobe Photoshop. It's not in the list. I can choose for "andere..." which means "other program". And than I can find photoshop in my program folder. If I choose photoshop from that folder and press the button "wijzig alles" which means "Change everything" I get the notification "do you really want to change this so all .psd files will open in photoshop". And than I press YES.So for 10 minutes this will work. B

Hello everyone, I changed my pc to a new one because Photoshop was too slow on the old one (even though the pc was only 4 years old).Now, again same problem. Everything is so slow... I want to talk with a real person without having to have a plan. I have an older version of photoshop and I deserve the respect of being able to speak to someone regards to the product I spent money on.  Yes I know that it is old and well outdated but I should not be ignored for not paying for a plan or subscription. for the last 3 days I have been having issues with my CS5 freezing.  I was able to still use some aspects of the program but then when I clicked to use text, it would freeze.  It has now started to not work with anything.  I can open a file or a new project but then it freezes and I cant do anything with it. I have restarted my computer several times and I have also uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Hi all Recently I purchased a Surface Pro 11 Copilot  Snapdragon X Elite  Photoshop works alright. However when I use most pencil brushes from Kyle from Adobe sometimes the lines suddenly falters. Resulting in dots instead of a straight line . I used the same Kyle brushes before, the same surface slim pen 2 and the same photoshop before on my old tablet: the Surface Pro 8 Intel i5 and the brushes worked perfect. The surface pro 8 became to slow in ram memory, therefore i bought the surface pro 11 snapdragon. I already used a quick fix. Cleared all settings of the brush. It helped a little but it stays buggy with sometimes faltering of the pencil.    Can you guys help me out with this one?And what would you recommend meKeep the Snapdragon or buy back an older Intel version? Thanks in advance 

I'm constantly adding shapes to images. I usually deselect a shape layer by clicking in an open space in the Layers panel. Lately, a lot of my image are much more complex with multiple text,shape,etc layers. I could group them to make more room but I'm not archiving or saving PSD's.SO, is there a De-Select all layers shortcut? Clicking an open area in the canvas area won't work for shapes.You get a pop up window for Shapes instead.Thanks for any help

please help me... my pc suddently crashed and i didn't save my artwork in photoshop. when i opened it the file is completely tuned back. and it showing only one layer. please help me get it back this is really important to me and i tried everything.i can provide the psd file. pls help me this is important to my portfolio.  

Hello.Previously I was able to use Photoshop and when naming my files to save they would appear as the file name only with no .jpg. Now the suffix shows up and I need to erase it before saving every time. How can I get it where the suffix doen't appear?example of how it currently appears: File name: 3O7A03539.jpghow it used to appear: File name: 3O7A03539After I make edits to a file I save it with code letters that mean something to me if I need to go back and see how I edited an image.In the current status I need to backspace/erase 4 keystrokes for each file then type my own "code": letter(s). If I have hundred of images from a shoot that's a lot of extra keystrokes/time.Is this something I can simply turn off?Thanks in advance.

Quite often when B is depressed on the keypad the brush outline shows up. When the key is released the outline disappears and the previous tool is still selected. Repeated pressing B does not engage and the brush is not selected.. Mouse - select to the brush tool does work.This behavior has been around for quite some time. Mac Os 12.7.6, Mac Pro Late 2013 Photoshop 25.12.1 and before

For the past month, whenever I save a file using a mockup (e.g., for stationery), the linework ends up heavily pixelated instead of sharp like it used to be.I haven’t changed anything—same Photoshop, same computer, no new installs. This just started happening out of nowhere one day at the office.What could be causing this?See image for reference.

Photoshop 2024, Window 11Issue: see topic. Not really a bug, more of an annoyance.Steps to reproduce:1. Open any image, let's say a BMP2. Open the "Save for web" dialog (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+s) and select PNG.3. Save the PNG.4. Close the BMP with Ctrl+w. Result: PS would popup a save requester, though no modifications have been done.Impact: very annoying

I'm trying to understand if this is the correct behavior or if my preferences have been somehow corrupted.I've disabled "Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid" in the Preferences > Tools section:I have snap completely disabled and extras hidden:And yet despite all this ... vector shapes and even raster elements are snapping to the pixel grid when I am free transforming them. Photoshop tool icons are missing 2025 Ver. 26.3Got this problem after updating to 26.3- I have tried to uninstall and install again with the same issue - I have unistalled and installed ver. 26.2 and the toolbar was back to normal.- Then i updated back to 26.3 and the issue was back Look at the toolbar left in the picture.Anyone have any solution to this ? 

Is there a script that lists the font version of a text layer in a PSD?Not the font family, but the version. For example SF Pro version version 19, versus SF Pro version 22.Sometimes I will receive a PSD from a client that has a text layer with the same font family that I have, but a different font version. I can tell this because that text layer has an exclamation point warning sign on that layer, and the following message pops up:"Some text layers might beed to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update the layers now?".I click update, and I'm able to continue working. However, I believe someone creating the PSD has an older or newer version of the font installed on their computer.  So I'm wondering if there is a way to identify what version photoshop is expecting.I'm an early beginner at scripting, so I'm not sure if listing the version is even possible. I did find a script called 'list-fonts' that lists the font family. Hi,For the first time (with CS6)  I am unable to open a .jpg sent me taken from a facebook site.I get this if I am sent a photo using WhatsApp, but one taken from fb never before.The photo is not a whatsApp, its a copy of a copy of a scan sometime, being a WW2 photo. If I use 26.2 then it opens.However whilst I try and resolve fuirther problems with the design of 26.2 I am using CS6 still. have fb started adding somerthing to .jpgs ? I also cannot open website pics which are .webp and again 26.2 does so, so thats encouraging, for when I can use 26.2 a week gone so far and keep finding issues. I have to do a screen grab instead, and for parsing jpgs open them into MS paint. why is it Adobe are outgunned by a humble MSpaint ? Merlin3

I need to convert BRAW stills from a Blackmagic Cinema Camera to DNG. I can't find any software or utility for Mac to do so. None of the Lightroom Classic, Adobe Camera Raw or Photoshop can read or convert the BRAW. Saving as TIFF then to DNG doesn't maintain the data needed from the RAW file. 

Like the screenshot above, the Generative Fill function stucked at loading and didn't show any result for it Is there any solution for that?

I've been wanting to use the symmetry tool in photoshop for some time, I updated it and I still can't access the tool.I've gone into Preferences > Technology Previews and its still not an option to be able to turn on.Any idea?
