Hello all.  I have what appears to be recursion in my published help.  I see the help within the help (but only the TOC) I am never able to get the help topics to load. Its like one version of the same help is embedded within the other.  And the right frame which would normally load the starting topic never loads, it just spins.  I figure I set something up wrong in my project but for the life of me can't figure it ou.  I'm on Robohelp 2019.  Thanks in advance for any assist.

Hi all,   I'm using RoboHelp 2022, and working with the Frameless Studio skin. I want to understand if there's any setting that can be changed so that the output can appear either in Full screen mode or have the filters panel open by default?

I am trying to install RoboHelp 2019 (Classic) on a new computer which has Windows 11 Version 24H2 OS. When I run the set-up.exe, the Adobe RoboHelp (2019 release) Installer window pops up but is completely blank and nothing happens. How can I install RoboHelp 2019? I did install 2020 successfully but had to uninstall as I cannot use that version since the file structure is different and will not work with our Source Control.

HelloUp to now we worked with merged chm's, organised in a directory tree with as many branches as languages;language 1 main projectsubproject A containing htm's in language 1subproject B containing htm's in language 1language 2 main projectsubproject A containing htm's in language 2subproject B containing htm's in language 2and so onall the content is already translated. but organised in this directory structurewe want to migrate to merged html.What I noticed is that in RH2022, when you 'call' translations on a project, this is happening in the sources directorymainproject dir (in the main language)subproject A (main language)subproject B (main language)fr/FR and thensubproject A (in french) containing 'to translate' htm's what is strange: there is no separate dir for the main language (nl-BE) in our case. This means that our app will need a different parameter to launch language 1 than language 2 or 3these dirs are only containing 'to translate' htm's (because I c

I am using RoboHelp version 2022.4.179 and I am trying to exclude topics from the search but still include it in the table of contents. I have gone through each topic and selected "Exclude this topic from search" but after generating the HTML output, and going to search a keyword, the topics are still listed in the search.         How would I make sure that the topics I have selected to not be included in the search won't show up while still being in the TOC if someone needs to reference it? 

Hello, i've upgraded RH2019 a merged project to RH2022 with chm output.I've succeeded in transforming this with output to html5 (with many thx to the youtube of Matt Sullivan)So now it is a merged html5 projectall local links work, but not the one linking a topic from an external chmthe link now is nameprojectt.chm://topicname.htm and should become rhpj:nameproject/contents/topicname.htmI could in every subproject look in reports/external references. I'm hoping it would be possible by editing one or more files in the project directory with a search and replace (eventually external to RH) so this would happen efficiently. Any ideas? best regardsOlivier

Hello, we need to change our software (windows) to open local html files instead of chm, in a merged project. I followed to the letter the video from matt sulivan (for one language), which works perfectly for ONE language. Our plan is to copy the output of our projects to a directory of our distributed software filesWe have mapping tables on nearly all the subprojects.I would like to know how to call with parameter passing the right topic if you don't have a webserver.I'm not a browser wizard. But I think the syntax path/index.htm?rhmapno=123&rhmapfs=false won't work without a webserver. From our software I can manipulate mapn° and projectname in strings als necessary. Originally the topicname/number combo should be handled by the RH side (with chms).Can someone confirm that I'll have to publish to my developpers not only value and projectname, but also topicname (wich was not the case previously). or Am I wrong and can one call ? parameters without a webserver.best

Hello,I’m working with RH 2002.3.93. I’m not using a newer version due to compilation processes in PowerShell that don’t work with those versions.I’ve recently started using Git + P4V as my source control setup. I’m working on Windows 11.When there’s a conflict between the sources (HTML files in the P4V depot) and the file I want to push, the differences are written directly into the HTML code of the file. Specific tags are inserted into the HTML file so I can identify the conflicting parts. This is really not practical. Unfortunately, I don’t have an example to share right now because my access to P4V is temporarily unavailable.Normally, I’d expect P4Merge to be used, but that’s not happening. P4Merge is set as my default diff tool in P4V.My question is: Is this the expected behavior?If not, how can I make P4Merge the interface used for merges so that my HTML files are no longer modified during conflicts?Thanks a lot for your replies.

Hello,We have recently upgraded from Adobe RH 2019 classic version to RH 2022 version a nd need some help on creating output preset for Responsive HTML5 outputs. We are having multiple RH projects that we work on, we have customizwd the output profile for a single project, but since we have multiple RH projects and translation projects, we have to individually customize presets in each project. Is there a way to import that customized preset to different projects so that it just saves time and the output remains same throughout. Any updates will be helpful on this issue. Thanks.

HelloI maintain a RH2019 classic project with a main chm project and merged in subproject, also chm's. Every main project consists of more or less 30 subproject. And all of them are created in 3 versions, one per different language.As there are issues with the availibility of IE dll on new computers, I cannot place links to pdf's anymore. They won't open. On top of that, at every help request here, I'm told chm's are not really up to date (very true I suppose).So... A new attempt at upgrading from RH2019 to RH2022. Had some issues with the css file when converting, containing too many curly braces, but that is solved. Yippie!I compiled the main project and 3 subproject in RH2022. Reimported in the toc the new chm's and generated the main project output The main project show the subprojects in the toc. But once you click on a subproject when running, a new window is openened.From previous answers on this forum, I conclude it is related with the outputpreset/windows html help/l

One more question about local publishing of frameless output.With RH Classic, we had the option of choosing whether a link for HTML output should always open in the same browser frame or in a new frame. The same frame applied to csh calls and links. In RH 2022, frameless output always opens in a new window. We would like it to open in the same frame. I cannot find an option for this in RH 2022. The developer cannot find a solution for this in the API either.I searched the existing threads and Peter Grainge's posts, where I came across the synonyms (thanks for that!), but unfortunately I couldn't solve my problem. Who can help me?

Hi, our developer has been tasked with integrating the new frameless output into the software, and I have provided him with the API folder from RH 2022. After many years, we are switching from CHM to HTML5. Now it turns out that the file is not working. For example, the page to be opened should always open in Internet Explorer 11. This no longer works. Is there a more recent version of this file? Or can anyone here help?This is the exact recommended file $ProgramFolder\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp\CSH_API\C++\win\RoboHelp_CSH.hThanks

Hello,In the past a could perfectly insert a hyperlink in a topic to a pdf document I placed in the shared resource directory. link to file, Display in new window. The file appears in the bagage files. And clicking on the link opened up the file in kind of browser. Not sure since when but my actual configuration (win11, projectfiles in a one drive directory) doesn't work.Nothing is happening when clicking on the linkwhen opened from within robohelp 'view result' or primary output view, nothing happens. When using the file explorer I get this messageI tried a file name without spaces but got the same resultTried the same chm on a different machine (an RDP server with IE explorer still being present) and there the pdf file is shown in the IE browser which is still installed.So I suspect there is something wrong in between the creation of the chm the link and the presence of IE as browser.Does any one have a solution? best regardsOlivier

After completing the Update to 2022.6.34 when try to open an existing RH 2022 project I get the message to convert - Upgrade the project to the latest version,. To me, Version is 2022 should not have to Convert again. Is this a legitmate thing to do for just an Update? If I say Yes, will other team members Not be able to access with previous update of 2022.5.28? 

Hi, on upgradef frpm classic project to RH 2022, tere are some HTML files which are not imported. These on importing are showing in the output folder under assets. Is this correct.

Hi,On upgrade from Classic to RH2022 , Java Script Files are showing with Broken Links. 

I found the new steps for creating a new variable, which btw, seems a step backwards from RH2020. Anyway, I was finally able to create a new variable but cannot get the new varable on my topic page. Drag and Drop no longer works as in RH2020-another step backward. Found the Apply Variable option, but the Search for the variable is not working. What can I do to get the new variable on my topic page?

In MadCap Flare, there is a specific field for setting what appears in the title bar and document tab in the PDF reader, so you can use either the filename, or a custom name.(It is setting this field from the output preset):This in turn is then using the title metadata instead of the filename in the titlebar/tab. RoboHelp allows setting the metadata, but I can't find any option to set the output to use the metadata instead of the filename as the document title. Anyone have any wisdom? Thanks!

I've created several RH2022 projects fairly successfully, but this last is creating folders where I don't want them. Here's a screen shot to illustrate:As you can see, most of the projects have project folder and a Frameless folder; but the SSRS Meeting Reports folder a couple of additional folders -- template and whxdata -- which are also in the Frameless folder. How is this happening and how do I prevent it? Thank you,Lon

I've successfully generated a Microsoft HTML Help (CHM) file with this same project many times in the past. However, currently the error shown below is preventing this and I'm unable to interpret what corrective action needs to be taken. I would appreciate any recommendations. Hi everyone,I’m facing an issue in Adobe RoboHelp while working with the HTML5 output preset.I’ve added a logo to my output, and it appears fine on the home page, but when I open any topic page separately in browser, the logo looks different.  I imported that specific topic from the other project that has its own logo. Did any one face this same issue? Thoughts please

Robohelp upgarde from Classic Version to RH 2022 , Pop up files are not imported in Contents folder and therefore not working in the in Browser.after the  Output is generated .   Upgrade Project option was used for importing the old RH project files.   Can we have a way out that the Pop ups  are imported in one go as they are showing in old SSL folder but not being imported to contents folder in new RH 22.    

Hello, is there a way to change the font color of a responsive HTML label?  I'm specifically look for the "Click here to see this page in full context" label, but it could apply to any.  it's hard to read with the skin we're using, and it's even harder to read if we wanted to use the Azure Blue:  I've found where I could change the text of the message (Output/Labels/English/Responsivehelp.  But if I wanted to make the font white, for example, is there a project file I could edit?

Hello.  I'm wondering if it is possible to display the Expand/Collapse All button when following an external link to a specific topic (or the topic is opened in a new window) without having to click on the "Click here to see this page in full context" link.  Currently, when you access a topic from a direct link, you get that message so it looks like this:The "Click here to see this page in full context" link is (I thought) on top of where the Expand/Collapse All button is.  You have to click the link and display the TOC in order to see the button.  I updated the template to align that button to the left, thinking perhaps you'd be able to see the button where I added the yellow highlight:But that didn't work - you still can't see it unless you click the link and also display that TOC.  Is it possible in a responsive HTML5 output to display the expand/collapse button from a direct link without showing the TOC?
