I’ve tried multiple times to download Reader to my new Surface Pro 11 and whichever way I try it ends up with “Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL”. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
base on investigation that was opened to Microsoft support i got the following reponse:have identified, a problem in one of Adobe's 64-bit modules shipping with Adobe Acrobat (64-bit, 25.001.21184) that loads a different version of Window Common Controls as their 64-bit ActiveX control needs to properly render a PFD file.We only tested with default configuration of Adobe Reader. There is no such rendering problem when the control hosting process is 32-bit, as this loads the 32-bit version of Adobe's ActiveX control, which loads the desired version of the 32-bit Window Common Controls. The issue only happens with 64-bit control hosting processes.Basically, it would be important the Adobe investigated the 64 bit plugin and ensure that they properly call the correct Windows Common Controls. We also engage our Adobe contacts internal to address this towards them directly.
The threads I’m seeing on this are some 15 years old, so.. here we go. Again. Exploding with rage, because Adobe has managed to kill 3 more hours of productivity today.Stupidly upgraded to the disaster that is called paid version of Acrobat. Quickly uninstalled, subscription cancelled. Then I went to reinstall Reader and there’s no box to decline McAfee. (Nor is there a way to STOP the installation process, aside from CTRL-ALT-DEL, which I engaged in a panic.)Is there no way to install without McAfee these days? If so, please list your fav alternate pdf reader. Thanks to the community. Middle finger (as usual) to Adobe.
I like highlighting when I'm studying. I noticed that, now, every time I highlight something, Acrobat Reader automatically switches from the highlighting tool to the text selection tool, forcing me to click on the highlighting tool again. This is quite annoying, I'm pretty sure it didn't do that before. Is there a configuration I need to change to stop this behavior?
I have a windows 10 all in one desktop computer. I cannot open or read any PDF files. I have tried turning off my Norton Security firewall and that does not resolve the issue. The error message is very generic: Application Initialization Error. I have also tried to installing using Google Chrome but receive the same error message. Microsoft said they cannot help me. Adobe doesn't offer phone support for Adobe Reader. Can someone please tell me what I can do to get this resolved??? It is extremely frustrating!

When user opens a particular pdf, the above-mentioned error pops up. We are currently using Adobe Acrobat (64-bit), Version 25.001.21184. We are using the free version. Is there a link to download the font ArialMT?
I’m trying to print one page from a PDF file which only will load in Acrobat; although each time I try to print, I get an error that it’s a manual feeder even though my printer settings are set to automatic ?

Pokus o odinstalaci starší verze Adobe Acrobat Reader DC- Czech, i instalaci poslední verze, i podle AcroRdrDC2500120997_cs_CZ.exe, končí hláškou o nesprávném pořadí instalace. Mám nainstalován i pdfArchitect, před časem byl možný souběžný provoz, ale nyní nelze Reader (z roku 2021) vůbec spustit. Díky
Tried to install Acrobat Reader (DC) from the Windows store and also from downloads. Both are not successful. Only have the standard windows native antivirus. Does create an empty folder in program files x86. But nothing runs. Also nothing showing Add Remove Programs and nothing in the start menu. I then tried to do the same on a new user on the the same machine, and install fails again. Already tried system restore, and it was a new build. Maybe Adobe has a problem? Suggestions? Thanks!
Hi there,I have created a PDF document and would like to prevent it from being converted to Word to ensure that my document cannot be copied. How can I do this? Thanks.
When filling up the form at https://get.adobe.com/reader/licenseform for permission to distribut Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, the options of operating system do not include Apple Silicon macs, only Mac OS Intel and Mac OS PPC.Given the fact that Apple computers are on their Silicon architecture, is this permitted though it is not explicity stated? The “Authorized Operating Systems” section in the agreement mentions that OSes selected are nonetheless a part of those listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/system-requirements.html which mentions “M1 Apple Silicon processor”. Does that mean that computers with the Apple M1 chip are covered, and the Acrobat Reader software can be distributed to them, even though the license does not state it?Hope to hear from someone in Adobe licensing on this.Thanks.
This has happened to me maybe 15 times in the past month. I'm on Windows 10 Home version 1909. I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2020-009-20074. I have three different "input methods" (i.e., keyboards, or "preferred languages") set up. When I'm typing inside a comment bubble and press Left Alt + Left Shift to switch between keyboards, Reader often freezes. This doesn't happen every single time, but it does happen frequently. The only solution is to close the program and to start it up again, which often results in loss of recent work.I have three sets of dump files ready to share. I can link to them here unless doing so will compromise my security. (I don't know what they contain.)
Everything was working fine when I was using the free Adobe reader. We intalled Adobe Acrobat Pro yesterday and now the "Print in Grayscale" box doesn't work. I have to go into my printer settings and change it to mono. It doesn't even work when auto color is selected. I really shouldn't have to go deep into printer settings every time I need to change from color to grayscale. This problem only occurs in Adobe. Is there a way to fix this or work around?
Hi,I have upgraded Windows 11 devices at my company from Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro to Adobe Acrobat (64‑bit) Unified Installer. I’m trying to understand how Adobe Acrobat (64‑bit) is supposed to update silently and without user interaction. Adobe Acrobat Reader would update automatically using scheduled task Adobe Acrobat Update Task and AdobeARMservice, but the service is not created when installing Adobe Acrobat (64‑bit) I can see “Adobe Acrobat Update Task” in Task Scheduler, and it seems like this task is what keeps Acrobat up to date. It downloads the update files correctly, including the 64‑bit manifests and MSPs. But when the update is ready to install, the updater still needs UAC elevation, and if no admin is logged in, it just stops and shows a prompt. Logs show the updater trying to elevate and failing (ShellExecute failed / SE_ERR_ACCESSDENIED) even though the task was set to “run with highest privileges.” Adobe’s documentation says Acrobat/Reader can “regula

I opened Preferences > Generative AI, and deselected Enable generative AI features. I also disabled new Acrobat Reader and restarted the program and restarted my computer, but the AI comments are still there. So frustrating. My MACOS is Tahoe 26.2 and Acrobat version is 2025.001.21145
In Adobat Acrobat DC I would like, as in previous versions, to be able to open a document at its table of contents and add the same document in a tab opened to the page I choose. Here’s how I used to do it: Menu > Window > New Window, then I dragged the new window to the taskbar and a new tab would appear there. Now it no longer works — how can I get the same result?
New installation of Adobe Pro and cannot print. I can open in a browser and print with no issues, but not from the desktop version. IT has run a repair, with no resolution to the problem. Have also tried a full reinstall through Creative Cloud. Cloud says my version is up to date.Another coworker is having the same issue. I have reviewed many of the posts, related to similar issues, but none of the fixes work.
Hey Adobe Support, As of today (Jan 26) Mac with Apple Silicon Acrobat is still not opening password protected pdfs with a hyphen. This issue exists since a couple of years, my tax accountant always sends me pdfs with his default password which, unfortunately, includes a hyphen.Opening this with Mac OS Preview works without any hassle, System: MacOS 26.2, M1Acrobat: 2025.001.21145As it works in mac preview I still can narrow this down to Acrobat.Preferences reset did not help.Any ideas?
