Hey everybody I am creating some golf tracer shots for a golf competition. When the camera is steady making the shot tracer is pretty easy. It's when the camera zooms in I'm having difficulty. Attached is an example video (no tracer added yet) and would like to know if it's even possible to create a tracer and have it track the tracer while the camera zooms in. Also, it's an organic zoom in it's not digital. It's the way they shot it. Working on a super fast PC and everything is updated.
You may have noticed that Figma released Figma Motion and is gunning for animation software. Can we get Figma’s Auto-Layout in After Effects? How will the idea help your workflow? It is hard to imagine what design would not benefit from an auto-layout system. Anything with text, shapes, and images smaller than the full video frame would benefit. The simple example of “text in a box” is the most basic, but this same idea is required for animating UX/UI animation, product videos, and templates.Current workflows to mimic responsive design are to use complex expressions, 3rd party scripts, or manually create many variations.Expressions are a bad workflow for layout because they require a coding skills which most motion designers don’t have; and for those with the skills, it is still tedious to set up and “rig”. Once rigged, AE’s limited performance is further bogged down by running those heavy expressions on every single frame.Scripts and plugins are a bad workflow for layout because they
I need to download after effects 2023 but it's not available in the creative cloud! how can I download it?
Environment:After Effects 2026 26.2.1x2WindowsSteps:1. Set a Render Queue Output Module to TIFF/image sequence.2. Enable "Skip Existing Files".3. Change the Output Module to a movie format where "Skip Existing Files" is disabled in the UI.4. Save the project.5. Run: aerender -project project.aepExpected:When "Skip Existing Files" is disabled/unavailable in the UI for movie output, it should not remain enabled internally.Actual:aerender logs the following warning:WARNING: 「既存ファイルの省略」は、「シーケンス」タイプの 1 個の出力モジュールを使用する時のみ使用可能です。This suggests that "Skip Existing Files" remains enabled internally even though the UI does not allow changing it for movie output.Impact:This can cause confusion in automated rendering workflows. aerender may return exit code 0 while logging this warning, so render farm systems may treat the job as successful.Workaround:Switch the Output Module back to TIFF/image sequence, uncheck "Skip Existing Files", then switch back to the movie format and save the project. 環境:A
When I export my project the color becomes a lot lighter. Mainly the text, but you can also see it in the picture. I’m using the general profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1 I tried to export my project with (same as project) and selecting the same profile in the export settings. Both become dull. Is there a setting I’m missing? I tried different screens/displays as well but its in the file. See screenshot. The right one is the correct color, that is the after effects file. And the left is my export (mp4). It happens in mp4 as well as mov. I would like a mp4 but if i can get it right in mov I’m already helped a lot.
I need to apply grain frequently in my work to clean plates I’ve created, and it needs to match the 6k/4k HDR plates I’ve been provided. I prefer Add Grain to Match Grain, as it’s quicker and more accurate for me to manually set it. Because of the size of the plates, and the lack of GPU acceleration in this plug-in, it’s the main bottleneck in my rendering speed, plus 32-bit would help with color fidelity. Obviously, multiframe rendering would be great, too, but I would at least love GPU acceleration to start!
I have found the solution, after upgrade caption to graph, select all the graph captions Select all the graph of captionNow in the properties click on the wrench icon of the text, PropertiesChange Text layer type to Point Text Select TextSelect Ok. Now copy layers and paste it to AE. Now you can easily add effects and un-precompose or any thing you like.
Issue: Keyboard shortcut for “Don’t Save” in the Save Changes dialog no longer works.Steps to reproduce:Make a new empty project, make a new comp, close the project to the trigger the Save Changes dialog. Press command-D to trigger “Don’t Save”.Expected result: Don’t Save should be triggered and the dialog goes away.Actual result:Nothing happens in the save dialog. In the menubar, the Edit menu highlights because it probably thinks I’m triggering the keyboard shortcut for Edit > Duplicate.Adobe After Effects version: 26.2.0, 26.2.1, 26.3.0b53Operating system: MacOS 15.7.5 The shortcut works in AE 25.6.5. Escape (Cancel) and return/numpad-enter (Save) both work correctly. While the dialog is open, opening menus shows that many menu commands are correctly disabled, but many are still actionable and their keyboard shortcuts are still trigger-able—even if none of them do anything other than quickly highlight the menu.
Playback completely non-functional in AE 26.3 (timeline does not advance) — works fine after rollback to 25.6 After Effects: 26.3 (2026)OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (build 26200)CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265K (20 cores)GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti (16GB VRAM), driver 32.0.16.1062 (June 11, 2026)RAM: 64GBPremiere Pro runs and plays back normally on the same machine Playback is completely non-functional in After Effects 26.3. Pressing spacebar, clicking the play button in the Preview panel, and using Composition > Preview > Play Current Preview all fail. The timecode does not advance at all — not even a single frame plays. No green/red render bar appears.Manually dragging the playhead updates the composition view correctly, so frame rendering works fine — only the playback engine (time advancement) is dead. The issue reproduces even in a brand-new project with a single solid layer, so it is unrelated to project content, footage, or expressions. Tried (all failed):Reset preferences (C
This was a very persistent bug that is ENRAGING, as it forces me to check EVERY SINGLE FRAME I export. The issue is that After Effects sometimes imports footage incorrectly, with missing, skipped or glitched frames. I know it's incorrect, because when I click "reload footage" - the issue goes away (but can pop back up after sometimes). I have now upgraded to absolutely specced Macbook Pro, exported natively from After Effects into a ProRes 422HQ mov, bring it back in - and lo and behold - missing frames that flash black (background) in the middle of playback. How is this issue not fixed, it's beyond me, as it's been years now. And let's not get me started on how terrible the audio playback is in AE... that's a whole other unfathomable issue, for a company of this scale to no play back audio properly in a product designed for professionals. But honestly, this dropped / scrambled frame issue is SOOOO IMPORTANT to fix. There's no way you should be forcing users to watch eve
Hey! When using the Pickwhip to reference things while writing expressions I frequently forget to twirl open the property I intend to select. This usually means that I have to exit writing the expression where I am, twirl open the property in the timeline to make it visible, then resume the expression writing / pickwhip and carry on.It would be a good quality of life improvement if while dragging the pickwhip, hovering over a twirled-up item would unfold it. The closest analogue would be dragging a file into the Project Panel - if I hover over a closed Project Panel folder for a second or so it will twirl open.I’d initially suggest that this would only be useful to have on the Expression Pickwhip - there seems to be limited functional use for adding it to the Matte or Parent Pickwhips.Perhaps a longer timeout when hovering over a layer itself compared to hovering over a layer property might be useful - that way users would be less likely to trigger un-twirling when simply selecting top
Right clicking keyframes on any layer is causing the menu that pops up to stretch across the entire screen and not remain it's normal size. It's showing random text that's in the project within the window that appears after right clicking any keyframes. It also includes random Chinese characters within the pop up window panel. I’ve purged data/cache and restarted. Goes away for a little, then right back.
I’m having a very specific crash in After Effects and I can’t find a real fix anywhere. When I try to change the font on a text layer, AE crashes ONLY when the text layer is highlighted AND I type certain letters in the font search box (for example “a”). I can type those letters normally in the Character panel, and I can scroll fonts normally. The crash only happens when the text layer is selected and I type into the font search field. AE does NOT freeze or lag — it instantly closes or gives a controlled crash Reset Preferences does NOT fix it Clearing cache does NOT fix it Safe Mode does NOT fix it Reinstalling AE does NOT fix it I did NOT modify AE or install plugins This only happens on text layers that already exist in the comp Creating a new text layer sometimes avoids the crash, but the problem returns when searching fonts I recently activated some Adobe Fonts, but the crash still happens even after deactivating them Other Adobe apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc
“When I enable Per-Character 3D on a text layer in After Effects, the text disappears. I want to apply a mask and rotate the text 90 degrees while keeping Per-Character 3D enabled. In Advanced 3D, I can extrude the text, but it disappears when I switch modes. How can I fix this, and what causes the issue?
When tracking is terminates prematurely, there is no way to escape. Mocha has to be forced quit. And more: saved versions are not recovered, only a dialog for opening 'autosaved' versions is popping up.Please repair this - it's almost impossible to work with Mocha for Ae now.
When I try to change a font on a text layer, it gives me “After Effects warning: Unknow BIB Error: Probable invalid access, CT, 0 ( 83 :: 3 )”, specifically when I write only “si” in the properties panel. This is the first time that this problem has occurred. Prior to this problem happening, I downloaded 4 fonts from Adobe Fonts: ‘Cheddar Gothic’, ‘Six Hands’, ‘JohnDoe’, and ‘Papyrus’. As I went in After Effects and tried to change the font to an already existing text layer and started typing “si” (only with the letters si together) in the properties panel to select the ‘Six Hands’ font it gave me this error, for the first time. (I have a video of the problem) I tested a couple of things to see if it would be tied to that font, I deleted it, tried again and it did the same thing. The confusing part is, when I typed only “s” in the fonts properties panel, I scrolled down to the ‘Six Hands’ font, selected it and didn’t have a problem of using it in the project (I forgot to record this pa
I would like a mobile version of after effects because i've seen many good edite made with after effects and i want to make the same too, but can you make it simple like capcut for mobile in the future?,Thanks
I'm running into what feels like a workflow dead end in After Effects, and I'm wondering how experienced users deal with this. Here's my setup: I have multiple levels of nested precomps. Deep inside those precomps are vector shape layers with effects applied (for example CC Bend It, used to animate things like plants or grass bending in the wind). My top-level precomp is placed inside the main composition and treated as a 3D layer. The issue appears when I animate a 3D camera.Without Continuously Rasterize, everything works correctly, but as soon as the camera gets closer, the entire precomp becomes soft/blurry (Depth of Field is disabled). I understand that's expected because AE is treating the precomp like a rasterized image. If I enable Continuously Rasterize on the precomp, the image stays perfectly sharp, which is exactly what I want. However, this creates two new problems: The internal transforms of the nested layers can change, although enabling 3D on the appropriate precomps
The same scene that took 45 minutes to render in 26.2.1 now takes 2 hours with the same settings, objects and lighting setups. I even made sure Depth of Field is turned off. Also, light objects in the preview tab cause the project to crash. Had to hide them from the preview.
So I have a 2D project of a line that is moving from left to right while the "camera" follows it (by adjusting a null's anchor point to always have it in the center of the screen so it looks like the camera is following the line movement). I can successfully attach an object (i.e TEXT) to the line's movement so it looks like the Text is at the front of the line and directing the path. However when the line goes up and down, the text rotates it's shape WITH the line instead of staying horizontal. Is there a way to LOCK the text's rotation so it still follows the line's path, but doesn't rotate and stays rotationally stationary but still moves with the line? Thanks guys -- any ideas?
Here are the steps to reproduce the problem:Create a comp, 1024x1024 Create any 2D object, e. g. a text and center it in the comp Add the VR Converter effect to the text layer Set Input to 2D Source, set output to Fisheye (Fulldome)Result: The text just disappears. Re-orienting the camera view does not do anything visible.Expected result: The text is distorted for Fulldome and can be placed in the dome by re-orienting the camera view. This used to work in older versions of After Effects, as you can see for example in this Youtube tutorial at 1:35 : My system: After Effects 26.3.0 (Build 87), WIndows 11, Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti, Driver 610.62
As the title says, the UI fonts are blurrier than in After Effects 2024 and earlier. Since I'm on a 1080p monitor, it is very hard to look at that much antialiasing. Can I get UI looks similar to After Effects 2024? I did everything to fix that, changed settings, display settings, etc., on the internet. cause of this issue, I can't go for future upgrades, sadly. Still stick with After Effects 2024. seems like bold and antialized UI text and icons on 2025 and 2026 give unwanted eye strain if used for while, compared to 2024 and earlier. Those earlier versions has more crispier UI fonts and ui and theme. I downloaded photo from another bug report which you simply ignored. I don’t want to continue this chat, when you can clearly see it.. or you can ignore this tooo and wait until 7 years to fix that..
I am running mac os 26.5.1, and since the point one update, any project that has to be converted from an older version of After Effects, the media will say it’s missing. When trying to replace the missing media by pointing to the missing file, it says Can’t import, found no matches for the selected file.If I open and resave every media file, it will import.
I am experiencing a problem in one of my After Effects projects when working with Hebrew text. When I press Ctrl+T and try to click on the screen, the project suddenly jumps back to the beginning of the timeline, and there is no response from the text layer. When I exit the project, I also receive the following warning: Error reading the text layer, skipping the text layer After Effects Warning: your project file is apparently damaged. (Skip section: 1) Please save using a different name I saved the project under a different name, but the issue still comes back.I am working with After Effects 26 on a MacBook Max 3, so this does not seem to be a system performance issue. Is there any way to fix this problem? I would appreciate your guidance.i also cleaned the cache
I am working on a motion graphics project in After Effects where I need to use video clips that were originally posted on Instagram as source footage. The problem I keep running into is that Instagram provides no built in way to retrieve your own previously published videos in original resolution once the local file is deleted from your device. Screenshots and screen recordings are not suitable because the output quality is tied to screen resolution rather than the actual source file quality, which creates noticeable compression artifacts when working in After Effects at higher resolutions.I recently tried using snapinstaink as a browser based solution to retrieve the original quality video file from the public post URL before importing it into After Effects and the quality difference was significant compared to screen recording. However I noticed that some retrieved video files from Instagram have a variable frame rate which causes sync issues when working with compositions set to a f
