Switching between 1-view and 2-views has unexpected maginification. 1. Set your Composition panel to 2-views2. Set both views to different magnifications3. Set the Composition panel to 1-view I would expext the the first view to be visible at the magnification that it was set to. Instead, the first view takes on the magnification of the second view. After exporting a Mogrt via the EGP, the comp selection in the Project panel jumps to the bottom-most comp in the same root- or first-level folder. If you have a lot of comps to export, this makes it difficult to keep track of which comp was the last to be exported.AE v26.0.0, macOS v26.5.1(I’ve also seen this occur in AE v25)
Used Materials are still listed in the Project Panel when only ‘Unused’ assets should be listed.Type “Unused” in the Project Panel It still comes up even though it’s “Used 2 times”This bug exists in the latest update as well as the Beta
I’m working on a project in Premiere that I used a bunch of AE comps to do titles and other motion. It was all shot on RED footage, so it’s a fairly heavy project. I’m trying to send it to a colorist, but even after using “render and replace” on all the AE comps, duplicating my sequences and deleting every AE linked comp from my project, Premiere Project Manager keeps including them when I try to consolidate the project to send. When I re-open the premiere project, it puts all the AE comps back into the project in a “Recovered Clips” folder. I’ve even tried Consolidate and transcode on the clips and it still won’t leave the AE projects out of the project which is a problem, b/c then it pulls in a ton of other RED footage into the folder and makes it a huge project to try and send. I’m going insane.
AE 2025 and 2026 will often (e.g. every 20 mins or so) tell me it cannot allocate memory and task manager shows it using all 128gb of RAM. It seems to be irrelevant how complex the project is, the last crash I was simply animating the scale of a rectangle shape. I don't even need to be doing anything , simply being open will cause AE to consume all of the RAM my pc has. I have never encountered this before 2025/26 versions. Adjusting memory preferences, clearing cache, disabling compressed frames, resetting preferences does nothing.
Hi everyone,I keep getting a recurring error when trying to use After Effects. A crash window pops up saying: "GPUSniffer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."I have attached a screenshot of the exact error for reference. Can anyone explain why this background process is crashing and what I need to do to fix it?My Specs: GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 OS: Windows
IssueRendering a composition using the Advanced 3D Renderer causes memory usage to steadily increase throughout the export until After Effects reaches its memory limit and fails with the following error: "After Effects error: After Effects has unexpectedly run out of memory and cannot complete this export." The issue reproduces consistently on both macOS and Windows and appears to affect all versions of After Effects after 25.4. In addition to the render failure, After Effects does not appear to fully release memory after the error occurs, leaving the application in an unstable state until it is restarted. Steps to Reproduce1. Create a composition using the Advanced 3D Renderer.2. Add multiple 3D layers that are pre-compositions.3. Have those prec-ompositions contain additional nested pre-compositions.4. Configure the nested prec-ompositions so they reference different sections of a large master composition.5. Apply Geometry Options > Curvature to some or all of the 3D layers.6. Ren
After Effects 2026 crashes during startup while scanning/loading common Adobe plug-ins.Steps to reproduce:1. Launch Adobe After Effects 2026.2. Wait for the startup/splash screen plug-in scan.3. AE 26.2.1 and 26.0MACOS 26.5 (25F71) This happens when an animated property is added to Essential Properties. In the original comp, keyframes from several tracks can be copied and pasted in one go.But when the comp is inside a parent comp, the same keyframes have to be copied and pasted one by one. When several properties’ keyframes are selected, copy paste does nothing.
We have some AE licenses in the company. We usually work with raw sequences from Sony and Canon cameras on older versions of AE, but this time we upgraded from AE 24 to 26 (a bad decision). Now, when we import a Raw sequence, Camera raw opens and after we make some adjustements and clic “Save” it crash and AE too. Sometimes it works but if you want to make a new change in Camera raw, both crashes. I have tried all the following steps with several computers and the bug persists:1. Toggle Hardware Accelerated DecodingA known conflict often occurs when hardware acceleration interacts poorly with raw footage. In After Effects, go to Edit > Preferences > Import (or General on some versions).Uncheck Hardware accelerated decoding.Restart After Effects.2. Purge the Camera Raw CacheA corrupted or full cache can cause the ACR dialog to freeze or crash. In After Effects, go to Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (or Media & Disk Cache).Navigate to the Performance tab if prompted.Click P
Been working on a project using the same version of AE for the past 6 months. Suddenly, drone footage that I’ve used since the beginning of this project is not previewing properly. I’ve tried emptying and clearing disk and conformed media caches, as well as reimporting the same clip. It skips frames, it plays some frames out of order, but then plays small chunks of the clip correctly.Any ideas?
IssueOn Windows (unsure of the exact Mac equivalent) pressing Ctrl+Backspace when editing text will typically delete the last word or set of characters up to a space or hyphen. In AE this behaviour does not happen. When editing the content of a text layer, pressing Ctrl+Backspace appears to have no effect. If editing a layer name (any layer, not just text layers) pressing Ctrl+Backspace will generate a non-printing character that displays as a rectangle, identified on https://invisiblecharacterviewer.com/ as U+007F. I don’t know if this will work in a post here, but the specific character has been pasted between the following marks ‘’.Interestingly, the new layer name sanitation system means that the non-printing characters are not shown when the layer name is committed with Enter, but will show again if the layer name is subsequently edited, but only in the live edit state.Ctrl+Backspace will also generate the U+007 character in text fields, such as those in the Essential Properties pan
Hey @JohnColombo17100380 ! are you aware of this bug? this white flash when opening 😔 (Windows 11).I also noticed a longer startup time compared to older alternatives like ConsoleFX.
Issue : “Fill” effect and other miscellaneous pre-installed effects are entirely missing from the Effects Panel and “Manage Effects” windowAE version : 26.2OS : MacOS Tahoe 26.3.1What I did to try and fix the issue : reset Preferences uninstalled and reinstalled AE opened the “Manage Effects” window and activated all effects uninstalled and reinstalled in an older version (25.6.5)The last step allowed me to see “Fill” again in the list

Issue - filling up ram, with a preview render, never releases that ram, causes the application to generally not work. Steps to reproduce - I use a plugin, element 3d, and preview render a long comp, that fills the ram cache, then change the comp and try to work with it. AE refuses to render anything. Expected result - AE clears up ram, prioritizes what it is supposed to be doing. Actual result - preview is BLACK. AE does not render anything. eventually it will crash, as the app uses more and more ram. Screen recording – this is impossible, as AE sucks down all system resources Adobe After Effects version - Version 26.0.0 (build 67) Operating system - Mac os X Tahoe 26.2 GPU driver version (Windows only) - NA Video format - Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs: It seems to affect projects that use large amounts of ram, and possibly plugins. yes AE 2025, I discovered it in December of 2025. I'm trying to use the new import illustrator SVG from clipboard feature in Beta, after pasting one object into after effects it keeps pasting in the same shape even when i copy next shapes in illustrator. To fix it i have to purge all memory in after effects and then i can keep pasting more shapes/SVGs from illustrator into after effects. So after each shape i have to purge, otherwise it keeps pasting the same thing
When trying to export a mogrt out of after effects, it gives me and unknown exception. I’m using After Effects 25.0, on Windows. It happens with every single project, even if I create a new one.It never happened before, until our team moved to a new building and are connected to a VPN.
Issue: In Local Axis Mode, the 3D Transform Gizmo's Z (depth) handle translates the layer along World Z instead of its local Z when dragged in the Active Camera or any perspective view. Local X and Y handles are unaffected. The same local-Z move performed in an orthographic view works correctly, isolating the fault to the gizmo's perspective-view drag rather than the transform engine.Steps to reproduce:Create a 3D Camera Tracked comp of a scene, add solids using the camera tracked points. In the Tools panel, select Local Axis Mode. With the comp set to Active Camera (or any perspective view), drag the gizmo's blue Z (depth) handle back and forth using a solid.Expected result: The layer translates along its local Z axis (its facing/depth direction), consistent with Local Axis Mode.Actual result: The layer translates along World Z, ignoring Local Axis Mode. Local X and Y handles behave correctly — only Z is affected. Dragging the same layer along local Z in an orthographic view (e.g. Top
I have effect plugin that use the PF_OutFlag2_I_USE_3D_CAMERA flag. In the After Effects project I have such setup:Camera layer starts at composition frame 10 and have duration of 30 frames My effect layer also starts at composition frame 10 and have duration of 30 framesWhen I select composition frame in the range 10-20 and change the camera transform, my effect does not receive PF_Cmd_SMART_PRE_RENDER/PF_Cmd_SMART_RENDER events. For frames 20-40 everything works fine. Everything also works fine when I move both layers to composition frame 0.Test ProjectGitHub repository with reproduce for After Effects 2025/2026: https://github.com/K1tty/bug-repro-ae-camera
It seems to be impossible to have stable shadows from a spot light with the Advanced 3D Renderer, the darkness just changes randomly on every frame. I’ve tried a lot of different settings and this issue seems impossible to solve.Higher Render Quality > FailsELS Resolution Double > FailsHigher ELS Smoothness > FailsBigger Casting Box Size > FailsMercury GPU Acceleration (CUDA) > FailsMercury Software Only > FailsMedia Cache On/Off > FailsThere are no overlapping layers either. Most recent GPU driver is installed. This occured on multiple projects in different AEPs.
To achieve pure perceptual white while working in ACES/OCIO (with viewer set to ACES/sRGB) I will typically apply “Color Correction>OCIO Color Space Transform>sRGB” to white text or white solid. The same plug-in is used when importing footage that is in sRGB- with Preserve RGB checked. (An alternate route is to interpret footage as sRGB in the interpret footage color tab settings.)This is where the bug appears: Attempts to scale down the result causes degradation in the edges- particularly with fonts in logos set against a high contrast background. This bug does not appear when logos/text are scaled without sRGB applied (or alternately sRGB interpretation set on import.) The down side is that colors are incorrect- with whites remaining a subdued grey with text, solids and sRGB imports. My work around is to do my scaling/size transforms in a pre-comp with raw color and then apply “Color Correction>OCIO Color Space Transform>sRGB” downstream in the main comp to get non-ACES
text does not work in advaced 3d when i try to connect it to a path (like a circle’ and it doesnt turn 90 degs)it also doesnt accept some of the light features/ (when i have 3 texts layers one beneath another only the bottom one works with the light)
IssueAfter Effects inconsistently interprets Panasonic V-Log/V-Gamut footage using the Embedded / Media Color Space workflow.
