I have recently reinstalled Creative Cloud on a new laptop, and am needing to use InDesign 19.2 for a newspaper system we run across a large team. I am unable to locate this particular version in the “other versions” dropdown. Has Adobe stopped supporting this older version?
Above image is the Word document, below is what imports into Indesign.Font is DIN. Why does it import like this and how do I change it back to the original format?
Ever since the update in November last year we have not been able to successfully export any files that contain placed InDesign files to PDF. I placed a post in the community forums last year where multiple other people experienced the same issue but now that post is gone without being addressed so I am posting it here again.Last year the exported PDFs resulted in low resolution images regardless of what export settings were used. Now we aren’t even able to generate a PDF with constant errors. The reason we used placed InDesign files is so that if any changes are made to the original we’ll know because the file will show as modified. I do not want to copy and paste the InDesign file or place a separate file like a PDF or JPG as that doubles our work and doesn’t guarantee us that we will make sure all files are up-to-date. We’re using InDesign 21.2 on a 24 inch M1 Mac - everything was working fine until the latest update and we can’t afford to revert back to the previous versions now.I n
Hi everyone,I’m having trouble with the 'Share for Review' feature in InDesign yet again. I’ve already double-checked all my links, but I can't find a solution. This is the second time this has happened with this specific client, and for the sake of professionalism, I cannot generate a new link.Does anyone have a 'magic trick' to fix this situation? I’m honestly feeling quite discouraged. Thanks in advance for your help!Sandrine
I’m trying to print a project as a booklet on InDesign. I’ve printed a few before that were successful (after some troubleshooting), but I’m currently having an issue I haven’t run into before: When I test print the first four pages of my file to make sure the front and back are aligned, the front of what’s printed on the page is about 1/8” longer than the back. The front spread is 10” long and the back spread is 10 1/8” long. In the InDesign file, the spreads are 12x9.5 inches, but I’m printing at 85% scale, so maybe that’s the issue? However, 100% scale is too big for my printer (I created the file before I realized I would be printing at home). I’ve also printed previous projects at different scales and it went fine, so not sure why it would stop working now. The creep is set to 0 inches. Any idea what could be causing this? P.S. I’d rather not print from Acrobat. I was having major margin issues and could not get the pages to line up for the life of me (and yes, I adjusted the pri

I recently updated to Indesign CC 20.0 from 19.0. I used to have this issue with CS2 but I can't remember how I fixed it. When switching to and from the text tool Indesign lags for 5-6 seconds each time. Double clicking on a text box gets the same result, as well as using ESC to exit the text box and return to the pointer tool. I'm using Windows 11. There are 13 fonts in this 26 page document, lots of links but I was not having this issue until just the other day when I updated. I have reset my preferences and that did not help. <Title renamed by MOD>
Hi,I would like to configure Adobe Indesign Server (service) so that the cache files are cleared every time Adobe InDesign Server starts up. Can this be set via a parameter? Thank you.
I’m working with a InDesign template created in earlier versions, where the first page is an even-numbered page (page 2), with automatic page numbering. In version 21, when I place an object on page 3 (for example, an image), InDesign changes the numbering of the first page to 1 and makes it an odd-numbered page (and so on with the page numbering throughout the document); and if I try to manually reassign the number 2 to the first page, the application simply ignores it and keeps it as page 1. The only way I’ve found to keep the first page as an even number is to place it on the first page, select ‘Start page numbering at’ and assign it the number 2. But then, when I add the documents to a book, it forces me to change all the documents back to the ‘automatic numbering’ option, which slows everything down unnecessarily. Does anyone know of a way to avoid this and ensure that the pages retain the order of the template, as in previous versions?

Query: Containerizing Adobe InDesign Server on AWS EC2 Hello Team,I have a requirement related to deploying Adobe InDesign Server in a cloud environment and would appreciate guidance from the community.🔹are planning to run Adobe InDesign Server on an AWS EC2 Windows Server instance and are exploring whether it can be containerized for better deployment consistency and scalability.🔹 Key Questions Is it officially supported or recommended to install and run Adobe InDesign Server inside a container (e.g., Docker / Windows containers) on an EC2 instance? If containerization is possible: What are the recommended steps or best practices to set up InDesign Server in a containerized environment? Are there any specific prerequisites or configurations required (e.g., fonts, plugins, licensing setup)? What are the known limitations or challenges when running InDesign Server in containers, specifically regarding: Licensing compliance Performance and scalability Runtime dependencies Are

Dear all,Has anyone experienced the same thing after updating to version 20.4? That Compatible GPU and Monitor not detected. For the information with previous versions never experienced the same thing, below is my specisification lapotop:CPU: Inter Core i5 Gen 11thGPU: NVidia Geforce MX330.Please advice how to solve it.Thank you
InDesign users need a way to easily export documents as print spreads (imposed from reader spreads) from the “print booklet” option. Currently I can either print to my home printer or print to postscript, but not print to pdf. Distiller is no longer up to the task of handling complex postscipt files. Print designers need a way, when print shops request it, to send these types of files. As a layout program, this feature should have been baked in from the beginning.
NOT THAT ANYONE CARES — I know Adobe is moving fast with AI, etc. but all the new changes to InDesign in particular are totally slowing my process. Text is suddenly highlighted that never was before, command + z doesn’t always work, etc. And worst of all, Pantone Connect is useless. I’m old school. Was nearly a first-user on Macs in the ‘80s — my first was that little beige box with a B&W screen! I spend tons of time trying to figure out what to call the new issues and then search for the answers! Same with Acrobat describing what images are so that I can’t read the client comments hidden under the pop-ups. Maddening!!!
For example:Paragraph style A inherits only certain Grep settings from paragraph style B.Or, the “Paragraph Line” setting in A inherits from B, while other settings remain unrelated to B.Currently, I usually start by basing Style A on Style B, then modify it item by item. However, sometimes when Style A is based on Style B, many things change, and you have to start over from scratch. Sometimes, cell styles and object styles also require this functionality. This is different from importing styles from another document.
I have images in frames, and the images are MUCH larger than the frames. I’d like to be able to zoom in/out of the image, numerically (e.g. via typing in a %), but have the part of the image centered in the frame remain in the center of the frame. Is that possible?thanks!
The same problem that began to occur with Illustrator and Photoshop several years back is now occuring in InDesign (main palette window moves behind other active windows when you attempt to move the window). Not interested in work arounds and desktop viewing segmentations etc. I want to work the old standard way. Adobe and Apple please resolve this issue!!!
Hello,I need to find tracking for each paragraph. I change tracking size inbetween paragraph it shows null(empty) in indesign but in script even the tracking value mixed, it shows 0. I need the validation through script to find which page and which paragraph tracking is mixed. then i tried textStyleRanges, through stories and texts it wont work.
Hello, I use the INDESIGN program with the ARIAL narrow font. I cannot find the lowercase ʊ symbol to insert in the glyph list. I am also looking for a font for the ʊ symbol.
"Hi everyone,I recently switched to a new MacBook and I am trying to set up my workflow. I have several ongoing projects that were created using InDesign 2024 (version 19.x).To ensure the layout and formatting of these existing files remain perfectly intact, I do not want to convert them to the latest version of InDesign at this stage. I specifically need to install the 2024 version on my new machine to continue working on these files. However, when I check the 'Other Versions' section in the Creative Cloud Desktop app, the 2024 version is not listed or available for download. I have searched through various Adobe help pages but haven't found a direct download link or a way to make it appear in the app.Could someone please guide me on how to access and install InDesign 2024 on a new macOS system?Thank you in advance for your help!"
Hello, can anyone please tell me how to install InDesign 2024 version 19.3 .My creative cloud app is not offering the option to install older versions like how they show in tutorials when i searched a solution for this issue.
So, Adobe quietly stopped supporting the stand-alone distiller app I’ve relied on for 20 years to prepare printer spreads (vs. reader spreads.) This is something I do on a daily basis but distiller continually errors out with the latest rounds of Adobe updates. I have no way to easily convert my postscript files to pdf any more within the Adobe ecosystem. This is a GREATLY OVERLOOKED issue. What is everyone using as a workaround? Are you sending your files to the printer as single pages or reader spreads and letting them deal with? Is there a script you use to impose page layout within InDesign or are you finding ways to distill .ps files outside of Adobe? Thanks for your help!
