Photoshop

Ver. 27.9.1 (Windows 11) - When I try to edit the color of a Color Overlay Layer Style, the program freezes.  I can’t click the color swatch to change it, but I can use the eyedropper to change the color.  ANY other click results in a Windows chime sound saying that something is wrong.  Photoshop is frozen, I can’t exit the Layer Styles editor, can’t do anything except ‘End task’ Photoshop.   While typing this I also tried editing the color of a different layer Style, and as soon as I click the color swatch the same behavior results.  I also used the Paintbrush (not within a Lyer Style edit, just painting on a layer) and clicked the color swatch, same thing happens - the cursor changes to the Eyedropper and every click, no matter where, sets off the Windows sound and Photoshop is totally unresponsive. Keyboard shortcuts to change the tool (V or M) do nothing, just the same Windows sound as a response.  I have to force the program to shutdown, there’s no way out of this loop.

When I go to Merge Layers (Ctrl + E) it is not responding. I have tried using a different keyboard and still run into this issue. The selection itself works (right clicking and selecting Merge Layers myself) but the key command is not responding.  Any way to fix it?

When I’m typing a word with Polish letter ‘ą’ I’m selecting all text so my text is gone in the middle of typing. Every time I have to type something with that letter I have to stop after this letter, click right arrow to deselect and go back to typing. Letter works fine but at the same time it’s selecting all text. For selecting all text should only work Ctrl+A, not Alt+A.

When use Photoshop my shift key is acting like its stuck, im sure it isnt a keyboard issue, ive got a new keyboard but it still happens.   Photoshop 2019 vision 20.0.9

Running an iMac with Sequoia 15.7.3 and Photoshop 27.9.1. I have no use for the new New Document splash screen. In the past, clicking the “use Legacy New Document” option worked….now it does not...why not????

Hola… desde hoy, al intentar abrir una imagen para editr en Photoshop, me sale una ventana como la de la captura ajunta. Sólo funciona con fotos en formato .WEBP (rarísimo). Intenté de todo: actualicé la tarjeta gráfica (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, con 16 gigaas de Ram), deshabiliaté el uso de la GPU en Rendimiento (en Preferencias del programa), desinstalé y volvi a instalar el rpograma, etc. Alguien sabe a qué se debe este error? Gracias

At first I thought it was due to the latest update, but after a tip to install an older version, I still couldn't open a file. I use macOS 15.7.9

My wife has been using CS5 on her Windows 10 desktop - unfortunately the desktop was "damaged" in a hose move and she now has a new Windows 11 desktop. Can we load her CS5 software from the original CD onto the new windows 11 desktop? Will CS5 work with the new desktop? Yes I know that CS5 is ancient but she's been using it for about a dozen years and is very happy with it. Also she really doesn't want to learn a new version or pay a monthly fee to Adobe as she doesn't use Photoshop enough to warrant that. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.

I could use some help, please. I’m just learning how to use smart objects. According to a video that accompanied the package I purchased, I should be able to double click on the smart object, paste an image onto the smart object layer, click Save, and then choose one of the “stamps” that are on different layers. However, the stamps disappear once I’ve saved the document. All I can see is I had this working late last week, and today, it’s not working anymore. Can something have changed? Did I perhaps change something, or am I missing an important step? I re-downloaded the package just to make sure I hadn’t done anything irreversible to the files. When I copy and paste, it is asking me if I want to apply the transformation before saving. Could that be a problem?Here is a screenshot--I hope this makes sense. Thank you ! 

I just installed Photoshop 2025 on a new computer, M4 Max MacStudio on MacOS 15.7.1, and when I open it I get this error popup.There was a problem with Generator. If the problem persists, please see:http://www.adobe.com/go/photoshop_generator_errors_enNone of the solutions there seem relevent to a new install. I have no virus protection for instance. Log errors are copied below, starting with "No viable plugins were found in '/Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2025/Plug-ins/Generator/'" -- and indeed that directory looks to be empty? The later ones make it look like there's a bug in some script.I've read many posts here on similar problems but none of the mentioned solutions that I've tried so far have made any difference. PS will not open. I am told "The application “Adobe Photoshop 2026.app” can’t be opened." Tahoe 26.6 macbook with Apple chip. Started with trying to update (from either 27.6 or 27.7) which ran a long time and then messaged: "This is taking an unusually long time, investigating". waited some more, at least ½ hr in total and then canceled the update. Then tried to open PS and got the message: "The application “Adobe Photoshop 2026.app” can’t be opened.”Subsequently I succeeded in updated bridge.

Hi,Up until about a week ago, Iu sed my external HDs for scratch disks in Photoshop and they are no longer appearing in the app. I am running Tahoe on a MacBook Pro and have the latest version of Photoshop (and Photoshop Beta).I  have tried:Updating Photoshop  Rebooting my machine Ensuring Photoshop and cloud have full Disk access (both under Privacy permission and in Files & Folders) Both drives have plenty of space (3TB and 5TB respectively) I have full read/write permission of both drives and they are connected directly to my Mac (not through a hub)Both drives are formatted as ExFAT and while some online chats indicate it isn’t compatible with Photoshop . . . it WAS until about a week ago. I cannot reformat them, as they have other data that I cannot erase / move.UGH. Help!

My photoshop will not open.  Plus it will not let me take out photo from lightroom classic and move to Photoshop.  The computer and graphics are all up to date.  This has  worked for years and now nothing.

I am just learning to work with mockups and smart objects. This is a faux postage stamp I created and it’s going into a mockup that has deckled postage stamp edges etc. I’ve tried to use Free Transform to resize the “stamp” to the green “canvas” but it won’t fit exactly or proportionately. Is there something I can do to make it fit the green area precisely? Or something I can do to change the size of the green area so they’re both a closer match? Thank you.

I have my export settings to JPG quality Max of 7. But every time I go to export an image and close "Export As" it always defaults to quality of 6 and I have to manually change it every time. This is the case in both PS and PS Beta. On a MAC. PS beta V27.9.0 What can I do?

Is there a plan to fix the latest update disaster?? It's been a couple weeks now and nothing. Not happy!

 Hello,Après quelques jours de congés, je reviens travailler sur photoshop, et je me rends compte que mes brush d’arrondi flous font un rendu très bizarre. Au lieu d’avoir une opacité progressive, j’ai des sortes de dégradés en paquet avec des couleurs étranges saturées sur les contours. Impossible de réaliser un dégradé progressif pour un fond de ciel, cela me bloque complèetement sur mon travail en cours. Tous mes calques sont en mode normal, mes brushs aussi, opacité et flux en 100%. J’ai réinitialisé par défaut tous mes outils, pas de changement.Avez-vous eu ce type de bug? Car c’est clairement un souci de fonctionnement, je n’avais jamais eu ça en plusieurs années de travail sur photoshop, et ça arrive du jour au lendemain. when i click the generative fill button in photoshop, theres an Icon that says "fi" which stands for firefly. ive been able to click that in the past and choose nano banana / gemini 2.5. but this time when i click it, Firefly is the only option and nano banana gemini 2.5 isnt there any more. where did it go? how do i get it back? im on photoshop 2025 version "26.11.6"

Photoshop crashes. Photoshop was running fine until it said the scratch drive wasn’t big enough so I followed advice on forums and cleaned up some files in the c:drive to make more space. I also at this time opened the old gradients and followed advice to move them on my computer somewhere in the app data roaming. I have since checked the following: reset preferences, reset windows font cashe, manually deleted CT font cashe and roaming data, disabled GPU in preferences, reinstalled creative cloud and photoshop many times, ran a windows system repairs (sfc\scannow)  tried with a different local account on same laptop, used Adobe cloud cleaner tool,, checked read write access to folders (but could not do spool\drivers\colour). The problem started when I tried to fix the scratch drive and when I was at same time tried to restore the old legacy photoshop gradient tools. I have tried now to put my scratch drive on a different drive and this also doesn’t work (although I don’t know if possib
