Photoshop

Pardon my igorance, as I am relatively new to Ps, but have worked with Lightroom for several years. I have tried researching how to specify where my files and work are stored but I have not  located a tutorial or Youtube that helps.  The topic is not even broached in two Adobe Ps books I purchased.   I must keep demands on my iMac storage to a minium because I am running out of disc space.My photography workflow is to import everything I work on first to LrC, with my actual photo files on an external SSD drive (backed up).  I then edit some in Ps. When finished I usually but not always get a new TIF file back from Ps in LrC.   I don't understand why in Ps I see thumbnails of work in my Home directory, but they are not in Your Files. I don't know where work I was doing in Camera Raw is stored.  Cleary I am newby.  My preference is to store finished work in my LrC and large work in progress off of my computer--in the cloud or on that exte

This is a problem that has been solved in the past but has reemerged. I'm using Chrome Version 129.0.6668.71 (Official Build) (64-bit), and when I try to conduct a search in a Hebrew PDF document it only works if I write the search words backwards (mirror writing ). Fort instance searching for the word חתול I would have to write לותח. Has anyone else encountered the problem? 

When called from an Action, Camera Raw Filter applies the masks and the swatches in Color Mixer (and probably others I haven’t used/noticed) that were used the last time it was thus called … even when other images have been processed through ACR in the meantime. An example is attached, where the mask applied to a previous image (about 10 images ago) can be clearly seen.

Vor einiger Zeit hatte sich mein Photoshop CS5 aufgehängt und ich musste es neu installieren. Leider konnte ich im Anschluss die Seriennummer nicht mehr registrieren, konnte jedoch das Programm öffnen.Jetzt meldet er mir Zeitüberschreitung bei der Registrierung.Wie kann ich das Problem lösen?Neu installieren bringt nix. Laut Adobe sollte es ja auf dem gleichen  PC einfach wieder gehen und das tut es aber nicht.

since last year photoshop has become increasingly buggy and lags alot on start up. even after following the " optimization Guide" it still lags. When you try to open an document it wastes upto 6-10 mins lagging.Seriously adobe is this what you acll service. Regards

Bonjour,Je me permets de faire appel à vous car j'ai un problème lorsque j'utilise un masque de fusion.Je détoure une image (en utilisant la méthode non destructive du masque de fusion) :Lorsque j'essaie d'effacer une partie visible (en sélectionnant l'outil "Plume" (couleur noire)), l'image reste toujours visible avec une faible opacité :L'opacité de l'outil "Plume" est à 100%. J'utilise une tablette. J'ai pensais qu'il s'agissait d'un problème avec la pression du stylet mais le problème est toujours présent avec une souris.Auriez-vous une piste à me donner pour résoudre ce problème ?Merci

Hi,After more than a year Photoshop still doesn't support Sony HEIC files. how come?  It's a great format if you need to shoot more images than RAW will fit on the memorycard.

This issue first started in CC 2017, I've completely uninstalled Photoshop, along with the Creative Cloud. I've also deleted all the folders in program files, documents, and everywhere I could find any Adobe folders. But after reinstalling everything I'm still not able to open it, I updated to CC 2018 and I'm still having this issue, I've even tried downloading previous versions, every time I re-download it my computer still wont open it. It doesn't pop up the normal launch box or anything, I look in the Task Manager, and every time I click run it pops up a new background process for it. I've tried running as an administrator, it will pop up the message asking if I want to run the program I click yes, it still pops up as a background process. I tried ending the process trees tied to Adobe but that didn't work either.

Hello Group, I am pretty solid in PS and familiar with the distribution tool and it works nicely for setting layers at the same height or even the same width (evenly) across all layers in a row. What i would like to know is there a way to set for example 1 layer center of the canvas and then subsequent layers to align from that center image a custom width value from it. (see examples). I have been using guides to help me do this over the years and would like a better systematic way to do this approach if available. Thank youU

My previous computer died, so couldn't transfer anything from previous version. One item is used frequently, was using mouse center wheel, with alt-ctl, to adjust brush size . I'd appreciate on how to get that control back.fred

Where my layers are they keep shrinking down to the bottom while the color box expands taking up all of the space on launch. 

Downloaded a webp/png image which I then upsized x2 - it is a transparent image that I'm just playing around with Adobe tools - when I went to use the removal tool to remove the logos it added a "halo" or "minimal border" around the entire image. I even tried using the lasso tool to only select the area I wanted to remove and then used the removal tool and the same thing happened again. Any explanations? Can this be resolved. I'm attached 2 graphics the before and after (the one that says remove is the halo one) - in order to see the halo you'll need to flatten the images. I left them transparent so you can see if you can replcate it on your own. Thank you very much for your time looking into this issue.  Using photoshop 26.3.0 Windows 11

hello, i used to download a lot of brushes in photoshop, after the many updates they seem to have disappeared, i am actually looking for free brushes of vegetation leaves, grasses, etc. where can i find them to download, i can't afford paid brushes 😞

Hello, thank you for giving your interest.My V25(long term support) photoshop seem to not working properly causing lag and stutter performance while other softwares do not, especially when I use brush or rotate tool, photoshop's task manager process will immediately consume up to 100% both CPU and GPU.- I have 5 displays connected but I only use 1 for photosho pand another 1 for reference, other remainings were put to sleep.- Changing memory usage down to 80-70% does not help- Both of V25 and 26 currently have the same issueWhat I do not understand is why does its performance so poor? Is it reasonable or I'mI'm using RTX 3070 with i9-10900k on 2560*1440 resolution screen. The additional informations were attached below.Thank you.

Hello. A relative just offered to pay for a year's PS for me (I'm disabled and haven't been able to afford it for a while now) so I want to get the best deal for them. From what I can tell, the pay monthy commit to a year is actually cheaper than the pay a year upfront deal because of the 50% off for 3 months. It also seems like you get zero money off for paying a year in advance (12*21.98 = 263.76 and the price is 262.51, less than a pound discount) Can anyone explain any of this to me, because it all looks so insanely priced I think I must be missing something?

Hello friends, I have designed many pages for a publisher for print purposes with a CMYK profile, but I faced an issue with the black-coloured text, it's available in four values while the publisher needs it in only one colour {K 100 Value } while CMY value should be with 0 Value. I can do it manually but I have many files and don't have time to do these files. I need a script or any way to automatically change these text to convert these values with all opened PSD files or any specific folder. it's very important to me. Thanks in advance.

The free Javascript "Save-Incrementally.jsx" for Adobe Illustrator 2022, Adobe Photoshop 2022 and Adobe InDesign 2022 or older versions saves the current saved document in the file format .ai, .psd or .indd and automatically adds a consecutive number to the file name. Thus, the file "Example.ai" becomes the file "Example-0001.ai", "Example-0002.ai" and so on; this works analogously for Photoshop and InDesign. This is also called "incremented" (continuous) saving. In this way, you can save individual steps in between and go back to an older version if necessary. What has changed in the past week that is causing the lag in the typing tool? No matter how much I update the tool it doesn't help. When I type I have to click off the text layer to be able to see what I typed. It takes me 5 or 6 tries just to type three words correctly, because I can't see where they are going, what font they are, what color they are... Then if I make a mistake it takes another 3 times to get the backspace to work, and then I get to start all over trying to type again. Does anyone have a fix for this? I am down to using PowerPoint to make text. It is just too much trouble to fool with in Photoshop. Thank you, Valesa

This is something I also struggled with in Photoshop for years.Can't we just crop a single image that we have in our document?Using the layer mask is not ideal, because if I then want to resize the image, it includes the space taken by the mask (unless I'm missing something?)Yes, I can select, invert, delete. But why so many steps? Also, if the image goes beyond the document's borders, it only deletes what's visible.What I usually do now is I select, create a new layer only with that selection, delete the layer underneath it. Again, why so many steps for something that could be achieved with a single tool or shortcut? Why is it that Adobe hasn't included a tool or shortcut just for this? Any idea? This seems to be such a basic thing a lot of us use, that's why I can't really wrap my head around why it isn't possible.

I have been away for a week and had shut my computer down.  I have just arrived home and started the computer up and opened PS.  The whole workspace has changed.  (I updated to latest version just before I went away - 26.3.0).  When I first installed the upgrade the first thing I did was to go to 'application frame' in 'Window' to clear the workspace fill and make it transparent. so I could see my desktop.  (I'm using a Mac) Now the application frame is floating in the screen, filled with black, yet the menu bar at the top is fixed on my desktop, seemingly unattached to the main application frame.  If I maximise the application frame I can't see the menu bar!!! Does that make sense?  I'm not sure how to descibe this.  I've never seen this before.  I've attached some screenshots to help explain!
