Hi everyone, I need help with a persistent Photoshop crash that seems related to Camera Raw.Issue:Photoshop crashes every time I try to open any image (JPG, PNG, or RAW). It shows the message: “Sorry, something went wrong”.Additionally, Photoshop crashes immediately when I try to access: Edit → Preferences → Camera RawBecause of this, I believe the issue is specifically tied to the Camera Raw plugin.Troubleshooting already performed:Disabled GPU acceleration Updated GPU drivers (clean install) Uninstalled Photoshop (without keeping preferences) Used Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool Deleted Camera Raw folders: AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw AppData\Local\Adobe\CameraRaw Removed Camera Raw plugin (.8bi) and reinstalled Removed Photoshop Beta completely Installed an older Photoshop version (same issue persists)FYI, Lightroom Classic works perfectly with the same files, so RAW decoding itself does not appear to be the issue.System information:Photoshop version: 27.4 OS: Windows 11 25h2
Not sure if this is a me problem or a wider problem, but when I’m attempting to save a new PSD and click “Save to Adobe Cloud”, instead of opening the window to allow me to do so, Photoshop closes the “Save As” window and then automatically reopens it. This doesn’t happen all the time but once it starts happening, I have no other option but to save locally, then close and restart Photoshop before I can once again save to cloud. It’s frustrating, and I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and if so, has a solution to stop it from happening again? Thank you!
After the latest Photoshop update, the desktop shortcut no longer works. When I click the Photoshop shortcut on Windows 11, the cursor shows a loading circle for a few seconds, but the application never opens. Nothing happens after that. However, if I open Adobe Creative Cloud and click the "Open" button for Photoshop from there, the application launches normally without any issues. This issue started immediately after the recent update. Before that, the shortcut worked without any problems.Steps to reproduce:Double-click the Photoshop desktop shortcut Wait a few seconds The loading cursor appears briefly, but Photoshop does not openExpected result:Photoshop should launch normally when clicking the desktop shortcut.Actual result:Nothing happens after clicking the shortcut, but it works when launched from Adobe Creative Cloud.
when a backup from photoshop 2025 is recovered on a photoshop 2025 computer does it overwrite the files
Hi everyone,I recently updated to the latest version of Photoshop (2026), and I’m encountering an issue with the Remove Background feature that was previously working perfectly. Now, when I try to use the “Remove Background” quick action, Photoshop shows the following message:“This action can only be applied to image layers. To try on a different layer, select the one you want from the Layers panel, then click Refresh.”However, I am selecting a valid image (pixel) layer. As shown in the attached screenshot: The correct layer is selected in the Layers panel. It is clearly a pixel layer (not a smart object, adjustment layer, or locked background). The image is visible and editable. Despite this, the Apply button remains disabled and the action fails with “Couldn't apply action.”Steps to reproduce: Open any image Ensure a pixel layer is selected Go to Discover panel → Remove Background Try to apply the action Expected result:The background should be removed as before.Actual resul
Here are the directions I am followingOpen your image in Photoshop.Click on the "Image" menu at the top of your screen.Select "Adjustments" from the drop-down menu.Choose "Replace Color…" from the Adjustments options.A "Replace Color" dialog box will appear.Click on the "Sampled Colors" option in the dialog box.Use the "Eyedropper" tool (the icon looks like a little dropper) that appeared in the "Replace Color" dialog box to click on the color in the image that you want to change. This adds the color you want to replace to the selection. To add more shades of the selected color, you can use the "Add to Sample" tool (the eyedropper with a plus sign). After you've selected the color you want to replace, you can use the "Hue," "Saturation," and "Lightness" sliders to change the selected color to the new color you want.Once you've made the color changes you desire, click OK to close the dialog box. I was initially attempting to do this on a largly black and white photo. I later read tha
I know how to use generative expand on an image and how to use generative fill. But suppose I have a white background with a smaller image in front of it on a separate layerand I want to use generative expand just on that smaller image. Can it be done? Or can I only expand a full sized image? I haven't found a way to do this.
Hello everyone.Apparently that possibility is no longer available after a specific version of Photoshop CC 2015 and I'm wondering if there is another way to get the same result without too much work and stress.Let's assume that we have a cube 6x6 that I want to slice in single pictures, for some reason the lines on the pictures are not in the same position as the ones created by Photoshop so I will need to move them.In Photoshop CC 2015 after you do right click, slice selection, put your preference and click ok, all the slices are already selected and if you move one of the lines created by Photoshop you will move for the entire slice selection (example in attachment)Something similar can be obtained in the new version of Photoshop if you use the Slice Tool Selection, hold Shift and click in each slice (which is taking a lot of time).Anyone have an idea how to solve/bypass this problem? Thank you
This is a problem I've had for years, I can't find a solution online so I thought I would document it to share and start a dialogue. I just want to be able to move my selections by small amounts again! Snapping is not enabled, this is photoshop 2024, but I've had the same issue with older versions of photoshop. Is this just a setting tick box I've missed? I've documented it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9UlmjevH-8
My Adobe Creative Cloud Application on my Macbook 2023 just had me update my Photoshop application this morning (04/01/2026) at around 10 am-ish. It was taking too long and I had work to do, so I canceled the update. When I went to open my Photoshop, I got an error that it couldn’t open because it wasn’t finished or it had been damaged. I tried restarting my computer and I got the same problem when I clicked directly on my Photoshop app. When going into the Creative Cloud application, the Photoshop app wasn’t even installed. After reinstalling it and finally getting it to open, my Workspace was completely changed up and my saved swatches were gone. I followed the directions of others who had gone through the same problem, but my swatches are nowhere to be found.I use these swatches for work so their really important and I really need to get them back. The reason I do have their code saved anywhere was because I had them saved in my Photoshop workspace. I didn’t have a reason to believe
The backslash key flips the default brush colors back and forth.Any attempts to paint black on a white mask yields no change. To my eyes, this looks like a normal brush to me: moments prior to the anomalous behavior, it was all working fine. Obviously, I stumble fingered some tool mode change key, but since it was a stumble I have no idea what it was. I find it interesting that I can change the default brush color from black to white and back again. I hadn’t known that was possible before. Not terribly useful ‘cuz “X” works fine, but interesting. Anyway, the tools state is “normal” and the image mode is “RGB” the flow and opacity are 100% and shift-lock is off. No clue as to what else to check for. Help? :)
Версия фотошопа 27.5. Creative cloude обновлен. Драйвера обновлены. Брандмауэр выключен. Ничего не помогает.
Since the last update, Camera Raw no longer finds people in mask mode—neither in RAW mode nor as a filter. I always get the error message: No people can be selected in this photo. And if anything is found, it is completely irrelevant, even objects that are not related to the persons or are beside them. See screenshots. Is this a known issue or just to me?But finding/selecting subjets or people with tools in menue bar is working properly.
Issue: Photoshop 27.4 (March 2026) "Exit Hang" specifically involving CoreSync.exe.System: Lenovo P1 Laptop, NVIDIA RTX 4060 Laptop GPU (v595.79 Studio), Windows 11.Technical Details: Upon closing Photoshop, CoreSync.exe maintains a persistent file handle/lock on the %temp% Photoshop Temp file (approx. 1.5GB). This prevents Photoshop.exe from terminating and triggers a "zombie" state for the Adobe Crash Processor.Observed Behavior: The system enters a "One Use per Reboot" state. Subsequent launches of Photoshop fail in silence, or "Already Running" or "Taking longer than usual" errors unless a manual taskkill is performed on CoreSync.exe and all related Adobe services. This occurs even after a clean GPU driver install and PS preference reset. Unclear without looking in logs when this started.
In Photoshop 2025, I didn't have this issue. In the new update, 90% of the times I click on the eye icon of a layer to hide/unhide it, my Navigator stops showing the entire image and only shows a chunk of the image that is the size of whatever layer I was hiding/unhiding. My GPU and everything else within my PC is updated. If it's just a me issue, I apologize for the inconvenience, but would naturally still like to know if there's a fix.
Generative fill hasn't been working in Photoshop for a month now. It keeps giving me the error "There was a problem and we couldn't complete your request. Please try again later." I can't see the number of credits in my account either. Can you tell me how to get it working again?
Windows 10/11 - Photoshop CS5 --Photoshop does not open automatically when jpg clicked. Open with photoshop.exe doesn’t work either. How to fix?
I need a quicker way to switch between brush and eraser brush during use.
Hello. Is it just my impression or are the images generated by both Adobe Firefly and Generative Fill in Photoshop really so pathetic and of poor quality that they cannot be used? In Photoshop you can't even change clothes using generative fill and if you can, it's far from what you wanted. The generated images are much worse than the initial Beta version of Photoshop.
Error is attached. I’ve received this in the past but usually Adobe fixes it in a few hours. I don’t see anything about this on https://status.adobe.com/
I’m working on an animated character in pixel art but when I try to move an object on the working layer it repeat the offset also into the next frame doing a messy animation.. I’ve already tried with the timeline panel options without success. There’s a fix for that?
After an update the gradient tool reverted to its new implementationI spent a few weeks trying to use it - I gave it a shot. This is why it doesnt work for me:I use it on masks. Thats pretty much it, but I use it a lot. I rarely use just one, by default I have it set to screen, I create a black mask and add gradients to it. I failed to find a graceful way to add more than one gradient to a mask with the new tool. If there is a way, it is not at all obvious or intuitive. The problem isn't just with this tool though, its with the overwhelming feeling of total pointlessness I feel in writing this, and the culture that creates in the community. How many people just give up trying to give feedback. There's only so many years you can try to point things out, report bugs that go unresolved (one for premiere is now 7 or 8 years old). Do you have people testing this stuff that have been using photoshop for 30 years? I'm pretty sure that I wouldnt be
I've looked through many postings about using the 3D option in photoshop to create a 3D mesh. Hoever, in Dec 2024, with the latest version of photoshop, this option no longer exists. So is it possible at all to do this now in PHotoshop? Or do I have to use some other app ? If so, which one? I don't have substance 3D and its way too expensive for simple tasks like this. Any solution is appreciated. Do i need to go back to an earlier version of photoshop? Can both versions reside on my desktop? I need this for a 360 spherical panorama to send to adobe aero. Thanks in advance!!!!!
// Reference the active documentvar doc = app.activeDocument;// Check if there are any paths in the documentif (doc.pathItems.length > 0) { // Access the last item using the length property (0-indexed) var lastPath = doc.pathItems[doc.pathItems.length-1]; // Make the path active/selected lastPath.select(); } else { alert("No paths found in the document.");}Photoshop version: 27.4Hi, I am making a script and I realize when trying to get the last Path when there is a Symmetry Path being the end, the Path it takes would always be the 1st path. You can make your own document with 2 normal paths and the final being a symmetry path, and test the script yourselves. If I am doing something wrong let me know and how to rectify it tq!
