Good morning! Every time I try to open a new file, the window that appears is empty, just grey, without any possibility to choose a format or something else
As mentioned here, Paste in place appears not to be working correctly in Photoshop 21.0.2 (nor in 21.0.1, or 21.0.0).Here is the issue: A path is created that comes off of the canvas Right click and select Make selection... so that the marching ants run off the canvas Using the shortcut (cmd+shift+v) or selecting Edit > Paste Special > Paste in place, the new copied element shifts up by around 30px and is not pasted in place. If the path doesn't run off the canvas Paste in place appears to work correctly.Photoshop 20.0.8 was the last version to work correctly, so I've rolled back.Best,Tom
Since the latest update (21.1) my paths are not behaving properly. No popup appears when right-clicking in the 'Paths' window (so I can't access 'make selection, 'fill path' etc.), and when moving a path within the window it creates visual ghosting overlay images of said paths, which stay visible even when navigating to other tabs with the menu.
Since opening my Photoshop 21.1 this morning, it crashes EVERY time I try to use it. When I launched the program, it ran through a screen "validating" photoshop, which I assume means there was another update. I've since uninstalled (twice, including preferences), restarted, and relaunched countless times. Nothing has fixed the issue. It seems to crash quickest with any files containing fonts. Basic JPG images hold on longer before the crash. It's a good thing I don't have a deadline due for fixing my files...
I use an action for solid colour fill. When I perform the action the colour box disappears. Im on an iMac 27" 5k
After updating to PS 2020 the "create new" window has been broken. I have both a MacBook Pro 2018 and a fully updated Windows stationery PC with Photoshop 2020 and I have this issue on both. I've tried to reinstall, turn my PC on and off, reset preferences, and nothing works. I know you can just use the legacy interface mode, but I would like to still see this issue be fixed. I really hope this will be fixed, because until it is I don't really see myself using PS that much, which is annoying...
Reproduce: Open the color panel window, choose Grayscale ramp and set it to Web safe (6 value split), the areas don't match their fields of sampling / are offset. It's most offset to the left, getting increasingly correct going right.Got gateway error when trying to upload gif, but here is a demonstration:https://i.postimg.cc/qv725nC8/PS-bars.gifIt gets most obvious sliding across them all, not knowing about it and just clicking to sample like most common use case will have the user run a ~50% risk of getting the wrong value.(This is in the latest PS CC Windows release, but it was the same in prior releases afaik)
I came across this problem after updates to Photoshop 21.0.3 and 21.1.In Preferences, Interface, Presentation, UI Font Size had been reset to default. I noticed this straight away after the last two updates, because when opening Photoshop after updating, the Font Size was Tiny and it hit my eyes straight away.Once I've reset the Font Size to my liking, there's no problem with the font size again when opening Photoshop. As mentioned, this only ever happened after the last two updates. The first time, well I thought it was a glitch but having it happen a second time, makes me wonder. I did mention it in passing after the last update here: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop-21-0-3-is-now-availableCurious really, as the update only affected the UI Font Size and no other preferences.I have the latest Windows OS and latest drivers.Cheers
Photoshop 20.0.5: Recording an action of filling a path or making a selection from a path, didn't seem to record the settings. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select the Rectangle Tool and set the option to paths in the tool options bar. 2. Draw out a rectangle. 3. Save the workpath in the paths panel by double clicking on the path thumbnail in the paths panel. 4. Make a new action and hit the record button. 5. Try using the Fill Path (from the flyout menu in the paths panel) with dialog and set to whatever option you want. (i used 50% Gray in my test) 6. Try using the Make Selection with dialog from the flyout menu in the paths panel. Neither action seems to record the parameters (settings).Playing back the action uses whatever the last settings were. I expected the settings to be recorded as photoshop 7 does (second action in the screenshot below)Photoshop CC 20.0.5 is the first action shown.
Thanks.Another VERY SERIOUS problem with both Actions and Scripts. The problem with SaveAs when a folder is specified as the destination to save.https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop/problem-with-the-save-as-function-when-used-in-an-action-si...Update 21.1 needs to either be revoked or urgently made a fix.Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Photoshop 21.1: Cloning doc to doc gives unexpected results.
We are having issues with our students using Photoshop 2018. When they launch Photoshop as non admins they receive the following error message on launch of the software and exporting the document."There is a problem with Generator. Please quit Photoshop and try again. If the problem persists remove any third-party plugins or try reinstalling Photoshop"I have an ongoing call logged with Adobe support earlier this month and they are still investigating this. I've also tried the latest June version today without any luck.If I install the archived Photoshop 2017 the students have no issues using the software and exporting their work. We've paid for the latest version so ideally want this working.I thought I would post on here to see if anyone else is having this issue or recommend a fix
Not only that the new 2017 "New Document"-Dialog has a poor GUI-performance (Windowsx64, 64GB ram, gtx1060, ssd) because of all the unnecessaray cloud-stuff it really slow downs my workflow because of this:It's not possible to confirm the dialog via "Enter". So STRG+N for a new document and then "Enter"-Key doesnt work any more.Could you please fix that? I went back to the old dialog since it works there - also its super fast and slick.
Used to be able to quickly delete swatches by this method. Now you have to right click + Delete or go into Preset Manager which both add several steps. Why in the world would this shortcut to swatch management been removed?
Hard to explain:Photoshop 20.0.1. Activate the clone stamp and the clone source panel. If you like to have a preview of the rotation of the stamp highlight the "0" in the text-area for rotation in the panel. Then bring your stamp to the area you want to work and change the rotation-value with the arrow keys. Then you will see the preview of the stamp is wrong. The right preview would be to rotate the center of the alt-click-area, but the preview in 2020 takes it from where your stamp is. So you have no preview of the actual rotation and it is not possible anymore to work with this "old" feature.
Photoshop 21.0. Zoom tool bug with new updateWhen you rotate the canvas the zoom tool acts awkward and not like it used to
Photoshop CC 2015.0.1 - With the rulers visible, normally the movement of the cursor on the canvas is followed by some thin dotted lines (one on the vertical ruler, other on the horizontal ruler) that move along the horizontal and vertical rulers providing you with some orientation of where you are in the canvas (even if no "real" guide has been placed. But for some time now, these thin dotted lines on the rulers appear offset from the real cursor position on the canvas. I've tried changing the units, disabling graphic procesor and doing other things, but they don't "snap" back to the real cursor position. When drawing out a guide, I can place it precisely, and the info palette also shows the correct values. It's just that this "reference" on the rulers is always offset (please note I'm not talking about the scale being offset (that would be fixed by double clicking on the rulers corner/origin). I'm attaching a picture, I hope you understand what I mean. As you'll see, the dotted lines
The shift key is being weird when drawing freehand. What still works is holding shift first and just drawing straight (using any brush/pencil). And using Shift to click, then click a straight line. But if you're freehand drawing and THEN hold down the Shift to make a straight horizontal or vertical line - things get wacky. It works once- but if you let up and then try it again, it jumps around to another location on the page and then draws a random straight line. Does this repeatably. It's like using an Etch-a-Sketch.This is NEW with the most recent update of Photoshop, and not welcome. Using MacOS 10.13.6
With the new release, the zooming mechanism has changed and it always behaves as if "Zoom Clicked Point to Center" was turned on when I am using keyboard shortcut (mapped to Wacom Pen). It works as expected when I'm zooming with scroll wheel.
On my PC, "My Documents" is mapped to a network drive. Whenever the network drive is disconnected, Photoshop throws an error when trying to bring up the "Save for web" dialog box. The error is: "The operation could not be completed. The system cannot find the path specified." When I click OK on this error message popup, the popup goes away and nothing else happens. The "Save for web" dialog is not accessible. This is especially a problem when I travel with my PC and need to use Photoshop on the road, since I cannot connect to my network drive for My Documents. I understand that the system cannot find the path specified, but it shouldn't bail on the "Save for web" dialog because of it. Use a different default path. I'm not sure why it's looking for that path anyway, since it happens even when my last saved file isn't in "My Documents".
Up until Photoshop 21.1, you could select a shape path with the Path Selection Tool, copy and paste that shape into the selected shape path. I updated to to 21.1 today and the behaviour has changed. I think this must be a bug, because now no matter what you do, pasting the shape creates a new layer, it no longer pastes into the selected shape. Here's a video demonstrating this issue, the first portion shows the behaviour as it has been up until now, the second portion shows the issue introduced in 21.1.
I've discovered a HUGE performance increase opportunity! All filters ignore artboards and use hidden "real document size" instead. This makes photoshop to technically redraw all the hidden pixels.Situation: you have 6-10 artboards with for ex. layout variations of some design (print, banner outdoor, UI, etc) each artboard has ~50-100 smart objects with some filters/raster masks/of filters. As a result, it becomes almost impossible to edit anything because PS has to redraw all the useless space hidden by artboard bounds and it takes ages! Here is a video demo (also attached to the post):https://service.crazypanda.ru/v/monosnap/2019-03-10-18-50-48-MoUt6.mp4 I think it's possible to change how artboards are rendered. Something will definitely break with that change but the win from that will be VERY big.As an alternative, I think there should be a switch in the settings: "Use old Artboards" which will make all the scripts and plugins backwards compatible. Plus you can
Photoshop 21.0 on Mac inexplicably changes the UTI (Universal Type Identifier) of PSBs, breaking Spotlight, existing Quick Look plugins, and perhaps other apps and services. Prior to PS 21.0, the UTI for Adobe Photoshop Large Document (PSB) was "com.adobe.photoshop-large-image", but in PS 21.0, it's "com.adobe.photoshop-image-large". Why the gratuitous change?SpotlightWith this change, Spotlight will no longer find files of type Adobe Photoshop Large Document (PSB) that were created by versions 20 and earlier. This will mystify users, who won't understand why Spotlight isn't finding their files. For example, Finder shows these four files with extension .psb, two created with 21 and two created with 20 or earlier:But it finds just two files with kind Adobe Photoshop Large Document (which were created with version 21):This is because Spotlight has saved the old UTI (com.photoshop-large-image) in its index for the two older .psb files: $ mdls -name kMDItemContentType *.psbkMDItemCon
Photoshop CC 2020, Slice Tool very lag when use it. anyone have same issue or know what problem?
I'm migrating to W10, and installed Photoshop 21.0.3. It seemed to run more or less the same as on my W7 partition. So I updated to 21.1.... 😕😕 Immediately I noticed issues.Firstly, Creative Cloud desktop has bloated out hideously, adding approximately double the processes and ram consumption. Lots of new features and functionality...but none I really need.Secondly, 21.1 takes about 2x the time to load, often displaying this odd bordered black image under the splash screen. (see attached)The next issue I noticed is that sliders (in the Levels, Hue & Saturation, Color Balance panels etc.) no longer live update and only apply the change in value after the mouse is released! I can't find any preference to return to previous slider behavior (including dynamic color sliders pref). This makes Photoshop basically unusable to me now...I'm far to ingrained in my workflow.Another issue (that may only be the way Windows 10 thing) is that Photoshop consumes 1 gig mo
https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop/problem-with-brush-strokes-appears-to-be-stamping-not-match...Photoshop 21.0.3 As described in this thread, ever since the most recent update, bristle tip brushes will produce uneven, broken strokes like this:I've completely reinstalled photoshop and reset all preferences, so the issue seems to be entirely unrelated to any possible brush or tool settings, and appears to occur with the legacy bristle tip brushes only (however I'm not 100% sure about this, it might just be harder to tell with erodible pencil tips or the airbrush). I've been very happy with these brushes in PS so far and can only hope for continued legacy feature support in this regard, as I intend to continue using them for a long time to come. Thanks in advance for the help!
