I am trying to import captivate 12.3. How can I do this? 

I have a CC subscription through my employer (not for Teams) and I'm trying to evaluate Captivate to replace Absorb for our dynamic learning course-creation authoring, since we don't need the LMS side right now. I've installed Captivate, but when I click to start the free trial, it opens a tab to the CC for Teams free trial page. I don't need that. I have CC already. I just want to try out Captivate before deciding whether or not to pay for it. I don't need to be taken to the download page for Captivate, either. I can't stand the way Adobe does business these days. The steps to start the free trial should be intuitively obvious, and maybe they are to some people, but I'm at a loss, and so is my IT department.I've also got a personal CC subscription, but that system is currently down, and I don't have permission from IT to use its login to test getting Captivate's free trial to work under a different account.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have an issue with animated gif files where they do not replay correctly when I return to the slide that contains them. They play fine the first time viewed, but not if you return to it. It seems the only way I'm able to keep the gif playing is if I set it to endlessly loop. And if I do that, the animation doesn't start from the beginning when I return to the slide. I just want the animation to start over and play from the beginning once every time I go back to the slide.My animations were made in Flash and exported as gif animations. I'm using Captivate 7 and my client needs the course to be all HTML5 (no Flash).Has anyone been able to get a animated gif (not set to loop) to play correctly (meaning from the beginning of it) if you return to the slide after viewing it already?Thanks,Dan

I am installing Adobe Captivate Classic on a new Windows 11 laptop. When I run the Set-up file and get to this screen:Microsoft Edge opens to the following screen (I had previously attempted same, with same result, and logged in 'successfully'):Then, since I know it's me trying to log in, I click Approve login, and get this:So, I return to this screen and wait for something to happen:Nothing happens. The install does not proceed. The product is not installed.Just for fun, I click sign in here (as above), but nothing happens.The installer is stuck. How can I resolve this issue? Note: I did update our company name and primary email address. This may be related.Please help, thank you. 🙂

Hey there!While syncing animations with narration, I notice some elements end too soon or overlap.Is there a quick way to match visuals with voice timing — maybe something better than dragging everything manually on the timeline?Feels tricky to get perfect sync every time.

Any idea why, after publish to SCORM 1.2, some slides are not showing text boxes, buttons or bookmarking in SAP Successfactors? Even in the flimstrip, or canvas, I'll see an empty slide, and only if I click throughout the canvas, then I can finally see the text boxes. This is happening to old projects from a previous version of Captivate that have been updated, as well as new projects made directly in the version I have. I'm using basic animations (fade in, occasionally a fly in) and basic, web friendly fonts (Calibri, Tahoma, and Times New Roman). These projects are also taking 40+ minutes to publish, but don't have more than text, audio, and continue buttons.

I have a project that contains 3 slides:  1st slide is the title, 2nd slide I added a Teams .mp4 file, and the 3rd slide is just a slide with "Complete" on it.  I am publishing this video to an LMS.  If the learner gets interrupted and closes the content in the middle of the video, I want them to pick up where they left off when they return to the content.  In the project, I do not have a TOC.  In Preferences under the Advanced LMS settings, I do not have "Never Send Resume Data" checked.  For some reason, the content always starts over at the beginning slide 1.   Thoughts?  Am I missing a setting?

Hello! I need help with what would be a fairly straightforward Advanced Action in the old Captivate, but expressions do NOT quite display the same in Captivate 12. I have been unable to find any information about expressions beyond, you can add an expression in Captivate 12 using Assign Variable. Indeed, the option to add an expression is THERE, but no longer has operators (+, -, /, *) in drop-down menus, just a blank line. I have tried everything I can think of for this simple calculation, including learning more about JavaScript, but it shouldn't be that hard!!   I want to add two variables to get a total on another variable: Total_Bounce = Q1 + Q2.  Here are some of the problems I have encountered:  Copy and pasted the expression:  Any help from users who have used expression in Captivate 12?  TIA  

In the Canvas LMS, my Captivate projects have stopped working.  We upload to the Files area of the course and then link to the index.html file.  However, all we get is a never-ending 'loading' icon.  The HTML files play correctly from my desktop.  These are not SCORM files, just basic presentations. Any thoughts on what might be blocking display of these files now?

The inconsistent behavior of captivate 12 has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have had with e-learning software.My current issue, the TTS VO is randomly being cut off for some users... but not all. The audio sounds fine on my end, but my QA person keeps having it cut off at random chunks of the start or end of the audio.Has anyone else encountered this and fixed it? I never use to have these issues in captivate classic.I updated to Captivate 12.6 yesterday.

So I thought that with this latest release of the "new" Captivate, there was suppossed to be functionality that allowed converting Captivate Classic courses into the new product. I'm not seeing it and still seeing the notice about them still being separate and unequal.

I'm just going to put out there that Captivate 12 really needs to give better user feedback. Currently when I go to share a review link, this is all I get: "Something went wrong!" - really? you don't say. But WHAT went wrong? and WHY?

Hi all, For my Courses I am using Simulation quite often. In the last one I had up to 12 Clickboxes for each Slide (on about 30 slides).Now I am facing the issue that roughly 1/3 of the them are triggering, another 1/3 is not immediately triggering and another 1/3 is not triggering at all.Deleting the ones not working and adding new is slowly working, but at least working. Is this a common issue or anyone knows a trick to filter out the 'bad ones' without the need to test above 300 clickboxes? I think the new Update wants also improve Simulations, is there anything known that it will tackle this issue? Thanks in advance,Claudio 

I am using wellsaid labs to generate my audio, so it is of high quality.   I have to audio that are identical except for one sentence in Slide 9 and 10.   When I import Slide 9's audio, there is an echo.    It sounds like I imported the audio twice with a slight delay the second time. I imported slide 10's audio which is working perfectly in slide 10 and deleted the last sentence in Captivate.  It still did the echo.    I deleted the slide and recreated it.  It worked perfectly in Captivate even when previewing.   When I published, the echo came back.  Any advice? I am on Captivate 11.5.5.676.

Is it possible for a user defined variable to send waive informaiton to LMS rather than Pass/Fail or Pass/Complete? Or is there a system defined variable i am missing that can be used to send a waive status to an LMS?  I use both Captivate and Lectora and have struggled to find a way to make this work for either, though of course, Google AI says it is possible! Anyone have experiance with this? 

I've posted this on the Canvas discussion board too, but I thought I might be able to get some ideas here too.I have some narrated lectures that were created in Abode Captivate. They have clickable tables of contents, but no interactivity beyond that, so no reporting options were used when they were created. I published them all as HTML5, then uploaded the .zip files to Canvas, had Canvas expand them, and then linked to the index.html files on a content page. On my computer they work fine, but if I try to use the Canvas mobile app on iOS, they don't load. I emailed Canvas support about this and they said the app doesn't support SCORM. But since there weren't any reporting options selected, they shouldn't use SCORM, right?I don't know a ton about Captivate, so I'm hoping someone here knows better than I do.I've tried hosting them on an external server and linking directly to them, which works perfectly but isn't really feasible for the implementation.

I have created a custom video content block in Captivate but now I have a new problem. I want to add a button to the second column of the block, but it seems that Captivate does not recognize the button component in a video block. I could add a button to the slide, but to do that would require adding an additional row under everything, which would defeat the purpose of the layout (see below).     Also, you cannot load a video component to an image block. I've tried that too.

Hi folks,I’m facing a weird issue in Captivate 2025 — after publishing, there’s a short black screen before the first slide appears.It doesn’t show up during preview though.Has anyone run into this? Wondering if it’s a preloader or media setting thing.

I recently upgraded from Captivate for MacOS (v. 14.5) 11.8.2 to 1..8.3 and published an updated project for my LMS.  When I turned on closed captions I realized the text color had changed from white on black to a really dark gray on black.  I opened the file and went to edit the CC settings to change the text color back to white but the swatch was already white.  You can see this in the attached files. I tried changing the text color to yellow and sample text remained dark gray. In fact it didn't matter wehat color I chose - the sample text stayed gray.  I tried closing the project and clearing the captivate projects cache. rebooting my computer. Nothing made a difference. All of my captivate classic project had the same issue - all had the dark gray text. I rolled back Captivate to version 11.8.2 and the issue was gone.  I tried upgrading again to 11.8.3 with all other applications closed and only the Captivate updater running and ran into the same issue

Hey Captivate Community!  I have a project that I am translating from English to Spanish. I exported the course content and had it translated. Now when I go to import the content back into the project, I get a spinning loading wheel for about 10 seconds before disappearing. The project still shows all original content with none of the new content being imported. Is anyone else having issues with using the import content function?

Everything looks perfectly aligned in edit and preview mode, but once I publish, some text boxes and images slightly shift or misalign on different screens.Has anyone else faced this issue in Captivate 2025? Any idea what’s causing these layout shifts and how to fix them?

Photoshop or Affinity Photo?

I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered a bug in Captivate 12where the incorrect text caption randomly has its text disappear after a few seconds? It should say "That's not right. Try again." But within 2 seconds of being on screen, it disappears. And I see nothing on the timeline or animation areas that would explain why it is disappearing. It also should be jumping to the next slide, but that does not seem to be happening either. And yes I'm using the latest version of Captivate 12.
