Character Animator

Yesterday, all the elements on my puppet worked. Today, one element, the left eyeball, only shows up with low opacity.I did the following troubleshooting: I made the eyeball a different color. Same thing happened. I moved the layer outside of the left eye section, and the opacity was normal. In photoshop, this layer is “normal.” Left and right eye are set up identically and the right eye is OK. I deleted the offending layer in photoshop, created a new one, and the same thing happened. I also tried not using a folder for that eyeball art, and just tagged the art as the eyeball. Same thing.I also rebooted my computer.Does anyone have any insight about this problem?  

I can’t figure out how to get the torso of my puppet to move when I sway back and forth in the body tracking camera in record mode. The head moves but the body stays still. Please help! I’ve attached an image of my rig settings and how it looks in record mode. 

Hi,I have my character working and everything is set but I want to live stream now. (I'm on Mac OS btw)I have OBS but it turns out there's more to it.I've recently seen Okay Samurai's video on live streaming but it's from 5 years ago and the NewTek NDI Software and plugins are completely different all I could download was NDI Tools pkg.Now I have NDI Output but seems like I need a github download too called palakis/obs-ndi. However I can't find this.Is there any other easier solution? It's been 5 years can't I just straight stream my character from Character Animator to OBS?

Help! I am working on a project and I am unabe to import any new artwork! I keep receiving this error popup when importing an illustrator file.

I tried my puppet to a new laptop for Character Animator. While all the layer settings, including the different layers for head turning, are correctly labeled in Photoshop, (see first picture) when I import to CA, it’s a complete mess in the Scene. (See second picture). I assume the solution is to re-rig everything but I’m not sure how to do it. I fixed the arms so far to be draggable and bend correctly. However I’m not sure how to fix the mouth and head movements. Can someone please walk me through how to get everything back to look like the third picture I’ve attached? 

It’s my first time using adobe apps, and I don’t know much about them, I’m was trying to turn a drawing in to a puppet ( which I keep failing ) now I can’t even start the app, when I just try to run it it brings out this screen, can’t click anywhere else after clicking ok it keeps popping up and than shuts the app I don’t know what to do 

I have a character holding an ice cream cone and I have recorded a replay of him licking the ice cream cone. When I right-click the replay, choose Edit Replay, and play it back, it plays back as intended.When I trigger the replay or insert in into the timeline during a recording, one of the frames does not display accurately and shows the ice cream cone upside down. It is very obvious and distracting.I’ve attached a quick recording of the Edit Replay view and a screenshot of the incorrect frame.Any ideas how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.  

I just wanna know when Character Animator will have support for more languages when computing lip sync. Adobe Express supports my language (Tagalog). How come Adobe hasn’t had an update in over a year? For the longest time I was hoping for at least the lip sync computation to be better.

As the title says, every time I try to move the origin for the eyes, I cannot, and then when I go back to look at it in rig mode, it looks wonky. I have the file here, can someone please help? What am I doing wrong?Linky Link via Onedrive

Hi everyone, so I’ve spent a whole two days trying to make this puppet’s pupils work, and let me tell you, I’ve tried practically every suggestions on the internet. Hi, im having trouble fixing my camera for character animator, when ever im trying to use character animator the voice recording works but my came doesn't show, my camera is on but it doesn't show me on the screen it only says "waiting for camera". I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and checking if it was up to date, and Im wanted to know if theirs way to fix this problem with the camrea for a pc/ windows.  

Hi all,Just getting started and psyched!I'm building the character below in Illustrator and planning out the mouth shape layers.  As the subject says, what do you think would be the best way to have a character's goatee move with the mouth?  Should I incorporate it into each mouth shape or just stretch with the jaw in HeadBKG? While I'm here, I may as well ask how I can have the head move independently on the neck.  The Chloe puppet seems to have a rigid head and torso.  What does that stick behind her do, btw? Thanks! 

Hi! I'm having a real-time face tracking issue with my camera (Logitech). It's only recognizing the three main mouth shapes (visemes), and none of the others. I know the mouth shapes are correctly tagged because I copied them directly from the Chad puppet in Character Animator. What can I do?

This is driving me bonkers! I'm glad that I'm learning so much, but it's costing me so much time, energy and frustration. This is the fourth time I've created this puppet.  I've stopped doing it from scratch and now just edit comprable templates, since I know the templates work perfectly.  (This iteration was an adaptation of the woman pirate standing on a ship.) So I moved in my assets overtop of the template assets, deleted what wasn't needed, adjusted rigging handles as needed, and voila!  It works!  It was great.  I went into my scene, dragged those arms around to record a bunch of triggers and swap sets.  Everything is groovy.  Then, silly me, I need to adjust the canvas size so I can adjust something in the +Head group.  I come back, and the arms are totally broken.  They've shifted on the puppet in record mode (but not in rig mode) and they're hinging wrong now.  I guess I rigged something wrong.  I get i

Had to do a crash course in CA to get a live character to show up in Teams. Got everything wired up and, using NDI, can feed my scene to Teams and control the puppet. Bosses loved it. All good. Now, though, I need a remote person to drive the puppet.I've done a fair bit of reading and experimenting but haven't gotten it to work. My reading makes it seem possible. I need "Bob" to call in on Teams, then feed his video and audio to Character Animator to control the puppet, then feed that back to Teams to talk to other people on the call as the puppet. Do I have to have him call in on Zoom vs. trying to round-trip? Although then he wouldn't be able to hear them, I'd guess. I had my IT department download NDI and OBS (which was a minor miracle) so I'm hoping that's all that's needed.Anyone have any advice on making this work? I know next-to-nothing about NDI, even less about OBS, so it's possible I'm just overlooking something obvious.

So a bit new to this program.I'm wondering, is there a way to make an animation I made in Character animator into a loop able gif within Character Animator, or would I need to take the clip to a different program to do this?I have a friend with a streaming channel who'd like me to make a looping gif of their mascot on screen during their streams and I'm wondering if I can use Character Animator to do this.Thanks@

Are there any options for windows yet? I've been using OBS and the chrome key filter but it doesn't look great (green outline, and I have some green in my character)

Hi, I am currently using version Character Animator 25.0 and I uses the "Compute Head Movement From Speech" features a lot since 2-3 years ago, I've noticed that since some version updated around last year, the comput head movement from speech feature would stop working for longer videos. In some scenes it works until around 6:30, in some scenes it works until around 2:00, its quite random, maybe it depends on the speech track? So any solution to this? or is that a real bug that needs look into, thanks!

Hi,I have been reading numerous threads for hours now but can't find a proper fix so I would really appreciate it if someone could chime in. My problem is that Character Animator doesn't recognise my webcam directly or through OBS virtual cam but it picks it up using ManyCam for some reason (would prefer not to rely on additional third-party software that just adds bloat to my system though).I'm using a mirrorless camera connected via HDMI to an internal capture card which works fine for all other programs except Adobe. Running Windows 10 without any anti-virus that could be causing a conflict and checked that the system settings weren't blocking any permissions either.Tried using different wires, input ports, and reinstalling CA, the camera drivers, and OBS, but nothing seems to resolve it. I would be very grateful for any help.

When is there going to be an update?  You all havent updated or posted anything since 2024 and those were just some bug fixes.  There been alot of people that have invested a great amount of time and money into this software.  Please let us know if this software will be discontinued or will we have a major update.
