Thanks to everyone who submitted an image to our previous ‘Move Closer’ challenge. This week we start with a straight razor, a popular shaving tool until the safety razor came out although some still use the straight razor today. What will you make from this object? Will you incorporate it in a scene or make something completely new from it? Please add a few words with your image describing how you went about it, it may help others and it is always good to see alternative approaches. The “rules”:Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry. Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc. Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”. The challenge is not limited to Photoshop. Any Adobe software can be used. There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in
Turn creative ideas into editable image transformations using AI. With Prompt to edit, you can describe changes using natural language and generate image-wide edits in seconds. Use Markup and Marks to guide the AI toward specific areas of an image, add instructions, or indicate where new elements should appear. How This Workflow Works Start by generating an image edit using a text prompt. If needed, use markup tools to indicate specific areas and describe the changes you want. Step-by-Step Guide 1. Open an image Select File > Open and choose the image you want to edit. 2. Generate an edit with Prompt to edit Select a pixel layer or generative layer containing the image. If you're working with a generative layer, make sure the entire image is selected. Select Prompt to edit from the Contextual Task Bar, or choose Edit > Prompt to Edit. Enter a prompt describing the changes you'd like to make across the image. Sample prompts: Change the lighting to a warm sunset tone. Improve

You can now fine-tune image lighting non-destructively with the new Light adjustment layer, making it easier to adjust exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, and more without permanently changing your original image. This release also brings the AI Assisted editor (Beta) directly into Photoshop, giving you access to Firefly-powered creative tools from within your editing workflow. New AI capabilities include Prompt to Edit, which lets you make image changes using natural language, and Markup, which enables you to guide AI generation and editing with visual annotations. For more precise AI-powered editing, you can now use masks and selections to control exactly where generative edits are applied. Text workflows are also improved with Dynamic Text for shapes and paths, allowing text to reflow and resize as you adjust shapes and paths automatically. Addition
You asked, we listened, and we're excited to share that one of the community's long-standing feature request is now available in Photoshop 27.10. For years, many of you have asked for more control over the file formats shown in the Save As and Save a Copy dialogs, including the ability to hide formats you don't use and create a cleaner, more streamlined saving experience. Today, we're happy to say: it's here! What's new? You can now customize the file formats displayed in the Save As and Save a Copy dialogs. Simply go to: Edit > Customize Save Dialog File Formats From there, you can: Enable or disable file formats Move formats you don't need to the Disabled File Formats column Restore the default list at any time Whether you're a photographer who primarily exports JPEGs and TIFFs, or a designer working mostly with PSDs and PNGs, you can now tailor the save experience to match your workflow. Why you'll love it No more scrolling through long lists of formats you never use. Thi

I’ve already installed Photoshop 2026 and reinstalled it. I click “open” and nothing happens. Then I'm only given the option to use it in my browser. Program was working fin before the update. I have a Mac with a Radeon Pro 575 4GB graphic processor.4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 processor32 GB of memoryand 2 TB of storage with 1.5 still available.Running the latest macOS Ventura Version 13.7.8 I use this program everyday for my business, help is appreciated!
The preview function in the Image Size dialog is seemingly incapable of dealing with complex large resolution files. For example, I am working a 10,000x6,000pixel image, with about 100 layers, there is a mix of Smart Objects (with and without filters applied, both linked and embedded), pixel layers, and adjustment layers. If I attempt to resize the document, by any amount, the Preparing to Build Preview comes up, then I instantly get a spinning beach ball, no chance to even cancel the preview. Out of curiosity, I have let it run for up to an hour, never finishes. Only solution is to force quit the app. This has happened across multiple versions of Photoshop on multiple computers going back years. If there is no fix, please let me disable the preview, in 30 years of using this app, I have never once needed a preview of how my image is going to re-size.System info and a screen shot of the image size dialog doing nothing attached. -Sam
When saving a brush preset, we are able to save the color, which is great. I do a lot of masking work where I need to bounce back and forth between white and black. Which means when I save a brush, I need both the foreground color and the background color to be saved specifically like that. But when you grab a custom brush, it only remembers the foreground color that you had saved. So let's say, for instance, that you have your foreground and background color both set to red. And then you would like to use one of your custom brushes, so you select it. The foreground color will now switch to your saved color, but the background color will continue to be red. We should have an option when saving brushes to remember both foreground and background color. This is more efficient and eliminates extra steps when we need something specific.
After creating a brush preset, if you'd like to make a change to that brush preset, there's no way to update the brush or save the changes. After making a change to a brush preset, you have to save it as a new preset (with a new name) and then delete the old one. I'd like to be able to save it into the current instead of having to create an entirely different brush. “Update Preset” or “Update Brush” would be great. The reason for this is I do a lot of work that uses actions and the brushes are built into those actions. So I'd like my new brush to have the original brush name, which is currently impossible without going through the process of deleting the old brush and renaming the new brush to the exact same name as the old brush so that it works in the action.
As a passionate illustrator and publishing designer, I have always relied on Adobe software to bring my creative visions to life. Recently, however, the introduction of generative AI features has sparked some concerns for me. Like many artists, I believe that true creativity comes from the human spirit, and I worry that AI might overshadow our authentic artistry. My publisher clients appreciate this genuine approach, often including in contracts that generative AI cannot be used in their projects. It's important to recognize that not all creatives want AI in their tools; the choice should be in the hands of each user. I encourage Adobe to consider offering an option to completely switch-off generative AI features, respecting the diverse needs of their community and supporting the artistic freedoms that define us.#adobeai #adobe #adobeillustrator#graphicdesign #aiart #photoshop #ai #digitalart
Thank you for all your hard work on the development every day. When I use Lasso tool, I often look the alert "No pixels are more than 50% selected". Compared to horizontal movements, I often find that I cannot move my arm as intended in the vertical direction, which inevitably leads to this warning appearing. It is clear from both my arm movements and the results that I have made the wrong selection, so personally, I find this warning to be an intrusive and annoying nuisance that merely interrupts my work and disrupts my rhythm.I would like to see an option to disable this warning.
The Adobe Firefly connector in Codex is repeatedly failing with:HTTP 403 Forbidden — “MCP streamable transport probe failed”Endpoint: https://photoshop-mcp-service.adobe.io/v3-creativity-b8f2a/mcpThe connector worked briefly and successfully generated images, but then began returning this error again. It occurs before Firefly receives the prompt, even when generating one image at a time. Disconnecting, reconnecting and restarting the app have not resolved it. Please investigate the connector’s authentication/transport authorization.

When done editing a jpg. It says “save as type” and defaults to a photoshop extension every time. other versions never did this. Very time consuming when you have 400 plus photos to do. Any help here?
When will you fix the Remove tool? The Cloud and the Device! Use AI to fix the program's bugs, not to add new features. The noise reduction feature is terrible, and there's this bug too. This is a huge step backward.

Whenever I click within Photoshop, open or close a dialog box, Alt-Tab, or use Windows or other programs while Photoshop is running, the screen flashes white; sometimes, the entire screen turns a dark reddish, and the system crashes or shuts down.PC: GeForce RTX 3060I thought my monitor was faulty and replaced it, but the issue persists severely whenever I launch Photoshop. Please release a bug fix quickly. This has been a serious problem for weeks now, and I am unable to use Photoshop. It is extremely inconvenient; I cannot perform any other tasks while Photoshop is running. Please roll out a hotfix as soon as possible.
It fails on Wi-Fi networks at my office and cafés. I use a MacBook Pro 2020. I already tried changing DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1, but it still does not work. The feature immediately works again when I switch to Tri hotspot. Please investigate possible network/routing issues with Adobe's Generative AI services.
An error occurs when using "Load Files into Stack..." in Photoshop. The issue persists even after resetting Photoshop preferences and reinstalling the application. Are there any solutions?Photoshop27.10(Japanese)、Win11
I'm running Ventura 13.7.8 (yes, I know, its nearly as old as me!)
Most of the file type options are missing from my save menu. I cannot save JPGs unless I choose the 'Save as a Copy command. If I choose 'Save', or 'Save As...' I only see options to save as PSD, PSB, IFF, JPF, PNG, TIFF. I've noticed that for some files, I only have PSD, PSB, and TIFF. I have my project set to 8-bit, RGB Color.I use photoshop regularly and this problem just started yesterday. The problem persists with all new projects I create.
I'm trying to open a .png file in Photoshop Elements 15 and I get the message: could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file. What does this mean and how do I fix it?
Hi,I just updated to 27.10.0 and Photoshop has become barely usable.(I use a recent and powerful PC)Some operations that took a fraction of a second this morning now take more than 10 seconds with the new version.I known you are trying to add a lot of AI features...but do not forget that there many legitimate reasons why some people may want or need to work on their images while offline. The only way to get decent response times with the application now it to stay connected to the Internet. Please fix this issue ASAPThanksOlivier
