InDesign

HELP!  I am unable to print my InDesign document.  The error message states 'This document contains links to files/URL(s) that are not accessible. Please check your network connectivity or the original source of content.'  When looking at the links page, there are no errors issued.  Preflight shows no errors.   I've gone to System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy/Files and Folders, and verified that 'Document Folder' is checked under Adobe InDesign. Any other suggestions?  Thank you!TR 

Tearing my hair out with this one - trying to export hi res print pdf but keeps failing. Thought maybe it was a dodgy link so created new blank doc and getting the same error. tried exporting as png and jpg which doesn’t work either. Any ideas? 

I’ve been wrestling with Adobe Fonts for several days now, and none of the workarounds have fixed anything. Creative Cloud shows that Adobe Fonts are synced and installed, but none of those typefaces show up in InDesign or Photoshop. All apps are up to date (including CC), I’ve tried disabling fonts, logging out, and enabling them again, restarted my computer multiple times (2019 iMac running Sequoia 15.7.3), clearing the font cache in Terminal, validating fonts in FontBook—basically anything that I’ve seen suggested, I’ve tried, and nothing has worked. Typefaces outside of Adobe Fonts are all working perfectly fine.I currently can’t work on any existing InDesign documents because it has “adding fonts” as a never-ending background task. I’m once again (thanks adobe!) paying for software that’s locked itself.Is there some other magical workaround I’ve overlooked? Ideally something that you don’t have to do every time you launch a program. 

I am working on a project in Indesign and flipping back and forth between it and Lightroom. Everything was fine at first, all images looked good in Indesign, then something happened and now all of the images are overly saturated in Indesign. I don't remember changing any settings, but may have hit a hot key that changed it? Any help is appreciated! (First image is the Indesign photo, second is Lightroom)

We (a team of 11 people) are using INDD 2026 desktop version and are working directly from a wind 2025 server. What we are looking for: which kind of database  works quite well with INDD and would be best for storing some 10,000 or more INDD files. The final goal is to start working locally and using the server for what it’s build for, storing things.

Hi everyone, I’ve been working on a 200-page report, meticulously checking all text threads to ensure the reading order is correct. However, after exporting to an interactive PDF, about 55% of the document still has issues with the reading order in Acrobat, even though it passes the Acrobat check. My goal is to make the PDF as accessible as possible. All other accessibility issues were resolved after the latest export, but the reading order still seems off during visual inspection. Currently, I’m exporting via File > Export > Interactive PDF, which seems to be the standard advice I found online. Am I missing something? Is there a better way to export for accessibility? Any advice would be greatly appreciated—reordering elements in Acrobat manually is taking forever! Thanks!

I've just started noticing random hyphens appearing in text I'm pasting from Word into InDesign. I'm pasting into a series of InDesign docs in a journal that get updated every year, and I've never had this happen before. I just pasted in a 900-word story, for example, and there are 12 hyphens inserted into seemingly random words with no pattern I can detect.Hyphenation is turned off in both Word and the InDesign paragraph style, so there should be no hyphens. They’re definitely not discretionary hyphens. I have Invisibles turned on in both Word and InDesign and everything looks completely regular. The words are all followed by a space (blue dot) and there are no special characters. The screenshot I've attached shows the text in InDesign with the source text in Word below.Anyone else seen this?

What are the things to take note when using word document that contain both text, tables and pictures into indesign report? what kind of formatting must be done in work because indesign cannot handle it?Take two examples that I was told by someone else :placement of tables in word document.  The plan is just place the table near the text and let indesign reposition it for best visual.  For e.g. we might need 4 columns of text and let the table stretch across two columns before the text using indesign.  But we were told that indesign cannot keep the table as “whole”, the table will get broken into pieces when attempting to place it in different place. Font type, font size and font colors.  We might need different font type, font size and font colors for best visual.  The plan is to keep simple formatting for font in the text in the word document and later let indesign handle the change for best visual.  We were told this will not happen because font formatting changes need to happen in

Indesign 20.5 Marguee Zoom has stopped functioning the way it used to and now sometimes functions like Step Zoom. I sometimes want to zoom in as far as I can on a specific spot. I use the Marguee Zoom for that. However, if I draw a box that would zoom it greater than the max zoom of 4000%, it functions as a Step Zoom. It sometimes takes 10 Marguee Zooms to zoom in. This is a change from previous versions.Is there a fix in the works?

Just received the above error message.I understand I have to wait, but in “sometime”?! Please can someone at Adobe change this to “some time later” or “in a few minutes”. Anything other than the above grammatical abomination!

First of all: All apps and Windows 11 are updated. I checked RAM, Graphic Card and much more.My problem: When I start working with InDesign it can work smoothly but suddenly InDesign doesn’t react anymore. I can’t close it. When I try to end the task with the Taskmanager it won’t close either. After maybe 5 - 10 seconds I get a “Blackscreen” and Windows shut down the PC and makes a restart.I don’t use InDesign Plugins. I’ve already tried to uncheck the GPU-Box. I uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign already.Has somebody the same problem or even better - the solution?PS: I never ever get a Blackscreen when I don’t use InDesign.Kind Regards, Oliver

I paid my suscripción but I can not use In Design because I have MacBook Pro Late 2013, with MacOs Big Sur 11.07.11. 

Hello! Hoping someone can shed some light on this for us. We have a series of JSX scripts we use in InDesign that were working in MacBook Pro Intel but not in MacBook Pro M4. Same verison of InDesign too. When we run the scripts in Intel they execute but when we run the same scripts in M4, they do nothing. Are we missing something here? We also tried the Open In Rosetta option which did not work. Please advise.

When I select "Setup" in the InDesign print dialogue, it takes me to another dialogue which is apparantly a Windows 11 setup, which resets everything to defaults, including the system default printer (which I am not using for this job.) Then I have to select "More Settings" and make adjustments there from the traditional printer settings dialogue. My other Adobe products don't go through this. And searching online for a fix did not come up with a simple solution. Is there a way to bypass this stupid step? If not, can Adobe fix this?Version 20.5 x64Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26100 

Hey, y'all. This may be a couple of different problems, so please bear with me. I'm working on a MacBook Pro with an M1 chip and Ventura. I'm trying to print booklet at 6x12, which I have done plenty of times before, but not with my current OS. I have the printer set to PostScript file and when I choose Device Indepentent as the PPD, all of the page adjustment options are grayed out. When I set the PPD to any other printer, I can adjust the page size/layout to what I need, but the PostScript files and resulting PDFs have been coming out at 8.5x11 instead of 6x12. I think I used to have the option to set the PPD as Adobe Acrobat, but I believe I read (in trying to trouble shoot this issue) that Mac has removed support for the Adobe PPD. If this is true, has anyone found a work around for this? Or some other PPD that allows for PostScript files to generate PDFs that actually stay the dimensions you set the page to?

Is it possible to export HTML content from InDesign for use on a coding website? I'm looking for the best methods to ensure the design translates well to web format, especially for responsive layouts.

We previously had been working on a rather old VM host purchased in 2017, with virtual work stations running Windows 10 accessing virtual file servers on that same VM host. Recently got a new VM host with Windows 11 work stations and felt like I was waiting for InDesign longer than I should have been when opening and saving files, so I did some testing. On the new host, file transfer time from the work station to the new file sever on the same host is a smidge faster than on the old one. Except for InDesign! In InDesign, opening a set of 20 files on the new server is taking on average 7 seconds longer than on the old server with Windows 10!!! 😮 The Windows 11 work stations have an Enterprise edition of Windows that is very “clean” with none of the usual bloatware and do not yet have any kind of antivirus on them yet. Has anyone seen problems like this with InDesign switching to Windows 11? ThanksKen

I occasionally have to enter Hebrew into the documents I create. I set it as World-Ready Paragraph Composer so that it reads RTL (just the Hebrew). I'm currently working on a doc that has NO Hebrew and only English LTR copy BUT when I try to set tabs, the ruler is RTL! I have already uninstalled InDesign once and redownloaded it. HELP!  

When we create a Numbered list a lot a features are missing:– besides of tab (or Em, En, etc) we need an Indent to here character tooso i want this:1. List item     second row10. List item       second row– If I set a Character Style with underline, and set this for the Numbers (or bullets), it does not show upwhy?

Hi There So my layout contains several titels, which all have the same character style and paragraph style, on one page. Now i want all these titels as running headers on the top of each page. Indesign variable now limits me to only chose the first or last "running header". But in my case i have like 4 headers per page. Do any of you know how to solve this or know any scripts for this problem? I am searching the web now for quite some time. greatings 

Hey there.  Newbie here.  I haven't been in Indesign for 6 months.  I am creating a bulleted list using a pragraph style.  I used to hit (I think) Ctrl \ to get the second line of a bullet to line up with the text on the first line.  When I am doing it now, it indents the second line but way too far to the right.

Good morning,   I’m having an issue with Adobe InDesign 2026 v21.0.In my project, I have two linked InDesign files – one created in the newest version of the program, and the other in an older version 2025 v20.5. When exporting to PDF, I noticed that the file originating from the older version of InDesign is exported as an RGB bitmap with a resolution of 72 PPI, while the newer one exports correctly and retains vector data. In InDesign’s preview, everything looks fine – the issue appears only after exporting to PDF.<Title renamed by MOD>

The process to make a color gradient is so ridiculous in inDesign that it is not even funny. I don't think I am stupid, but nothing seems to be intuitive and it does not work.

I have a moving presentation with a lot of gifs. I need to export this file and put it on my website. What is the best way to export from indesign into a gif or mp4?
