Bonjour!Sous windows 10 au lancement de indesign 2025 j'ai le message d'erreur suivant : l'application n'as pas réussi à démarrer correctement (0xc0000142). Cliquer sur ok pour fermer l'application. J'ai essayé de réparer d'éventuelle erreur fichier, j'ai aussi tout désinstallé et tout réinstaller en suppriment les anciennes versions ainsi que les préférences, mais rien n'y fait !  Avez-vous une idée du problème ? Sachant que sous la version 2024, cela fonctionne parfaitement

Das heißt, die letzte Zeile eines Absatzes (oder 2, je nach Umbruchoptionen) klebt an den beiden ersten Zeilen des nächsten Absatzes (oder nur 1).Umbruchoptionen habe ich alle durch, ich kann damit lediglich wählen, wie viele Zeilen aneinanderhängen. Es ergeben sich unschöne leere Flächen am Spaltenende, für die noch Text vorhanden wäre.Verkettungen gibt es nicht, harter Zeilenumbruch ist selbstverständlich gewählt.Bei "klebenden" Überschriften hilft es, diese mit hartem Zeilenumbruch in eine neue Zeile zu schieben und die darüber zu löschen. I am preparing a document in Adobe InDesign that needs to be sent to a print shop as printer spreads (for example: 40–1, 2–39, 38–3, etc.). For this, I use the Print Booklet feature.In the preview, the imposition looks correct, but I want to make sure the final file will be received properly by the printer.Previously, my workflow was to generate a .PS file from Print Booklet and then process it through Adobe Distiller to create the final PDF. However, I haven’t done this in several years and I’m now running into issues: When I open the generated PDF, the pages appear as single pages instead of printer spreads. The PPD option for PostScript export, which previously allowed proper output settings, does not seem to be working in the current version of InDesign

Hello! I have simple code, that executes some scripts for Indesign, which work when i run them manually from app Script pannel.  But somehow they work for scripts  character styles and do not work when i call scripts with changeGrep(). What could be the problem?  Or may be there is a better way to do this? Malgré les mises à jour et réinstallations via Creative Cloud, la dernière version d’Indesign (21.2) n’arrive jamais à s’ouvrir. A la place un message d’erreur “L'application n'a pas réussi à démarrer correctement (0xc0000142). Cliquez sur OK pour fermer l’application.”En attendant je travaille avec l’ancienne version 20.5.1 qui fonctionne, mais il arrive que celle-ci plante occasionnellement, “Indesign doit fermer” sans raison.Y’a t-il d’autres utilisateurs dans la même situation ?

Hi Team InDesign Version 20.5OS: Windows Issue: While converting to IDML file, Effects Innerglow size get changed if the size value of inner glow is more than 12p6 while converting to IDML size value change to 0p7.  I attached InDesign file and PDF which has different Innerglow size value from 1p6 to 15p. In IDML file upto 11p6 innerglow size value not changed. after 11p6 value change to 0p7 ThanksGanesh.R  

I canceled my adobe subscription half a year ago, now i have re-subscribed, but this time it suited me better to create a new account with a new email. But what i didn’t think about is that i still really want my old preferences from illustrator, indesign and photoshop, like workspace setup and all the small setting i have changed in the program over the years. I know there are ways export these settings when using the programs, but i cant open them with my old account anymore to create the export files. I still have access to the old adobe account, and i can see my old cloud files like brush libraries, but these i already have backed up elsewhere. I know these preferences are saved in the cloud in some way, just wonder if its possible to get to them somehow.My question is therefore if it is possible to export these program specific user preferences from one adobe account to another?Thanks for any kind of help, this is really a niché problem created by my own stupidity, and i realise i

I feel like the live cloud connection in InDesign is making the program slow as molasses and I don’t use it.I don’t and won’t ever use Adobe cloud, so how do I terminate that live connection?When I click the “Connected” notice on my “Home” page when the program’s open (no files open) it doesn’t give any option to disconnect. It does show that I don’t have any files in the cloud and have used 0% storage. How do I close the connection???

The problem is that some pages in the layout suddenly lost their appearance, and a part of the content (screen 1).Originally, the pages had Parent elements and some text content, visible on the layout and in the Pages panel (like the pages at the bottom). But then some pages (not all!) lost their white paper color, and text frames became empty. Their appearance in the Pages panel also becomes empty. When exported to PDF, these pages have no Parent elements nor text, and are totally white. BUT! If you copy the text frames and paste them into a new doc with the same Parents, the content restores.It is certainly not something in Preferences or in a View menu because it affects just part of the file.The question: What might it be? Is there a way to fix it without creating a new doc and copying/pasting the content?Windows 11, InDesign 21.2screen 1: normal pages and damaged onesscreen 2. InDesign version 17.3.0.61 on Mac. Shift key stops working when trying to scale proportionally. Tried almost all of the suggestions as far back as 2017 and nothing is working. I don't have Web Root. Not using Spotify. I've tried shift/command, Shift/option/command. I've tried a slow click. Tried deleting or turning off extensions that I thought were causing it. I stopped using Chrome. Sometimes it happens with Microsoft Word open and sometimes it doesn't.I have to restart to get it cleared. Which would indicate there is still something running in the background that is the conflict-I just can't seem to find it.Any chance someone has recently found something new to try for 2022. 

In latest release (21.0), Math Expression panel allow choosing styles (regular, italic, etc) for portions of expressions. But the default behavior is to use regular for the entire expressions. This is wrong way of styling math elements and you don’t want to impose user to be styling them correctly manually from the start.Default styling in 2025 was correct! (see image).This goes againt all convention and need to be fix.In mathematical notation, italics are used primarily for variables and symbols representing quantities. The typographical convention has been standardized across scientific disciplines to ensure clarity and consistency.

I find with recent releases and particularly 21.x, that the light blue bounding box, especially when dashed, and especially when the document grid (light gray) is showing, and especially on my very high-res monitor, I have difficulty seeing precisely which frame is selected. A darker blue, or a thicker line, would fix this. I have searched the Preference but found no way to do either. Any help appreciated.  

I am having massive issues with indesign buffering and lagging despite trying everything I can find online and through my Uni IT services.  I think am going to update my laptop but I am scared as I am afraid that will impact the space on my ram more/ interfere with my adobe or files. When selecting a color from the color picker- the resulting color in the workspace is much duller and never what I chose in the color picker. Even when I use the color dropper to get the color again, the color code is different than what I chose in the first place, and much duller.  This is the first color I selected: #f9a465 But THIS is the resulting color in the workspace. #e2a771 Why does this happen? Do my settings need to be edited to fix this?

Suddenly in InDesign, it is only possible to undo three times; likewise, the history palette only records 3 actions. There don't seem to be any issues with RAM and space on the computer. This seems to have occurred after the update to InDesign 21.1. The operating system is Windows 11 Pro.

I'd like to know the convention for naming .idlk files generated by InDesign.When opening an indd file, I want to determine if the file is already in use by someone else, but this is problematic due to the idlk naming convention.The idlk file name follows the following convention:~<file name>~<Hash>.idlkIf the file name is too long, it will be truncated.The standard length for truncation is 18 characters, but it seems to vary depending on the user's encoding.For example, alphanumeric characters are 18 characters, but in other languages, the length is not simply the number of characters.I'd like to know if this is determined by the user's system encoding or if there are fixed encoding conventions. Furthermore, if there are multiple long files, the truncated file names will all be the same.In this case, I need to check the hash value, but I don't have the information to determine the hash value.I'd like to know the criteria for determining the hash value or the generation con

I'm laying out my thesis. I copied and pasted chapter by chapter into InDesign, and I had no problems with the footnotes. But when I got to the next chapter, it gave me a random number. The text between the third and fourth chapters isn't connected; InDesign reads them as separate texts. How do I fix this?

My document is a 24x30 poster that mimics a newspaper layout with several columns. It is essentially a collection of many, one paragraph, text snippets in Myriad, Regular, 9.5 pt, with paragraph titles in Myriad semi-bold, 10 pt. Exporting to a PDF, High Quality Print, results in a file size about 250k. When a local copy/print store makes a laser print on regular generic paper, the text does not look all that crisp. So maybe it’s the paper? Or, the file size? Previously, I had printed a similar, text-only, large PDF, created by Illustrator… and the file size was around 2.5 MB and the text looked good. Once my final proofreading is done, I will have a final print made on better paper. But at $35 a pop, I wanted to be sure that I am doing everything correctly at the pre-press stage. What settings are needed to have text printed optimally on a large poster? *this is my first project with ID, but I am experienced with PS and AI.

My file gets stuck loading whenever I try and open it. I’m successfully able to open other PDFs, files larger than this one, & files within the same project. I was able to open this file 20min before Adobe stopped working with it. So far, I’ve tried the following:updating adobe resetting font files turning off OneDrive link to prevent it looping to find missing image links deleting/re-installing InDesign resetting Adobe’s recovery files (Windows) I’ve looked through every folder on my computer for any backup & I cannot find one anywhereIt throws no error codes, please help me. I’m an architecture student trying to finish my portfolio by tomorrow & now I’m freaking out that I won’t even be able to finish by then. I’ve been trying to fix this for two and a half hours.

Hi there, If I place a grayscale bmp in InDesign will it print okay? I’m working with a brand that wants all their photos to look like duotones. So I’m turning the photo into a grayscale, saving as bmp, placing in Indesign and then colourizing it by choosing one brand colour as the background colour and the other as the “ink” colour (anything black in the photo will be this colour). Looks fine in Indesign. I’ve done test exports to pdf and it looks fine. and If I open up a page in Illustrator of the exported print pdf it looks fine, and I can see the placed BMP has been converted to a CYMK object which is fine for me. Their brand book suggests taking a grayscale image and then doing mode> bitmap and using dither, and then saving as a tiff, and following the same process in InDesign with colouring. However, when i tried the method, the preview in InDesign looked awful (even though high res preview is on) and the exports didn’t look as good (weird pdf artifacts that disappear when zoo

My Links Panel works fine.  However for the first time since using InDesign over 10 years ago, the yellow triangles or red question marks that attach themselves to images which have issues of a link, no longer show in Normal View.  No idea why it happened, and no idea how to fix it.  I don't have a Links Panel issue.  I spent 30 minutes searching, but could not find anyone with this issue.  I am sure it is an easy fix, if you know how.  any help?  thanks   {Renamed by MOD}

Hi folksI’m running into a display issue where InDesign scrambles text kerning. In a current project, my text can sometimes display like this:  when it should look like this. I haven’t changed  anythign in the meantime. I’m using Optical kerning. If I set kerning to Metric and back to Optical the problem disappears.Is this connected to the current bug with text disappearing when edited? Hope this gets fixed because it’s a significant headache!I’m using Futura family from Adobe fonts - maybe an issue with that? ThanksRichard

There's weird spaces sometimes showing up randomly in the text in our text boxes (see below). It doesn't happen all the time and only happens in blocks of text (not the text in the graphics we create). We tried reloading all of fonts in the Times family and recreating our paragraph styles, but the problem continues. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?  

Hello, I know this has been asked before, but I have a specific workflow issue. I have one client document that requires the ME (Middle Eastern) version of InDesign, while the rest of my work uses the standard version. Currently, I have to uninstall and reinstall InDesign just to switch between versions.I tried creating a separate user profile to install the ME version there, but it affected my primary user profile as well. This issue was discussed 8 years ago—is there a solution yet that would allow me to avoid the constant cycle of uninstalling, changing language settings, and reinstalling?
