As the subject title suggests, if you have brushes in folders and subfolders and whatnot that are currently open, if you close Photoshop in the latest version (v25.2), they will all be collapsed down into their folders. This is really annoying because if you've been working a lot with a specific folder of brushes you'll have to navigate back to that brush set every single time you close and reopen Photoshop. Previously the way it worked is that it would keep your brush panel in whatever state it was in when it closed when you open it again. This means if you had speicifc folders collapsed and others expanded (showing their brushes) then they would remain that way until you manually collapsed them yourself. This is a massive quality of life issue for those of us artists who use a lot of brushes and have our brushes neatly organized into folders-- because it makes it difficult for us to continue where we left off...Can someone from Adobe please comment on this? I'd love to know that its
Hey everyone this is a issue that keeps happening for me and I can't figure out what it is or how to fix it. The issue is my library is showing up in the libraries panel but all the elements in the library are greyed out and I can't open any of them or drag them into a document. Sometimes restarting my computer fixes it and sometimes (like today) it doesn't. Does anyone know what this issue is/how to fix it?Any insight is appreciated!
Hey everyone, my actions that are linked to javascript files now sometimes have a "Javascript code was missing" error message when I run them as buttons. when I run them out of button mode they work fine and if I press the button again after the error sometimes it runs the code (sometimes I have to press the button 4 times and get the error 3 times and it runs the fourth). I am running photoshop 26.10 on Windows 11 I have tried:Re-recording the action so I know it has the correct path to the js fileResetting my preferencesRestarting PhotoshopRestarting my computerReinstalling PhotoshopDisabling 3rd party pluginsReistalling the action set I have also been getting "Could not complete your request due to a program error" when I run Automate>Batch>JavascriptAction with "Save and Close" on but I'm hoping fixing the action buttons will resolve this too. I don't think it's a permissions issue or a file path issue if playing the action works but the button mode does n
It's available on my Mac but not on PC. Why?
I'm opening a .jpg file of a scanned old photo in Photoshop and trying to use the Photo Restoration neural filter. After selecting it, I see a progress line for a moment and then it stops and a message comes up saying that the filter is temporarily disabled due to an error. I closed Photoshop and tried again, same result. I tried it in Photoshop Beta, same result. I reinstalled Photoshop and tried again, same result. I looked through these forums for an answer and saw the advice to delete a folder to force the app to reinstall the filters. So I tried doing that, same result. For good measure, I opened the file on my laptop and got the same result again. Both machines are Windows 11. Both had the drivers for the video card updated earlier in the day. And in all cases I was using the most recent version of Photoshop or Photoshop Beta. The photo does include recognizable faces as I can use the Skin Smoothing neural filter.
Same! And my scroll bar stops working (I can't scroll left or right on the image). It just started happening too, not sure what's going on. Photoshop 2025. And I know this is an older post, but its the EXACT same thing. Tools stop working and I have to close and reopen.Pain.
Hi guys,I have a script to open JPGs and now I need to adapt it to open PDFs.I'm getting a "wrong type of enumerated value" error exactly because of the way I'm working the PDFOpenOptions (line "open(fileList, pdfOpenOptions);").I found quite a few scripts that define pdf open options just like I did, but in all of them the root path was hard coded (I need it dynamic). So, where am I going wrong? Too much time on it, can't see errors anymore... Since the last update (26.10.0) Photoshop is very reluctant to start on Windows 11, it takes three or four tries to get the splash screen to show up. Also "open with Photoshop" is very hit and miss in this version, often nothing at all happens and this also takes multiple tries until it works if you are lucky.
GPU is Nvidia RTX 4000 Quadro with current driverHave reset Photoshop preferences, reset toolbar, processing preferences to stable, Select object option set to cloud No people option on the options bar. Side note, people selection in LRC works fine.
Hello everyone!!! im working on creating a postage stamp is PS and one step calls for creating a work path then applying a circular brush to the path to get the perforated edge of a stamp. To achieve this the tutorial calls for making the work path, selecting the brush, then applying it and VOILA!! The effect. But.....the "brushes" in my brush menu (Win 11, F5) are all white and this effect seems to add to the work path (making the edge bulge out) instead of it subtracting from the edge. Image of the brush menu and the bulged effect below. I'll add the tutorial link. my question - what's wrong? Why are the "brushes" white and I'm getting the additive effect?much appreciated!! I did the reset under the setting for brushes but......uggh!!!! tutorial (not meant to be "advertising ")https://youtu.be/FznXiKhxoUw?si=QDyv4e2reNrbdOvy image
I am having issues with the camera RAW filter in Photoshop 2023. When I open a file in Photoshop and try to use the camera RAW filter it does not open the filter adjustment box. It just spins and then stops, and I have to hit "enter" before I can do anything else in Photoshop. iIve tried disabling the GPU, and re-enabling. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop twice. I am running photoshop 2023 and photoshop Beta on my laptop, which have been running successfully on this laptop for several months. Any suggestions would really help me, Thank you.
Hi does anynone know how I can make the barcode out of the shape of the US show using a clipping mask?
Hi,Asking for a friend (> English is a problem > Dutch).Windows 11, with Bridge and Photoshop installed and fully up to date. After opening a jpeg for the second time in Photoshop (via Bridge or not via Bridge) he has a weird toolbar on the left with dots (the tools are there but not showing) and the masking tool selected.Opening a RAW file via Bridge to Camera RAW and then open it in Photoshop gives no problem with the toolbar. What we did to solve it:*Ctrl+Alt+Shift as we launched Photoshop to reset your preferences to their defaults. (did the same with Bridge, just in case).* Created a new workspace with the toolbar intact (but it does not show up after opening jpeg for the second time in Photoshop.* Reset the settings of the toolbar to its default (in the preferences.) We Googled but did not find a solution. Any Ideas what could be the problem or how to solve this. I suspect a bug... Best regardsReina
I want to draw a temporary grid line by clicking at two different places in the image.Have searched ‘everywhere’ after a answers to this simple question. Hope someone here can help me with this.
Hey Photoshop users! Have you encountered the dreaded “Scratch Disk Full” error? It can seriously slow down or even crash your workflow. I’ve compiled a few tips to fix it:✅ Free Up Space – Delete unnecessary files to clear storage. ✅ Change Scratch Disk Location – Go to Edit > Preferences > Scratch Disks and select a drive with more space. ✅ Clear Cache Files – Use Edit > Purge > All to remove temporary data. ✅ Limit History States – Reducing undo steps in Preferences > Performance can free up memory. ✅ Upgrade to SSD – If possible, an SSD dramatically speeds up scratch disk usage. Have you found other solutions that work for you? Drop your thoughts below!
Hi, A big thank you to all who took part in our previous 'Finest Cut' challenge. Who would have thought that so many ideas could start with a pizza cutter. This week we start outdoors. This is the Saltburn Cliff Lift which is a funicular railway on leading down to the promenade and pier, in Saltburn on the north east coast of England. Constructed in the 1880s, it has been updated several times, but is still powered by water. The tank underneath the upper car is filled with water and when it is heavier than the car at the bottom it descends and pulls the lower car up, all controlled by the brakeman in the wheelhouse. At the bottom the tank empties and the upper car is filled. The water is pumped back to the top.So that is the scene - what can you do to bring it to life? When you post your response can you add just a few words on how you went about it. It may help others see the potential of different approaches, software, and tools to such a challenge. The “rules”: Use the
Windows 11 laptop, always with the latrst Photoshop version.I'm just learning the crop tool and for the last few weeks have been making some good 5:4 crops. As of this morning, I've lost the ability to delete cropped pixels, and toggling the garbage pail icon just switches between filling in an area with a solid color or a checkerboard. I want neither. How do I get this back? Please see both attachments. Edit - I changed the PNG screenshots to jogs, but I still can't see them anything in the previews, but you should get the point without them. I also reset the crop tool which did not help.
Copy and pasting images from photoshop to illustrator generates a white background around your asset. This only happens on a windows machine. Mac systems work just fine. Copying from illustrator to photoshop works just fine as well. On both windows and mac. Copying a layer from photoshop to any other programs also produces the white background on a windows system, but not a mac. I tested this by copying layer assets into a google-slides presentation. On mac, it works just fine. I can copy assets from photoshop to slides without issues and with a transparent background. On windows, it always produces the white background. I believe this is a bug, but it has been an issue for a while. [Actions and Scripting tag removed by moderator since neither are referenced here]
On a Mac M series running Photoshop 24.7.1. Just so there isn't confusion on what panel I'm refering too.Inside the Layers panel, lets say I have 3 layers. Bottom later is base BKG, middle layer is a icon, top layer is a text layer. If I OPT+Click any layer the canvas zooms up - scales up to fit the contents of that layer to screen. Q: can anyone tell me how to disable?(There's enough going on in the world that is shortening my life - please help 🙂
Hello all! So I need this logo to be white on the inside with no background, and I'm just wondering the easiest way to go about it. I've tried googling, etc.... so please, anything would be helpful!

For the past several months I've had some strange issues with Photoshop, and no updates to it or Windows have fixed it. These included:Unable to export any other way than the "Export for Web (Legacy)" option. The whole program crashing when trying to access neural filters (no error message, just crash).Just a blank page with no notifications, or create new document options in the middle of the screen when first launch the app.To test I created a new Windows account on the PC, and there Photoshp ran without any issue, however on my main account, also an admin account, I have all those issues. Any idea on what's going on? I am running the latest version of both Photoshp 26.9 and Windows 11. Reinstalling Photoshop and the whole Creative Cloud Suite didn't help either.
Since the recent update or one before that I can't just "save" images I open to edit. When I work in Indesign I need to work on the images I use. I always open them from ID to PS and then edit what I need (colours, shrapness,..). I then have actions saved for "convert to CMYK" ,... and at the end "Save and exit" to preserve the link in ID. But now I can't just "save" images as I get an error saying that the infomration can't be preserved and forces me to "save as" This brakes the whole workflow with ID. Any workaround?
When exporting through "export as" scaled sizes can't handle smart object with strokes and lines. The result is way too thick strokes.
