When I run this code on a "solid fill layer" or a "shape layer" I get the same resultalert(app.activeDocument.activeLayer.kind); Result: LayerKind.SOLIDFILL I assume that a regular solid fill layer and a shape layer are both "LayerKind.SOLIDFILL" under the hood. However, I need to perform different functions for a solid fill vs a shape layer. Is there a way to detect if the layer is a shape layer? It appears that a shape layer has two properties that a solid fill layer doesn't have, but I haven't been able to figure out how to test if the properties exist on the layer. Shape layers have these two extra properties:pathBoundsAGMStrokeStyleInfo Any information would be greatly appreciated

Hello everyone,Is there a direct way to get the list of selected layers even if they are nested within groups?Currently, I'm using this code I found on GitHub Which basically creates a new group that contains the selected layers, parses that group, and then undoes the grouping. I think that's too much of an overhead for a supposedly simple task, but I was unable to find any other better way to do it.

 I am looking for the right software to draw comic strips. I want to make up a few templates of standard frames. Does photoshop do this and is it the right software for this endeavor? Thanks in advance for your help. 

Bonjour à tous, je suis un peu perdu comment procéder.  J'ai a créer une illustration à partir d'une photo que je ne souhaite pas modifier. ou bien  juste vectoriser ou la metre en objet dynamique sans effet particulier donc le plus fidele possible. sur laquelle je dois mettre un logo et quelques étoiles en objets vectoriels. ma question est : dois je travailler sur photoshop et copier collers les vecteurs en objets dynamiques ou puis je rester sur illustrator et importer/ convertir l'image photo en objet dynamique afin qu'elle ne perde pas en qualité ? C'est pour une premiere page de site web pour un client mais je suis novice. Merci d'avance pour vos lumières.

I'm exporting a series of headshots. One of the artboards is 1000px by 1250 px. When I scale down to 240x300 it adds a white line to the top of the image. However, this does not appear when scaling to 50% (500x625)

Fala galera, boa noite. Estou com um problema ao tentar usar o Liquify / Dissolver do Photoshop em determinadas fotos. Aparece essa mensagem. Eu nunca tinha visto esse erro antes, não encontrei nada na internet, já futuquei tudo que pude no PS e sistema do computador, mas não consigo resolver. Em algumas fotos eu consigo usar o Dissolver, na maioria não. Detalhe que isso só aconteceu agora com as fotos dessa cliente. E no LR eu as editei normalmente. Alguém já viu essa mensagem? Sabe como resolver?

Hello,I have an issue when using a timestamp in ZXPSignCmd. The error I get is this:http://timestamp.digicert.com/ failed with exit code 3221225477I found out that there was a similar issue recently, and it was solved by the latest version of ZXPSignCmd.I use Windows and the latest 64-bit ZXPSignCmd executable.I also tried various other TSA servers, and I didn't manage to sign the extension.The only way it signs now is just without the -tsaoption, which is not suggested by the official Adobe docs. Everything was working fine before, but now it just doesn't. Hello,I am concerned about some results of the generative expansion of photos... Today I wanted to test this function after an Adobe newsletter reminded me of it. So I opened a group photo: me and some friends standing in a garden, nothing unusual about it. Our legs were not seen on this photo. Photoshop (v26.10) generated three variations for an expanded background. I entered no prompt. One of the three generated images showed me without pants, holding something between my naked legs that (because of the pose) looked like a deformed p***s. After a surprised laugh I realized how dangerous this is. Sure, the quality of the details is bad and so it is obvious that it is AI-generated content. But I get a bit sick to my stomach when I imagine people use this function on photos with children and then they appear naked in poses like this. Now I wonder why there are no filters in place to prevent Photoshop from generating images like these? Or did they just not work in thi

Bonjour ,  je fais à un soucis avec les fichier TIFen effet , comme je suis dans l'industrie de l'impression , je dois creer ou ou convertir des fichier jpg ou png en TIF car c'est le format que ma machine d'impression prenne Le soucis est quand je crée des fichier avec des dimensions d'impressions grande ( 3m x 2m ) par exemple ou bien en combinant plusieurs photo dans un seul fichier , je sauvegarde en TIF et là dans l'explorateur windows il n y'a pas de preview et ce qui suit c'est que le fichier n'est pas accepté par ma machine .biensur quand c'est un fichier qui fait plus que 4gb j'utilise BIGTIF format . quelqu'un aurait une solution ?  Merci  Bien à vous  Chokri KEFI

I used Picasa to manage my photos for many years.  A few months ago I got a new PC (Windows 11) and there was no convenient way to migrate the Picasa setting over.  Since Picassa was ancient (and no longer supported), I decided to move to a new organizing app.  I'm a Creative Suite subscriber, so I have access to Lightroom and Bridge, both of which can do what I need.  The problem is, both apps do a lot more than I need beyond basic organizing, and, as a result, are much more complicated for organizing than I'd like.  I just need to add/edit/delete/group tags and filter by them (as well as by camera, date, and location).  Can anyone recommend an organizing-only (or primarily) app that does this and is straightforward to use?

Whenever I try to remove an object using Generative Fill in Photoshop, the result doesn’t blend well with the surrounding area. It often leaves behind a faint impression or outline of the object that was removed, making the edit look unnatural. I’ve noticed that several of my friends are facing the same issue, so it doesn’t seem to be an isolated case.

It's been a while since generative fill is producing "stains" when I use it in my image. I would like to know how to solve it. I already small portions per time so it gets better resolution.

Hello everyone, I want to use a script to align all colored layers to gray layers according to their shape outlines, and some layers are rotated 180°. Can this function be achieved through a script? I'm not very familiar with scripts. I used ChatGPT to write the scripts I need, but this time, I don't know if this function can be achieved through script logic.

I have had Photoshop for years but have never had any of the preset patterns that apparently I am meant to have.  I have search for a Patterns folder on my Mac which is there but entirely empty.  Does anyone have any idea how I can access the patterns that should be there?

Hello,I have an iMac 27in 2019 with 64GB of Ram and 1TB hard drive with 500GB available, 3.7 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5, with Radeon Pro 560X 8GB.  I have a 500 GB SSD G Drive contected to my CalDigit using a Thunderbolt 3 port as my Scratch Drive.  It's formated to APFS.  I'm not sure it's working.  Everytime I check it their are no files added.  I have it set as my primary disk for the scratch disk in the #1 position.  I've hooked it up directly to my iMac using thunderbolt 3 port and still is has no files.  I tested it and I can save a file from PS to it.  I just don't no how to fix this issue.  If I understand correctly PS should use this before using any other drive ... Adobe Photoshop version 21.6.0Windows 11 24H2, 26120.2222Steps to produce problem: Make a selection, type a prompt into the generative fill box, click "generate". Changes happen far outside of the user selection, impacting many pixels out.Expected behavior: Generative fill previously only effected pixels within the selection, or maybe 1 or 2 pixels out from the selection at most.It's unclear if the recent changes to generative fill were intentional, but they are definitely bad. The tool is worse than it was.Previously, generative fill worked based strictly on your selection. Now, generative fill has a huge buffer zone outside of your selection that it can also alter, it really seems like between 10 and 20 pixels out from the selection can be impacted by the change.This takes away the previously "surgical" nature of Generative Fill which myself and others greatly appreciated. So far as I can tell, these changes were rolled out without any way to customize back to the original behavior.

The drop down box shows Canon profiles, but they are not the ones that are  in the windows/system32/spool/drivers/color folder.  A search does not show where Photoshop is pulling them from. The drop down box shows  HFA_CanPro2000_MK_ArtCanvasSmooth.icc but I need HFA_CanPro2100_MK_ArtCanvasSmooth.icc, which is in the windows color profile folder. Win 10. thx.

 I am experiencing a problem in Photoshop that makes newer versions unusable for me.My workflow requires working with two windows of the same document open at the same time. I paint in the large window, and I constantly look at the small window to see my work from a distance. This way I can paint efficiently without having to zoom in and out every second.The issue:In versions newer than 25.5 (starting with 25.6 and above), the second window does not update simultaneously while I paint. Instead, it shows my brush strokes with an extreme delay up to minutes. This makes the feature completely unusable, because I need to see the updates instantly while I paint.Because of this, I am forced to stay on version 25.5, which still works for my workflow. But this means I cannot use any newer versions of Photoshop, as they all have this problem.
