hi, when i do batch processing on large number of files i eventually run of disk space and the operation stops due to scratch fulling. i read that during the operation photoshop makes temporary files and that's why it takes 300gb after a few hours of running. all i need to do is restart the photoshop and the space is available again. but i have to start the process all over reconfigruing to not include processed images which takes time. and i can't leave it overnight because of that. is there a way to make it purge itself after each iteration for the already processed files? thanks
Photoshop 27.4 and 27.5 are completely broken on Win 11 with an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti. The app freezes when selecting the Remove Tool, changing any panels, or opening the New Document screen. On exit, it consistently hangs in the background and won't close on its own; you have to kill the process manually, which resets all setting changes.Version 27.3.1 and below work as intended. Additionally, 27.4 and 27.5 work just fine on a PC with Win 10 and an AMD W5500. The issue seems to be specific to Win 11.
Hi everyone,As someone deeply involved in Cybersecurity and Programming, I’ve analyzed the recurring performance issues many users face with Adobe Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.). Many crashes aren't just "bugs," but often stem from system conflicts or optimization gaps. Here is a technical checklist to fix lags and crashes effectively:GPU Drivers: Always switch to NVIDIA Studio Drivers instead of Game Ready drivers. They are optimized for stability in Adobe software. Memory Leaks: Regularly use Edit > Purge > All to clear the cache. This prevents the software from choking on temporary data. Scratch Disks: Ensure your scratch disk has at least 20% free space. SSDs are mandatory for high performance here. Antivirus Exclusions: Sometimes security software blocks Adobe's background processes. Adding Adobe folders to the "Exclusion List" can stop random freezes.I hope this helps stabilize your workflow!Have you tried these steps before, or are you still experien
I recently got a new PC laptop and Photoshop has been acting weird since on only this one issue. I am using Photoshop 27.5.If I hold Shift to move something in a straight line, it very often will send the object back to where it started when I release. This mostly happens when I do it in this order: Click on object - hold SHIFT as I drag it - release. If I do the following: Hold SHIFT as I click on object and while I drag it - then release, it works as it should.Surely the answer is “then just do the latter” but this used to work fine on my previous computer and there has to be a reason. On a similar note, if I hold shift to select multiple objects on different layers, it will only work if I hold shift from the moment I click on the first object. If I click on the first object, then hold shift while I click on the second, it will deselect the first. All of this also occurs whether or not my Wacom tablet is plugged in.I have tried the following based on numerous Google searches:Sticky ke
As you can see in the photo, after I apply my layer mask, it Photoshop seems to be creating these transparent areas around the edges. How can I get rid of these or what settings are causing this?
Everything was working fine, but now I am unable to use the generative fill feature in both Photoshop and Illustrator, as it says "Please check the internet connection and try again". Attaching the screenshot for your reference. Would be great if someone could help.Thank you 🙂
When I try to use Generative Fill as I have done many times in the past, I get an error message saying “This feature is currently not available”. This only started happening when I installed PS v27.6.0 this morning. I checked and I still have credits available. I am using PS on a Windows 11 PC with the latest updates (as of April 26, 2026). Help! I use generative fill all the time.
I'm using the latest PS/ACR version on a Windows 11 laptop.I extracted two lossless PNG files from different 4K (30 FPS) videos taken with the same camera - Nikon P1100.The first image was a bird with a blue sky background. I edited the bird with an ACR filter subject mask and did a surprisingly good job of lifting shadows, as well as some other minor slider tweaks. A few more PS tweaks, and the jpg was ready to go.The second image was a bird with a marsh and woods background. I used an ACR filter subject mask and darkened the bird without performing any background masking. However, as soon as I exited the ACR filter session with the change and returned to PS, the background was badly muted, so I had to abandon that edit and make subject mask tweaks in PS.Two questions. First - why was the background muted in the second image? Second - for future edits with lossless PNG files extracted from videos, is it best to attempt ACR filter subject mask tweaks, or just do them in PS?
My keyboard shortcuts on Windows haven't been working for a little while now. Other Adobe apps don't have this issue.I tried all the reset options, deleting and re-installing it, of course the preferences in the app itself… Nothing changes the fact that the keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work. What now?
Samam. I can't save my files to Calud in Phptoshop, what should I do? All payments have been made but this situation is repeating frequently for me
Hi,First of all, quite satisfied with my Adobe products, I am a professional portrait and fashion photographer. With that said, latest Photoshop update seems to have adjusted the censorship to a too restrictive level. I’ll explain, when working with bikini models. lingerie, or anything that shows more skin, even when in good taste ( no gluts showing, or too revealing outfit etc) the Generative Expand just botches the job, no popup warning or nothing, just no generation, and if I switch to regular Firefly, it Generates just fine, so, that tells me is not really my photo not compliant, by deduction, or it simply would not generate, like Generative Expand. The lack of a warning popup also feels buggy, as it seems that the job just crashed.Thank you so much for your comments or assistance, and hoping this gets refined for better detection and less restrictive, for those professionals among us working this styles.
Disregard this post, I’m a doofus and found the simple user error
I downloaded the 2022 version onto my HP laptop. I am able to do simple edits on it and view pictures but that is all. When I purchased it I paid $89.99 for it and was able to use it in every way. Now I cannot use it. I wanted to lasso a picture of a person and add it to another picture I took to have a different background. But none of the buttons allow me to do anything! I honestly hate photoshop at this point because I feel like I wasted my money. If you cannot use all of the dropdown menus to be able to make any edits that you choose to do. I tried reaching out to support but because I am not paying for an active subscription they will not do anything to help me. I do not want to pay additional money for a program I already paid for and should be able to use. My laptop is from 2025 but I figured that adding it on to my current laptop would allow it to work. I have other programs that I bought and they have all worked just fine. Honestly, this makes me really not like adobe at all!!
Pretty simple really.Pressing ESC used to stop actions from running. Now it doesn’t. Please reinstate or let me know what the “new way” is to stop an action from continuing to run
I wanted to raise a real workflow issue regarding Generative Fill in Adobe Photoshop. For a long time, users could simply:make a selection; leave the prompt field empty; click Generate;and Photoshop would intelligently improvise based on the image context. This behavior was incredibly powerful for creative retouching and visual exploration. It was not a “forgotten prompt” or a bug — it was a legitimate creative workflow. Many of us relied on this feature to:dramatically speed up the retouching process; quickly explore multiple creative directions; discover ideas we would not have thought of ourselves; maintain a spontaneous creative flow without having to write prompts for every action.Today, the Generate button often stays grayed out when the prompt field is empty, and trying to workaround the new behavior by typing things like a dot, a space, “random,” or “improvise” only produces results that are far more limited, heavily directed, or completely irrelevant. The problem is that this turns
For almost a year now I've had some strange issues with Photoshop, and no updates to it or Windows have fixed it. These included:Unable to export any other way than the "Export for Web (Legacy)" option. The whole program crashing when trying to access neural filters (no error message, just crash). Just a blank page with no notifications, or create new document options in the middle of the screen when first launch the app.To test I created a new Windows account on the PC, and there Photoshop ran without any issue, however on my main account, also an admin account, I have all those issues. Any idea on what's going on? I am running the latest version of both Photoshop and Windows 11, and none of the updates to either have fixed anything in almost a year. Reinstalling Photoshop and the whole Creative Cloud Suite didn't help either.
My Photoshop 2020 was non-responsive on my Mac Pro 2010. Even after Disk Utility, zapping the PRAM, and unplugging the unit while pressing the Power Key. I then unistalled PS thinking a fresh re-install would make things right. PS 2020 no longer appears on Creative Cloud. Is there a legit source for an install .dmg for PS 2020 out there somewhere? I'm shooting blanks.
I tried use attached photo to make a mock up PSD Add a layer and converted to smart object Place image into smart object layer and adjust to fit the frame Duplicated photo as third layer (shadow layer) and put it before the smart object layer Select the blank area in frame Select color rage → shadow → adjust to almost same as shadow Add mask to shadow layer Blend shadow layer to multiply Make shadow layer to opacity to around 25How ever, the shadow still looks not natural, any steps I missed or any good suggestions ?
Hi Adobe Community, My name is ธนมน โสภณธนวัฒน์ (Thanamon Sophonthanawat), and I’ve been deeply curious about how artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the creative industry, especially within Adobe’s ecosystem. Over the past few years, tools like Adobe Firefly, AI-powered features in Photoshop, and intelligent automation in Illustrator have started to change not just how we design, but how we think about design itself. What used to take hours of manual effort—such as background generation, object removal, image expansion, or even concept sketching—can now be done in seconds with generative AI. This shift feels both exciting and overwhelming at the same time.On one hand, AI seems to unlock a completely new level of creativity. Designers can now experiment faster, explore more variations of an idea, and push visual boundaries without being limited by technical execution. For example, instead of spending time building complex composites manually, we can focus more on storytelling,
I am working with multiple artboards in the same document. They use Gradient Fills adjusted to each by hands based on what I see on the screen. Using Export As gives me completely different result. The difference can be easily spotted on a screenshot.I can assume the real issue is how Gradient Fill works. But still.. I m pretty sure export should be more respectful to what I see on my artboard.
Hello everyone! As of this morning, I have lost all access to AI powered tools across Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Lightroom. Every time I try to use them I am met with a persistent "Connectivity Error," despite my internet connection being perfectly stable ( I have tried to solve the issue connecting via hotspot on my phone too).I spent over 2 hours with an Adobe Live Support agent who took remote control of my laptop, performed deep clean-ups, and adjusted various settings, yet they were unable to resolve the issue. Eventually, I decided to performe a full format of my system followed by a clean installation of everything. To my shock, the problem still persists on this specific machine. The most confusing part is that I have a second less powerful laptop using the exact same Adobe account on the same network, and the AI tools there work perfectly fine. This leads me to believe that the issue isn't with my account or my ISP, but somehow tied to my main workstation. I did use a VPN briefl
When using the Generative Fill feature, I encountered the message: "We encountered a problem and currently cannot complete your request. Please try again later."
Hello,I own a genuine license for Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection and CS6.0 master collection. I am trying to activate the software on a new computer, but I receive the error message “Activation limit reached”. The issue is that I can no longer access the old computers in order to deactivate the software.Could you please reset the activation count for my license so I can use the software on my new computer?
