I tried clicking the left mouse button repeatedly, but that didn’t seem to work.It seems that only double-clicking to select a word or triple-clicking to select an entire line works.However, when adjusting a specific column or page, it can also be useful to select the text in the current column or on the current page. 

I’ve designed two reflowable ePubs in the last 48 hours with same image alignment error. I design them all of the time, so it’s not me. Images are not center aligned though I’ve selected align center layout and even manually added object export custom alignment center to the image with same result of left alignment. Please advise. Thank you.

InDesign was working fine last night. This morning, when I tried to export a PDF, it became unresponsive. I Forced Quit and tried again. After this second try, after it loads, I get only a grey screen and am unable to even access preferences. On top of that, it seems to be using significant energy. I tried uninstalling and installing other versions, to no avail. 

Hi everybody,I recently had an issue in InDesign that prevented me from exporting my document.Every time I tried to export it would come up with an error message saying '’Possible cause of failure is present on spread with page number 24’ We tried deleting the spread and then the same error message would pop up but with a different page number ''Possible cause of failure is present on spread with page number 9'’ and it kept moving. All the links were working, and we have used this template hundreds of times and never had any issues.My colleague seems to think it could be due to slow internet and the document was having trouble finding the files to export. Could this be the case?Any suggestions are appreciated as this caused us to miss a tender submission deadline and we really don't want it happening again.Thank you 

I have currently selected multiple images, and I want to use a script to generate captions. After generating static captions, automatically select the captions as the operating objects.In the future, I will make other adjustments to the captions.  

I was attempting to do some basic tasks with Flex Layout in InDesign PC. After about a half-dozen things were tried InDesign completely froze, the process had to be stopped and the program re-launched. This is 100% repeatable behavior, whether with an existing file open or with a new file open. Everything else with ID is fine, just whenever I try to use Flex.I can work around this by never using it (I never did before), but since there’s a risk of document corruption when I force-close I.D. I’m wondering what’s going on.

I have been trying to generate styles using scripts for a long time.Suddenly realizing that this is a thankless task.Perhaps importing styles can be easily implemented. If my script is located at: ../scripts/myScript/aa.jsxMy style file can be found at: ./scripts/styles/myStyle.inddIs there a script that can import all style structures (including group names) with one click?One click import of all, no need to select.

I used InDesign professionally, every day of my life, from v.1 through 2014. I've gotten out of design and print production, but have kept an old copy for random use and access to my old files. Just last month I upgraded to an Apple Silicon Mac, and so got the latest Creative Cloud apps.    I'm finding the current InDesign SUPER annoying to use. When I try to grab certain elements, particularly picture boxes, it seems to be completely random if the cursor grabs the frame or the content. I'm always using the top arrow (item selection tool). This used to be enough to guarantee that I'd grab the whole item and not the enclosed image. But no longer.    Is there a setting that can restore the old (logical) behavior? Has Adobe's UX team, in its cruel efficiency at tormenting its users, added an arbitrary step here? Please help.    <Title renamed by moderator>

Find missing glyph.InDesign crashes when handling documents containing tables.It doesn't crash if you set it to the paragraph and cell level.Documents containing overset text also crash.Is this an InDesign bug?app.findGlyphPreferences.glyphID = -2;alert(app.activeDocument.findGlyph()[0].contents); 

Since updating to the 2026 version, InDesign has been working slower and slower for me, primarily on my iMac. Launching the app takes almost two minutes, the spinning wheel appears roughly every 30 seconds and lasts for up to a minute, and it’s become impossible to. I’ve restarted, updated, and cleared my iMac, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and nothing seems to help. Is there something I’m missing?

I’ve been experimenting with the Beta version, and just found that I can’t copy a Column Break symbol from the release version and paste into the Beta version. I don’t know if other break symbols (or other symbols/markers) are affected.Also, I had to enable what’s shown below to allow styles to remain present from the release version into the Beta: Any thoughts?thanks

Bonjour à vous tous, J’ai crée un document indesign qui s’apparente à un CV Français (selon moi “indesign” le plus adapté pour le balisage) en séparant les contenus, texte (j’ai ouvert les fenêtres autant de fois que nécessaire, afin d’éviter les espaces blanc qui perturbent l’ats)/ Photo d’identité / et logo puces avec plusieurs calques afin de créer une lisibilité et une cohérence, surtout éviter les bug de lecture ATS dû à la photo les éléments décoratifs logo puce.Ma question est la suivante dois-je obligatoirement utiliser les styles de paragraphe comme indiqué sur les tutos google pour le balisage (il me semble que l’ATS se fiche du style de texte non o.0 pourvu qu’on détermine un ordre de lecture, avec article et qu’on met en berne photo/puces/ bloc d’éléments décoratifs non??) j’ai pu observer plusieurs fonctionnalités fenêtres - structure - balise et évidement le panneau article pour inscrire une cohérence ?? Quelle la méthode de balisage la plus “friendly” pour les ATS ?? Je

One of the affected spreads. The blank column does not appear when images are pasted over it. I need to know how to remove this. I created an idml version - no difference.  

When I set narrow bullet indents, the second line always goes wonky and pushed far out. When I set it to higher values, they align nicely.Font is Georgia 6pts, with 7.2pt leading. When I choose any larger font size than 6, it also works. I have:No paragraph styles activated No cell styles activated No tab styles activatedI’d appreciate any advice on how to fix this. I have a catalogue that already includes quite a lot of sections (based on specific product groups) as such, I don’t want to force numbering by starting a new section, as this will affect my automatic numbering setup and mix up the sections for each product group already added. However, I want to add adverts in between certain pages on my catalogue without this affecting the page numbers of the rest of my pages. for exampe, page 1, page 2, Advert, Page 3. We are constantly adding pages and need the automatic numbering function, and referencing the page number off a separate list is also not an option.  I see so many people with this exact same issue. Surely Adobe can add a “Exclude page from numbering” check box?

I created a numbered list Paragraph titled: Numbered List 1, the mode Start At  1. To be able to have this list continue numbering from 1 I duplicated the list, edited the Style Name: to Numbered List 1 Cont. and under Mode: I set it to: Continue from Previous.  For some reason the next numbered list continues at 4, not 2. What could be causing this to happen? I have never had this issue with numbering before. Any help would be appreciated. Todd

I have selected an image that is embedded in a text box.I want to obtain the Y value of the anchor point and the X value of the left column line of the anchor point.

I've used InDesign for at least 15 years and until a few years ago it was great. But over the past few years it has gotten worse and worse in regard to crashing and just doing odd things. This has been my experience, first when I got a top of the line 2020 iMac with an M1 chip, and now with a brand new Mac Studio with an M2 Max chip, 64GB memory and Apple Studio monitor. The main issue is that it crashes on an almost daily basis. Fortunately I haven't lost a file yet, but it's still annoying. I've been on the phone with Adobe tech support a number of times, but despite removing the preferences, updating the OS and app version, etc, etc, any improvement lasts maybe a week.   It also does weird things like defaults to a different workspace arrangement everytime I leave InDesign to momentarily work in another program. I've reset my preferred workspace (no docs open) numerous times.  Occasionally things like text color or edits don't view properly. I have to toggle

The latest version on InDesign was not working on our Windows 11 systems: it either wouldn’t launch or when using it, text will disappear in text boxes (even though it is still there) and the Undo action only performs one or two undos. Uninstalled and went back to InDesign version 20.5.1 which appeared to work fine until today: now I am having the same undo problem. Tested in a brand new document.It should be noted that coworkers with Macs are not having this issue.I saw a previous post that said this could be fixed by unchecking the GPU option in preferences, but that is NOT checked in mine (it is greyed out because it says it does not detect a compatible device).It is almost impossible to work knowing you only have one undo, please advise how to fix this!
