For context:Current photoshop version 26. I have a large photoshop project, I am making a pitch deck for a director. I saved the first 7 pages I made in the psd as a project file. Now every time I open the project file it tells me "Couldn't complete request due to program error." I tried opening a previous backup. That file opens but it gives me "Some text layers might need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update these layers now?" I click update. It just opens the psd. But there are certain text layers with warning sign on them. When I click them to edit, I get "Couldn't complete request due to program error". I did the untick "Disable GPU Accelaration" . It doesnt help. I have photoshop 2021 installed, and the file doesn't open there, the software just crashes.Help please. This is two days work that will be completely spoiled and set me back a lot if not resolved.
Updated my Photoshop & now whenever I use my pen tool to make selectionIt will only allow my to fill in the outside of my selectionI just want to be able to make a selection and color inside of it Please help !!Thanks
How do I turn off the auto-select feature? Usually, when I want to select a layer, I right click and choose it, now all of a sudden, when I left click on anything, it selects it and won't remove the selection box until I click another area. You can see below it put's a box around the layer, I dont want that
Hi has anyone got a code snippet that reliably applies a different font to a text layer? I been trying to change variations of Noto Sans fonts (depending on to local language). I have a lookup table for language vs font, but I cannot seem to get the new font applied to a named layer! Any help or ideas?
Hey everyone,I’ve been diving deep into vintage and modern streetwear graphics for inspiration in some personal Photoshop projects. One brand that stands out to me in terms of typography, layout, and graphic treatment [weblink removed]. Their designs have that raw, hand-drawn aesthetic but still feel super intentional—great use of negative space and layering. I’m trying to recreate some of that gritty, analog texture in Photoshop—any tips for achieving that kind of screen-printed look digitally? Especially when working with bold fonts and halftone overlays? Would love to see how others approach fashion or merch mockups too. Cheers!
I have 25 images that I need export using the control of the Export As dialog box. I need to set the Quality, Image Size in Pixels, select the Reseample option, remove the Metadata, and convert the color space to sRGB. When I open all the images in Photoshop 2025 and then select File / Export /Export As... I am presented with a dialog box where one of the optional checkboxes is "Select All" with the one image that I have active in what looks like it could be a list, but is currently a "list" of one, and it is checked. Why have the "Select All" checkbox if it can only provide the option of checking or unchecking the ONLY image in the list? Very confusing...
For several years, I saved and used "alpha channel" as an "export" function. It was useful because various colors of "channel" were merged and stored at once. Since the recent update, 'Export' has no longer been able to retrieve 'Alpha Channel'. Only 'layer' is retrieved from 'Export', so an empty screen is saved. Is there a solution? I've tried reinstalling it to the previous version, but it's not solved.
I have been trying to convert a video into a gif on Photoshop. However, when I go to save for web > export as gif and click save, I receive an error message that the operation cannot be completed due to memory. I have 50GB of storage available on my Mac, and 1.5 TB of storage available on an External Hard Drive. I have tried exporting to both my hard drive and straight to my desktop. I am on Photoshop v23.2.1On macOS Monterey 12.2.1 My computer - 13" Macbook Pro 20191.4 GHz8 GB memory I have read previous threads regarding this issue, but have not seen any from 2022 or using this latest version of Photoshop. These are the fixes I have tried that have been recommended --Restarting Photoshop-Resetting Photoshop preferences-Giving Photoshop additional access in the system prefrences on my mac (under privacy & accessibility) If there are any other possible solutions to this, please let me know.
I'm not sure what exactly is going on. I've noticed that after using an eraser, some brushes turn into erasers. It's a bit hard to explain, so here are screenshots:here's one of the default brushes, working totally fine.here's the eraser.here's one of the default brushes that turns into an eraser after I use an eraser. I've pretty much noticed that the only brushes that do this are the ones that don't have a paintbrush in the upper right-hand corner of their previews. It really messes with my productivity to have these brushes changing into a totally different tool after I use an eraser. They don't just change into erasers though - after I use one of the kyle webster oil paint brushes, these brushes take on the quality of being oils too. This never happened when I first downloaded photoshop. (Not sure if this is relevant, but I only recently ran into these problems after I opened the program one day and saw that it had deleted all of my custom brushes, and I basically had to re-downloa
I have the latest update of photoshop 2025 using it in my mac, and it's been harder to find my cursor whenever I have photoshop file open, and I realize it's because my cursor which normally have a white outline, has now a dark gray one. Terrible on dark mode applications btw. And would stay gray when used elsewhere unless I closed my photoshop file. So I'm wondering if this is a bug in the new update, if it's happening to anyone else, or how to fix it?
I'm having an issue when I try to export a .gif. The document profile is Adobe RGB 1998. Viewing the .gif preview, you can see that the colors are quite saturated. Note how I haven't selected sRGB. Exporting the .gif gives me a much duller result (I am posting a screenshot, the actual file is too large to post.) What could be causing this discrepancy between the preview and what is being exported? How can I get the more accurate colors? I don't think it's related to my dither or color table options?
So I normally use the key Alt and Drag an object to duplicate them on Photoshop, but ever since I upgraded to Photoshop 2020, this is not working. Is this a bug? How can I restore this?
Sorry...I thought this would be super elementry but I can't find the answer anywhere. I've been using Photoshop for 15 years now but lately when I rotate a picture, it is rotating around some random point, not the center. It's doing this on different computers and different accounts. I'm sure the answer is super simple but all i can find is changing the rotation point in transform...not general rotation. Thanks and sorry for being stupid, This is probabaly like looking for your keys and discovering them in your hand
Sometimes when using the Polygonal Lasso tool to make an extended selection across the artboard, the cursor changes to a thick arrow making precise selections challenging. I've used PS for many years, and have never experienced this until this latest version (or maybe 2022, I don't remember). I use PS on an almost daily basis and would love to disable the feature if there is a setting for it. Photoshop 2023, version 24.7.0.iMac 24 inch, M1Ventura 13.416GB ram
Hi! I’m having a persistent problem with Photoshop on my Mac. It started by saying: “We can’t verify your subscription status – Error Code: 12000” Then after flushing the DNS cache and checking my internet (which is working fine), it now gives me: “Sorry, Photoshop has encountered an error and needs to close – Error Code: 201” I’ve already tried:•Restarting my Mac•Logging out and back into Adobe Creative Cloud•Flushing DNS cache•Turning off firewall temporarily•Reinstalling Photoshop•And even tried to use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool Nothing has worked so far, and I have an active subscription. Any help would be really appreciated!
Hi everyone,I’m looking to recreate a design like the one in the attached image — it has a bold, editorial layout with halftone-style illustration and clean typography. The dotted halftone effect forms the image of a fish, while the text is sharply set against a grid-like background. It feels very modular, almost like a scientific or retro display poster.I’d love help figuring out:How to create the halftone effect over an image cleanly, like this pixel/dot raster lookHow to keep the layout clean and aligned — is there a smart way to set up a grid like this in Illustrator?Best fonts or typographic approaches to match this bold, modern-scientific styleAny tips, tutorials, or plugin recommendations would be amazing. Thank you!

I'm experiencing severe performance issues when working with artboards in Photoshop (v26.5.0). Despite having a high-end PC, the software becomes slow or unresponsive when dragging artboards or interacting with them.System Specs:CPU: Intel (8 cores / 16 threads, 3.8GHz)GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (12GB)RAM: 32GBOS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (Build 26100.3775)Photoshop Version: 26.5.0 x64 (March 2025 release)What I’ve Tried:Clean Windows reinstallClean GPU driver install (using latest from NVIDIA)Tested Photoshop with and without GPU accelerationAdjusted energy settings (High Performance mode + 100% CPU usage)Adjusted Photoshop performance settings (Cache Levels, Legacy Compositing, etc.)Tried with both integrated and dedicated GPU (when switching possible)Tested different versions of Photoshop (same issue with v25.x as well)Used task managers to confirm system resources are underused (CPU/GPU barely utilized)Observations:Only artboards cause the issue — standard canvas files behave normal
Hi everyone,I came across this visual (attached) featuring a stacked “R” and “D” with a really striking glow and distortion effect — almost like the letters are lit from within, with a smoky or liquid-like blur in between. The glow seems soft yet intense, and there’s a smooth transition where the two letters almost merge through light and shadow.I’d love to recreate this kind of effect in Adobe Photoshop (or After Effects if that’s better). Could anyone point me in the right direction? I’m especially curious about:The glowing aura around the lettersThe misty/smoky blending between charactersAny distortion or displacement techniques that could help achieve the “melting” transitionThanks in advance for any advice or tutorials you can recommend!
I have an Adobe Creative Suite subscription for PC, which includes Photoshop. Recently, I installed the Photoshop app on my phone as well, but the app won’t let me log in. Instead, it asks me to purchase a separate subscription to use it on mobile. I don’t think this is fair, so I wanted to ask if this is actually how it’s supposed to work, or if there might be some issue. What confuses me even more is that I can use Lightroom on my phone with the same subscription, but not Photoshop. Why is there a difference?
Hi, when I select a shape and add a gradient to its edge by dragging the cursor through its side, the shape is deselected after the first drag of the cursor. My question is how to keep the shape selected when dragging the cursor a number of times through the other edges of the shape in order to add the gradient to the other edges.
I have seen on the forum and have not found anything about itI would like to configure the mixer brush tool with a script I wish I could set all these parametersI hope it can be done since I use this tool a lot
