I have a valid CharacterStyle, but I can't find the property in a TextFrameItem to apply it to. I've tried applying it to the TextFrameItem, its contents, and its characters properties, and the script quits in all cases. I can't find any example online, either. Any insight appreciated.  style = sourceDoc.characterStyles.getByName("AValidStyle); if (!style) // couldn't find style in sourceDoc continue; // create a temporary page item var tempTextItem = activeDocument.textFrames.add(); tempTextItem.contents = "1"; style.applyTo(tempTextItem.contents); // NOPE

Hi, I'm trying to automate transcodes of ProRes RAW material by using either Premiere or Media Encoder.Currently, my best option is to use a source effect preset in Premiere to set the source color space and then apply a LUT on export. It is a bit of a manual process though and I'd like to write a script to do it automatically. The best thing would be to just use Media Encoder and not have to involve Premiere at all, but I can't change source settings of multiple clips at once.I was looking through the scripting documentation for both Premiere and AME but couldn't find a way to change the source color space. Am I missing something?

Hi guys, I have Lightroom Classic. I noticed in my Applications folder the following files/folders:Adobe Bridge 2022 thru 2025-4 folders,Adobe Bridge 2022 thru 2025-4 folders,Adobe Connect, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe InDesign 2022 thru 2025-4 folders, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Lightroom CC,Adobe Lightroom Classic, Adobe Photoshop 2025, Adobe Premiere Rush 2.0, Adobe Reader 9.  So ... which to keep - or not? And what's the ebest way to delete some of these folders? Thanks a lot.

This is my company logo - I need to be able to print the black within the cow, but have the rest of the background white. I am brand new to illustrator, but it seemed like the right tool for the job. I have no idea what i'm doing - please help! I tried inverting the colors, but it looks strange and doesn't produce the same image when printed. I think in general I need to just outline the entire cow (not trace each individual element) and then change/remove the background - but leaving the black within the cow as it is.  Thank you!

Hi team.I guess this is something to do with my colour set up.basically I am in the process of creating some simple one colour graphics in illustrator. And in illustrator they look just how I want nice and vibrant. However once I place them into indesign they look dull and lifeless. This would not bother me except when I export to PDF from indeisgn that dull lifeless image is carried to the PDF.If I PDF from illustrator it looks just how I want.Frustratingly in the links panel of indesign that same great colour is there but I cannot for the life of me work out why in the document it looks dull and int he PDF too, I really need help on this as its for a tender which needs to be in by the end of the weekend. To clarify I am not worried so much about absolute colour correction, i.e. calibrating screens etc, my problem is illustrator looks great, indesign looks dull.

Show-stopping performance issue here! I am completely blocked from being able to work at all. Premiere is currently using 100% disk access and 100%+ memory usage, sitting idle, doing nothing! In Premiere Pro 2024, I opened a project originally created in v2023. Was prompted to convert the file format. After doing so, disk access on the drive where the video files are stored immediately skyrocketed to 100%. It stayed that way for a very long time. Two hours later, the drive was still being hammered to death. Completely unable to use Premiere at all, it was dead in the water because it couldn't play any files. CPU usage was near zero. Resource Monitor showed Premiere reading the source footage files. If it was trying to build peaks and caches, it did so with extreme inefficiency. Even worse, after closing the project, disk access persisted at 100%. Resource Monitor showed the same few source footage files being read. Eventually Premiere got tired I guess, or it felt it had

Hi all! My goal is to have text update across pages and maintain the paragraph style on the page.  As you can see in the above example, when I change the text (story) on page one (black text color) then try to update the link to page two (red text color) I get the message 'Edits have been made in linked story "<Page 1>".  You will lose these edits by updating. Update anyway?'  Which is telling me that my edits (paragraph style/red color) on page two will be lost when I update the link.  That's what I don't want!  I want to maintain the edits when updating the link so that the text on page 2 stays red (or sized differently etc) even when the text (story) changes.  I tried using the 'Link Options: Story and Objects' (pictured below) panel by selecting both links in the links panel, right clicking and selecting 'link options' which gives me the checkboxes for Appear under 'Preserve Local Edits while Updating Object Links'  This seems like

Hi was wondering if someone can help or if you all have exprenced this in the past. My illustrator is freaking out. I have an .ai file with text I can see it in the artfile when i'm working on it but when I save and preview in the apple finder/viewe I cant see the text at all. I have the most recent version of illustration even uninstalled and re-added to see if it'll help. nothing. Any advice is appreciated.

After applying CF2021 Update 19, the add-ons would no longer start, so I reinstalled them to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, SOLR reverted back to 7.2.1. I attempted to upgrade to 8.11.3 manually by following "Upgrade SOLR in ColdFusion" steps (https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/upgrade-solr-security-coldfusion.html), but it has not been successful. Can someone provide guidance or possible work-around?Side note: There was no "managed-schema.xml" within the Solr 8.11.3.zip provided on the from the upgrade page.

Latest version of  Indesign (20.2)   is removing  bold fonts  on some of the pages.    I reverted back to  20.0  and working ok

Hi there - just wondering if anyone knows how to create this kind of print effect? Thank you!

I have a 38-page document created in InDesign 20.3 x64 (Windows 11) for print. I need to publish the document online. I created a menu on the master page with a pancake to get the menu to appear. In the menu, I created a separate button for each of the publication's sections. I then set the GO TO PAGE to each of the respective pages. When I publish the document online the menu does what I want it to do, but when I click on the section buttons, the links go to the wrong page. It looks like the links are all off by 2 pages. I've tried doing the links as hyperlinks, which does not work. The community has been so helpful to me in the past, and I appreciate everyone's help. Hope you all can help again.

Hi everyone,For the first time, I am working with Canon 6k RAW footage in Premiere Pro, 4k timeline. What's the safe workflow with clips, in order to not destroy pixels and retain quality? Will "Scale to Frame" be a destructive way to do this? If so, then scaling the 6k frame manually, will yiled the same destructive effect? Will "Fit to Frame" be the only non-destructive method, then? But then I can't reframe the 6k as I would wish within the 4k sequence? Thanks for any help,Jan.

Hi all. To work around the lack of any way to set arrowheads on a line programmatically, I need to open a file containing the necessary graphic style or element. The File.openDialog function does indeed raise a file dialog, but so far I haven't seen a way to get default Illustrator locations. Most users will not know where these are. Any insight appreciated.

I just moved from a 2019 iMac to a Mac Studio M4 Max (2TB SSD, 64GB/16 Core). I have been working off a Sabrent USB-3.2 external docking station (https://sabrent.com/products/ds-sc4b?srsltid=AfmBOooS-DjNxD6zoL67XDT6TTJRhhftLQYBipfCAxXA4oTg8HIRx-NB) that holds my files. I do all processing (RAW files in Capture One) and retouching (Photoshop) off of the 7200rpm drives inside the Sabrent box. Would there be ANY speed advantage if I moved to a Thunderbolt 3 Storage Enclosure like the OWC ThunderBay 4 over my current USB-C box, or is the only way to take full advantage of the Thunderbolt speed bump to also work off of SSD drives? I'm guessing that the faster Thunderbolt docking station will not result in faster working speeds with my 7200rpm hard drives because the speed bottleneck is the hard drive itself, not the interface.

I am running the latest version of Photoshop CC and Windows 10 64-bit.Hi all, I've been having an issue for a while (since one of the recent updates, I cannot remember which) where I am unable to drag files from any location on my PC into Photoshop. Rather than the file opening (or being placed into an open document), the mouse cursor changes to a "stop" or "no" icon. I recorded a video of what it looks like:I had temporarily solved the problem by doing the following (as per Google):I stopped running Photoshop as an administrator (which I had been doing as a means to 'fix' another problem I was having). This did NOT work on its own. I went on to do the second step (below) as recommended in various Google results.I disabled the "Show Messages" option under Edit > Preferences > General > Show Messages. This seemed like an odd 'fix' to me, but it actually worked! (Briefly).Doing both those items worked and allowed me to drag files into Photoshop again, however, upon restarting my P

Is it possible for me to check if anyone has downloaded a file from my Adobe Cloud using the link I provided?

Hello all, My team is hoping to make a fillable PDF that can be filled twice; once by the initial user, who then saves their version, and again by a second user, who adds to the first user's version. We have made fillable PDFs that can be edited by an initial user -- using the Prepare Form tool on Adobe Acrobat -- but are having trouble keeping fillable fields intact for a second user. Check box fields and radio dials are lost after the first save. How do we keep the same fillable entries, so that the second user does not have to manually enter text boxes, and signature spaces?  Attached are examples from a patient packet which we are hoping to digitize, as they are currently printed and filled out by hand. You will see that Version A, which the patient fills out, is blank with fillable entries intact. Version B, however, does not leave the fillable entries open, which presents difficulties for the clinician hoping to complete the remainer of the forms. Thank y

My photos were rejected due to quality reasons. I would like to understand why and learn more about the reason for the rejection. Can you give your assessment and help me figure it out? Thank you in advance for your critical

I have been using Calibre to create and design reflowable ePubs from PDFs. My process has been to convert the PDF into an ePub file and then reformatting the ePub for widespread use across various devices. I have heard that some ebook designers use Indesign to create and design their ebooks. However, a quick Google search tells me that they only use Indesign for fixed-format ePubs, not for reflowable ePubs. Is all of this true? Should I invest in an Indesign subscription or stick with Calibre? What are some things Indesign can do that 1) Calibre cannot do and 2) would be helpful to me as an ebook designer?

I have been asked to turn this jpeg into a layered psd file that would allow us to quickly and easily change out the 4 photos inside the puzzle pieces each week.  I am pretty familiar with the basics of photoshop but I'm not sure how to create a psd file (or smart objects?) so that we can just copy/paste the 4 new photos into the file each week and have them look like this?  Can someone provide the steps for this process?   Thank you!!

Perspective crop tool. In Photoshop CC. Applying desired adjustments causes the image to "disappear" That is it becomes a 1x1 pixel image. Have I got a setting wrong? Any suggestions?
