My brush tool is not working. When I mask a layer and want to reveal using white or conceal using black it does a combination of both. When making my brush black it doesn't conceal or work at all. When making my brush white to reveal (after clicking control i) it will alternate between reveal one second then conceals the next second. Please help. Thanks!

In the latest update to PhotoShop and the Beta version, I noticed that gradient masks are no longer working like they used to (again). It's one of PhotoShop's most powerful tools, and I am incredibly frustrated that this is being tampered with. Please tell me if this can be fixed or if I need to learn a new workaround for selecting with gradients in quick mask mode.

Hello everyone, I am hoping to learn a good method for my task.Basically, I've been doing some mockup characters for a project and using some reference images for colour adjustments. What I'm trying to do is recolour my mockup character's hair (for example) to match the colour and tone depth (not just a flat dead one-tone colour overlay) of a reference character's hair colour.  Horrible example but this is just to visualize my question: Let's say I liked the hair colour of the character on the left and I wanted to match that colour onto the character on the right. As you can see, low-res spritework like this only has 2 or 3 tones of colour for highlights/shadows, but there are often even more for more realistic photos and for high quality modern character art. I want to match the exact highlight/midtone/shadow of one character to another.I know I can use a hair selection and an adjustment layer to do something like "Hue/Saturation" or "Curves", but I always just end up gettin

Hello I have just had a new hard drive fitted in my computer and I've noticed that the generative expand tab is greyed out. Both in the contextual task bar and in the fill drop down box. Also I can no longer drag and drop images into Photoshop. Any ideas why? I'm using the latest version of PS and using Windows 10

Not sure if anyone else has run across this, but sometimes, when I use the Essential Sound and apply a dialogue preset (in most of my cases: Dialgoue > Balanced High/Low Tone Voice), the Dynamics tab gets stuck and displays the message "Clip Content Analysis in Progress."  I've restarted, cleaned cache, and rendered out the seq (in case it was just a preview thing)...none of that helps...BUT what does help, is if you go into the Effect Controls for the Audio, and then de-select and re-select the Fx icon for Dynamics Processing, the magical Priemere Pro gears get unstuck and the audio is processed.  I've cut the track into smaller segments, and then perhaps one gets unstuck and processes the audio but the others don't ever complete processing, even if they're much shorter than before (I assume because the original file is still one large/long audio file).  Premiere Pro 25.2.1PC - Windows 10 Ent. v22H2Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K96MB RAM   &n

Hey!I'm working on a 2020 M1 Mac Book Pro with After Effects 22.5 installed. Whenever I try to collect a project, the files within the footage folder are all 0KB.When I open up the project I get an assortment of error and warning messages such as this   Really not sure why this is happening – I've never had this issue before

After watching Anthony Morganti's videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kufI_hbn1QUI wanted to try out the new Actions panel. When I clicked on the Actions icon, however, the panel opened, but there was nothing in it (see attached screenshot). I tried with several different photos. I'm running MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1, Photoshop Beta 26.7.0. Any thoughts on how to get the Actions to show up? Thanks!Nicole.

Just moved lightroom to a new computer.  None of the imported video clips have sound.  Is there a Codec I need to download.  it plays on my old computer.

Im trying to make a brush that i could do the lines on the feather easier. COuld anyone help

I somehow made an annual commitment to Adobe to not only 1 subscription but two. I relayed to customer service that I did not intend to subscribe. I have not used nor plan to use their services. Apparently I am unable to cancel without paying a $90 early cancellation fee. This is a SCAM structure of doing business. I felt obligated to share for other consumers protection. Customer service hung up on me leaving me very unsatisfied and upset

In my version of After Effects, I cannot find the Auto Trace option. I want to create a layer to apply an effect to my logo. I need a layer that will allow the effect to recognize the anchor points of the logo. I’ve tried a few workarounds with Illustrator and the Brush Tool, but nothing seems to work as expected. The program should automatically recognize the logo and create a layer with a mask around it. Could someone please help me with this? Here’s the logo I want to trace and create a mask around. (I have a german Version of After effects) this is the Logo I want to Auto trace

I upload a range of images, some AI, some taken with my camera, adjusted in lightroom (no ai tools used.) I found out today that 6 of my real images have been tagged as AI, despite them not being AI images. (I also did not tag them myself as AI.) What is the process to have this corrected? Most of all, I am now concerned that other photos I've taken will be tagged as AI when they aren't.

Hey all. Desperately in need of help. Adobe Premiere has, for whatever reason, stopped giving me any audio playback at all. I know the clips have audio, and the wav forms show in the sequence, but when played, the audio meters don't register anything at all. No tracks are muted. I'm running the most current verion of '25, running it off a Lenovo Thinkpad X1. I didn't (intentionally anyway) change any settings. The audio works outside of Premiere so it has to be a software or setting issue. Any assist here would be great.

Hello.   The dreaded Edit in-Photoshop has stopped working again.  I've cleared preferences and resinstalled multiple times and yet it keeps coming back.   I have the latest versions as of May '25, never had beta versions and is practically a virgin machine with just CC on it.  It is a Mac M4 Pro Max.   I am using a Fuji GFX 100 II in compressed RAW 16-bit.   I get, at most, 3 goes with it working and then it stops working with jut the PS splash screen.   Any thoughts?   Thanks.

Note from moderator: Things have changed since 2019 when this thread was started and it is now locked. If you have a questions about the new gradient tool, please start a new thread where we will be happy to help you! The information about the Multiply blending mode has not changed and is still valid.     I'm currently running PS 2020 on Windows 10. In the past, I could use the gradient tool to add multiple gradients to a layer. Now every time I use the tool more than once on the same layer, it erases the previous gradient and leaves only the most recent one. Is there any way I can correct this? Or do I have to add a new layer for every individual gradient I apply?

Hi,I received access to my deceased father's bank account and noticed that there were PayPal withdrawals. I contacted PayPal, and they provided me with the transactions in the PayPal account since my father's death on the 30th of April 2024. For a total of AUD$318.89.What is the process of having these transactions credited back to the PayPal account, having been charged to a deceased person? Thanks,AT

I've been reading through other posts about licenses as well as the adobe license terms themselves and it seems like the answer is yes but it would be great if someone else can confirm that I am allowed to use a standard licesnse for an asset to add to a client's website for example. I completely understand that if I want to use the same asset for multiple clients I need multiple licenses. I just want to be sure that I can download assets to use for clients other than myself.

In Adobe XI after I place a stamp on a document I want to add a text box with a reference number, then move that text box inside the stamp.  Currently when I do this the text goes behind the stamp.  Even if I go into edit photos and text and select bring to front for that text box.  Please help.

When I hit the convert button, nothing happens.  I have checked to make certain my subscription is valid, but haven't been able to convert for a couple months.

I have placed a rectangular image to fall between two columns of wrappiing text. The text will not wrap. The object has been brought to the front. The screen shot attached shows the page and the text wrap box.It  is on the last page of "Sanskrit Article," attached.

My pdf files will not print.  When I choose print, although my Epson printer is the default, the Adobe printer dialog box always opens up with "Microsoft Print to PDF".  When I change to my default printer, it doesnʻt do anything and changes back to print to pdf.  All other types of documents print on my printer, just not the saved pdfʻs.  I tried printing a pdf while on the browser, Microsoft edge, and the pdfʻs print!I am using a paid monthly version of Adobe
