Hello compositors and fans of transparent backgrounds! The After Effects team is excited to introduce a brand-new plug-in: a native Unmult effect.   We know... it's about time.    Starting in After Effects Beta version 26.0.08, you’ll find Unmult under the Effect > Keying menu or in the Effects & Presets panel > Keying category.   How Does it Work? Unmult removes solid black or white backgrounds from a layer to restore the original transparency from when your footage was captured.   For example, if you want to composite this fire element over a grill while people enjoy a barbecue in the background, Unmult converts the black areas to transparency and restores the original colors in semi-transparent regions. Instead of black fringing around the fire, you’ll see vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges.      Effect Parameters Some Unmult effects you may have used have one or two parameters, while others have none. Now in After Effects (Beta) build 26.0x40 and later, we are introducing two improvements for expressions & scripting.  Quickly find the keyframe or marker before or after a given time, without writing lengthy, repetitive logic.  Read the current text and the full list of dropdown menu items, so you no longer need to keep duplicate strings in your expressions just to show the text from a dropdown menu.    previousKey() and nextKey() in JavaScript expressions    This Beta build introduces new expression methods to quickly get the keyframes or markers before or after any given time:  Property.previousKey(time): Returns the keyframe or marker at or before time. If none exist before time, returns the first keyframe or marker.  Property.nextKey(time): Returns the keyframe or marker after time. If time is after the last, returns the last keyframe or marker.    These new methods are only available in the JavaScript

From Premiere Pro beta, when I try to create a dynamic link, it creates a link, and it will create a comp in After Effects beta as well, but no clip, text comes from Premiere pro to after effcts beta

I just updated my AE beta (Nov 14) and now it's unable to open. dvastorage.dll not found. I can not Copy paste any dll file in the support files folder because it's requesting admin rights. Even my IT admin doesn't seem to have admin rights for this folder.

When linking Premiere with After Effects, the screen goes black in After Effects, and Premiere displays a red layer, indicating image loss.

When you reopen file with torus or sphere mesh with sbsar meaterial texture, taht meshes does not display materials. Cube mesh is applied and displayed correctly. To see material on the sphere or torus I have to manually change material to other and switch back to the initially applied.GPU 5070 Ti.

After two years since Spectrum 2 was announced, I expected to see something at the recent Adobe MAX, but that wasn't the case.A year ago some minor changes were introduced to AE, but I was wondering if in the coming months we will actually see a redesign based on Spectrum 2. Thanks team.

It's a minor thing, but often I have longer filenames and have been using comments to keep track of some things as well. However, if the text is too long, the source / file name gets an ellipsis at some point in the middle of the text, and comments are simply truncated (and sometimes it is not even obvious that this is happening). Making the columns wider helps, but then takes up valuable screen real estate.  Would be great to show a tooltip with the full text when the mouse hovers over these. It honestly is a feature that seems standard in many UIs, and I was expecting one to appear initially when I first started messing with After Effects.

On MacOS, After Effects Beta 25.5, After Effects 25.4, After Effects 25.3, 25.1 this issue seeems universal on my device. Downgrading to AE 24 or AE 25.0 seems to fix this problem.All settings are default. All plugins uninstalled. Shutter speed is 180 and -90. So this is not the issue at hand.No matter what I try, when in a composition, on any image file format (gif, jpeg, png, webp), after a keyframe is put down with motion blur, the motion blur persists and remains a constant. When clearing the cache, the issue goes away. The video renders without this motion blur error, so the error is unique to preview/cache.

We are excited to announce the public beta release of Windows on ARM native support in After Effects 25.6 build 7! We expect After Effects to run on all Qualcomm Snapdragon X-based laptops and tablets.We do have some known issues that differ from those in the emulated beta, and we will update as we resolve them: Lack of format support, mostly notably ProRes (supported as of 25.6 build 34), but also including ARRIRAW, SWF, GoPro CinePro, JPEG20000 in MXF, and WMV. These formats cannot be imported or exported. This means that the High Quality and High Quality with Alpha settings will default (with a helpful warning) to the uncompressed QuickTime codec. No import of MotionJPEG and MKV. No hardware accelerated playback & export of H.264 and HEVC in MP4. (Playback supported as of 25.6 build 66) Keylight and Mocha are not yet available (there is a warning about them being missing on launch). The links added refer to my old discussion and ideas posts on those topics.   I'd like to see OCIO platform being updated to the latest version which includes built-in ACES 2.0 configs. I also want to stress again that ACES 1.2 should really be removed. By the time OCIO support was released it was already superseeded by ACES 1.3 which uses formula based transforms and there is no reason to keep these dependencies (430Mb of LUT files) in the installation and the config exposed to the user.  If users for whatever reason still want to use a legacy config they can download it themselves. LINK   Especially with ACES 2.0 it would be quite stupid to have 3 configs of ACES 1 still in the software making it a list of 5 configs...
