Bug in Premiere Pro 25.2 — Alpha Channel Not Displaying and Settings Unavailable Dear Adobe Support Team, I am writing to report a technical issue in Adobe Premiere Pro version 25.2 (updated on April 2, 2025). The alpha channel is not being displayed for files with transparency, and several critical settings are unavailable, which prevents me from working effectively. I would like to understand the cause of this issue, how it can be resolved, and whether the program’s new AI features can be tested under these conditions to evaluate its overall utility for my workflow. Issue Description: Alpha Channel Not Displaying:I imported a PNG file with a transparent background into Premiere Pro, but the transparency is not displayed (the background appears black). The same issue occurs with MOV files exported from After Effects with an alpha channel (ProRes 4444, "RGB + Alpha" settings). In DaVinci Resolve, the alpha channel in these files is displayed correctly, confirming that the issue is
Mask edges are not visible while rulers are enabled within Premiere Pro 2026. After creating a simple rectangle mask using the new mask tool, the edges are not visible unless you have “Show Rulers” turned off in the View settings. I’m not sure why there would be this correlation so it must be a bug.Show Rulers turned onShow Rulers turned off
I’ve started to get black frames at the end of transitions. I know that there was this problem in Premiere 24, but I have never had this issue, but now I do in Premiere 26.0.2.It happens randomly and I could not define the circumstances. It happens bot with third party transitions and the native ones. I first saw the black frames in the Production crate transitions, so I emailed them but they could not reproduce it. Now it turns out that it can happen with Premiere’s own transitions like dissolve or ex-FilmImpact, Push for example (you will see it in the video below, that it happens with Push bit BorisFX transitions immediately have no issue, and thew issue comes back when I apply another Premiere Pro transition) It happens with normal clips, nested or time-remapped ones. Here’s how it looks: Steps to reproduce: start Premiere, work on a project, add a transition.Pr 26.0.2, Win11 25h2, RTX 4080 with latest NV drivers, i7-14700K
I use transcribe very regularly. A 1-3 minute clip usually takes about 15 seconds for Adobe to transcribe. I’m sitting here for 30 minutes and the bar isn’t moving. I tried starting my project over and it still gets so far and then just stops. The program isn’t frozen, the bar just stops moving and it says “Transcribing on device (30 minutes remaining)”. I can cancel the request and Premiere still functions like normal, so it’s not freezing or needs a forced shutdown. I also restarted my MacBook Pro, on current OS Sequoia 15.7.5 and running Premiere 26.2.0 (Build 6S).
Title just about sums up the issue I'm having. I can't scrub, drop videos into, play, or do just about anything in Premiere Pro without the screen going completely black for a few seconds.I've tried the following fixes- Updating Premiere Pro- Rolling Back Drivers- Updating Windows- Turning on GPU Acceleration I'm stumped, and seriously need to get back to work on a few projects. Here are my PC's specs:GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900KRAM: 64GB DDR4 at 2400mhz
I had an issue with Premiere not sending the projects to Encoder, then I noticed they both have a new update so unfortunately I updated them. Since then I am can't start either of them getting the error 0Xc0000142 message. Other adobe applications such as After Effects, Audition and Photoshop are still working fine. I have tried the following fixes depending on what I found on the internet: * Uninstall and reinstall the applications. * Turn off / Unplug my second monitor. (tried with both monitors). * Made sure windows is up to date. * Reverted to an older version of windows. * Disable all windows startup programs. * Turn off windows defender / enable premiere and adobe CC through it. My PC is strong enough for the CC applications, and I never had any issue with them while they are running, but I am noticing that everytime there is an update I am facing a new issue right afterwards. Any idea what I can do? I was working on a project I need to export ASAP!
When ever I try to speed ramp anything (high res, low res) I get unusable playback and have to keep re-rendering ‘in to out’ every time i make an adjustment to the speed ramp.I feel like many years ago I found a work around for this bug but I am unable to find anyone with a similar issue now. There are so many consistent bugs in the software that I’ve never seen addressed in the last decade and it’s no wonder people are moving to alternative software.
I commonly record R3D footage with 4 audio channels, and then before editing in the project panel, I isolate channels 3 and 4 (which contain the lav or boom feeds) by right clicking a clip and selecting “modify-->audio channels”. In 26.0.2, this feature has no factor, the audio I hear is always from source channel 1 and 2 (built in scratch mics), I never hear anything from Channels 3 or 4. This is true with new empty projects created within PP26 and with projects migrated forward from PP25.I luckily noticed this early on during a big project, reverted back to PP25.6.4 and where this is not an issue (I can hear all audio channels as expected, and remap the source clips channels when I want to).Mac Studio M4Max 64gb running Sequoia.
When using the Transform effect in Premiere Pro 26.0, adjusting the scale or position values causes the keyframe graph to reset to the default interpolation. Previously customized easing curves are lost, and I must manually recreate the graph each time.Issue:Transform effect keyframe interpolation resets when adjusting keyframe values.(IT HAPPENS TO EVERY SINGLE PROJECT IN THE NEW 26 VERSION, BOTH ON MY WINDOWS 11 AND ALSO ON MY MACBOOK M4)Steps to Reproduce:1. Apply the Transform effect to a clip2. Add two scale keyframes3. Adjust the interpolation graph (ease in/out)4. Modify the scale value on a keyframeResult:The interpolation graph resets to default and removes the custom curve.Expected Result:Adjusting keyframe values should preserve the existing interpolation.Additional Issue:Because the graph resets automatically, creating and using Transform presets is currently impossible. This behavior did not occur in Premiere Pro 25.5.Premiere Pro Version: 26.0Operating System: Windows 11GP
Looks like since the acquisition of Film Impact something broke…Motion tween is a (now) native Premiere Pro effect which adds automatic animation between scenes and works as a transition. The expected behavior - when you cut a clip in two halves and change, say, the position property a bit - is this:from video here: The effect dedicated page: https://www.filmimpact.com/premiere-pro-transitions/smart-tools/motion-tweenSo the effect should include the initial position of the clip which was moved upwards and out of the screen and give you the corresponding animation of the clip falling down. This is how it works in Pr 26.2:No matter what changes you make it will act as a dissolve transition. A couple of presets work but they do not include the initial position (the first part of the clip). Guys, you broke something… I don’t think a full bugreport is necessary here since it’s easily reproducible. Premiere 26.2, Win11 25h2, RTX 4080, all drivers up to date, same issue in an old\new project
Premiere Pro takes a very long time to relink all medias when opening a project over a NAS. It's in background but you can't really work on the project when medias are pending. On smaller projects it's managable, but on feature lenght documentaries, it can take from 30 minutes to an hour to be ready. The NAS is a QNAP TS-h1886XU, all the network is on 10gb, the NAS is connected to it's switch over a 20gb fiber link. I'm working on a Mac Studio M2 Max. I did a LAN test and I reach 5gbits in reading so it's fast. The network dosen't seems to be the problem. I also tried to copy all the project on a good old 4TB Hd, which is WAY slower than the network, and the project open fine. I really seems that something in premiere is not working correctly when the files are over a network volume. Is there something I can do on my side to speed up things? By the way the volume is mounted on the mac via SMB. Thanks for your help!
I was trying to edit graphic templates and its text on the timeline, but I can not move it, or enlarge it or click it etc. I have to restart it over and over again. It is so laggy that I have to do this every time when I attempt to change the text. This is so frustrating.
I have recently updated Premiere to its latest version, and since then I can’t seem to be able to export my timeline as an XML file (I need it to transfer it on Da Vinci). The Errors I get from the report are the following (they are in italian, so sorry for the inconvenience): Problema di conversione: Elemento sintetico (Video nero) non convertito, al suo posto viene utilizzato Slug.
I’ve got a vertical video I went to add into a sequence. Originally, I duplicated my original sequence (a different iteration of the video, no major differences), deleted the old clips, and then added in the new video. When I pulled it into the sequence, the audio only played back out of my left channel. I tried a fill right with left - no go. I tried panning the audio - no go. Note, I have data in the left and right channels on my clip. It’s just only playing one. I created a brand new sequence, and pulled in a clip, and told it to match to clip settings. Same problem - only the left channel was playing back. At this point, I’ve checked all my sequence settings to make sure they’re correct, double checked the audio settings on the clip to be stereo and mapped properly, and checked my headphones. The clip plays fine in the preview window. I also tried to remap my data channels to play both out of the right channel, and even that didn’t change anything. Still out of the left channel onl
If I ALT left mouse to duplicate and move an object on the timeline in Premiere 26.2, it crashes every time I try.
Since updating to 26.2.0 I have an issue where the anchor point will no longer appear on any clip in the program monitor and I have to restart the application to see it again. It happens repeatedly, but I’m unsure what triggers it. I am on Windows 11, using the NVIDIA Studio Driver version 595.79 A fix would be greatly appreciated!
I'm experiencing several bugs in the 'new' v4 panel and like many I regret updating. Shame really as it was a huge selling point and time saver. Running Premiere Pro V25.3 - PC w11. 4k Prorez LT 1. Uploading via the panel seems to be throttled, its painfully slow to upload(2mbit compared to 10+ on chrome/frameIO transfer) 2. If you cancel an upload via the panel the local file gets deleted, even if you specify a custom destination 3. Sequence markers don't upload with the sequence. This happens within the v4 Panel or with markers embedded into the file and manually (worked in v3) 4. No option to manually sync markers like with v3. or not sync markers, see below. 5. Sequence markers are getting modified/moved in my sequence when I load the frameIO comments panel on a previously uploaded export. eg: Swap 2 markers, update them, load the comments and the markers swap back. Sequence markers in premier need to be
I just updated to premiere version 26.2.0 (from 26.0.2). Everything was working fine before the update. NOW.... when I move any type of clip on my timeline (by dragging the clip), premiere crashes EVERY time. I did the preferences reset. Did not make a difference. This happens when I open an existing project OR when I create a new project. In the meantime, I downgraded back to 26.0.2 and everything works
Hi everyone,I hope someone can help me, because I'm going crazy...I have the latest version of Premiere Pro, 26.2.0 (build 65)My computer is a Ryzen 7 3800X with 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 5070 Studio 595.79, with SSDs, all running Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200. In theory, based on all the benchmarks I’ve run, the system should be more than capable of handling Premiere Pro quite well. Well, with any video, even at 1080p, I experience constant frame drops in the preview when I import it into my project. This makes it impossible for me to edit any video. I’ve tried everything—using proxies, clearing the media cache, reinstalling Premiere, reinstalling the NVIDIA drivers—nothing fixes it... What could be causing this? I don’t know what else to do... By the way, I’m a bit of a newbie at this, but I’m a computer scientist and I can handle complex tasks. Thanks in advance to everyone...
I am editing a documentary series and have a few thousand media assets in the project.Premiere used to start and then do a quick relink of media (maybe 5 minutes) - now it takes a few hours. I’m on Version 26.01 right now - and I think I’ve tried every update through to 26.2 and they all do it.I can’t try it on any of the Pr 25 versions because it won’t open the project file since it was most recently saved in 26.All the files are on an external drive, and this worked fine until now.I don’t even understand why it has to check the media at the start - why not just assume it is all there - and if it isn’t then that’s on the user to sort out and relink. Or at least give the option to bypass relinking at boot up.This essentially makes Premiere unusable for me, and if there isn’t a quick solution there’s no point continuing to pay for this programme.Has anyone solved this problem?
On opening Premiere, I get a normal screen showing my recent projects, but behind is it another screen with just the title and menu bars. Trying to open a recent project on the front screen takes a long time - over one minute (used to be seconds) or longer. I get no feedback after this click. Double-clicking the selected project does not change things. Windows Resource Monitor shows very little CPU activity or memory use, but a lot of Disk activity. If I then close the front window and open a recent project from the rear window, the project opens, but is slow, particularly on timeline play head movement. Export is unresponsive. I am unable to do my editing work as a result.
The problem appeared in the public version 26.2.0 after the last update: each timeline zoom (and sometimes selecting several clips on the timeline) causes the program to freeze for several minutes. More than that, during this freeze, the whole system stacks up, and we have to wait until Premiere starts working again. I saw this problem during the last months in Premiere Pro Beta, but now it’s in a public Premiere as well. What could be done to solve it?
Unbelievably frustrating to have to troubleshoot which tracks randomly mute themselves in the edit and having to rebuild the timeline in a different sequence to fix it.
Premiere is open, I click the icon in the Dock or CMD-TAB to it, and it doesn't become active. Premiere stays in front while the menu bar reflects that Finder is active. This doesn't happen when I use third party file viewers like Pathfinder. MacOS 13.6.9
