I used to be able to drag a point with the direct select tool and snap it to other points directly next to my selected point on the path it lives on. After recent updates, I can only snap my selected point to other points not directly next to my selected point. This isn’t a snap to grid issue or tolerance issue. Snapping works fine when dragging my point to any point that’s not directly next to my selected point.Additionally, other snapping that used to work fine now does not work at all. For example, snapping a point to a line… Something about the recent updates have jacked up snapping.

初心者です。illustratorでaiデータにてイラストを作成しました。イラストサイトへ投稿するため、別名保存→バージョンillustrator2020→オプションPDF互換ファイルを作成にチェック、圧縮を使用にチェック（チェックしないこともあります）。これで無事に投稿でき販売されているのですが、販売ページでイラストを見ると、左右にだけ余白ができています。右、左ともにオブジェクトが１つ置けるくらいスペースができています。イラストを仕上げ、aiデータを保存するときは、上下、左右ともに無駄な余白がないように作って保存しています。イラストのアートボードは、W4500px  H4500px、X2250px  Y2250pxで作成し保存しました。さらにコントリビューターで販売されているイラストを見ると、ここではイラストを作成したときのように、上下左右は無駄な余白はありません。ですが、寸法を見ると3873×3873になっています。4500px×4500pxで作っているのですが、大きさが変わってしまったのでしょうか。左右に余白ができるのもこの寸法と関係しているのでしょうか。イラスト作成時の設定が間違っているのか原因がわかりません。調べましたがわからないので質問させてください。よろしくお願いします。  

Hey guys!I try to use AI for Site plans and analysis for my college. So I decided to use the free source platform OpenStreetMap for data, after I watched a couple videos on youtoube. However, If I want to open the Layers in this OSM PDF, my Illustrator simlpy freezes and doesnt return back to functionality, unlike in the videos Ive seen.Opening the same PDF’s layers in Inkscape works just fine, without any trouble.But I want to use Illustrator thanks to its many options, but its hard when it crashes all the time :(My Graphicscard is a RTX 4070TI And I have 32gb of ram, as well as enough space on my drives.I am really out of any ideas on what to do. I could even try to send a screencapture video.Thanks in advance, if anyone could help me!

Why is my pen tool cursor an X? Caps lock is OFF and precise cursor is OFF. Both of these are off. Cursor is still an X.I reset all my preferences to see if it would fix this but it hasn't. Still an X.

Is there any way to remove the GenAI creation fields from Illustrator’s home screen? It’s just in the way. It’s frustrating to now have to scroll past a massive AI box plus featured ads before I can properly see my recent files list. Either give me an option to hide AI and featured items or at least put them below my recents. They shouldn’t be taking up the screen like this.  

I tried resizing my artboard to match my object's size and it seems they don't match.My square object is 50 px x 50 px, and the arboard size is 60 px x 60 px. How to solve this? I didn’t struggle with this issue before.Attaching the evidence. Thanks for replying and sharing your solutions

white box shows when open in AI and cant get rid of it , does not show on PDF proof or does not show on clients computer that sent me the file please help

Hello,For several weeks now, I've been experiencing a recurring issue in Illustrator.Whenever I duplicate a layer group, the original layer group gets completely modified.To illustrate:I'm drawing a face, so I have a group called "Face" containing several subfolders/layers (Nose, Mouth, Eyes, Shadows, Highlights, etc.). When I duplicate this group to use it for an alternative version of the same character within the same document (using the Alt/Option key and dragging the layer into a folder above), the original group,the source one (including all its layers) suddenly changes to a single color.I've encountered this issue multiple times over the past few weeks. Recently, after editing the duplicated group ("Face 2"), I went back to the original group and everything had turned green. I had to redraw everything from scratch.It's becoming a nightmare, and this problem has been occurring repeatedly for several weeks on my end. Any solution please?

I have a Mac M1 Pro with 32GB Ram and 1 TB SSD (300 GB available) and Tahoe 26.5. When I open Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time, the CPU ramps up almost to the max and the fans turn on. Working in either apps becomes very sluggish and unresponsive, even with small and simple files. When I pair Photoshop with any other Adobe app, the problem doesn’t occur, only in combination with Illustrator. So the latter seems to be the culprit. This is very frustrating, because I need to keep several apps open for my kind of projects. Can anyone help me here please?

Whenever I open a PDF-file in Illustrator, illustrator automatically creates an ai-file with same name. How can I stop this behaviour? It started after installing 30.5 (or something)

The Vector concept isn't working (AI 30.5.1 (64-bit, Windows 11); it throws an error (even though my internet connection is stable). And it deducts points for every failed attempt. Yesterday morning, one image was generated successfully, but every subsequent attempt yielded the same result—nothing—yet the points were still deducted.

I am having some issues trying to select objects that only have an outline. sometimes it registers the selection and sometimes I can click forever without it selecting the object. I can also marquee the selection but then when I go to click move it doesnt work. I have increased the tolerance with no luck. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have had no formal training with Illustrator, but I use it almost every day.When preparing new graphics that will be used across many formats -- what size artboard should I use in relation to the graphic size?If I have a 40x40 pixel graphic with a 2 pixel stroke it could potentially be a 44x44, but Illustrator will still read it as 40x40. Meaning if the artboard is 40x40 it will not actually export the completed graphic when I export using artboards.Is there a professional/industry standard rule of them for setting artboard sizes? I’ve never seen any proper training about preparing files for use across different formats and dimensions.Should I set the artboard size after I create my graphic and size the artboard manually?

The illustrator is lag and take some good time to do anything.I`m trying understand if this start after update the Illustrator or was a windows 11 update, Windows Insider program is active, version 25H2 v.26200.8457 is installed.Someone has the same problem?Is there something to fix it? 

A funny but great thing used to happen when I press the spacebar while using gradient tool in older versions of Illustrator. Whenever I pressed the spacebar, the gradient handle bar used to fit the shape.  

Whilst using illustrator on iMac machine keeps restarting continuously until I quit app on startup. All apps and os are up to date. Its driving me insane

I need a version of Illustrator that is no longer available through the “Other Versions” option in the Creative Cloud program. I need v28 because a critical plugin I use no longer supports v29 or v30. Google searches tells me that support can provide downloads for older versions.

I don’t know if this is even possible to calculate somehow, but maybe someone can help. If i have a 200ppi image in a file, and i want it to keep the size, but have 150 ppi, is there a way to calculate what ppi i have to use for rasterizing? I am aware that rasterizing an image from 200 ppi to 150 ppi will not give out the same result as rasterizing a vector object to 150 ppi. Again, for exampleVector object > rasterize 150 ppi > object with certain “pixel density” 200 ppi image > rasterise ? ppi > object with same pixel density as option 1 (150 ppi) < is this even possible?  

When I log into my Adobe account, I subscribe to Illustrator for iPad and when I logged in all my files have disappeared, please help

Horrible lagging in illustrator. Impossible to get any work done, can't move any objects without it buffering . Tries to click any item and there is no response from illustrator. I uninstall the 30.0 version and reinstalled the 29 versions and it doesn't fix anything. Was working completely perfectly yesterday. Attached video below. MAC(2022)M2, 16GB RAM MacOS 15.6.1 (24G90) 

Viewport glitches on the border of the screen, weird black or white artifacts. Looks like there is some delay of redrawing in the viewport. It appears in every document, when moving with hand, zooming in/out. It is very annoying for the workflow. I´m posting a video how the glitch look like.When switch to CPU, artifacts are gone, but it doesn´t solve the core of the problem, also you cannot use dynamic zoom with the CPU...black rectangle glitch on the border of the viewport when zooming, movingIllustrator version 30.4.Nvidia rtx 5080595.79 studio driver 

This dialogue window pops up every time I launch Adobe Illustrator. I’m not sure how to fix it—I uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. What is ScribbleUI.aip? Is it possible to remove it? If so, how?
