Photoshop

Been using current Photography workspace for some time now, but for some reason, this morning Jan 3 2025 it has changed. I've lost a lot of Actions, all the colour codes for the Actions buttons have turned grey. how do I get everything back to how I like it? My system is Windows 11, latest version.

Hi I had the macOS error "your system has used all the memory allocated to applications" a few times this week when using the lasso selector for picture cropping in Photoshop. Sometimes I needed to crash Photoshop and restart the computer (in case of side effects) before working on the same pictures. It seems like selecting areas in a picture use a lot of memory and Photoshop don't free it, even after closing the picture properly. 2 problems :- having the error and having to restart from zero after restarting Photoshop- nothing save a selection to restore it by opening the picture again (or at least the software), preventing us to start from scratch and redo the same work for a random result (crash or not crash) I join a screen capture of the problem showing the Finder window suggesting to close a software and saying Photoshop is not responding, and a screen capture of the same dialog box after closing the picture a time I could without closing the software sho

Not sure when this started, but I think it's fairly recent:  Even with the "Delete Cropped Pixels" box checked, Photoshop does *not* delete the unwanted pixels. This causes a noticeable slowdown in my work doing photo enhancements.  I often scan multiple photos at a time in high resolution then crop them into individual files.  With PS now *not* deleting the pixels upon cropping, every adjustment I apply is applied to the size of the original large scan, not to the smaller single-photo file like I want.  PSD file sizes are much larger, too, of course. Is there somehow to get PS to revert to the correct action to delete everything but what's inside the Crop tool bounds when "Delete Cropped Pixels" is selected?

Is this a Windows 11 glitch or is it PS?I am trying to change the Interface font size for my menu bar as well as in Preferences on Adobe PS. I have tried to delete the Adobe font cache but cannot, the message being that it is being used in dwm.exe. Preferences>Interface>Presentation and selecting UI Font Size:Large and Scale UI to font + a reboot changes nothing. The font size in my menu bar - File, Edit, Image, etc - remains miniscule. It does, however, change the font size in the drop-down menus, under those headings. Hi!While typing text in the generative fill window, entering the Polish letter "ą" (right alt+a) highlights the entire text. The same thing happens when I use this character to rename a layer. This issue does not occur when using a text box on the graphic while typing text. What could be causing this problem and how to solve it?

I have an issue with Photoshop. Previously, when switching between screens, I would click once on the top panel of Photoshop to activate it. Now, something has changed—when I click once, it switches from fullscreen mode to windowed mode. Previously, I had to double-click quickly to change the mode, but now a single click is enough.I thought it might be a new feature in Windows 11, but this behavior doesn't happen with other programs. I would like to disable this function as it is very inconvenient for me.

We have this marketing person running CC PS 25.12.0 on a Mac Studio with 32 GB RAM and macOS Sonoma 14.7.1. She gets these hang ups after doing one or some actions. From designer: "my photoshop isn't working again. I am unable to do any action after I open the application and make one more, and then after that it just won't do anything - it doesnt freeze, it just wont let me click on anything, even in the finder bar at the top, it wont let me close out of the program either - I have to keep force quitting out of the app."I have totally uninstalled CC and reinstalled from scratch. She has no settings to save so there are preferences introduced back in. Today I just did the same thing again - uninstall/reinstall. And she is working again. She is now running PS 2025 version.This all seemed to happen after I upgraded the Mac to 14.7.1 Sonoma in order for her to use the latest version of PS. Running out of ideas here. Any thoughts? 

For a long time now (I think years, honestly), Photoshop has render issues when I edit documents that have multiple artboards. I use the bloat and pucker tool quite a bit and today the keyboard shortcut for that isn't working.Anyone else seeing this?

Since I updated to OS Sierra, for some odd reason the brush cursor in Photoshop has stopped showing up. It functions (I can paint with it), but I can't see it. At all. I see the results of using it, but not the thing itself. No, my caps lock is NOT on. I've tried toggling it on and off just to play with it, but no matter what I do the cursor doesn't show. No matter what preference I select, it doesn't show. It flickers briefly if I zoom in and out, but it doesn't stick around. I'm using an iMac, all standard stuff it came with, Apple keyboard, no tablet...no reason for this that I can see. I haven't changed anything other than the OS update which I'll admit can be a huge deal. I can't figure out what broke and, more importantly, how do I fix it? Hi all! I encountered this issue and have tried all ways I can think of but none of it resolves the problem. My artwork are damaged and glitched when I open my project file today. Anybody can help??? I have tried: restarting Photoshop, restarting the computer, export artboards and they all look the same. This is very frustrating and I couldn't find anybody who experienced a similar issue. Any experts can tell what're the possible causes? My artwork is not even complicated...Shouldn't use Photoshop to create multiple artboards.... 

After opening a  file（psd）, it will repeatedly create multiple temporary files until the temporary drive is filled. Then an error message shows that the file cannot be opened because the temporary storage drive is full.1. Only one file has this issue, while the other files can be opened normally2. The temporary storage disk has sufficient spaceMay I ask how to solve this problem？

I have never had an issue ever with PS.  The past few days it has been crashing while trying to open.  I need it to work.  Macbook Pro M3 Max.  I've included the logs.  Can someone tell me whats going on?  I uninstalled PS and Creative Cloud App already and reinstalled.  That didn't fix.     (Crash report moved to a text file attached with the post to reduce the size)

At some point, years ago, I had my preferences set to scale layer effects by default (somehow) when using free transform. It's been like this for me for years and years and years. I know this, because I truly can't remember the last time I had to change a stroke weight after scaling something down. Now, since my most recent update, it's not like that anymore. And when I google it, I feel like I'm being punked. Anyone out here have thoughts on this? (NOTE: I am aware of "Layer > Layer Styles > Scale Effects", but this opens the percent scale dialog and I'm talking --- I could free transform anything with strokes, shadows, glows, etc. and they scaled with the object. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

I purchased a Nik software update yesterday. When I put in the Nik key code, it then asks for my Photoshop password. The password is not accepted. I changed the password. Nope. I restarted my computer. Nope. I chatted with Adobe online support. Nope. Anyone have any other thoughts?

I tend to save some new (empty) documents I creat  and use often (in a certain format) in PS. For a few days I can re-open them using the save tab in the 'open a new document' screen. But then after a few days  when I start PS all my saved documents are gone. All I see is the default photoshop size 16x12cm and my saved folder is empty. I have no idea why this happens, should I change something in my settings? 

I've used this features 3 times a year for a decade.EVERY TIME it baffles me.I did coding at college and have worked in/around tech all my life, but the ability to map simple data sets to a file an output it reminds me of text driven computer games.HOW is Adobe running around, lauding its Ai - while processes like this still need 'salt thrown over the left shoulder' and the 'Wind to be blowing from the East'.I won't get into the 'output naming' limitations. Rant over... Does anyone from Adobe ever read these posts?I really think they should work on this are a- it can be a useful time-saving tool - when it decides to 'play ball'. 

I have an iMac using OSMojave 10.14.6. Until I updated the program, I could right click on an image in the Photos library and send to Photoshop to edit. Now I get the above message. Please help.

How did this happen!The crop option used to be the default when I opened a photo in Photoshop. Now it is no longer on the toolbar and when I go to select it from the drop down menu, it's greyed out!I'm using MacOS Big Sur 11.4 - Photoshop 23.4.1Please help! 

Hi!  My son and I created a stop motion animation video with Adobe BUT cannot get it to send to his teachers email!  It sends but pops up as just one of the pics.  How do you send the video so he can play it for class?

I'm having trouble with getting a tapered end to a brush stroke. I have a pen but the pen pressure doesn't do anything. No matter how light or hard I press the end always has a round end. I have tried resetting the tools, changing settings in shape dynamics or brush tip shape; nothing works. I don't understand what's going on, do I have to reinstall the program or did I just miss a key setting?
