Hello all! I've spent the past two days pulling my hair on this issue:I have a reasonably powerful laptop (i9 from 2020 and RTX 2070, 32GB of ram, hundreds of GB on scratch disk) and Photoshop generally runs extremely well, except when meta Quest Link (the VR headset app) is installed on my computer. If Meta Quest is installed, even when photoshop is the only thing running, with all Oculus Services turned off in System Configuration, Photoshop is extremely laggy with the most basic of tasks (round brush on a 2k canvas), and draws 100% CPU and GPU for that. It's a bummer since I use both to create images and CG assets, and would very much like to have them both live together happily.Everything was working fine for the past 3 years, and only since last week has this issue popped up.Ive tried: Clean windows installTested every photoshop version available through CCEvery step detailed here https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.htmlEvery co
This is a PSA since I do graphic design professionally and the past 2 days have been unproductive while I troubleshoot very poor photoshop performance. The short version is that my laptop has an rtx 4070 in it and intel integrated graphics, pretty standard setup. Photoshop can see and correctly selects the 4070, but looking at the utilization, it's not being used at all. Performance was terrible and hardly usable.I tried many things to track down the issue but I finally did. After popping into Illustrator and looking at the list of GPUs in the performance tab I noticed a new display adapter:Meta Virtual Monitorthis is installed when using the quests remote desktop or potentially horizon workrooms. It was installed on my computer without me knowing and was confusing photoshop causing poor performance. Even after everything I did to force my dedicated gpu in photoshop it refused to use it when this display adapter was active.Disabling it in device manager fixed the issue. I hope this help
I wanted to share a fix in case it helps others, because this issue had me stuck for nearly a month.Photoshop was crashing instantly whenever I tried to open a file (JPG, PSD, TIFF) on Windows 11. Disabling GPU acceleration, resetting preferences, and reinstalling Photoshop did not resolve it.I copied the full Photoshop crash report into ChatGPT to help interpret what was happening. The crash log consistently pointed to a DirectX 12 adapter issue during file open, specifically related to a virtual display driver installed with Meta Quest / Oculus. In my case, the culprit was Meta Virtual Monitor. What resolved it:I uninstalled the Meta Quest / Oculus software from Windows Apps, then opened Device Manager, enabled “Show hidden devices,” and removed the Meta Virtual Monitor entry under Display adapters (making sure the driver was removed). After rebooting, Photoshop opened files normally and has been stable since. Posting this here in case anyone else is experiencing unexplained crashes o

Hi, I am trying to make repeating shapes from this porcupine shape. This is just a poorly done example I tried making in photoshop using the stroke blending option. This might be something that can only be done in Illustrator, I am not sure. I'd like to take the original shape of the porcupine and make it 3% bigger everytime but stay conformed to the shape. It's easy to do with a circle or square (using actions in photoshop) but not with an irregular shape like this. I'd like for each shape to be its own layer so I can change the color and opacity. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Neutral filters not downloading Pshop 26 on my mac.
This is what I get for typing? What is this???How can I just type?
Hi, My name is Soumitra Dutta an entrepreneur, Author & photographer born in independent India. I’m hitting the 'Scratch Disks are Full' error and I'm stuck. I've tried restarting, but the error persists. Here are my specs and what I've tried so far:App & Version: Photoshop 26.1OS: Windows 11 (or macOS 15.2)Hardware: 16GB RAM, 512GB Internal SSD.Current Disk Space: My C: drive shows 45GB free, but Photoshop still won't let me [open a file / use a filter].What I've tried: I went to Preferences > Scratch Disks, and my main drive is checked. I also tried clearing my 'Purge All' cache, but it didn't help.
When it works fineerror in displayGuys, Do anyone know how to fix the icons back to normal? I don't know what happened but my icon all appears to be very solid right now.
The latest version of Photoshop removes the option to save to the default location locally, FORCING us to see the Save To Cloud dialog every single time we create a file. The fact is that the greedy aging boomer fascists at Adobe see the writing on the wall, that their monoliths are crumbling like sand castles, and this is just a pathetic death rattle.
Hello fellow sufferers!how do i ..... get rid of "select subject remove background" box photoshop 2026 it is in front of image i am editing and wont move!thanks
Hi I'm using Photoshop and want to Focus stack four images. The videos I have watched have started with sugestion to use Auto aline images. I Found align buttons but not auto line. The next step was to Blend images. I cannot fine a blend button . One suggestion was to find this in the Multilayer option, however I cannot find that either. Is there a current video that explains how to focus stack images.
A year ago, I made a two-up image to print on a large sheet because the image is popular. I did some editing on it today while it was still in Frame mode. Now I can't rotate it or isolate the image because I can't remember how to get it out of frame mode. Been too long, I guess. I've copied the image to clipboard and pasted it on a new canvas, but it is carrying the Frame-ness with it. How do I get it out of Frame mode, with edits intact?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,WV
So, to start; here are my specs: Current version of PhotoshopWindows 1164GB DDR4 RAM at 2666mhzIntel i7 9700KEVGA 2070 SuperAnd the important pieces:A Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2tb with 1.3tb of open space (this is the drive photoshop is installed to)A backup SATA SSD 500gb with full space openI also have other backup drives, but they don't have the speeds needed for scratching. For the better part of 2 years I cannot get my allocated scratch disk space above 41.6gb.I just recently wiped every Adobe program and temp files to do a fresh install of the Creative Cloud and all apps that I use. This didn't fix anything. When messing with performance, like increasing RAM percentage, Cache Levels, reducing History States; nothing changes. When telling Photoshop to just use my 500gb SATA SSD, it still only uses 41.6gb. I'm very lost with this, so I'm really hoping someone can finally help me figure this out.
Hello Everyone, My name is Soumitra Dutta, oxford based an entrepreneur, Author & Photographer. Hi everyone, We're excited to announce a new Adobe Community experience is coming this January. A little bit about the update:The new experience will be simpler to navigate, make it easier to connect with other creatives and Adobe experts, and will give you clearer ways to share feature ideas, enhancement requests, and bug reports—with greater visibility into their status with our product teams. In the meantime: Adobe Community will remain active. Keep using it as usual—there will be no interruption in access. In fact, you’ll notice even more Adobe Experts on deck to provide faster responses before, during, and after the update. No existing content will be lost in the update. Every single post, reply, solution, feature request, and bug report you’ve made will be transferred to the new experience. You won't need to recreate anything. Existing content will reappear in two phases. When we launch the new community, all posts created on or before November 16 will be there from day one. Aft
While developing a UXP Plugin I required to add some keyboard shortcuts. I used the correct setup described in the manifest recommendations (this is the Adobe exmaple, not my usage):"shortcut": {"mac": "Cmd+Shift+P","win": "Ctrl+Shift+P"}However, when called they don't work. Any clues to what I am doing wrong?
I am trying to set up a mask for a lenticular image. The resolution of the Photoshop document is 1440 to match the output resolution of my printer.I create a 4px by 6" shape that I need duplicated every 28 pixels for the full 4".In Illustrator, this is no problem, but forget it if you think you can paste from Illustrator to Photoshop. How can I get Photoshop to repeat this 4px shape every 28 px? It has to be precise. And before anyone gets on about lenticular lenses not being exactly 60 lenticules/inch, I am well aware of this. By taking the measured lenticules from the pitch test using the same printer, I find that the actual lenticule size is 60.189 so when I make the mask for 4px--that assumes 60 screen. Then I just print at 60/60.189 % and the lenticules come out correct.
Perchè se in photoshop creo una selezione del cielo e la salvo come canale me la salva invertita ?
Thanks to everyone who took part in our previous 'Lucky New Year' challenge. There were some great ideas and very cleverly put together images. This week, in world of constant change, I thought we might take a trip to this timeless beach at Balnakeil in north-west Scotland. In reality, of course, with any sandy beach it too is constantly changing. So, what can you make with it? The “rules”: Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry. Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc. Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. I see there are a few threads similar to this, so I have the same problem. I am unable to deactivate PS CS5.1 from the old PC. I keep getting a "connect to the internet" error message. I just spent over 50 minutes on the phone with someone from Adobe and a remote session. I saw her attempt to deactivate it and turn off the firewalls, still no luck. Obviously the internet is working, if there was a remote session. There have been 2 installations, but I am no longer able to access 1 of the 2 prior computers. It's dead. I was able to download my purchased copy of CS5.1, and it installed fine on my W11 desktop, and it worked- for a short time. It no longer goes past the register window. Obviously, the Adobe system is working on the new installation end, but I am unable to deactivate. Intended issue? Apparently, the deactivation has to be done from the local device. Anyone have any insight to this? Other than they want me to subscribe? Thanks
Hello. I have a new computer and monitors. If I launch Photoshop from within Lightroom (i.e. right-click on the image in LR then select <Edit in Photoshop 2026>), Photoshop launches and is maximized as it should be on my monitor and the image fits on the screen. After I close that image and return to LR, the next time I select an image from within LR and select <Edit in Photoshop 2026>, Photoshop is "too big" and I have to select the upper corner square to Maximize PS then I have tell Photoshop to fit the image on the screen. This ONLY happens when PS remains running. If I completely exit PS, the next time I open it from within LR, everything is fine. Any suggestions? Thank you
My laptop is less than a year old and is set up to run PS.I am updated on Windows 11.I'm running PS v26After it applies the Neural filter, it immediately shuts down PS, with no save. I have removed some of the larger files to an external, and I have a lot of space on my PC.I will run a cleanup on the laptop after posting this, but I have no expectations that it will improve the situation. Thoughts?
