 Relight is a new Generative AI feature in Photoshop Desktop that lets you add up to 3 interactive, non-destructive lights and adjust their position, intensity, color, and diffusion (Beta version: 27.12.0 20260927.m.3691 available on 9/28/26). Relight feature with default light added in low-res preview mode. Relight feature with 2 lights added. Select done to commit (30 credits) and upscale.HOW TO TEST Update and launch the latest Beta Build (Version: 27.10.0 202600802.m.3625) → have an active Internet connection Open or place an image Select an unlocked Pixel, Rotate Object, or Smart Object layer. Go to the app Layer menu > New Relight layer... Note you can also go to the Layers Panel flyout menu New Relight layer…   A new default (white) light will be added in the middle of the image. You can click and drag the light around on the canvas (inside or outside the image - above the bottom edge of the image). Relight removes the existing lighting in the image and re-creates its own lighting. If you turn off all the lights, you're left with the remaining ambient or original light. Turning a light on/off enables/disables that light’s contribution, just like turning the lights on/off in a room. Additionally, a "Relight Layer" has been created in the Layer Panel, leaving the original pixels untouched.     Note while adjusting lights, you are in a low-resolution preview mode.  Select the circle light icon on the new Relight Contextual Task Bar or Properties panel to change the color or adjust any of the light properties. Note, you must have at least one light, and you can add a maximum of three lights. You can delete lights and/or turn their visibility off using the "eye" icon in the context bar or the properties panel.   Add more lights with the "Add lights" button. When finished updating the lights, select Done. This generates the final relight result at full input image resolution. The Relight feature costs 30 credits everytime the Done button is selected. Check your Generative Credits balance by selecting the sparkle icon in the Contextual Task bar, Properties Panel or Options Bar. Edit by selecting the layer > "Edit Relighting" or Layer > "Edit Relight Layer..." The Relight feature supports Actions and scripting. Let us know what your think!

Hey everyone, A few updates are landing in Object Masking ahead of the next release. Here's what's changing.  Choose your tracking quality: Better Quality vs. Faster Today, tracking runs on a model which is tuned for speed. It does a solid job in the common case, but mask detail is capped by its resolution, and it can also lose the subject in longer clips and through occlusion. We've built a new tracking model to close both of those gaps. Better Quality tracks at a higher mask resolution than Faster, which shows up as real gains in mask detail and edge quality, especially on hair, fur, and fine edges. It also adds long-term memory, which should meaningfully help tracking hold onto the subject through occlusion and in longer clips. The tradeoff: the higher resolution makes Better Quality slower, noticeably so on some systems. So we're giving you the choice to select tracker of your choice. You'll see two tracking quality options:  Faster: This is the default tracker, today's tracking resolution and speed. Same behavior you already know. Better Quality: Newer, higher-resolution tracking, fewer jagged edges, more detail, better occlusion handling.  To switch to Better Quality, you'll find a choice in the Effect Controls Panel and the Properties panel, under the settings/gear icon next to the tracker. It's set per mask, so you can mix Better Quality and Faster across masks in the same project. While a mask is tracking, you'll also see a quick tip letting you know which quality you're using, so you're never left wondering why a track took longer or came out softer than expected.  Tracker Quality is available in Settings cog under Tracker in Properties Panel Tracker Quality is available in wrench menu under Tracker in Effects Control Panel Object Mask data on disk adds up fast- here's what we're doing about it Right now Object mask storage has a large footprint and there's no way to bring it down once it's there. Two recent changes address this directly.  Reduction in mask size: Newly created masks are getting significantly smaller on disk. In our own testing, storage dropped by roughly 4 to 7.5 times depending on the clip and tracking mode, with the biggest reduction on 4K/UHD footage. Tracking speed and mask quality are unaffected. This change applies to masks created after this feature ships. Note: Masks you've already created won't shrink retroactively; re-track the masks to use the new features. Masks Cleanup: Mask files from old selections and superseded tracks currently just sit on disk even if they're no longer referenced, quietly eating space over the life of a project. Now, when you close a project, Premiere automatically deletes any Object Mask files of newly created masks, that are no longer referenced by the project. In testing, this recovered roughly half of the disk space a project's mask data was taking up. Note: This covers masks tracked after this feature ships. Tracking data from before the update won't be swept up by cleanup. Between smaller masks and automatic cleanup, Object Mask storage should stop being something you have to think about going forward.  Smooth Mask outlines Sharp Masks and other vector masks like Ellipse and Rectangle show an outline when selected: dotted if the mask is unassigned, solid once it's applied to an effect. Smooth Mask never had this, since by definition it's a greyscale mask with a soft, indeterminate fringe rather than a hard boundary. There wasn't a clean line to draw, and many folks reached out with the feedback that it was always confusing to tell if the Smooth Mask was selected or not. Smooth Mask now shows the same outline behavior as every other mask type: dotted when unassigned, solid when assigned to an effect, visible on selection either way. Selecting and identifying a Smooth Mask in your project should now feel consistent with every other mask type in Premiere.  Try these out and let us know how it goes, especially on longer or more demanding footage. Editors can now generate images in the context they need it. They can describe the image they need, guide the results further using reference frames pulled from their own footage, and generate images that match the look, subject, or composition already established in their edit all using Adobe Firefly or supported partner models. Select a range, choose your model, add optional reference frames, describe what you want, and Premiere inserts the generated image into your sequence.  Generating Images Select the Generative Media Tool from the Toolbar   Drag across any video track or double click a gap to select the duration you want to generate.      Select your model, select any reference images, enter your prompt and generate.   The Generative task bar supports Adobe Firefly Image Models and Partner models. The default model on the Generative task bar for Generate Image is Gemini 3.1 (Nano Banana 2)You can use multiple reference frames per generation. Input frames can be sampled from the Program Monitor, Source Monitor, or Project Panel. We recommend using reference frames for more accurate results.    The eyedropper lets you input frames for reference from the program monitor, the source monitor or from the project panel.         Enter your prompt, check your settings and click generate. The Generative task bar displays the settings used for generation, including resolution and aspect ratio. Premiere automatically selects the closest model settings that match your sequence wherever possible.       You can easily turn that image into a video by switching to “Generate Video” from the tool dropdown. This is great if you want to make sure the output is what you want via an image before generating a video.   Once on “Generate Video” you’ll see that the image you generated has already been added as a reference frame. You can edit your prompt from here, check your settings and click generate.        Content that includes AI-generated media or has been edited using generative AI tools will automatically receive Content Credentials at export to indicate the use of generative AI.    Have some feedback or questions? Rolling out now in the After Effects Beta, starting with CCD Beta build 27.0.044 Adobe Stock panel in After Effects (Beta)What is it?We're excited to share that the Adobe Stock panel is now available in After Effects (Beta). Search the full Adobe Stock library, preview assets, and bring them straight into your project without ever leaving After Effects. What's New?Until now, getting Stock content into an After Effects project meant using the Libraries panel with Adobe Stock selected as a sub-category and searching for the required assets or jumping out to your browser, downloading, and importing by hand. The new Stock panel with a better search experience now brings that whole loop inside the app. Find what you need, add it to your project, and it downloads and lands right in your Project panel, ready to use. You can also choose where downloaded assets are saved from the Project Settings in the new Scratch Disk tab, so they stay organized alongside the rest of your footage. Caveat: All images, videos, and audio files are downloaded to the project panel. Templates such as .aet and .mogrt files are downloaded to your scratch disk path and will be available for import into the project. We are improving this experience in the near future. See the note below.Set your stock download preferences in the Project Settings > Scratch Disks What Can You Search for and Download?This panel covers the content in Adobe Stock that motion designers actually reach for and allows for them to be downloaded (per the licensing needs) and used in After Effects.Templates Motion Graphics templates (.mogrt): Customizable graphics templates you can open and edit right in After Effects. We are introducing Analyzer in Acrobat, a new document intelligence capability for enterprise teams. It takes on work that is still manual across most business functions: reading large volumes of documents to find complex information in each one. Accounting and FP&A teams comb customer contracts for revenue-recognition and booking triggers, procurement operations pull commercial terms from vendor agreements and statements of work to benchmark rates, and information security clears software vendors against compliance reports. The common thread: extracting structured information from unstructured documents to make business decisions.These are business-critical tasks, and doing them manually forces a compromise. The work stays slow and expensive, or teams review only a sample and accept risk in everything they didn’t read. Often, it’s both. How Analyzer solves this.Analyzer is a new enterprise capability in Acrobat Studio. It uses generative AI to turn collections of complex unstructured documents into structured data. It helps teams analyze contracts, statements of work, compliance documents, and more at scale, so leaders can move from manual review to faster, better-informed decisions.Here’s how it works:Bring thousands of documents: Add collections of contracts, vendor agreements, statements of work, compliance reports, invoices, call transcripts, and other business documents as PDFs, scans, or Microsoft Word and Excel files through the user interface, REST API, or SharePoint sync. Define extractions once, then apply them across the collection: Describe in plain language what information or insights to pull from each document, and Analyzer extracts it from every document in the collection. Examples include financial terms, legal or commercial clauses, policy language, or judgment calls such as whether a vendor’s controls meet a requirement. Get structured output with citations: Analyzer returns results as structured data you can review in the UI. Every extracted value from every document carries a numbered citation that links back to the source passage, so a reviewer can read the surrounding context and confirm the result. Before applying a definition across a full collection, you can test it on a sample set and refine it to more reliably find what you need. Your team stays in control of the result. Automate downstream workflows: Push extracted data into your ERP, CRM, CLM, and other systems of record via the REST API, or export it to CSV to feed your BI tools and data warehouse. Enable business ownership while maintaining governance: Business teams can set up and manage their own extractions and review workflows. IT maintains administrative control, audit logs, and role-based access.What structured data lets you do.Structured, cited data changes what a team can do with a document collection:Automate document review at scale: Apply the same criteria to every document rather than a sample, so the terms that matter get checked across the whole population. Enrich systems of record: Structured values flow straight into ERP, CRM, and procurement systems that teams used to populate by hand. Answer portfolio-level questions: Query the whole collection like a database: find every vendor agreement with EU data residency, or every contract that auto-renews, without opening a file.Where enterprise teams put Analyzer to work.Analyzer is useful across the enterprise. Here are a few examples:Finance and accounting: Revenue assurance and FP&A analysts can review every executed contract for revenue-impacting terms instead of a sample, with auditor-ready cited extractions that shorten the close cycle and cut reporting and forecasting risk. Procurement: Vendor management teams can automate extraction of key information, terms, and clauses from vendor agreements and statements of work to enable portfolio-level tracking of auto-renewals, SLAs, inflation adjustments, reporting requirements, and more. Sales operations: Renewals and customer success teams turn a portfolio of customer agreements into a risk view that surfaces terms like termination options and renewal conditions, so they can prioritize at-risk accounts and intervene before a renewal event without having to review contracts one by one. IT and information security: InfoSec can automate the completion of security questionnaires across hundreds of vendor compliance reports a year, improving vendor-onboarding SLAs without adding headcount. M&A: Corporate development teams analyze a target's full contract portfolio for key terms, obligations, and risk, so due diligence that once took weeks is done in a fraction of the time. Post-M&A integration teams leverage the same visibility to make informed decisions for systems and process-integration. Plugin developers should review and update any plugins that aren't Sandbox-compatible before then, or they may stop working once the disable option is removed—macOS October 2026; Windows December 2026. As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting our customers, we are completing the rollout of temporary option — a security technology that isolates Acrobat and Reader from the rest of the system, known as App Sandbox on macOS and Protected Mode on Windows — as the required, standard experience for Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader, for all users and all third-party plugins.  BackgroundIn September 2024, we introduced Sandbox support for Acrobat and Reader on macOS, working closely with customers and plugin developers to ensure compatibility. Sandbox mode has since rolled out successfully and is enabled by default on macOS today.On Windows, Protected Mode (Sandbox) is already enabled by default for all users.In both cases, a temporary option to disable Sandbox mode has remained available, giving customers and plugin developers time to validate and update their integrations. What's changingAs adoption has matured and the ecosystem has had sufficient time to transition, we are retiring the option to disable Sandbox mode. Once this option is removed, Sandbox mode cannot be turned off, and all third-party plugins must operate within the Sandbox environment. Platform What changes Effective macOS The option to disable Sandbox mode is removed. Sandbox mode is required for Acrobat, Reader, and all third-party plugins. October 2026 Windows The option to disable Protected Mode (Sandbox) is removed. Sandbox mode is required for Acrobat, Reader, and all third-party plugins. December 2026   Why Sandbox mode mattersSandbox technology isolates Acrobat and Reader from the rest of the system, significantly reducing the risk of exploitation from malicious files and shrinking the attack surface introduced by third-party plugins.Disabling Sandbox/Protected mode has always meant giving up these protections. Retiring that option ensures every customer benefits from the strongest available security by default, without needing to take any action. What plugin developers need to doIf your plugin is already Sandbox-compatible: no action is needed. If your plugin is not yet Sandbox-compatible: prioritise the necessary updates and complete validation before your platform's deadline — October 2026 for macOS & December 2026 for Windows.Completing these updates ahead of the deadlines will help ensure a seamless experience for users and uninterrupted plugin functionality. Sandbox Compatibility Guide WindowsFor plugin sandbox compatibility, refer to the sample plugin and follow these steps to add custom policies.macOSSandboxing is implemented using the OS-provided technology, App Sandbox. If you've opened a project that includes ProRes RAW media in Premiere v26.5 or later, that media might look different than it did in previous versions. This is a result of improvements to our support for ProRes RAW.In versions of Premiere before v26.5, ProRes RAW could be imported and played, but we treated it mostly as if it were just standard ProRes. It was possible to change the color space, but Premiere always defaulted to converting to Rec. 709, regardless of the camera or device that recorded the media.Some customers would use Source Settings to pick the correct color space, but it was also common to leave the default Rec. 709 conversion in place.In Premiere v26.5 and later, ProRes RAW is now fully supported. Performance is better — particularly on Windows — and raw parameters can be viewed and modified.We also now pick the color space that was selected when the media was recorded, instead of automatically converting it to Rec. 709. In addition, converting to Rec. 709 in Source Settings is no longer available, as the best place to choose Rec. 709 is in Premiere's color experience.This is what may cause an existing project to look different: the switch from defaulting to Rec. 709 to picking the correct color space.If you're in this situation, there are two easy fixes.The first is to use Premiere's color management system to convert your ProRes RAW media into Premiere's working color space. To do that:Go to Lumetri Color > Settings; if you're using Premiere Beta v27, go to Window > Color Management. Go to Project and turn on Color Manage Auto Detected Log and Raw Media.If you'd prefer not to use Premiere's color space transform, use a LUT:In the Project panel, select your ProRes RAW media. Right-click your selection and choose Modify > Color. Choose a LUT from the Input LUT menu.With either of these changes, your media should now look as you’d expected. There might be small differences in brightness, which can be tweaked in Lumetri Color > Edit or, in Premiere Beta v27, in the Color mode.
