What’s newThis release expands creative choice in Generate Image with access to custom‑trained AI models, similar to what you’ve seen with Generative Fill. Whether you’re experimenting with concepts or polishing production‑ready visuals, having multiple models at hand gives you more control over how your ideas come to life. Bug fixes — thanks to you!Your feedback continues to shape these updates. In this release, we’ve addressed several customer‑reported issues to make everyday workflows more reliable:Canvas size relative mode fields display incorrect default values, reject zero and negative values, and use incorrect increment steps. A realistic shadow helps your subject feel grounded in the scene. In Photoshop, there are several ways to create one, depending on your subject and lighting. Based on workflows shared by experts in the Photoshop community, we've brought together a few of the most effective techniques here. Choose the method that best fits your workflow. Method 1: Using Generative AIAI can speed up the setup, but you will still get the best results by refining the shadow yourself.Use Select Subject or Remove Background to quickly isolate your object. It analyzes the lighting, color, and tone of the scene, and can also generate a matching shadow to help the subject feel more naturally integrated. Learn more. Refine the generated shadow manually using one of the methods above for the most realistic result. Method 2: Drop Shadow EffectThis is the quickest way to add depth and separation to elemen

Keeping your Layers panel organized just got a whole lot easier. Layer Cleanup in Photoshop 27.6 and above automatically deletes empty layers and renames layers based on their content, so you can focus on creating, not housekeeping. With a single action from the Layers panel, Photoshop scans your document and removes blank pixel or text layers that tend to pile up during exploration. At the same time, it can intelligently rename layers, giving them clear, descriptive names that reflect what’s inside, so you no longer have to guess what “Layer 37 copy 2” contains. You’re in control of how much cleanup happens. Run it across the entire document for a full reset, or apply it only to selected layers when you want to tidy up as you go. Here is a quick tutorial demonstrating this feature. Why this mattersFaster navigation in complex files Cleaner handoffs when sharing PSDs with teammates Less friction when revisiting older projects Better layer discipline without manual effortWhether you’r

I am experiencing a color management issue in Photoshop Beta 27.9.0 after the latest update.Since updating, images are displayed without the correct Color Proof preview by default. The images appear significantly too bright compared to the expected proofed view. I have to manually enable View → Proof Colors every time to get the correct color appearance.Interestingly, if I disable the Graphics Processor in Photoshop preferences, the behavior returns to normal and the correct proofing appearance is shown immediately, as it was before the update.System configuration:MacBook Pro M4 (2025) macOS 26.5.2 Photoshop Beta 27.9.0 Two Apple Studio Displays 27” (recent models) Display profile: Apple Display (P3-600 nits)Problem details:No changes were made to macOS display settings. Hi there , I am quite new to Photoshop and would like to ask , is it likely that Adobe will develop the Place Embeded command into a multiple file facility sometime soon , (I know about the Srcipts/Load files into Stack) but it would be nice to have individual Layers
I recently compared Firefly, Gemini Nano, and FLUX 1 Kontext Pro inside Photoshop. One gives me ideas in seconds with different generations vs the time it takes to draw one sketch or composed one. It’s an incredible power, but I wonder if we’re losing our creative "gut feeling" in the process. Design has changed for many. In Photoshop, AI has turned the canvas into an interactive partner. As designers, we are no longer just creators; we are curators of a conversation. We’ve never had this much power at our fingertips, but does speed equal mastery? I want to know: Does that speed make you feel like a creative powerhouse, or does it make you wonder who’s really in the driver’s seat? Please drop a comment with your experience! ~ Love to hear how your process or thoughts has shifted—No right or wrong answers here—just your honest take!
My entire computer consistently crashes when I try to use “Select and mask”, Some of my photoshop files have even been corrupted if the file I tried to mask was in them. Im not sure what has been causing this. I’ve tried to update my drivers, my gpu, cleared my cache, allocated more RAM space for photoshop to use, and nothing seems to work. Any guesses as to what could be causing this? I am not extremely savvy when It comes to hardware optimization, but I couldn’t find any similar issues online to help fix this problem.
How do you get 10 inches at 72dpi to be 2000 pixels? I know there's a trick, but I forgot. I have photoshop. If I use "image size" I get 10 inches at 72dpi at 720 pixels which I worry is too low rez.
After updating to the most recent version (v 27.9) image coloring appears incorrectly in the editing workspace. When opening a .jpg using photoshop, the photo appears in the workspace washed out and with no contrast. In the navigator window and Camera Raw, the photo appears with the correct coloring. I’ve included a photo for reference. The photo coloring returns to normal once saved and exported out of Photoshop.Step 1- Open the .jpg by right clicking the image and selecting open with PhotoshopStep 2- The photo appears in the workspace with incorrect coloring. In workspace- incorrect coloringIn navigator window- correct coloring
As the title says, I'm trying to use the new AI remove tool after removing some people using the Generative Fill tool, as the ai generated grass is usually more accurate when using Remove. This is something I have been doing since the remove tool came out, and it has worked without error until last week. Now, whenever I have used generative fill on an image, and I attempt to use the AI Remove tool, Photoshop says "Could not complete your request because of a program error", regardless of whether my selection includes the area where Generative Fill was used. I get the same result if I rasterise the Gen Fill layer, or if I flatten the image. However, if I undo the Gen Fill, or open a new image without any Gen Fill used on it, the Remove tool will work as it is supposed to. The file type does not seem to matter, as I have tried .dng, .psd, .png and .jpg and got the same results for all. My question is, why might this be happening? Is it deliberate choice by adobe, or an uninte

Have been editing a batch of photographs today. I have been using AI Sharpen and AI DeNoise (Topaz) without issue. I received a msg stating I was running low on credits, so I purchased a monthly sub. I was able to use these functions a couple more times - but now, each time, no matter the file, I am receiving an error that reads: “We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again.” I have closed and restarted PS and other apps, signed out of and back into my Creative Cloud acct, and tried toggling the Pref->Performance→Graphics Processor option (suggested online). I also cleared the plug in cache and restarted - no effect. No luck. Stuck. Would greatly appreciate some guidance / assistance. Thx!
Thanks to all who took part in our drill challenge. It is amazing what was made from that simple object. This week we have another object. It is a watchmaker’s jewelling tool, used to fit and adjust the jewels which act as bearings in a watch movement. Whilst that is it’s real purpose, I’m sure you can come up with some great alternatives. So for this challenge, what can you make from this tool? The “rules”:Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry. Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc. Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”. The challenge is not limited to Photoshop. Any Adobe software can be used. There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go! The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge o

Hi Adobe Photoshop Team,I am writing to request a feature update to the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer panel. Please add a dedicated Orange option to the master dropdown menu, matching the functionality found in Lightroom’s Color Mixer and Camera Raw.Currently, Photoshop users must manually adjust the sliders for Reds or Yellows to target orange tones. This is a common bottleneck for skin tones, autumn landscapes, and sunset photography.Proposed Implementation:Add "Oranges" to the Hue/Saturation dropdown menu (Master, Reds, Yellows, Greens, Cyans, Blues, Magentas). Set the default color picker range for the Orange channel to sit precisely between Red and Yellow. This small integration would bridge a major workflow gap between Lightroom and Photoshop, creating a more unified and efficient editing experience across the Creative Cloud.Thank you for your time and continuous improvements to the software.Best regards,Ike Veneris
Please restore the "Delete Hidden Layers" command in the Layers panel menu.In recent versions of Photoshop (27.8), the Delete Hidden Layers command has disappeared from the Layers panel menu. It used to be available directly from the panel and was an essential productivity feature for many professional users.Removing this shortcut forces users to perform additional steps for a very common housekeeping task. This is a regression in usability rather than an improvement. Please restore Delete Hidden Layers to the Layers panel menu, where it was for many years. It was easy to find, consistent with professional workflows, and saved valuable time when cleaning complex PSD files. Many long-time Photoshop users rely on this command every day. Bringing it back would improve workflow efficiency at virtually no cost. Thanks a lot in advanceBest regardsCleo (senior art director and graphic designer with over 20 years of daily Photoshop use)
When we issue a command from the action panel, the fade command (CTRL+SHIFT+F) doesn't work. The action panel is terrible. It slows things down incredibly. I had to revert to the previous version.
I'm getting this error in Photoshop 2025 on macOS Monterey when trying to save to the cloud or access the resource organizer: "We can't load the resource organizer right now. Make sure all Adobe domains and subdomains are allowed on your network."Illustrator, using the same account and same device, syncs to the cloud with no issues.I've already tried: checking hosts file, DNS, proxy, and firewall (all clean), confirmed successful TLS connection directly to Adobe's servers, fully uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop, verified Full Disk Access permissions, and reset the CoreSync service/cache. The error persists exactly the same.Any ideas on what else could cause this?
