Hi. I subscribed to Adobe Effects, but after three weeks I realized it was too complicated and not so useful to me. So I preferred to cancel my subscription after the first month, but an Adobe agent told me it was a monthly subscription, but it was meant to be annual (??), so if I cancel after a month, I'd have to pay a penalty of about six months' rent, roughly $150. Actually, when I signed up, I clearly read that I could cancel at any time, and I never saw any mention of penalties: I'm sure of that, otherwise I wouldn't have accepted. Or I would have opted out of the free 14-day cancellation policy. In any case, I find this condition, which was certainly rarely disclosed, if not well hidden, to be unfair. Where was this clause written? And if I cancel after six months, do I still have to pay the penalty of six months' rent?

For anyone else reading this
.
Please read everything so you know what you are doing BEFORE you buy a subscription or start a trial... the link below has the information you need
.
Also... You are allowed ONE trial per account... if you have already had a trial, and you sign up for another trial, you will be charged immediately
.
If you buy a HIGHER COST Monthly subscription you may cancel at any time without a fee... when you buy an Annual subscription with Monthly payments, and you do not cancel in NO MORE than 14 days from the start of your subscription, you pay 1/2 of the remaining time if you cancel early... you also need to keep track of your annual renewal date, so you may cancel after your 12th payment, before your subscription renews and you start a new one year subscription
.
RENEWAL IS AUTOMATIC UNTIL YOU CANCEL

you mean you intended to subscribe to a monthly subscription but you actually subscribed to an annual subscription (perhaps paid monthly).
and it's clearly stated that a fee applies if you cancle, before you pick that plan:
