New Here ,
Nov 25, 2025 Nov 25, 2025

Adobe crashes when opening PDF's that have previously opened on Adobe.  This is becoming a major probklem as I am unable to complete projects.  Anybody else having problems?  I have rebooted the system and only opened Adobe and still it crashes with no other app working.

@Kevin30438244yo9v before you open a PDF, are you using the 'new Acrobat interface?' — Go to View - Disable new Acrobat. If it says 'Enable new Acrobat, it would mean you are viewing the PDFs in classic mode. But if you see 'Disable new Acrobat,'  click on that, and Acrobat will restart. Hopefully that should work.

If not, could the previously open PDFs are corrupted? What happens if you open a PDF that jas never been opened? Dos that crash

Thanks for the advice.

I have restarted Adobe and it now seems to be OK. None of the files that caused the crash are corrupted as they can now be opened.

Still remains a mystery, but hopefully it will continue OK now.

Cheers,

Hi Kevin30438244yo9v ,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing the crash issues when opening PDFs.

Please try the troubleshooting steps suggested here once: https://adobe.ly/4prhpAE

You may also try reinstalling the application using the steps suggested below:

-Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://adobe.ly/3XSloul).
-Reboot the machine
-Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: https://adobe.ly/3KhBjzl.

If that does not resolve the issue, please collect the logs using the steps suggested below:

https://adobe.ly/3XSUhzm. Then, upload the logs to any Cloud Drive (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox) and share the link to the file with us. We will have these logs reviewed to identify the root cause of this behaviour. Please also share the version number of the current Acrobat.

Let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
