A client is getting an error message that says literally "no error" and then the PDF document is failing to assemble. It happens erratically, but once one XFA assembly fails it fails repeatedly unless the machine is rebooted. Rolling back to an earlier version seems to resolve the issue (but not satisfactorily). Forms are being opened via a .net process start command in a windows form (relying on MIME type), rather than being opened through a browser. Has anyone any idea what could be causing this issue, please?
Screenshot attached, for what it's worth.
Hello
@DidntEatHisGreens @radc78171767 @PSC5C88 @Jamie0D44
We would like you to test the following steps.
1. Please ensure that Acrobat/Reader is closed.
2. Goto the computer registry, and navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\IPM
3. The registry “b4304509” should be set to 0. You can double click to change, and set it to "0".
4. Now, navigate to the below-mentioned paths, and create a new registry- See attached screenshot.
Path (Reader): HKEY_LOCAL

Hi Jason, you are quite correct, it isn't in there until I go into preferences, once I have that key appears and I cannot open those files, Once I set it to 0 again, it works, but only until I go back into preferences and it breaks again.

Hi Bhavna I have tested it on one of our servers under a user account and that seems to be working.
Thanks very much.
I will roll out the patch to our other servers and update if anything changes.

Thank you Bhavna. I have heard that this has worked successfully for at least one of our clients that has been experiencing the problem. Will the issue that requires this fix be patched in the next Adobe Reader release, please?

I have a question about the instructions, I folowed them all the way up to "DC" after that I do not have IPM, and cannot go any further. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\IPM
Do you have any suggestions

Maybe you should create all the values

I followed all the steps to a T. Failed miserably. Although step 4 isn't entirely clear: after creating FeatureSet, do you also create the key 4304509 for both, Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader?

I have a MacBook running Catalina, and have been sent such a file to fill-in as a matter of urgency - yet I can't even open it!
I've seen it suggested online that I open it with Acrobat Reader, but Acrobat Reader no longer seems to be available, at least not in 64bit for Mac.
I've tried downloading Adobe Reader DC, but there are so many bugs in it that it won't open any files at all.
The Adobe help page seems to say (in more words), "we bungled the upgrade".
I'm really stuck and would appreciate immediate help, please!

I followed all the 4 steps. Still "no error" message and the pdf cannot open all the time. I restart the computer and re-check the registry, everything OK but just cannot open the pdf.
My system is windows10 home 20h2 and acrobat reader is 64-bit version 2021.007.20099
Anyone can help me?

Hi,
This error has come back after originally being this first affected customer.
Even with people that have had the registry keys added or amended, the error has started coming back on the XFA Lexis Nexis smart forms.
I has been since update 2021.007.20099 that the issue has started occuring again.
We are currently resorting to other PDF readers, but would rather keep things simple just using the one if we can.
Regards,
Matt

With the 64 Bit version of Reader (21.011.20039) you're again unable to open XFA based forms. All you get is an error message saying "no error". After clicking [OK] you only see the Shell-PDF with the "Please wait …" hint. The XFA content isn't processed. The 32 Bit version seems to be fine but automatically gets updated to 64 Bit after some time.

All above is correct. But on every version we can find since the orignally affected one.
Converstation is open and moved to https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/adobe-reader-quot-no-error-quot-warning-ve...
Also, the answer in this thread no longer applies, and is now an outdated solution to the same problem.

Same to me for 64 bit version. But a created a reg files to be run by the user every time his enconter this error.
Just copy:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\IPM]
"b4304509"=dword:0
in a text file and saved with .reg (ex. reset.reg )
I hope this is a temporary solution and Adobe fix the issue a.s.a.p.

We are sorry for the trouble.
If you are getting this message while viewing a pdf in a browser, you are most likely trying to open a Dynamic XFA (XML Form Architecture) PDF. To view such pdf documents, we recommend you to download the file locally and open it either in Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro
Please go through the help page https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/pdf-won-t-display-please-wait/td-p/4788543 and see if that works for you.
