Can I run my Adobe apps on Apple computers that use the Apple Silicon M1 chip?

Lightroom and Photoshop run natively on Apple M1 computers. We are working on other native M1 versions for other apps but don't have release dates yet. In the meantime, apps can be run using the Rosetta 2 emulation from Apple. Starting with certain models introduced in late 2020, Apple began the transition from Intel processors to Apple silicon in Mac computers.

Note: If you have a new M1 computer which you’re setting up for the first time be careful about using Migration Assistant to copy data over from a former computer. Most prior macs have a different type of processor (Intel), making the prior Adobe product installations incompatible. Adobe recommends reinstalling the apps rather than attempting to migrate them in this kind of scenario. If you do use the Migration Assistant, deselect the option to migrate Applications or uninstall your Adobe product(s) prior to migrating.

What if I've already used the Migration Assistant?

If you've already used the Migration Assistant, please download and run the CC Cleaner Tool from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html to remove the Adobe apps and components that were copied to the new computer. Once the applications are entirely removed, you can follow the steps listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/download-install-app.html to install any Adobe applications you wish to use on the new MacBook Pro. The available Universal Adobe apps and components will be installed automatically as part of this process.
