First Happy Thanksgiving from USA.
Trying to use Envelope Distort with text that has been filled using a vector image? I am sure this is possible in Ai.
Thanks

Does Make Clipping Mask and Envelope Distort not work for you?

The Clipping Mask was the first thing I tried. I was getting an error though. Also not sure why when creating a New Layer and adding Text the Selection box was red and I was unable to create an Outline. Is this normal behavior?
I may have to take a time out today. A lot of cooking ahead on Thanksgiving. Thank you both.
Thanks

Is the image embedded?

Ton;
Nom image is not embedded. Rather simple actually. Using Text, convert to outline. Using the Elipse tool add a circle. Circle is then split using the Knife tool and add an Offset path. Then pull apart the Circle. Then select the Text and half of the Circle. Using Envelope Distort/ Make With Top Object. Appears I missed a step and need to apply the Clipping Mask to the Text prior to Envelope Distort. Thanks

The attached image shows a red box around the Text. There is a wide gap from last character and end of the box. The right side of the box has what appears to be a handle. When I mouse over a box appears with the symbol for a Font. This also shows to convert to Area text double click. When I click on Clipping Mask the Text disappears?

I cannot follow your description anymore about your distort twist problem, I don't see an image or a circle or a clipping mask. Maybe you could share a file?

Thanks, I attached an image of what I am seeing. Although not real sure what the red box was? I deleted the text and added a new text layer. A little bizarre I was unable to select the image and text separately. However, selecting all objects (Ctrl +A) i was able to create the Clipping Mask.

Are you saying that everything is working correctly for you now? If you are still having an issue, please show us your layers panel.

By @westdr1dw
The red indicates that the bounding box is on a layer assigned to red.

When I click on Clipping Mask the Text disappears?
By @westdr1dw
If the gray square is the vector image, then the reason the text disappears is it is out of range of the rectangle. Either position it on top of the rectangle before you create the clipping mask or move the text a couple of inches to the right afterwards.

Thanks, the Artboard is the white area. I was unable to remove the space after the text. Tried moving the box to various parts of the artboard. If it is out of range of the rectangle should it not have a "+" symbol? Also not sure why it added the space since I did not create a box and add text. This is not the first time I have had this happen.
Once deleted and inserted more text I was able to generate a clipping mask.
Still unraveling the mysteries of Illustrator. This appears to be a long road ahead.
