S.O.S. Problema con esportazione in pdf

New Here ,
Jan 08, 2026 Jan 08, 2026

Grazie. Federicapaola

Try exporting the file as an IDML file (File>Export>InDesign Markup (IDML)) and then open that file in your version of InDesign and save it as a regular .indd file. This process can clear out corruption from a file. See if you can now export a pdf correctly from the new file.

If that doesn't work then try exporting a pdf from another file. If the problem persists with that one also then maybe resetting your InDesign preferences can take care of possible program corruption. Resetting preferences will restore the program to its defaults. Hopefully, that can fix the issue.

To reset preferences:

For Macintosh Users: The User Library folder in which InDesign’s preferences are stored is hidden by default on most Macintoshes. To access it make sure that InDesign is closed and click on the desktop to launch a Finder Window (Command-N). With this window in column view follow the path User>Home folder (it’s the folder with an icon that looks like a house—it may have the user’s name rather than “Home”) and click on the Home folder. With the Option Key pressed choose Library from the Finder Go Menu. “Library” will now appear within the Home folder. Within the Library folder find the folder called Preferences and within it find the folder called “Adobe InDesign” and the file called “com.adobe.InDesign.plist” and delete both that folder and that file. When InDesign is next launched it will create new preference files and the program will be restored to its defaults.

For Windows Users: You can try the quick way of resetting on a PC which is to hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift when launching InDesign and respond affirmatively when asked if you want to reset. There have been some recent reports that the window asking if you want to reset is not popping up but that the prefs are being reset anyway. If this works great but if it doesn’t you may have to manually delete them.

To do so:

On Windows 7 and above the preference files are hidden. To find them go to the Control Panel and open Folder Options and then click the View tab. Then select “Show hidden files and folders” or “Show hidden files, folders or drive options” in Advanced Settings. Then delete (or rename) the folder at the end of this path: C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\<Version #>\<Language>. Make sure that InDesign is closed when you do this. When you relaunch the program it will create  new preference files and the program will be at its default settings.

The advantage of manually deleting preference files is that after you’ve reset up the program (make sure that no document window is open) to your liking, you can create copies of your personalized “mint” preference files (make sure that you quit the program before copying them—that finalizes your customization) and use them in the future to replace any corrupt versions you may need to delete.

esportare il file come file IDML (File > Esporta > InDesign Markup (IDML)) appena fatto ma niente, continua a dare questo problema.  Grazie intanto per la risposta. Federicapaola

Hi @Opificio della Fotografia,

Thanks for sharing the details and the report. I checked the document you attached, and I see the InDesign version mentioned there as 21.0.1. Could you please confirm if that's correct? If so, I'd recommend updating InDesign to the latest 21.1 version and then testing the PDF export again.

Also, please let me know if this crash happens only with this specific file or if you're seeing the same behavior when exporting other InDesign files as well. Another important detail is whether you see the Adobe Crash Reporter when InDesign closes. If the crash reporter appears, please submit the report and share the email address you used via DM, so I can check the logs. I checked using your community email and couldn’t find any submitted crash reports so far. You can refer to this page for submitting crash reports: https://adobe.ly/3Z7oDyA.

In the meantime, please also try the suggestions shared in this similar community discussion and let me know if any of them help: https://adobe.ly/49KwrMX. I'd also recommend going through the steps in this Adobe help article related to PDF export hangs and testing again: https://adobe.ly/3Yv9ozm.

If the issue still persists after trying the above, could you please share the affected file with me for testing? If the file is confidential, feel free to share it via DM using a public cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox. If packaging works, please share the packaged file as well, following the steps here: https://adobe.ly/3NAtm9x.

I'll look into it further once I have your update.

Abhishek
